Hey, fam! So I've reached armpit length for the third time in my natural hair journey (I was able to grow it from collarbone length in November) and I think I'm getting the hang of this so I just thought I would share some useful tips I used to grow my hair lol Too bad I will be getting this tapered cut in a week or two... hopefully haha

Hey fam welcome back to my channel. My name is Jim okay, if you're new here and if you like videos like this, don't forget to subscribe and thumbs up, so you can see more videos, um yeah. So this is a third time and my natural hair journey that I've reached arm pit lane and I just kind of wanted to share some fun conventional ways and tips that I used to get there. But first we actually go see this little light check. I got conditioner in my hair, but yeah my hair is dry and it needs to be detangle. You can see, let's get in there, okay and the screamer. This is just what I do with my hair and over the course of my four years being natural. That'S what works for me, but nobody over here is what what we're for me, sis, alright! So let's get in it, okay! So the way I'm going to do this list, I'm going to go from most conventional, to least conventional. So the first thing that I did with my hair is no brainer. I wore my hair protected. Most of the time I wore hats, wigs buzz ponytails. My hair was usually out of the way this time around from last year to this year. I just I just had my hair up or out of my face usually, and this project was a lot better because since my hair was more protected, my hair is not as sun-bleached as a was previous years, because my hair is actually really brown and I'll show. You guys right now dice de Wit, wow. I got some natural brows here, but then, when I start protecting my hair, my rooms start coming in. There were a lot darker than the rest of my hair. I even think that black people could get some bleach hair. Like this, but apparently because I have fine hair and the Florida Sun, my hair was always out during that time. So, but the Sun bleached parts of my hair, they actually were a lot weaker than the rest, is, I wouldn't say, was damages just it didn't retain moisture as well. I felt like when I would twist or braid it up. My ends would be a little bit more fuzzier than the rest of my hair, so my hair is a lot stronger now that I'm keeping it out of the Sun more so the second tip is that I focus on on ingredients and technique. Rather then, products because people always ask me we're going to do a video showing all proxies. I'M like you, don't matter what products I use you can have. What I tell y'all. Okay, you can have shampoo laced with liquid gold. You can have conditioners saturated with the freshest unicorns here you can even have the holiest oil that King David used and anoint it on himself. But if you don't know how to use any of these products and not going our work for you, let me tell you it's not about the product. It'S about the ingredients in the techniques of how you use these things. My favorite methods, as you guys know, is the curly girl method and the max hydration method. No-Brainer, but y'all know the max. Hydration was a little too strenuous for me, so I switch right back to crow girl method and for me I just tend to use products that contained water, glycerin fatty alcohols, such as, like cetera or settle alcohol on my hair, and usually I'm able to see if It'S critical friendly and it had those ingredients in it. I'M able to tell by the ingredients list it will work on my hair, so sometimes there's some products that could work better for my hair, but I just know usually what's going to work on my hair and what's not going to work on my hair. So, usually, that's what I focus on so the third thing is that a strictly finger, detangle y'all, already know this. I'M an advocate for finger detangling because my hair is big and it's fine, so tools na na yang galangal see that my hair and I know um, you know once like once a year I do try to. I try to attempt to straighten my hair, but besides that, once a year I don't put tools in my hair at school. Neither wipe too cold not be seeing people Denman brush it. That'S great! That'S fantastic, but for me, is not going to work. I'M like I'm, not gon na, be sitting here, losing all my hair for what so that's the third way that I use that the third method I used to keep link. The fourth thing is to trim your hair when needed. Trim your hair booboo, like see-through heads, is not cute trim your ends, because you know why, if you don't trim your ends, the splits that you have in your hair going to keep traveling higher and higher and higher, and that's what happened to me two years ago When I was using brushes on my hair like a dummy and they would split my eggs and then it will keep traveling and I would keep trying to like just trim it just a little bit me just trim me, because I want to keep the light and It just kept traveling higher and higher and higher, and it was just oh the best example. I can give you so you can understand why trimming is so necessary. Imagine a monster realistic. I know you guys seem like the sticks that you peel apart now, if it breaks in the middle it's going to keep peeling that monster, lipstick, won't, keep peeling and peeling and peeling it's not going to fix itself. So it's going to keep traveling and traveling and you're just going to have a mess so cut you're here when you need to trim cut whatever trim you hit. The fifth thing is that my hair is always stretched, always stretched whether it's in a barn, doodle braids, a blowout whatever my hair is always stretched because it just keeps from tangling. I just can't stand take like I, I can't yeah, but it prevents uncontrollable penguin now in regards to keeping my hair stretched. The sixth thing is that I never allow uncontrollable shrinkage. I just don't do it and uncontrollable shrinkage. What I mean is, I know some people love doing like wash and goes like real wash and goes like they wash their hair and they let it be and it shrinks on itself and