Hi everyone, so in today's video I'm gon na be talking about five things you need to know after you've had your hair colored, so you spent some pretty good money on getting your hair to the color of your dreams and now what so the first one is. Do not wash your hair for about 48 hours after you've had your hair colored. You really need to give the hair that time to really take in that color, especially if you've gotten your hair lightened whether it was a toner or a color. You need to give the hair that time to rest. If you go home and wash your hair within hours of getting your color done most likely, your color is going to fade really quickly. The next one is use a color shampoo, appropriate for the color you've gotten. This is more applicable, for, if someone say, is going really blonde or has just added some lightness to their hair, definitely use a purple shampoo to keep those blonde pieces. Nice and bright, say if you have gone for a more red, warm, really rich tone. There are red shampoos for that as well to keep that vibrancy alive and even for rich dark brunette. There are options for brunettes as well for Brown enhancing shampoos. It'S gon na make your hair look extremely rich and keep it from going dull. So the next tip is to use cold water or as cold as possible, but every time you use really hot water on your hair, it ends up opening the hair and making it more vulnerable for that color to seep out the next one is caution with heat Tools now we all know that heat tools used improperly or used too much can definitely dry up your hair, but not only that it can also strip the color in your hair if you are using too high of a heat on your hair. So it's not to say that you can't use Hot Tools just be a little bit more careful in order to preserve that color that you've paid money for - and the next tip is to book your next color service within the time that it is appropriate to do So so say you have gray roots and you know you need to come in every three weeks book before you leave just to make sure that you have that appointment, ready for you and you're not going to go an extra week with gray roots that you don't Want so my best advice is really to be on a schedule or a regimen with your color, and if price is a factor for you talk to your hairdresser, I think often times clients will just kind of make these decisions on their own they're like well. I can't afford it so I'll just come every four months and if it's something that you can't afford, try and talk to your hairdresser most likely she can have an idea of saying. Maybe we skip your highlight every other time and we just do a color, but just so that you're not walking around with roots. I think it's a huge compliment to us as hairdressers for our clients to also really value what their hair looks like, and I promise you that we want your hair to look good, always not just the day after you walk out of our salon. We want your hair to look amazing, four, six or eight weeks or whatever. We intend that appointment to last alright guys, so that is it for my five tips for post color service treatments and I hope that these were helpful and happy coloring, and I will see you guys in the next one. I'M back.

Laura S: 1. Don’t wash same day 2. Color shampoo 3. Cold water 4. Caution using too high heat tools 5. Book appt for next color appt Overall be on a regiment or schedule....

boredqwyn: The amount of sadness I felt after u said "do not wash your hair after 48 hrs" ... I watched this after i washed my hair

ArtLuver: Love your videos, Sylvia I take any and all tips seriously if spoken by my hairdresser. She does give me tips and performs magic on my hair always!! Tremendous respect to all hairstylists out there...it's a really tough job.

Joan Gentile: She's right with her advice. Rinsing your hair with cold water really makes the hair shiny. Waiting two days to shampoo your hair after you color is the best advice to keep the color vibrant. Use a color treated shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. Don't go swimming for a few days after you color, or else you will have green hair, especially, on blonde hair.

Fluffkin: My hair is dark blue so it looks black when it’s wet. Freaks me out every time because I think that I lost the color .

Danikah Smith: I love how honest and informative you are. Makes for a good hairdresser.

Nicole: I loved seeing these tips! they are all that I actually already did (told by my hairdresser). If would really be fun to see your reactions to some bad hair videos. I've seen some other YouTubers doing this video and I always wonder what your reaction would be because I trust your opinion the most.

Claire Sorrells: Let’s just take a minute and appreciate how aesthetic her room looks!

Loura Cruz: hey sylvia! I have a question - when dying or bleaching hair at home I've noticed that a lot of people tend to use coconut oil under the bleach when processing - I've used jamaican black castor oil under my copper hair dye when dying at home but will it be safe to use with bleach or will I just be able to use coconut oil? Also will it affect the colour? x

polarsingular: Thanks for a great video . I think many women (me included) would love to see a video on different ways to deal with graying hair. I'm sure you have had many clients deal with it in different ways. I for one would appreciate some ideas ‍

Vedrana Pejić: * done my hair red yesterday * " DO NOT WASH IT FOR AT LEAST 48 HOURS" Me: goes to the pool 24 hours later, comes back home and washes the hair, turns out slightly different shade of reddish colour. RIP my money

Christopher Pape: Perfect timing! I'm getting my hair colored next week! Thank you!

