Hey guys welcome back to my channel, it's Lexie, I can't eat candy kinks and I'm coming to you guys with probably my biggest fro that I brought to my channel yet cuz. When you guys always see me, my hair is freshly washed and day one twist outs and stuff like that. But this honey is, like the end of my week: braids slash twist style situation, and this is all because I'm coming to you guys with a video that I have done. My research on with my own hair, personal research and this video is how to stop shrinkage and don't get that confused with how to maintain definition in stop shrinkage because for time for hair, I personally don't think that's really the play like I feel like you only Have super defined, hair or really really big, fluffy hair that will fight shrinkage? I know what it's like. I live Miami to leave my house with a nice twist out with a stretched, big big blowout style and come back home in our looking like you have TWA been there. I still go through that, but I have been testing out these different methods to kind of combat it and stop it and leave my house and come back with big hair definition. If you live in a wet area in a humid area, it is hard to maintain definition. That'S why I always use gel for that and I'll have a separate video on how to maintain definition in a humid environment. But this video right here is my tips for stopping and combating shrinkage. Let'S just start like: what's the holdup Alexia, what's what's really the whole job? Are you subscribed, though, like we have reached a thousand subscribers? The joy that I feel is, I can't even describe it. So hit that subscribe button and give me a thumbs up and let's just start, the video already like what what's going on. My first tip is to start on freshly washed hair. That'S like day, one wash your hair and you deep condition. Your hair pick your favorite moisturizing shampoo and your favorite deep treatment mask and knock it out all right as step 1. That'S important because you want your hair to be clean and ready for whatever you're going to put in to add that moisture, and you want your hair to also be super moisturized and treated with care. So pick your favorites right. The next thing you're going to do is pick your favorite moisturizing styling products, so do a twist out a braid out bantu knot out whatever you want to do, but make sure using super moisturizing products. This is not really about hold. This is about giving your hair the best treatment, so I know that I have like puns that I like that. I use all the time and there are ones that I love that I save for you know occasion. So I popped those out and I do my braids out my twist out. You guys know if you see my watched, a video, that I do braid outs for the most part like eight brains in my head, because I'm lazy, where those braids for a day, sometimes two days, because my hair drives very slowly, a very, very thick hair. As you can see, so I will then take those braids out where my hair, in a regular braids out it will shrink up, because that's what for type 4 hair does after that, at about two more days. So now we are on day three or day four of your braids out and if you choose to pineapple, bring it back up at night, that's all up to you, but if you chose some really good moisturizing products, your hair should still have a lot of moisture. If it's dry already find some new products, I have tons of videos on my channel about my favorite about me. Testing out products so go watch those I have a natural hair playlist, and I will obviously link that up here and wherever else, and you can try out some parts that give your hair maximum moisture. I don't think that your hair should be dried out after two and three days you should still feel the oils and the moisture in your hair. If you ask me so it's been two or three days, maybe even four and now you're gon na go out that weekend, you're going to do something that night, you want to have really really big hair. I live for big hair definition is not my thing. I want you ought to see that I have on my head. Honey. Okay, like I want to show out, show up and show out at all times and my hair be big like that's what I want out of my life. So this is the time that we begin to prep our hair for its stopping shrinkage and looking bum. So now I will get liquid oil cream. When I do my braids out, I also do the loc method, liquid oil cream. So I'm going to redo that on day, three or four, even when, even if your hair is still soft, still plush still moisturize you're going to be adding even more moisture, because that moisture is going to block out the moisture in the air. You don't want your hair to be able to soak up any more moisture because it is so so moisturized. So this clip I'm going to put a clip right here and you go see that I'm doing this is my hair. After that day, four or three or four of a braids out, it's very moisturized. I can still feel the oil can still see the oil on my fingertips and I'm going to go ahead and apply aloe vera juice and water mixed together. First then, I go ahead and apply my oil. The oil that I use is the main choice: ancient Egyptian gold collection, oil. I love that oil, but you can use any oil that you want to seal in the moisture from the liquid. Then the cream that I use is a local shea butter mix that I bought at a beauties at abuse along in Orlando. So I will have that link down below if you guys care to stop by, but this is the best shea butter mix I've ever tried and I bought like three or four before I moved out of rolandic, I had to have my hands. I just love this stuff. I only use it like on occasion, so I went ahead and applied those three things. I put my hair into these plots and the next day honey, big, hair, fluffy, hair soft, as can be hair, and I was able to combat shrinkage. So those are my four steps that I use to combat shrinkage. Very, very it very, very easy, definitely try it out and let me know in the comments what you guys do to stop and combat shrinkage. I feel like there are so many different ways that you can get around to having your hair shrink up to a TWA. You guys have seen my hair when it's wet. It'S like this long. You know, comment down below your tips and tricks to stop shrinkage, and if you try this definitely let me know tag me on Instagram Twitter comment. It respond to me back DM me, whatever you want to do, and thank you guys once again for all the love that I have been receiving. It is more than freakin appreciated. You don't even understand, and I will see you in the next one.

Mariah Martin: I absolutely hate shrinkage if it wasn’t for that I would wear my natural hair out all the time .

Jada Sealy: I went out with a full length afro and came back looking like a man

Kally: I feel that - leaving with big hair and coming back with a TWA happened to me today and I felt so defeated...my hair has grown A LOT since I big chopped over a year ago, so it's really disappointing when it ends up looking exactly the same as it did back then. I've been trying to seek definition in my styles but now that you mention it, I'm definitely more about that length like you are, so I appreciate you pointing out that you can't do both!! My hair seems to grow out rather than down, so when it's defined it can look a bit of a strange shape lmao, I'm probs better off going for length/body anyway.

Love Soca: Thank you for representing type 4 kinky hair. I've watched about 10 of your videos back to back!

k77 V: Love your channel we have the same hair type. My hair shrinks so much on wash day too.