it dries and it shrinks. I cannot do that. I realized after the first year being natural when my hair got like past shoulder legs, I'm uh, I can't I can't. I can't I can't, but I can only allow uncontrollable shrinkage if it's in a washable and I have the gel in my hair. So the gel keeps everything in their own spot, so all the curls they have their own place. But in my hair it's fuzzy and it's pro light and I just let us drink up on myself. Everything is that's what they doing it, and I can't I can't. Okay, okay, can't do it so seventh way that I retain length was that I always thought insisted here spell. I know it was kind of boring but me having a consistent, predictable hairstyle. It just kind of saved a lot of stress in the manipulation. My hair is usually in a bud or it's not braid out with a side part. It'S not that I can't do other styles, but I just know what works best for my hair. What I'm most comfortable with I know some people know we're going to do. Do cells I'm like wow, because I've tried to do but dancing on all that I got that all out of my system, the first two years to be a natural them bear to not in and Lexi rotten and permed a rotten okay. I'Ve got all that out. The first two years - and I'm just like - I think, I'm going to fix of this because you know half the time yeah it's because my shape the mullet you already know the light hair is just add. The other half one-third is because of my shape. One-Third is because my hair is thin and it don't let me prosper because it just don't look cute and the other third is because I want look like a poodle okay, why some people likes a little curly and I'm like I just just I'm just waiting for Me to get this taper cut and we can flourish, but anyways now we're started getting into the more unconventional ways that I keep laying. So the eighth tip I would give is that I never let a week go by without hydrating my hair protect the princess. Actually has a great video that I'll link here and I'll put in the description box of the difference between moisturizing and hydrating moisturizing, it's like if you take a sponge right when you spritz it with water yeah, it gets a little bit damp. But it's that it's moisturized, if you don't get in what's hot and then you squeeze it out like that, that's hydration when it's fully saturated that is hydration but yeah. I never let a week go by without saturating my hair and oh you guys heard me saying earlier video that I was going to moisturize my hair this year and I'm gon na do moisturize but usually like if I moisturize my hair, just a little dry. But my hair's really try. I would TV sigh water and then I'll put it back into a bun or something like, but I have to put my head into what's hot because I can't have my hair just dry. Just pretty, please please and it's too dry. I can't do it can do it okay, so the next unconventional thing is that I always keep my hair between. I say like 50 to 80 % hydration. The max hydration method taught me a lot about black hair, why our hair is kinky, so our here is naturally dry, but we actually hydrate our here less than other textures, even though we should be hydrating the most so for us like we already have, because if You'Re pink, your hair is just naturally drawn, but then we use products that deplete our hear of moisture. And then you know that this is really what the curly girl method and max hydration method aims combat. But I learned a lot about black hair and keeping my hair hydrated more. So for me, at the moment I already know I don't follow the max hydration method and the curly girl method by the book, because one I got time to I got time. That'S because I want to, but it did really teach me a lot about my hair and how to take care of my hair, but usually when I was doing the crosier method or the max hydration method by the book, like by the step. My here was usually a 90 % hydration like y'all like it was that's it, but how to know what hydration you're here is usually max. Hydration method, you guys want their site, it's a root to tip definition. And yes, yes, yes, I'm gon na keep saying this. Keep saying this every year, if you have here that is not straighten, you have texture, you have a curl pattern, even for ABCD efg hijk. All that you have a curl pattern and it can clump is just for your hair to be able to see clumps curled. It has to be hydrated like it has to be constantly hydrated like when I stop the myth, once I was doing the methods that 90 % hydration most of the time when I stop is sold back to like 70 60, but usually I keep it within a Certain range, because of its less than 50 % hydration, my hair is dry. My hair will break my hair is brittle, so I cannot have my hair less than 50 % hydration. So when my hair starts to get down to 50 %, cuz, usually by wash day, is usually when I have the hydration and my hair will be like - maybe about 70 % hydration and that's Dave lunch here, but then over time you know over the days like My hair obviously loses more hydration and will plummet down to like this to you by, like maybe day for by day, for I need to hydrate my hair in 90s and just my head of water or something cuz sprinting at that point is really not going to Do it better, like maybe raise it up like 5 %, but my hair is still going to be dry like in 12 hours or whatever, but how I know that my hair is a lower hydration. Usually I start to see like little pieces of like my ends. Like my kinks, they start. I see it when I manipulate my hair when I touch my hair when it's in the sink, and I see just like little dusty pieces. That'S when I know it's either one if my hair is hydrated, and I see that I'm your turn or two. My hair is dry. I need to hydrate, so I'm gon na just tell you right now that if your hair is breaking uncontrollably every time you touch it every time you manipulate it. That thing is breaking this: nothing big under 50 %. So I got again. We got ta, get hydrated sponge-like put down the oil while Engle save you. You need some water so again that shallow put some water on your