Meghan T: QUESTION! How long should I wait to dye my hair again? I died it lighter again (i’ve been a dirty blonde for over a year now), but now i want to go back to a darker color. My hairs really damaged and falling out how long should i wait

Kimberly Tucker Moss: Thank you so much for the info!! Love your professionalism! And I absolutely love your hair

JAYE R: I luv your vids, Silvia.! What about the water temp when washing out the dye from your hair? Many often use hot, some cold. Also, some stylists have told me not to use colored shampoos and conditioners as it will mess with your intended base color when it comes to recoloring. your thoughts? Do clarifying or chelating shampoos strip color (too much)? Or is it just me and my hard-to-cover gray? Should we use them at all with colored hair?

With Love From Jenn: I would love for you to do a video on which tools are the least damaging for your hair! You did a video on T3 hot rollers and it sounded like there wasn’t much damage from those!

Sheila Lillpopp: My hairdresser always keeps price in mind for me...I have gray and get a single process blonde every month and highlights 2-3 times a year. Lover her for recommending this. I had gone years getting color and highlight every time.

Lynn Rose: Hi Sylvia, There are some things that I have been doing and some things that I learned. I have blonde hair. You always give good information.

foranimalwelfare: I wish I saw this video a year ago before I bleached my hair. Ended up cutting 12 inches off a year later. I was a newbie and my stylist did not educate me on aftercare.

Southern Pixel: Can I scrub my hair thoroughly like i usually do or should I be fairly gentle with it when washing it? I love my hair color and I want to take as good care of it as I possibly can (Long hair w/ Black & Red Ombre <3 )

Linn Palm: I’ve seen this several times and I went back now due to my appointment next week. Great tips!

Alexis Rodriguez: I love your videos tips! Please make a video on how to maintain healthy blonde hair (how to prevent the straw-like blonde hair)

Casey Cissna: Does colored shampoo strip toner from your hair? I was told to wait at least 2-3 weeks before starting my blue shampoo for my icy blonde, because it can mess with my toner. Thoughts?

TylerDhoore: I love this, you’re so to the point and don’t faff like most youtubers

gigi kean: Such good info. I wonder if you recommend using a hair masque a week or so after you color? Or does that also strip the color?

erina chi: Hey guys! I just wanna ask if is it okay that i apply hair spray even when your hair is colored? Or will it cause damage? Cuz i really like curling my hair (not with the use of high heat but just the natural curlers) and i thought i could use some hair spray to make the curl last longer. Looking forward to anyones answer PLSSS. ❤️❤️

Jeanette H.: These were very helpful tips--thank you!

Taylor Pasha: How long should I wait until I use purple shampoo? I just got my hair colored 48 hrs ago I got a lightened baylage, I am going in the direction of your hair color! It's not quite there yet, I have the theorie purple shampoo and conditioner that I am going to use. Should i wait a week or so before I use it? And how many times should i use it lol i am very new to this

That Greek Boi: i went from dark brown thick curly hair to a silverish grey and the dye made my hair completely straight and i asked my hairdresser if wetting my hair and putting in leave in curl conditioner to get my curls back was a good idea and she said i can do it. now my curls are back literally just hours after dying is that bad for my hair ? i just wanted a second opinion.

emily madison: so i just recently dyed my hair dark green(splat). normally when i dye my hair it bleeds when wet but i’ve noticed that now it bleeds when dry also. anyone know how to prevent this because it’s a big issue!?

Bella Allen: How likely are highlights to strip from the hair if washed the same day? I had to because a friend’s little sister thought it would be a great idea to splash my hair with chlorine water the day of‍♀️

Estefania🤍: Love thanks for the tips! It was my first time getting highlights in my front area of the hair only like partial and using Joico blue shampoo. Is that okay? and can I use it and then use my regular hair shampoo rite after my first wash with the Joico?

Joan Gentile: I also take Biotin, 1000 mcg. once a day. It's good for your hair, skin and nails. I have been taking it for five years now. I have seen a difference in my hair and my nails.