Kennedy Mitchell: When I get right out of the shower my curly hair is about waist length and super defined but give it and hour and it’s up to my ears. I hate it

Ciera Desirea: your hair is BEAUTIFUL!thanks for the tips! I can't wait until my fro looks like this people gonna be so tired of me! Lol

Terrazas Victim: Girl, I'm in Miami too. I totally know the struggle. My hair finally reached BSL after 5 years but I would hAve been able to do it earlier in a colder climate

K Swift: im a guy and im so tired of my hair aswell. I dont wanna cut it because i feel bald lol I loved how you brought up braiding out because thats the only way i could have my hair in a puff without it shrinking. I have that same length and texture. definitely will be following this tutorial

T Lashai: When I had my waves, I would brush my hair as I was washing it, and then comb it up to see how much it has grown. Just me wearing my hair that way and brushing it down and keeping it moisturized kept it from shrinking.

Relaxed Riri: Your hair is beautiful!! I'm relaxed but if I go natural one day you're my inspo!

nph136: Your hair looks fab and the lipstick is beautiful

Lesha Lesha: Love those earrings!! But girl i get so much shrinkage I understand the struggle . Btw i make hair videos too!

mswtaz94: I know I’m late seeing this. The only things that have stopped shrinkage for me is silicones and hair grease. If I use a lot of moisturizing products and seal with oil or butter, my hair shrinks right up. Especially if it’s glycerin in it. It’s hard to find things without it. If I do the LOC method, my hair is dry and cuticles raised. I’ve never used gel, so I’ll have to check out your video. I can’t find the video you referenced about using gel in a humid environment. Can you link it?

Jay R: Hi gurl!! I just discovered your channel and I' finally finding someone with hair exactly like mine! I love your videos I have really thick 4b/c hair. Is your hair high porosity or low? thanks for answering!!

I’m Awkward: I love my type 4 hair but when I stretch it I need it to STAY THAT WAY

M&M: here is what I do, I have a spray bottle mix ( it has rosemary, tea trea, pepper mint and water in it) that step one then I have a shea butter mix I made( it has olive oil, coconut oil, olive oil and avocado oil and shea butter in it) step two and lastly curl enhancing smoothie step 3. what do you think of this??

Yolonda Campbell: I live for big hair also!!! ( new subbie)

Belinda Awuku: Your makeup is so simple n yet beautiful

Irene Lewis: how does the deep conditioner you showed work? im looking for a really great deep conditioner for thick, high porosity, type 4c hair

Diamond: Hey girl hey. Is the name of the butter you used called Natural Tresses Twisting Butter? Also, what are the ingredients of it? I tried looking for them on their website but they don’t list them

Sonia Harewood: Further to my last comment, I may try a stretching technique on my twist out on wash day.

Sankofa afoknas: Your hair and skin...flawless

Sherri Danner: Gorgeous! How do you stretch your hair? Do you have a video showing that?

Sonia Harewood: I too have realised that twist outs don't work on my shrunken 4c hair. On wash day I do a braid out or put my hair in a bun.Two days later I do a dry twist out.

Wendy Durrant: You are so pretty and you natural hair looks gooood . I think natural hair is so hard to maintain but I’m hanging in there.u

myzz sorhlyce wesley: Wow I needed this Sis

Pamm Meee: List your products in the description box.

Elohor Eva Alordiah: *Hahahahaa My Hair be big, thats what I want out of my Life!"* LOL! I feel you honey

Vinnette Pope: Your hair looks beautiful.✋

Natural Since Birth: I've tried just about everything. Even products advertised/labeled as anti-humectant. I don't know what to do anymore, it's sad especially living in Orlando.

Toyin O: just found your channel. Finally a similar hair texture to mine.. Someone that looks like me.

Angie L: you have beautiful skin and hair girl!

Jenillef: You: “I want y’all to see that I have hair on my head honey “ Me: OKAAYYYY????? OKAYYYYY BIHHHHH!!!!!

Tysunshine1: Hi! Love this... what's Shea butter mix???

Brenda Wash: Just subbed! What brand of aloe Vera juice and what ratio do you mix it with water? 50-50? Thanks!

Karla Suazo: Hey boo what is the shade of the lip color your wearing i love it

% 𝙵𝟺𝙸𝚁𝚈 𝙱𝟶𝙽𝙴𝚂 %: Why isn't my hair like others?!??! When I get in the shower my hair gets SHORT and when I get out it's soking wet, AND ITS WET

Infinite Quality: My hair is 1 inch when I wash it

House of farts: Humidity is literally about to make me relax my hair ugggggghhhhhhh

MsLeelee94: new subbie!

Erlanda Joseph: I live in Miami , who do u refer for trimming hair

AlexciaLinette: New Subbie...and we have the same name!!!!

Lil Kimbu: Saying this as a guy, i hate combing out my hair having it looking really good and decent/okayish for least but den i come back home with it looking very nappy and dry af cuz as a straight dude i wonder how other females see me and ik my hair plays a big ass roll on my head suiting/complementing my face by alot, like idk if yall black dudes or girls can relate tho i can only speak as a dude cuz dats what i am , like if yall know d fucking kinda depression about your looks alone that shrinkage of hair can do cuz den you gone realize and be thinking thats what other girls see you as and ik it isn't a natural thing cuz i remember when i could of come back home and see my hair looking decent and be moist like 2yrs ago, but litsen your a beautiful lady with beautiful hair ima give you a like but if that hair trick actually work ima subscribe Bet that shit, so now i think i can walk in school and feel comfortable with everyone who sees me in general specifically the girls, and last thing for yall who wondering what age as a guy im saying this "im 14" well rn til next yr , gotta take care of your body in general from young