hair because I think is dry. So the testing that I do that helps me retain Lanie. This is very unconventional, but I did tangle my hair right before I style it. Yes, here I would tell you when I'd be single, so I pretty cool my hair. I shampoo my hair. I deep condition my hair ain't detangling, yet I put my products in for my moisturizer, my oil and right before I style it. That'S what I do think with I: don't some people they'll be contending that every single step I do this before they go going to shower detangle I wan na shower the table, but when they have the products disable. Ah, it's too much for me for me either wai-wait and usually my hair is really tangled by this stage, but my here is the strongest after it's been washed and deep conditioned. So if I'm trying to detangle my hair when it's dry, it's just more prone to breakage - and it just doesn't make sense for me to do that if my hair is 50 percent hydrated, so usually by prom. I'M all done - and I put my butters and my leave in my hair - is all strong and healthy. That'S when I detangle it, because I feel like that's what it could handle the manipulation better than handling it beforehand, so it seems counterintuitive, but that's what I've been doing for the past, maybe three years, I guess but yeah, that's just what I do to retain length. I just defend my hair when it's at its strongest point. The lovin things that I did is that I don't do tangle fully and I know it seems like why. But let me tell you know I got some keke or type or Nigerian hair. That thing is going to tangle up again in five minutes. Why I'm gon na be sitting here wasting my I just be nice for people 3 hours 3 hours. I take to tell me my hair through ala. Ha life is just passing by people outside playing and you are inside. You signal your head, but I'm going to do that. Ok me, if you and 70 % detangle is good for me. It'S fine! I don't be doing any of these. Oh, oh sure, all my hair, putting all this plexi rollator already styled. I don't do braids out we size up. If you are good, you know no, it looks good. That is the top thing I did was that I prayed y'all life is there's so many times that I wanted to just give up on my hair, and I was just so sad and disheartened because my hair, I would try something with my hair and it doesn't Look like the girls on YouTube or i'ma difficulty, my hair too much and is breaking and I'm trying to force it to do something it doesn't want to do it. It'S not cooperating huh the struggle. I was actually inspired by Daphne Madara. She got a low ball ahead to a booty. She was like Erick rate to God, and you know pretty goth along here, and I was like, oh sure so sounds like you forget that God actually cares about these like know things that we see so trivial, but he cared to my god. You know every hair on my head, I don't even know every hair on my head yeah. I did one who gave me the stick. You will show me how to take care of it. So I just prayed. I said God help me. What should I do with my hair, and I kid you not - that I would have something drop in my spirit or Holy Spirit will lead me to like a certain product or method, and am i okay? True, even I was having difficulties in my hair for and I was humming tune self having I got paper cut or whatever no bike paper cut. I never thought about that. So I lift this Allah. My Allah true. This is like Cola ja. U I was like. Oh yeah right, I try that so. For me, I prayed so that I will show me how to take care of my hair, but that's just one of the things that I've done and the last thing that I do to grow out. My hair was that I love my gear and I don't seem it's a very conventional and it seems kind of cliche because you hear it all time love your hair. There Bruce is here it's so much harder than you think, and I'm really trying to talk to the girls clap here like me, who has imperfect here, who have been here five years low, porosity, hair high string could share alopecia like I'm talking to y'all, because it's Harder side know and it's kind of petty, but I low-key, I really dislike what girls clap like 3a 3b here tell girls like oh we're. Fourth year, oh just embrace our here, I'm like it's been as easy for you to say it's busy. It'S hard to have imperfect tears and when you love something you really want to care about it. You really want to know what your hair, like so what it doesn't like, because if you hate your hair you're going to be using it you'll be breaking it. You'Ll be manipulating, it you'll be trying to force it. It'S something that you that it does not want to do, because you don't like your hair and it would just not be cooperating and be hit anymore. It'S hot! It'S hot! If I went the stopping of our hair as a flaw, because you keep thinking that way, that's how your is going to be - and I know it's not easy - why you went natural first and then, a few years there, your first one natural and not they passed. You it's not easy when you spend your whole life growing out your hair, just for your thin here, cachoeira just look the same as it did when you big chopped, it's not easy. If you love your hair, when you can't find products that work with your low porosity here, it's not easy to look at yourself in the mirror, wonder why your hair is not looking the way that it does with all these other girls are useful, but they're thick Here, it's not easy to conceal your bald spot because you got allocation. Y'All is not easy to look imperfect here, but who will what to stop thinking of your hair? That'S the problem! You will stop having a problem. Yes, that is it. I hope you guys enjoy this video. I really do want this to be like a space that we can talk about things. So I want you guys if you guys have any unconventional ways that used to grow your here or just tip that you used to like learn your here. I love your hair. You know, let's talk in the comment section, we can call me and don't forget to hit a like, don't forget to subscribe, so we can so you can still stay and see some more videos like this and yeah. You guys later bye.

