Hey everybody and welcome back to deeper than hair tv. Today i am doing a client and yes, if you read the title, she has not combed her hair since last summer. Now, because of this, you know the result is that her hair is locked up. There are very, very small locks, big locks, it's just matted and you know she came in with concern and she just was. I could tell that she was nervous because she kept saying you could, just if you got to cut it off, you could just cut it off and i'm like, i would never resort to cutting it off. There is always a way through this. If you are a hair stylist and somebody comes to you with just locked hair because of just you know, they might be depressed, they might have went through something anything. You know we are not here to judge anybody or try to figure out. You know a lot of times when i see videos like these on instagram and youtube. The comments are like well, who would ever let their hair get like that, and it's like. We just never know what anybody has been through. That has put them in this position. So that's why i started with the quote that i did a little more kindness and a lot less judgment. So i'm starting off by what i did was i wet her hair down and i put in the detox conditioner. It has incredible slip and i'm just going to go in with my shampoo comb and i'm going to try my best to comb these locks out one at a time. So, while using the shampoo comb, i realized that that wasn't going to work. The teeth were entirely too big to do that, so i started using my hands just to see if i can loosen it up a little bit and then i decided to go in with a small tooth comb. Now, usually, i wouldn't suggest using a small two comb when i'm combing out a client, but with this it kind of was impossible to use such a big tooth comb. It just wasn't getting into the matted hair. The way i needed it to so, i have to use a small tooth comb and sometimes you're going to see me use the rat tail as well just to pick those locks apart now, the word of the day is patience again. If you are a stylist, if you are up and coming stylist and you're in school, if this is you if, if you're going through this with your hair, just know that you have to be patient pick a day when you're totally ready for it, because you're really Going to have to you know, give some tlc all the way around just the way you talk to the clients, the way you deal with it, the way you handle the hair, every single thing you do is just going to take some patience and a whole lot Of love, so if you aren't equipped for this, make sure that you put the client in somebody's hands that is, or at least be honest with them. You know i'm probably not the best person for the job, and maybe i can help you find somebody who is, but it's not going to be me me right here. I know that i'm equipped for it, because i'm into giving love to the hair - and you know it's - you - had to take your time with people everybody's been through certain things and you just want to give love just like you want to get love. So, after about 10 to 12 minutes, we have that first lock out using the small tooth comb and, as you can see, her curl pattern is absolutely beautiful and i can't wait to go in and get the rest of these locks out now. I'M working on the next section. It'S like a funny story. How i met this woman. I was at whole foods and i was like sitting down with my trainer and her cousin and we were eating and this woman walks up to me. She'S, like oh, my goodness, like i watch your channel, i love your work. You cannot tell me no, i need my hair fixed. You cannot tell me no and i'm like i'm looking at her and she was just so excited and her energy just something about her energy and her spirit made me just not tell her. No - and you know next thing, you know we're doing her hair and it's like she didn't even want to show me her hair at first and i'm like well. I need to see it because i got to do it and i'm, like you know i've seen so many cases with people's hair going through so many things that i'm never surprised by anything. So when i saw her hair, i was actually more excited than anything that we were going to be able to help her out today, instead of being intimidated by it. I was more drawn to it and most of the times when we go through trials and tribulations. One of the first things to get neglected is our hair. I know i've been there plenty of times where i'm going through something, and i don't comb my hair for days or even weeks. Listen. Sometimes i don't comb my hair for days or or almost weeks when i'm not going through something. You know what i'm saying. So it is what it is, it's just better to have compassion for people, because you know i know. I said this already in the beginning of the video, but you know a lot of times we're like how could they be doing that and how could they not comb their hair and how could whatever, but it's like you, sometimes you got to think of the reason You know sometimes people don't comb their hair, they don't get washed, they don't answer the phone. You know, if someone's going through something we all go through things differently. So you know again just have compassion a little more kindness when people are going through things, because you just don't know why now check out her hair is done. First section is done. You see that amount of hair that came out, don't let it freak you out. Remember we talked about this before every day, somewhere between 75 and 150 strands of hair are supposed to come out, naturally by shedding. So when that happens, you know you usually are there to comb or brush the hair out every day, but you ever notice with a protective style when you have like you, know a sew-in or a braids, and you take it out. You'Re, like, oh, my god, look at all this hair that came out, but it's literally because you weren't able to comb it every day. So when you finally do all that hair that was shedding is in your hand, nail all at one time. So that makes it look even worse. You know so that's probably most of what's happening, of how much hair i had in my hand just now, but it's also a little breakage, because you know it's pretty much impossible to do all of this without breaking it at all. But you know i'm trying my best to do it where she gets the minimum breakage possible. Now this lock right here was one of the hardest. It was like the most matted and it also had a lot of debris. So again, i use conditioner and i am just going through this and i'm going to get these locks out. Also, i forgot to tell you guys - and i'm pretty sure you figured it out already, but i have the cap on the remainder of her hair just to keep the hair wet um. While i do this, because i don't want it to dry out because then i'm gon na have to re-wet it down in order to get her hair into place, that makes it easier to comb out. So as long as the hair is wet, it makes it much easier. You do never want to go into combing this out while it's dry, you know what i'm saying you never want to do that, because that's going to make the breakage a little worse, even though the hair is weaker, when it's wet, it's going to make it easier To get through than if you do it, while it's dry, okay, i know it's probably a little boring watching me comb out each lock. So i'm just going fast forward to this next section being done. Kaboom - and you know every now and then she'd be like how much percentage we got left, so i i would just be like. Oh we got we right now we're at 45, so i was telling that we just finished 45 and um. I was just so happy to see her hair starting to come together and getting her closer to just seeing her hair out again. So i'm just going to twist this up and get it out the way and i'm going to do the next section. So i'm not going to comb through any more of her locks on camera, i'm just showing you that we are all done. This is all the hair that came out all together. Some people was in the shop like that's like all my hair put together. So now i'm gon na go in. I have shampooed her to get all that build up out. I use the detox shampoo um. You can get some of your own from deeperthanhair.com and i am going to go in with the beautiful collection, rinse i'll put a link in the box, so you can get this if you'd like some and i'm going to give her a black rinse. Now, when i was about to put the rinse on her hair she's like well, it's it's not going to take i'm telling you it's not going to take and i'm like listen, beautiful collection is the goat. When it comes to dying gray, hair. It is the goat. If you have stubborn