Hello, my name is Mike Cantlay and I'm chairman of Scottish Natural Heritage. Snh is all about connecting people and nature and indeed'Connecting People and Nature' is the very title of our new corporate plan, and it applies to every bit of our work right across the organisation. It is indeed the shared mission for all of us, working together for a common purpose.. We believe that this purpose matters not just for its own sake, but because connecting people and nature is central to Scotland's prosperity and well-being. SNH's work. Our research and monitoring advice, promotion, grant aid and regulation all contribute to this.. The period of this corporate plan straddles the exit of the UK from the EU and indeed other factors, most obviously, climate change, which mean that we operate in constantly changing times. We need to tackle climate change and nature together, and sometimes that will mean accepting change in some cherished cherished parts of nature., Where there are challenges there are always opportunities for people for nature and indeed for Scotland.. We recognise that we need to continually improve what we do and the way we work. For example, we need stronger and more targeted communication on the benefits of nature and its relevance to people to collaborate in an earlier and more positive and productive way with our partners.