Destiny Whitemon: "Once you stop looking at your hair as the problem, you will stop having a problem." that's deep

Kataya Parson: I clicked on this Video Soooooo fast! The ending almost made me cry! I swear I needed this today because I am that girl who is always watching other naturals on YouTube with full hair, wishing my hair was like theirs. Thank you so much for this video you have helped me learn to embrace my thin fine 4c natural hair!!

J A: I have prayed to God and have cried about this hair of mine. Then God showed me this video. Finally, a YouTuber who has experienced, understands, and one that I can relate in every way. You have spoken the truth! Thank you so much for this video!

LIVE WELL with Charity: ....That feeling you get when you find your long lost sister! YOU ARE MY PEOPLE! Much love and many thanks for referencing my little video:) This video was like a warm blanket and I enjoyed every minute! #TEAMFINEHAIR #newsubbie

Myname Here: Thank you for this video! Having mixed type 4 hair can be difficult but this thin, fine, low-density game is rough. This was very encouraging.

Knox Kiarra: I watched nappily ever after, and told myself I have to start loving my own hair. If I can't look in the mirror, and see my own hair as beautiful then how can I expect it from everyone else. LOVE YOUR HAIR!

Mane Stage: I did it twice, so it's possible! Once I grew down to my waist from a bc, then cut did a bc again and grew down to hips. Everything you say is on-point...down to detangling right before styling and detangling JUST ENOUGH. As a fine natural I say the best thing I could've ever done was leave loose curly hairstyles alone. Fine hairs love to hook on to each other.

SomethingOhMy: Girl, yes at the hair not looking right after doing certain styles! My twistouts and Bantu knot outs be looking sparse; it's like 35% of hair barely holding onto the curl. The other 65% is scalp....just pure scalp.

Melli Mel: When you went natural first, and others pass you. Yes maam I get that one. Fine kinky hair is so fragile.

Kayla Johnson: oh my goodness, you're like my hair twin! my hair is like cotton, and tangles easily (I swear I've described my hair the SAME way you described yours by slapping and clapping your hands everywhere LOL). And it's fine and thin! Oh the good lord blessed me by leading me to your page and this video! thanks for sharing :))))

Napturally Tamed: Your tips are GOLD I’m learning to embrace my fine hair and everything you said was

Jasmine Hill: This is exactly what I needed. I'm taking down my locs that I've had for three years because I never learned to embrace my 4c loose natural hair. This is a journey I need to go on and your videos are giving me the pep talk I need before I start this new chapter.

Miss4C: Great tips. I detangle only once too. Initially to save time but now I noticed I lose less her when I detangle once. Either at the prepoo stage, rinsing under running water, after deep condition or styling stage. I only prepoo with a cheap conditioner to dampen my hair mid-shaft to tips. This moistens my ends and makes it easy to twist it in 10 sections to prepare for washing in twists

Tiffany Watson: Usually, I skip thru the videos to get to the "how-to" part. But I must say that I watched your video from beginning to end. And Yes, the end did make me tear up. Your video has been the MOST helpful out of all of the ones I watched for many reasons. Our textures are EXACTLY alike. I've been natural since 2010 (7 years!) and my hair only recently grew a little past neck-length. I always asked myself what's the problem. I think I'm finally getting the understanding now to make my hair journey work. I had a similar situation where a friend reminded me that I can pray about this because God does care; And a woman's HAIR IS HER GLORY. I'm going to really embrace that point (along with the other tips) and look forward to satisfactory success. Thank you for sharing!

SarahK: #12 made me pause this video, and have a small prayer session for myself and my other natural (4c) friends. This is a great video!!

auTOBIographer: Found this and just wanted to say I’m glad people with thin hair are finally saying something! It’s so tiring to see people with 2-3x hair and no representation for people with finer hair

idara ekere: Thanks for this video, I am so glad that I already do majority of these cause I discovered them myself. No combing strictly for the past year plus, no wash and go, no shampoos, no crazy styles like the Bantu and twist outs, no putting in extensions. I just embrace my hair and style it minimally.

theohsospontaneous: Girl, you told no lies. You spilt all the tea! These are the steps I use as well and my hair flourishes! Especially with regards to hydrating/moisturising

canada7082: Young lady, you’re videos have blessed me tonight!! My hair is very similar to yours right down to the Alopecia Areata, as well as the low porosity, texture, and density. I just jumped out the gate and released my imperfect hair from under wigs, weaves, and crotchets a couple of weeks ago. I just needed to be free from the bondage of not embracing my hair for what it was. It hasn’t been easy. I get a lot of side-eyes @ work and in public. But I keep moisturizing, styling, and getting cute each day like my hair is bomb! I love your personality...and you seem to hve an amazing spirit! Keep shining...& thanks so much for the inspiring videos!

Ndeye Thioubou: This is so late but this video lifted my spirits about my fine, delicate, low porosity awkward stage 4c hair.... having the courage to keep on trudging through the battles thank you!

India Moon: Thank you so much for the ending!! Because I have it all: Short, 4c, Thin, alopecia hair. I've been natural for 5 years and still struggling.

Murlette Turnbull: On Love and Life: I've been natural for many years and I usually resort to just cutting it off whenever I get frustrated. Thank you for your honesty in this video. You summed up my whole life with thin/fine natural hair!