grays and you want them covered, go get miss clairol's, beautiful collection, it's got, you covered, no pun intended and listen. When i be piping, these people up and telling y'all what to use and all of that stuff. None of these people pay me to say this, like i'm literally telling you guys what works for me and what i've seen over the years. Nobody pays me to tell you all this information. I just want you all to know, because that's just how good it is. I don't promote anything or mention anything that i do not love, so i just figured i'd. Let y'all know that because i know a lot of people you know get paid to tell you guys to use stuff, and i don't i just really want to let y'all know what's good out here now, on top of her hair being gray, you know, i know You can't really tell by the video, but her hair is actually also kind of fine. She has that soft cotton fill hairs. The softest hair ever and is pretty fine, so a black, rinse or dark brown rinse will help her hair appear a lot fuller. So at the end of this rinse, i'm just going to take the remainder of the color and i'm gon na make sure that her ends are saturated and the rinse has almost like a leather consistency. So it makes it easier to make sure that that color is evenly distributed all throughout the hair, and i am just going to clip that up at the top and i am going to go around her edges with cotton now. This is a step that you do not have to do at the salon. I just like to do this because, when you're doing color professionally, you want to make sure that it's not dripping all down the client's face or that the ears is all got color on it. You just always want to catch that color off the ears and stuff, because once the stains are there, it's pretty annoying to get off. You got ta, use alcohol and you'd be scrubbing your life away and um. I know we all been there, so i like to put cotton around to just help: um be proactive, so those things won't happen and then i'm gon na put a cap on her head and i'm gon na put her under the dryer on high heat for 35 Minutes so now that that color has set, it is nice and dark see that how dark and rich it looks, and i am going to put some satin shield on her hair and get ready for this blow dry, and it also gave it on top of her. Having conditioner in her hair, it also gave it a nice protective coating because with rinses it's a deposit onto the hair as with permanent color, it strips color off of your hair. So that's why i love rinses because it just adds to the hair. That'S why a lot of times when you see somebody get a rinse, the hair is super shiny. Afterwards, now i'm just going in, of course, with my favorite blow dryer and my denim pedal brush, that's starting to look a little beat up and i am going through her hair and i'm gon na blow dry as straight as possible because i'm pretty sure she's gon Na need a really good trim do now. This is what her hair is looking like and, as you can see, it is so much longer on the right side than it is on the left. So i'm just going to take my hair strands of hair shears and i'm going to go in now again i could like i don't know i could have like really went in and gave her a bob or a cut. But it's like you know. The purpose of saving her hair is so that we could save her hair. You know so you know unless she asks for a bob cut. I didn't think it was necessary that we went that hard and cut it off. So you know i just blow-dried it as straight as i could just so. I can get a really even cut and i'm just going to go in and i'm going to get most of that damage off, and then i told her that we will work together and get the rest of it off over time. So that's what i'm doing right now now, i'm just going in and getting this hair all around the shoulders, making sure that it's even with the back and then i'm going to also you know, frame the front a tad bit and then i'm going to pull her Hair out and all the hair that didn't reach all the way to the bottom, i'm going to trim it all in between so sorry that it's a little out of focus because it was focusing on her head and not the hair that i'm pulling out. But if you watch my videos, you've seen this process plenty of times. So that's what i'm doing now so now it looks nice and heavy and chunky on the ends and i think we're going to be off to a good start. So next i'm just going to go in and i am going to get my flat irons to 22 titanius and i know you're like when they're gon na be back in stock. Um we're thinking spring somewhere between april and may they'll be back, and what i'm gon na do is i'm just gon na feather her out. Let her enjoy her length. Let her enjoy her soft straight hair. You know i was going back and forth like a little tiny bit matter of fact, a lot a bit a lot of bit. I wanted her to wear her natural curls, but because she hasn't been taking care of her hair. That much i didn't want to put her in a position that would make her have to take care of it. Any extra you know with straight hair. All she has to do is just wrap it every night, but with curly hair over time like it could get matted too. You know you got ta, really really pay attention to your curls, so i didn't want her to deal with anything that might end up getting tangled or anything like that. So i decided to press her hair straight and then i told her next time when she comes in i'm definitely going to show her what them curls do. If you are a naturalista, you know firsthand that natural hair is high maintenance. It ain't no joke. So i didn't want to put her in a position where she had to do all of that and learn all of that the same week that she got her hair revived. So i'm just giving her some feathers and you know i can't wait to see how this comes out. If you are new to my channel, hey how you doing, but i just want to tell you to make sure you subscribe, because i i was never in the habit of telling people to subscribe. But you know i'm trying to get in the habit to remember to tell you guys to subscribe or even if you're old here and you never subscribe, make sure you do um some people. I got a notification gang. I don't know if you that want to do all that, but i'd appreciate it. If you did so, you would know every time that i post right now, i post every sunday i try to post every sunday afternoon, but right now and then it'd be on the late night. People like, oh here, come keyword middle of the night post. I'M sorry like i'm a night owl, but i'm trying my best to give them to y'all in the afternoon every sunday here, i'm just pressing her crown towards the front to give her a little sexy swoop. Bang action. Sometimes you know you want to flick that hair out your eye. I love when my hair is like in my face, because i be feeling real cute, so you know, however, if you want to just do your hair like this, without putting any parts in it that way when you take it down after you wrap it you're free To put your part wherever you want to, so that's what another reason why i like to always just do it towards the front so that you know where, if you want your part on either side or in the middle you're free to do it. But if you press a part in there, it will stay now, i'm just spraying the glass brain shine on here, it's actually in stock. So if you want to go, get some from deepinhair.com do so and i am going to wrap her hair and i'm going to wrap it flat and i'm going to take a plastic cap and i'm going to put it on her hair. And what that's going to do is going to insulate those oils, the oil from the heat protectant and the oil from the glassbury and shine, and it is going to make her hair lay and be ready a lot sooner. You know how your hair is usually the best on like day two or three the cap. Does it instantly so now that she sat in the dryer with cool air for about 10 minutes? Her hair is laid, it's fluffy, it's feather, it's soft, it's shiny and she is on the road to recovery. This is miss gina. This is my girl gina, and she is looking good. She is back to herself and she said she was feeling good. So i'm just so happy that she came. I'M happy that her hair is in a better place, and all she has to do is wrap this up every night, with a silk or satin scarf to keep it healthy and get her natural oils from her scalp going throughout her hair and just to keep it Nourished and she's gon na be fine, she's gon na be just fine, so i just want to thank you guys for watching my channel, and hopefully i will see you next time and next time me miss gina get together. We are going to do her natural curls, and that is a promise. All right guys see you next time.