Σια Λ.: My problem I spend a lot on my hair money that is because I do roots highlights and I buy color protection shampoo and conditioner but every appointment I’m introduced a new product. It gets confusing. The only tip I don’t do is the cold water. I wish I could color my own hair but I can’t . Great tips though! Thank you

Suhani Sharma: Helpful video. I love your videos. I am going to color my hair too.

Camila: i got highlights and it’s been a day can’t wait to see how it looks wet

madam steal yo bitch: Dont wash ur hair with cold water it should be luke warm to actually get it to the cuticles and clean ur hair! luke warm wont let it run too much too

: Great info!!!!! Love your hair in this video!!

Nicole Rademan: This was so helpful!

Fby: Excelentes consejos, gracias.

tanisha punks2alve: Make a video about drugstore shampoos for different colored hair

Molly Navarro: I’m confused. When I color my hair and after processing I rinse out the color in the shower and then use pureology shampoo and conditioner. Then i wait like 4 days before I wash it again. So am I supposed to not shampoo it right after the color is done processing?

Mahasweta Chakraborti: So what am I supposed to do? Just keep all the cream in for 48 hours or can I just wash my hair with water?

Sabrina Stovall: Love love love this info ❤️❤️

syazwan wan: can you use hair tonic after dyeing your hair ?

Lorac Caro: Hi I just colored/lightened my hair. And I need some help navigating how that affects my makeup routine. Have you made a video or know of a video that can help? I have olive skin tone. You can see my before and after on @mariagarciacolor IG page, thanks

roni: thank u for this! im 13 rn and i just got blonde-ish kinda brown highlights and my hair is black. i rlly needed this since it's ny first time i did this to my hair. thank u sm <333

cutici: Hi Is it ok to use Demi developer w/ a permanent formula tube of color?

Rachel_roossey_: What heat should I use on my straighteners the lowest is 1 and the highest is 2

Tracey Lynn: Love that nail color!! Have a great week

Maria Durneva: What’s the difference between Redken High Lift Ash Pearl and Pearl Ash color ?

S. M.: Hi Sylvia, would you please be able to speak to what color shampoo to use for color treated hair that is 2-toned (like highlights, bayalage, etc)? Specifically brunette (wanting to stay in the neutral to ash family, and not red/brassy/warm) to blond highlights/ends? Thanks!

Hope Wacka: Which shampoos you recommend for brunettes?

Lmo Lol: Hi Elle ! Is there a toner that cover grey ??

marikie marie: So pretty, as usual!!

lanteaddicted: I wait at least 5 days after getting my hair color before I wash it.

Ashley Hale: I am about to have my hair dyed back brunette (it’s a dark long root balayage to a yellowy blonde) and don’t want a flat brunette? I want it to look demential . What should I ask for? How can I keep my dark hair from looking flat? *i recently graduated and am low on funds so any cheap options to keep it looking great?

Ryanfalconnd: Can u put permanent straightener on your hair after u dye it

munki: is OGX a good shampoo to use after bleaching treatment?

Joan Gentile: I have a great hair colorist. It helps a lot!!

Grebl1: Thanks for your advice.I enjoy watching your videos.Greetings

시드니얏: Does this mean I cannot really go outside for 72 hours? Unless i put a hat on? The hair products suggest we wait 30 monutes then wash. Does this mean they are trying to show the minimum waiting time or are they trying to rip us off so to have more sales regularly?

Rosalia: I have brown hair and im dying it copper brown in two days. What shampoo should I use for that color?

Minirara: I just color my hair for the first time, and i have a question. I think I did not use full hair dye on the box, it gets some left, should I re use again?

Ur Mum: I'm going for a pastel purple so I'm lucky I get to use warm water

Alexia Luna: Do you need to use color shampoo if it is just bleach? I have dark brown hair and it’s a medium brown bleached at the ends. I already use a sulfate free shampoo, is that fine?

moonwitch: I have a question and I can’t find the answer anywhere! My natural hair color is dark brown and my eyebrows are black. This looks really weird. I really like to dye my hair to a lighter brown but every time when I do that my eyebrows look extra harsh because they are darker. Most people that I know have dark brown eyebrows and that ideal to match any hair color but black it’s so hard. What can I do? Dye my eyebrows? I’m also scared that it will damage my eyebrows.