Candace: This video is EVERYTHING I needed to hear today! Thank you! Definitely for reminding me to pray about my hair!

dreammakar: I needed to hear this today after feeling like giving up on my frizzy, thin hair that doesn't seem to grow or ever look the way I want it to. Trying so hard to love this mess on my head.

theonetruediamond: Love this video! So true for us thin fine natural hair ladies, I could relate to getting frustrated watching girls on YouTube do all these styles an when I did mine it never looked like theirs

Camryn Jackson: Girl, wow. This helped so much! It’s so hard to find others on here with a hair type similar to mine... but this just made me feel so much less alone. Everything you said spoke volumes. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤️

GodLovesVon: Girl you had me laughing at the freshest unicorn tears and the King David comment. Lol. I've come to the conclusion that I got to do what works for me.☺

Jessica DeAnna: I've become one of those naturals that detangles all throughout wash day. And you are so right, who has time for that?! It really does drag out your wash day.

jenjenv88: this is so true. not only do we need to embrace it we need to support one another. together united! tfs

Afrakoma: My fellow West African sister, I salute you #GHStandUp I'm subscribing for your succinct talk about the hair struggles and the code switching Thanks for tips and your simple hair routines. I done tire from some of these type 4 hair gurus who don't keep it real.

MegaChanny21: Thank you for this. After being natural for 8 months I'm so distraught over my hair. Still having left over perm and also having thin and fine hair I am just ready to cut it all off in hopes that it grows back like the other youtubers with thick luxurious hair. You have given me hope.

Tyela McGee: This is exactly what I needed to see! I've had thin/fine hair my whole life and I want to take care of it better! Happy I discovered you, new subbie!! ❤️❤️

Simply JazzyD: Great video!!! I normally don't want videos on how to grow hair because they all say the same thing and it's usually irrelevant to my super thin hair but you dropped so many gems in this video! I've gotten away from keeping my hair hydrated at all times but this video reminded me I need to get back to that because my hair was so easy to manage when I did that.

BlessbyGod56: I loved your video! It spoke to many of my hair issues, and you addressed every issue very well. Thank you.

LaRonda YJJ: This is a great video. I have been natural for 10 years with my fine/thin hair. I have been thru it all, but over the last 4 years, I took bits and pieces of tips from each video (thank you Youtube sisters!!) and came up with my own style. I thought I was the only one with natural hair who had maybe two to three fly hairstyles and that is it. We are definitely in sync with more than half of these tips, so thank you for enlightening me with the other tips. God Bless You!

Tina O.: This was so informative and inspiring! Thank you so much Naija beauty

Cicely Robinson: Love this! You hit every issue I have with my hair. Thank you!

moonfairymomo: I'm so glad I found your channel! I've always had fine/thin hair. Certain styles just don't look right on me when I try it (twist outs is the main one lol). I also have low porosity hair. I'm trying to take better care of my hair, because it's usually oily, but when I don't take care of it by moisturizing it, it gets really dry and starts getting brittle and breaking either way, I really like you're channel! I'm a new subscriber ❤️

NaturalBeautee7: Thank you so much for this video ✊ especially that last comment... I'm going through everything you said right now... I love my hair but I constantly get discouraged & disappointed at the fact that I've been Natural 2 years and ppl are hitting their 1 year mark and their hair is way past mine I also have scarring alopecia which left a spot in my center part as you said, it's hard to style around that spot but I definitely try my hardest! My hair is constantly dry no matter what I use so I know that's probably hindering my growth! I trim when needed and I don't use heat! I use the LOC method and I'm a 4B/4C with moderately course hair... I'm for sure going to start hydrating more. Currently, I cowash every Saturday... I Prepoo & deep condition as well! Maybe If I add another cowash on Wednesday too that'll help?? So full wash routine on Saturday & just cowash & style on Wednesday to keep my hair hydrated??? Please help I'm sure God is tired of me begging him for more hair

Priscilla: Wow, you really spoke the truth! 'When your friends started going natural after you but their hair length has surpassed yours!' So pleased I bumped into your video! Thanks for the support and all the godly advice, I shall heed to it :)

Micaela Hassell: As a white girl who just randomly stumbled across you video when looking into taking care of my fine hair better. You had some great tips for all thin haired people in the world. And as someone who has had alopecia totalis in the past I loved how you talked about it as a fact of life and not necessarily as a negative! Thank you for your wisdom and possitive attitude.

Eve Williams: You are spot on with all your tips. Great video. I think straightening or texturizing our hair should be a choice if we want to, but many have done this for so long they feel scared to change. In my case chemo/alopecia caused me to lose most of hair on top and its very thin at the front but around the back and sides it has grown long, thanks to tips I learned through natural video blogs. So I can at least cover most of the bald areas. I am grateful because now I know my hair can grow fast and longer than it would have done if I had continued to straighten it which I can't any more as it is too thin for that now. I really need the frizz at the front! Love the suggestion to pray. I do that as well and it works.