Deeper Than Hair TV: Please remain positive and have compassion for peoples circumstances! Love yall!

AnnathePiana: I had a miscarriage in 2017. I didn't brush or wash my hair for 4 months, I just used dry shampoo and tied it up. I admitted it to my mum one day, and she just sat me down on the floor in front of her and spent 2 hours sorting it, without passing comment. We need more people like you and my mum xx

tessa milano: Girllllllllll... fellow hair stylist here for 22 years and i take my hat off to you! No one knows the patience, time, sweat, tears, and HEART we put into doing hair!! I hope that after seeing this video more ppl understand our passion-- not only for hair but also for making our clients feel"whole " again.

JustByron: I am a retired, male school teacher, who is addicted to your amazing hair videos a few months ago---so much that I called my sister in NC, letting her know that I felt I could straighten her hair out. She struggles with type 4(?) hair, doesn't want chemicals, nor an exorbitant hair bill. Fast forward, I visited her home during Christmas and made a difference in her hair situation. We also bonded more, and I look forward to doing her hair again, soon. So I thank you for your take on the "inner-person" and the victory experienced when hair issues can be improved. God bless you!

whiskeyclones: I almost started crying watching this. I struggle with depression and anxiety, and my hair often falls into disrepair. It makes me feel even worse when it gets dry, crispy and tangled because I ADORE my natural hair. It’s 4c, very thick and about an inch past my shoulders. I never feel more confident than when I’m wearing my Afro. This gives me a lot of comfort and reminds me to be kind to myself, something I forget to do. Keep up the good work! ❤️

Bee Love: I watched this video about two hours ago. Afterwards I committed myself to not leaving the shower until my hair was detangled. When the water went cold, I turned it off and kept going. I'm now sitting here with two bantu knots, fully detangled with a deep conditioner and bag on. Thanks sis

BleeBlahBloop: Been there. When you’re depressed, EVERYTHING is a task. Even getting out of bed. So imagine what a task detangling hair is.

ꜱᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇʀ ᴛʜɪɴɢꜱ 🫶: this made me more confident! i tried to untangle my hair that hasn't been combed in over 6 months, i gave up but i saw this video and now im onto ATTEMPT 2!

bean: this reminds me of not too long ago when i went through a really bad depressive episode. i had neglected a lot of basic hygiene due to my inability to function as a human being for a little over a month, and that included not brushing my hair in that time. my hair was so matted up that, an hour and an entire bottle of detangler later, i was still left with split ends and torn hair. i know how it feels to enter that mental pitfall, when you just can’t function even though you know you aren’t taking care of yourself. it’s a difficult thing to endure. i wish this woman the best of luck in her life moving forward. she is beautiful and strong! ❤️

Stephanie Ruud: Girl, THERAPY, that's what you did. Her hair looks amazing and I love how much confidence care and kindness can have.

theshannankay: As a nurse, I've seen it. Hair is neglected in the hospital, especially black hair. I've seen black pts on life support wake up and wanting their head shaved numerous times.

Danielle: This happened to me a few years ago. I was clinically depressed and literally didn’t wash or comb my hair for MONTHS. When you’re in that dark of a space your hair is the last thing on your mind. When I finally washed and conditioned my hair, I was a new woman! No judgement here, peace of mind and wellness to her

Gloria Bachus: I've watched this video twice. What hits me is your Compassionate care you displayed with Miss Gina. Your hands are miracle workers. I loved how you took your time and saved her crown of glory. Blessings and peace.

Toni Duval: This was magic. I've never been interested in taking care of hair before, but now that I've got myself two mixed baby girls, I've been dead set on becoming an expert in managing their hair. Instantly subscribed, I can plainly learn a thing or two from you!

Thea Adkins: Right now I have to be forcing myself to get up and finger h detangle my hair. I understand how we easily can get here. I lost a full term baby and went through a breakup in the same breathe. You really find how fragile we are until something major disrupts the delicate balance of our lives. Sometimes you you sit down or lay down and can no strength to do anything with yourself or anyone. The worst part is sometimes all the energy you can find, is used to put up a front ,so people don't figure what's up and hence why we are around people but they have no idea what we are hiding because we feel hopeless and embarrassed all rolled into one big mess. Much love to everyone, we have to move about with an open mind and empathy for each other.

CHILL PILL: Watching this, I cried. I’ve actually just realised what I’ve been through. Oh how I wish someone cared for me and did this for me, so I didn’t have to lose my hair 3 times over!!!!

Mulan 121: It takes a lot of courage to admit that you need help. She went out and asked for help. That makes her a badass.

PBrooks2022: This was beautiful to watch. The care and patience you gave her and her hair. I feel like I learned something about hair today and more importantly, how to treat people. Keep doing what you do.

Mmaseamoga Mogotlane: ma'am everything you did for this lady, from not judging her to having in mind to give her a hairstyle that don't tangle, is so thoughtful. you didn't do this for me, but it's something I appreciate ❤

Rogell: For someone who didnt care for their hair all those months, she has beautiful hair. Thank you for your sympathetic professional hands. God is using your gift to bless others.

im♥︎ɿuʞ: this comment section really made me feel less alone. i didn’t know just how many people suffered from hair neglect as well and it is comforting in an odd way to see i’m not the only one who struggles with hair care while not doing so good mentally. i’ve really done nothing with my hair besides wear it in a bun for the past 3 years. i wash it maybe once every 2 weeks and i always dread it a little since i know it’s gonna be matted and it’s gonna hurt to brush :/ whenever i have to redo my bun or tie my hair back up i just grab it and twist it and i’m very aware that each time i’m making it so much more matted and tangled :/

Buery Aquett: As someone who has struggled with depression, you have no idea how big of a difference you're making in her life and her road to recovery. Sometimes simple displays of empathy can mean the world.

Vicki Clark: Being a nursing assistant working in a local area hospital, I get to do this for my patients who are in the ICU. I have hella patience when it comes to washing and combing pts hair. It gets matted up, in the back, when pts struggle against the vent tube in their airway. I'll either braid it, pony it or just comb it out. Beautiful work and so satisfying!! Give others the grace you would like to receive.