Shaneka G: I'm so glad to see your hair doing well! I really enjoyed the video. It was very informative and motivating, especially the part about prayer. As you said we forget that God cares about the little things and the big things. I never had a perm but never had my hair grow to armpit length. I would to see that happen. And yes, we need to love our type 4 hair and stop seeing it as a problem. And I too have low porosity hair. How often do you shampoo your hair?

Yaqiyn Abdul-Zahir: I Loved this video! Soo helpful. I have fine and thin 4b coils I’m pretty sure they’re at a constant 40% hydration outside of wash day Thank you so much for sharing!!

Melanie Fant: FINALLY!!!! Someone with my exact hair type! I could cry! Thank you girl! I will give this natural thing another try now

Shakenya Burch, Ed.S. LPC: Thank you so much for this video!! The fine hair struggle is too real!!

Natalie Best: Love this video. You really spoke about all the things that play with our mind when it come to our hair.

Brenda Jackson: I just Luv yah. You really impressed me with this video. You got me with praying about this. I have prayed but with little faith. At 68 years of chemicals, I was about to give up that I could go natural or grow my hair. Thank you for having such a connectible personality. You really have inspired me. God bless you.

Every Day Is Sunny: The BEST hair advice video EVER. And trust me, I've watched A TON of these during my 7 plus years of watching hair YouTube videos. Our hair is quite similar. I just had to subscribe for the Naja accent alone ❤

Stel Gee: #12 & 13 is just so right for everybody...once you accept and embrace your hair type, everything changes.. I did another big chop mid last year and decided to accept my hair, take care of it and rock it and it’s now past shoulder length

Joy Roberson: You are hilarious! I wish I knew about your channel when I first went natural. Your videos are truly what I need for my thin hair. Thank you!

tequilashots875: Girl I just subscribed to your channel. I have been on YouTube FOREVER trying to find someone with thin/fine hair. I always wanted to know what I was doing wrong when I see girls who big chopped and a year later their hair caught up to mine and I was natural 4 years. It was so frustrating. I needed to hear this from you. Thank you!!!!

Queen I-Wisdom Earth: My sister ! We have the same exact head of hair. You’ve enlightened me about moisture vs hydration. I know for a fact my hair is grand after showers and a deep condition. I have a habit of using combs to setbacks every step of the way, ultimately loosing hairs. I will start detangling right before styling. Even though, my hair is mostly on a protective style between twists and box braids. I just braid am and go. Moisturize my scalp with my homemade lavender and castor oil and homemade spray concoction. Boom. That is it. And I also take biotin. I think lessening the times I detangle will help with a fuller body. Thank you for this informative video!

V. Kelsey: Hey there! Just found your channel and wanted to tell you that I love your spirit! And also that I'm glad I listened to this vid. I've been struggling with how to best care or my natural 4c hair for about a year. My hair is more on the extreme opposite end in that it is super thick and coarse. More hair can be just as complicated as thinner hair when you don't know what to do with it. But the texture and nature of your hair does sound a lot like mine. So it's nice to hear someone else say that for some girls, it can be a trickier process. Please keep making videos-I'm gonna try the praying tip now, lol.

Brandi Wilson: Love your spirit! I have hair that is very similar to yours and you ain’t lying that it’s a STRUGGLE working with thin, fine, imperfect hair!! I’m trying to be patient but it is definitely hard...and being lazy doesn’t help lol. But you hit it on the head when you said “love your hair—pay attention to what it likes, what it needs, etc”...so true Thank you for sharing your experience and these tips...my hair will be in my prayers tonight ❤️

Natalie: I'm glad that I clicked on this video! It is so hard for me to love my hair because it is thin and fine. I get discouraged that I can't find videos that cater to girls with hair like me. I wish more fine/thin hair girls did videos. Thank you for inspiring me to love my hair!!

Fran Clark: Loved, loved, loved this - your tips, your energy and your accent. Fed up with armpit length hair so I'm on mission. Will look into hydration as I think that is key. Thank you for a well thought out, informative and fully entertaining video!

Comfort Witcher: I am so glad I found your videos. This is my daughter's hair to the T! Her hair even gets sun bleached too. It's great to see some YouTube videos for her hair type!!!!

Latasha Thomas: I never heard of the max hydration method, but that’s what I’ve been doing. My curls pop. They are small, but they are well defined. When my hair is that defined I don’t have to detangle as much. I use the prayer hands while in the shower. I don’t need to detangle any more than that. I protective style when my hair is wet - braids.

Angela Cox: I'm so grateful I found your channel! I've been in tears not understand why my hair isn't thick. Why can't I do certain styles?! Did not know what to do with it. Ready to just press it and move on. But you truly just gave me hope. I'm going to follow these steps and I'm sure things will turn around for me. Thank you!!!

Wendy West: I am so happy I found your page. You are speaking to my thin/fine natural hair struggles!

vanessa lawshee: I love your videos. Your words of encouragement have helped me enjoy my natural hair.