Back on Track, AS: I love this. I work with people of trauma so this has really shown me the difference that we can make in a person's life and wellness. I love the care you take with each section.

alison copeland: What you did for her brought tears to my eyes that’s what the world needs is more patience wow

angelplay817: Your video has an ASMR quality to it and that's in part because you take your time and show step by step, the combing, shampooing, cutting, curling, all of it. It's relaxing and satisfying to watch someone get pampered back into health.

Cassandra Bankson: *I don’t know who you are, or why YouTube took this long to recommend your content to me, but boy am I glad to be here to stay!*

Jo MITCHELL: Just goes to show that anything can be saved from the brink. Even matted hair. Well done, looks amazing.

Marissa H: Thank you for taking such care and compassion for this sweet lady. I too have had a very rough season over this last year and have struggled with depression and just stopped caring for myself and it’s so nice to see that people out there actually want to help and care instead of criticizing and tearing someone down. There’s a reason this woman was unable to brush her hair and it most likely wasn’t due to laziness. I never thought I would be in this mess I am with my hair now but I have hope to find support and help because of sweet people like you. Thank you and God bless you.

LaDonna Jones: You could see how beautiful her hair is even before you started. Love and patience delivered through your hands is what hair responds to. Thank you for being a beautiful soul. This woman is blessed and brave. So much love to you!

NTD: Greetings Kee, Vladimir here with NTD Television. We are one of the world's fastest growing media companies with over 100 million fans and 1 billion monthly video views across all of our social properties. Our motto is truth, hope, and humanity. Our team was very impressed by your video: She has NOT combed her hair since LAST SUMMER! (3 HOURS to DETANGLE) and our editors would like to showcase it by uploading it on some of our social media pages and websites so that our fans can see it. Of course, we are happy to credit your channel clearly to make sure people know how to find you and your videos. You will still hold the exclusive rights to the video. Can we have your permission to do that? Kind regards, Vladimir

Shandra Witherspoon: You know what this is called? Being a trauma informed hair stylist. The compassion and patience you showed is consistent with trauma informed therapist. You should add that to your marketing and highlight it. Your expertise is not only servicing people who may live with depression, but also survivors of abuse too. So happy to see this!

Christi Lounsbury: She’s gorgeous!! I’m so happy that she’s able to take that step to move forward. I’ve been that depressed where every ounce of effort went to just opening my eyes and breathing. That first step to do something kind for yourself is the hardest thing in the world and can feel like an impossible hurdle. No judgement Girl! You rock! And you are beautiful!

Michelle Nicky: This is somebody that care about their clients here and put in a smile on their face she did an amazing job with her hair I love it

Aön X: i love how supportive the comments are :) like i have depression and anxiety and when u get into really depressive episodes, it can be hard to take care of yourself. to know that a lot of others relate and have compassion for stuff like that is comforting

David & Marla Jurek: This was so lovely to see! Beautiful Queen! We all go through these times, specially during this pandemic. My sister lost most of her hair post-Covid and with the help of giving and patient hair professionals like yourself, her hair is finally recovering and growing. God bless you and all your fellow professionals! You give your clients a reason to smile when they see their reflection ☺️♥️

Felicia W.: Thank you for this. My mom died in December. I went to my stylist in January because I could not mentally deal with my hair. She detangled and deep conditioned me with nothing but kindness. I didn't tell her what happened, but she said, whatever you are going through, just know I'm praying for you and you will be alright." She have me an air hug and I left feeling human again just for a little bit. Kindness first. Always.

Miillie Mesh: This is what I had to go through recently on my head with being depressed. My hair is long, so it was hell tryna comb through all of it. I had even cut it shorter before letting it go wild & it was still too long. I was like oh lord, I'm gonna have to get a fade lol

Rosie Brown: *You are a Godsend!!* I went through this with my hair twice (plus one time when I was 11 or something but I'm not counting that) Both times because of depression and traumatic things happening in my family. (The first time I was also very very underweight.) It took me two to three months to get it out. I used a needle and I became very good at it too! I usually sat myself down with a towel, some brushes and combs and a good needle and watched funny movies to drown myself into I can tell you.... all that hair.... all that DUST!!! *And when you're FINALLY ABLE TO COMB THROUGH A WHOLE PART* *_and SCRATCH your SCALP for the first time!!!!_* There's no such feeling. I swear I could have scratched my head with a freaking fork and knife and it would have _still_ not been enough. I cried so many tears of joy.... From my experiences; *_anyhting_* *is possible.* The hard part (for me at least) is not getting all of the hair and dust and knots out, it's actually to _start taking care of myself again_ that's the really REALLY hard part. Right now I haven't shampooed my hair since late August 2021. Luckily I've been able to go through it several times with a proper comb and brush and putting in moisture maybe once a month or something. I _know_ it's bad. I just keep having these feelings and voices that tell me it's _sinful_ to take care of myself in any way. Even just showering is a very hard task for me. I can't find a way to make it disappear!!! I don't wear makeup for example, but I used to collect lip balms with different scents because I was just a kid like that... Now, the voice tells me it's sinful to use lip balm also. And face cream. The only thing I'm always allowed to use is deodorant. This comment section makes me feel so less alone in this. But I don't know why it is happening. I just gave away my lip balm collection to my mom. Soon it will be my face moisturizer as well.. Then the conditioner... The feeling of shame and guilt take over me if I try to take care of my appearance. It always screams *'SIN!!!'* in my head when I think about wanting to buy something that professionals tell me would be very good for my kind of hair.... *'SIN!!!'* I don't know why I am like this!!!!

Veronica St. Pierre: This was beautiful. I didn't comb out my hair for almost six months due to depression. This really helped a lot.

A T Mac: I'll tell you what - my car accident in 2017 left me where I couldn't get my hair done for 9 weeks because I sustained a neck injury. I could NOT lift my own arms to do my hair and it was far too painful to be in anybody's shampoo bowl. So I definitely understand.

Royal Reviewer: What an amazing transformation performed with love.

Erin W: What an amazing transformation! She looks beautiful, and I could feel the love and care that you showed her through the entire process.

Syxmaxwell: So much love and respect for these ladies and all the work that they put into their hair. those curls! It's like Sinbad said, 'That's Magic"

Rochelle Robinson: I absolutely love your attitude about this process. More stylists need your type of love for hair and people.

Life In_between: I just found out about this amazing lady. I'm only two videos in and I've come to the realization that she's not just a beautician. She's walking in her ministry. So much compassion. What a Godsend she is.

TT: The courage it takes to visit a salon after having personal issues that your hair suffered, the compassion a stylist shows to get your hair looking , that shows so much. Glad the client is feeling good because she’s looking good too. Bless you.

lifelesssbride: I don’t have curly hair but I definitely know how bad depression can leave your hair, and it’s so awesome how kind and patient you are helping her out we need more people like you

Michele Gauntlett: You are amazing!! I love that you took the time to value this client's needs and made her feel beautiful!! It's not always about chopping off the hair if you are looking yo salvage it! AWESOME JOB!!

Coleen Williams: This is SO GREAT! A lot of stylists get so caught up in ego, but we really are here to serve. This profession is one of giving. Far from easy, but we should always strive to lend our talent to uplift and assist others. Excellent work, her hair really looks amazing!

Kimberly Dooley: What a awesome job you did.. She looks so good.. Hopefully this is the catalyst she needs to start healing.. Honey we all done been there, but I love to see women over coming!!

Akaissy: When you’re sick, depressed, bed ridden etc. even simple things like brushing your hair, brushing your teeth, doing skincare, and whatever else is SO HARD. I know first hand and having tight curls/thick hair makes it even harder. Poor woman, her hair is gorgeous tho❤️ Edit: everyone who is thinking/saying that you’re depressed and can do all of these things, AMAZING, great for u honestly! But not everyone is the same and some people’s depression is debilitating and we use self neglect as a /poor/ coping mechanism. Don’t come in this comment section invalidating other’s experiences✨✨

Val Crump: 13 is difficult, even if you had a great childhood. Thank you for being so patient and kind to alleviate her discomfort. You may have thought that you were restoring her hair, but you may have also restored her hope.

snakebte1: I have to say, I’ve been using Clairol’s Regular(copper colored bottle) Beautiful Collection (Dark Warm Brown) to cover my gray hair for at least 15 years, not even the BC for gray hair (silverish bottle), and it still does a pretty decent job covering the gray. I’m a grumpy old white lady with post-menopausal hair (ugh!), and frizzy, fine hair (maybe in the 2-3 type?), and I like C’s B-Collection cuz it’s straight layover dye. No ammonia no peroxide to eat poor hormonally challenged dry hair (I’m also hypothyroid ). But I DO have to watch out because it does stain walls, floors, sink tile, etc. I’m just sad because I used to have lot more hair. Poo on hormone deficiency!! I just love watching these videos because you are so calming and relaxing. This and hair TikToks from the youngins’ has made me venture out and try new hair products.

Sqrd353: Such a beautiful lady with amazing hair. We all go through something and I'm sure she feels more confident after this hair makeover.

Jocey Noyes: My heart goes out to her, I had a moment where I got sick and I got a huge mat or dread. My stylist knew what I was going thru and came over on her day off and helped me out. I will never forget that and you’re a good person for doing this. We need more people like you.

masseiy: You really changed her life. I’m sure she was scared and worried about sensing judgement from you. Thank you for helping her.