Teresa: Girl. I needed this video so much! When you described letting your hair shrink after it got to shoulder length???? I was there with you.

Journee Harris: Short 4c fine strand, low density head of hair stopping by to say THANK YOU I feel seen and heard. I’m excited to love on my hair more!

Regina Armstrong: Thank you for this vid. You were def talking to ppl like me. 4c, fine, alopecia, all of that. People can't tell bc my hair does look thick but it's thin at the top. Great tips. We have to love our hair.

Me: New subscriber!! this joint on my head is like a brillo pad and I am a licensed stylist so to do hair for a living and see miracles daily and not be able to do mine was The absolute worse thing ever! I have been listening to the Spirit and have recently locked my hair and I'm so proud of it! Love the way you have listened and followed the Holy Spirits leading and become a voice for us 4b 4c thin hair ladies! Thin hair does not mean you are able to see our scalp we have the ability to maintain length as well, also the way mother naija slips in a little igbo every now and then oooo!!

Katrina Sims: Great video! I have thin hair too and I'm constantly looking for styles that will look right on my hair.

Lola Bigcups: I used to wish I had 4c hair. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, then I found your channel and I understood that I just had low porosity fine hair.

Michelle Feller: This video is hilarious and truth! I have 4 whatever hair that is very fine and kinky just like yours and I never detangle 100%, ever! No time for that! It took many years to accept my hair just as it is and you have some great advice. Like your attitude and spirit!

Tariro Chagwiza: thank you so much for this!! pray and embrace your hair for real.. and its really hard to love this thin fine natural hair. but when you do? its such an amazing feeling

Keleisha Edwards: Our detangling methods are quite similar. I detangle my hair a few hours after my products are in and it has absorbed the goodness. I also dont thoroughly detangle my hair, I could pass the comb through my hair perfectly from root to tip, stop to sneeze and try to run the comb through again and it won't budge as if I didnt just thoroughly detangle it 2 seconds ago. So I just try to get any major tangles and shed hair out and go about my business.

AllThingsToeseen: Jumoke! Thank you so much for this video. I have thin fine yada yada *just insert every kind of struggle possible* hair. I have gone from frustrated to mad to 'it's whatever I don't care', all the way back to 'hmm imma try this' lol, like the struggle has been beyond real! Going on 5 yrs and my hair is just, I don't want to say laughable, so I'll just say 'in a league of its own' lol. But videos like this, and reading people's comments take me back to the hopeful phase. Anyway, thanks a lot for this wonderful video.

pyrplebutterfly: Such a GREAT video...there are so few videos for 4c thin/fine hair on YouTube. Makes people with 4c fine/thin hair wonder what's wrong with their hair when they see a style on another natural then truly it and it's a flop. Thank you for your honesty and wisdom...blessings to you!

DaisyFeverTIME: Thank you for this. I never understood why my hair had to be thin, low density, and mixed 4 hair. Hell I'm 10 months into transitioning and I still can't figure out why the middle of my hair clumps and the outer layer fizzes.

A. Garden: OMG!!! I ❤ this video & I needed to hear EVERYTHING you just said.... my natural hair is exactly like yours and I've recently decided to stop getting extensions and really start embracing my natural hair! Trial and error with products, and everything! Thank you so much for sharing!

Marra Joelle: I'm here for everything you just said! Especially uncontrollable shrinkage. If I do a wash and go it is stretched to the max because that detangling session will be hellish and I know I won't want to take the time.

Desiree Cunningham: Thank you so much you've made me feel so much better about my hair ... I believe I have 4 d hair ... it can be pretty stressful but I have hope

Ze-Enna Jenkins: I'm so inspired by your videos. I have fine thin hair and have been getting the Dominican blow out for YEARS. So I'm sure I am making matters worse! this "thang" grows so slow and since I've been rocking this blow out consistently .... my ends no longer curl. grant it, before I started getting blow outs... I had straight ends. braids, rods, water, nothing curls this hair

Yvonne Murindiwa: So glad I found your videos. Ya, I get it now, we genetically got thin hair. Thank you

DivineLilyLove: I praise God for this video! And I love Daphne too! So encouraging and I absolutely love your spirit! I smiled the whole video!

Katrina Mosley: This is honesty on all levels. I embrace you because I really thought it was know hope for me with having thin & fine hair. Until I found your Utube video's.. Now I happy with my own hair... Thank you.

Elove Xx: This video made me feel A LOT better. Thank you.

K'allDay: Best video for natural thin, fine hair I have seen in yrs!!! You a bright, brilliant, caring, HILARIOUS and God fearing! I was about to throw in the towel. My hair is fine and kinky and I was beyond frustrated to the point of putting glue in my hair and leaving it in way too long(busy working mom). I would have no option but to cut the glue out of my hair and start over so there went length retention and even more thinning of my hair. Enough of my venting..... Thank you my dear sis. Continue to shine and show God through you!!! Blessings! Subbed.