SammiesRose21: This was so satisfying to watch and her hair turned out so beautifully! I love it! Great job and hopefully shes happier now ♥️

niyjah rose: this was such a beautiful (& extremely informative) video. your empathy and compassion is inspiring. thank you so much, please don’t ever change <3

F McNeill: I've been binge watching your videos and you are gifted, in so many ways.. I don't know you personally but I feel happy just knowing that someone like you is out there. More Hair!!!

Ashley H: I appreciate your compassion <3 My hair is down to my knees and its in a massive knot right now due to covid. Youve inspired me to try and get the tangles out! Now if only i can find the strength!

Pearl Fonbuena: “She’s gonna be just fine.” I’m so touched. Impressed by her patience and skills. It felt more like therapy.

Mary R. K.: What a massive transformation! Absolutely beautiful hair and girl. Like you said, no one knows what’s going in your life, so never judge others. I’m glad that she’s in a better place now. And with a new look, it’ll take her far. ❤

Carole Hillsdon: You have a lovely soul and amazing to watch. As a person who suffers with MH illnesses I completely understand not wanting to do your hair. Its nice to see a hairdresser not judge a client, I've always been worried about having mine done properly and so it myself. I'm new to your channel but I will definitely be watching more xx

Salvi-Raised Weirdo: Went a year with on and off hair washing. I was depressed from my second miscarriage and when I finally had my son, i was diagnosed with bipolar. I used to be the kinda extrovert to do my makeup just to go to a gas station mental illness is so hard to overcome. But I'm doing better.

emmy e: Now I have to look through your videos to see her next appointment! Her hair is gorgeous and I need to see her curls! You did an awesome job saving her hair and helping her feel like herself again!

Edd VCR: I got misty-eyed when you said, “She’s going to be fine, she’s going to be just fine.” Thank you for being understanding to those suffering in silence. People like you make this world a better place.

MadamCougar Gaming: I love your videos and how amazing of a person you are! It shines in all of your videos! I love how you don't judge and you completely understand the struggles that EVERYONE experiences. Love your videos! Its very educational for me. I'm fostering a little girl and I had no idea how to care for her hair and your videos have helped me!

A J: This happened to me seven years ago. I left my hair in a big braid all summer in 2014 when I was taking demanding law classes. I shampooed my hair with the braid and all. I can only say that I was extremely busy every waking minute. I ended up cutting my hair all off. I did not think it was possible to untangle it. Kudos to you. The lady was probably depressed in this Pandemic.

Ithica Grey: I did a protective style and left it in for three months. I finally cut off the synthetic hair and started tackling the process of untangling and unmatting my hair. I was so scared that id have to cut it all off but I am so glad I saw this video. It gave me hope

Miysha Lopez: You're so good at your job tbh. I really admire that you tried to help her instead of just cutting it off like some would. You're very kind. :) Please don't just people because of state of their hair, some might be going through a lot and still it isn't your business to judge. Be a kind person.

TayTheGem: This is what it looks like when you’re stylist actually cares about what they do . We need more stylist like you ❤️

Mary D Lutes: I can SO relate too. I was "sick" once and went for days/ weeks in same PJ'S and not showering or washing hair - just kept hair braided. Couldn't even keep track of days. My life was just hospitalizations, doc appts, and pharmacy. Fixing someone's hair is such an intimate caring thing to do.

Shari Danielson: You did amazing on Miss Jeanna’s hair, she looks gorgeous!!! I also LOVE LOVE LOVE, your kindness, love & compassion towards her, because you never know what people are going through for sure!!! Love watching your videos, keep them coming!!!

Barbara Lisiecki: Thank you so much for your care and compassion for this beautiful woman. The smile on her face when you were done was awesome! You did a beautiful job!

Gypsy Anne: Watching this video because I've been dealing with hair depression and having anxiety about detangling. Seeing that there are people like you out there I wish I could get this service. This is so nice of you❤️✨️

Gen Xer67: Covid was hard most people, so I can only image how hard it’s been for those with depression. Glad she felt well enough to see you. You are a true artist.

Israelia Benjamin: Amen. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." You were built to do hair, sis. It's not a job. It's a lifestyle/ calling.

Otto Sean Christopher Mastuh OSCG 8845 Grimsley: You did fabulous on Ms. Gina's hair. She looks nice with the makeover you've given her.

Shyrees: Her hair turned out amazing. This stylist has an insane amount of talent.

Juanita Pettiford: This has to be my favorite! You put actions behind words of patience and kindness. And then you slayed it!

Joe ☕️: This video just shows the difference between a stylist that does the craft for the people vs a stylist that does it for the money. She looked amazing and left happy which is the best.