Carissa Perry: I really needed this!! I have spent so many hours looking at youtube videos of women with full, thick hair. My hair is fine and grows slowly. Thank you soooooo much

Lakeisha Bridgeman: New subscriber here! You are literally a Godsend. Lately I haven’t been taking care of my hair the right way and don’t know what to do. God sent me to your channel. Thank you for sharing your hair knowledge.

Tracy Moore: I’ve used scrunches to keep the length after washing/conditioning.... it works and at the same time, my thin hair dries naturally without any heat.

jiraiya sensei: I CRIED !!! Finally someone who understands. My hair has been an issue my whole life. when I was in high school. I would hide it in any weave I could find because i couldn't bare anyone seeing my real hair it was only three years ago that I had the courage to finally go natural did the big chop and all because of my big brother and my boyfriend's love and support even other black women would tell me to keep wearing the weaves. It was really hard to accept that my hair is thinner harder to take care of ,and shrinks it's discouraging. You forever have a follower ❤❤❤ I could barely sit through other natural hair tutorials because it would be the same thing that you said like oh love your hair girl ,love your hair. Mean while they would have the thickest curliest ,put a drop of water in it and it'll curls to the Gods hair. Thank you just thank you so much for this channel making your videos I've watched half of them in one day just thank you

Mhy Natural Misfit: Lawd! That last 2 min rant she did was straight FACTS! Its definitely difficult, but a little faith can go a long ways. Thanks for this vid love, very informative!

Jasmini S.: You are hilarious!! Lol!! I'm relieved to find someone else with thin, fine natural hair. The struggle has been real!! I appreciate the helpful tips!

Matanah S: Girl you are awesome, and hilarious! So glad I found your channel!

BLa: You really got to me when you said love your hair. I have 3c thin fine hair, and I am most definitely someone who has struggled with loving my hair. Because its so thin and fine! So I definitely relate to seeing those girls on youtube with pretty, full, 3c hair talking about how much they love their hair. And I'm obviously sitting here thinking, "Fuck you!" haha, "Why can't my hair look like that?". It was definitely frustrating. Also, its nearly impossible to find people on youtube who talk about curly hair who have my hair type. Curly, thin, fine hair. I recently chopped my armpit length hair and went with a curly bob. First time I've even chopped my hair. I felt like I was just trying to hold onto length, but it was so thin at the ends and i just didn't like how it looked down anymore. I felt like I needed to start fresh and try something new. I figured my hair is super thin and fine, so short hair could really work for me. Anyway, I'm glad I did because I absolutely love it. Sometimes you have to just let go and do whats best for your hair type. Realize yeah, your hair doesn't look like theirs, but you're not them! Do what works for YOU and YOUR hair type. Just learn to love and work with what you have instead of trying to compare yourself and have hair like other women. Anyway, thank you for posting this video! Not many thin/fine curly hair girls like us posting on youtube! You're one of the few I can relate to! Much love.

Aaronique Taylor: I'm a man with the same hair and I swear I agree with this gorgeous sister 100%.... I'm 2 and hair really thin I'm at 8 inches all around and guess what before I knew these techniques my hair would be sooooo hard and dry and tangled and be falling out but man when I start to hyrdrate it 3 times a week and braid it alot it looks amazingggg

Torrena Flowers: @ Jumoke....Thank You for this UPLIFTING, inspiring, motivational and so funny video. I love every method and the last two....to pray and love my hair.....thanks sis❤

Rukudzo Kim Madyara: Oh my word! Most hair tutorial videos give such cliché or "unrealistic" in some ways tips But this actually really helped. Like this whole video was really helpful. This is the first time I ever comment on a hair tutorial video so just know you really helped me. I'm gonna go do this stuffThank youuu

Renee Johnson: My hair is thin and fine as well and I have done the EXACT same thing you have done (except the max hydration) and my hair is now bra strap length. I am thinking about the maximum hydration because my roots are FOREVER dry no matter what I do. It's all good and moisturized the day of washing and styling and the next day. However, the following day...desert...I also go to the gym 5days a week and sweat a lot so I think the maximum hydration will be so effective.

Nkiru Ugonabo: I've almost given up on my hair. 4 years of transitioning and the hair just refused to grow or rather I just don't retain the length. Whenever I wash, I loose a lot of hair cos I detangle at every step. And mehn, it hurts when you see that pool of hair you've lost just from detangling. I have a cupboard full of different products which I end up not using because they just don't work for me. Thanks to your video, I'm just gonna stop trying to turn my hair into something it's not and just keep it simple. Keep it hydrated and keep the detangling at a minimum.

Ruth Franklin: I love your personality great tips

Maureen Ngoma: Pray and love your hair! Best advices ever given. Love you fine sister xoxo

Amy Dee: Perfect tips. Thank you. Especially love #12 :)

honey: Sooooo relatable, especially since i have type 4, thin, naturally lighter natural hair too!!