Kristen Bass: I am dealing with the same thing right now. I haven't brushed my hair since October. I also broke my brush and dealing with depression where I don't get out of bed at all. My hair is horrible and I'm scared I won't be able to get these matts out. They're huge and on my scalp and through out my whole head. I have no income and can't afford any products. I happen to manage getting a real small container of Coconut Oil and have a bunch of damaged hair Loreal and Aussie conditioner. I'm to embarrassed to even go outside and haven't been since October. I'm also afraid my hair is too bad to get the matts out and I had finally grown my hair out after being shaved off 4 years ago.( due to abuse) I don't know what to do

Lisa Monroe: You are the true definition of professionalism. I am thankful she selected you to treat her hair. People don’t acknowledge the importance of hair styling as a form of therapy.

Detoxic: In August I lost the love of my life, I didn't comb my hair or wash it until last week. I had even stopped showering and brushing my teeth. My hair was very matted like this, and falling out. Depression is real and will effect your body externally and internally. I love how you treated her and didn't judge. It can happen to anyone. Thank you.

Masked Angel: I was a preteen and struggled to brush my hair cause it tangled easily. One section of my hair was the worst for me in the back cause it was so hard to get. Mom took me to a hairdresser and while she got through most of it, she just decided to cut the rest. I felt so mortified. I still can't get over it to this day. And it was so embarrassing cause everyone made it seem like a spectacle when I really was just struggling to find a way to deal with my hair. I finally have, and I have no problem. But I'll never forget that. That was not okay.

Tammy Flores: I lost someone once and stopped taking care of myself. Going to a stylist and having her take care of my hair without judgement, letting me sit quiet as she brushed my hair, I actually cried. It felt so comforting. You are so sweet. Need more compassionate people like you in the world.

Quota Bear: She looks so revived. So glad she found you! Amazing work as always.

Tiffany Smith: You did great. Most people want to always cut the hair off. I love how u were patient and confident to save her hair. U definitely deserve a huge tip and a hug. Blessed

Jodi Leben: I have watched many of your videos and I just wanted to say, you are so kind and compassionate! It is nice to see that in a world full of judgment, there are still kind souls out there who do all they can to boost others rather than tear them down. I know you and I are complete strangers, but I thank God for you and your influence on this world! <3

TheGamingG: I've been in a deep depression for almost 3 years now, since a little before covid started and found your video today.. I finally found a new job, I'm working on my health and I'm FINALLY after about half a year, I am brushing my hair out. Thank you so much for this, this is helping me start taking care of myself again and giving me the first step to start new because I wasn't even sure where to start! I'm in tears because I'm finally feeling like me again, Thank you so much!

cryscross06: She was so okay with you just cutting it off to not inconvenience you, and putting herself second, BUT you did not allow that; for that I applaud you. Sometimes we forget about our selves that we expect others to do the same. I feel like most wouldve gone the easy route. You have the heart, and patience of an angel

Tracey Bland: Have you ever tried to do a apple cider, baking soda rinse in the sink? It's great for breaking down any residual product and matting and also really softens and moisturizes the hair. Follow up with a co wash and leave in for really good hydration. Style with eco and s curl, beautiful curls ❤

musizkaldiva4life: I love your videos. They are just amazing to watch and just comfort. For some reason, my hair did this in the back and I was combing my hair, it just goes through moments so this video helps me know how to manage and tackle my hair the next time. Thanks so much for all you do.

Regina Moore: I've been there when the very THOUGHT of doing ANY self love was so painful.. it's literally HURT... just the bare bone minimum was done. But she's on her way forward.. and that HAIR!!!.. Welcome home sis

Shopping Online: I totally get it, especially with this pandemic and have gone 2 days or so days not combing my hair, ugh! I am white sicilian ethnicity with thick long hair that is challenging to take of so thank you for your channel; I am learning so much!

Ify Nweke: We are in a pandemic! This past year has been hard on everyone, and has impacted all of us differently. Sending love and light to everyone!

PinkVegan77 Cali: You made her feel like a million bucks. She looks gorgeous ❤️❤️

OnidaAtsila: I'm currently going through this...I want to revamp my hair but I let it go for so long in a ponytail. Both of my babies were stillborn, one year after the other. Then was diagnosed with cancer. Still battling it. My ex was abusive and after he finished his abuse left me in a financial bind while I went through my second diagnosis of cancer. I was in a state across the nation as he isolated me from all of my family and friends. Gave me covid and left me to die. I ended up getting covid pnuemonia. And because I laid in bed for so long, my sciatica acted up again. Was put in a wheel chair. Discovered I was pregnant again. I got so depressed and just didn't comb it. I just kept tying it down and putting it in a ponytail with a wig on top. Now it's matted and I'm doing my best to get it back together now that I've gotten the help that I've needed. Was able to get healthier, have a lot of nerve damage but am still pushing through and am up walking on my own again. It's been a serious journey...so yes...kindness is needed and I appreciate this video because maybe I don't have to cut it after all. I'm going to try to sit through it to get it done if my back allows. Thanks so much for your message.

Jeanette Warren: Just when I think that I know what this lady can do…she will show me something new. I love her videos. Keep it up, and consider me a fan.
