Hey gems and welcome back to my channel sugar Alexis, so this video is very, very highly requested. I'Ve been getting so many DMS. I'Ve been getting so many comments on Instagram about how I get free hair as a small youtuber. So this is just to encourage you because, honestly, if I can get hair, I know you guys can too because I'm a nobody like, I said, and I'm not a celebrity, I'm not famous. So it's just all about how you portray yourself, how you put your content out there and you know it's what the vendors want. So I will try to give you guys the best advice that I can. Okay, stay tuned, so to start off I actually may be looking down at my notebook because I did take some notes, so you may see me doing that here and there in this video. I just want to tell you guys that you have to be okay with being turned down, like that's one of the big things that you're going to have to have some tough skin on. Not everybody is going to want to reach out to you and not. Everybody is going to want you like you, it just all depends on you, so you just have to really have tough skin, but please don't let this discourage you and do not get upset. If you get turned down it's all about growing, because when you're you know, when you make it, those companies are gon na. Be wishing that you know they had sent you that hair. So I'm going to just start off by saying I started my youtube channel around August 14th of 2017. So just a little bit about a year ago, I first recorded, like my first hair tutorial yeah like back, then you guys can even see in my video. It'S like the second video I think I recorded it was a joke uh. It was just a joke. Okay, so for the second hair tutorial that I posted, I had a little under thousands, no a little under 100 subscribers. Sorry about that and the video was like 18 minutes long. I barely edited out anything. It was just. I had like a tacky background. Y'All can see this video, so I can laugh at me, but I'm only you know trying to get better with my videos. I'M only trying to improve and I'm still learning things - I'm still learning how to work a camera. I'M just trying to get everything down pack. So don't laugh at me all. I was that small of a youtuber I had under 100 subscribers. I tried to reach out to hair companies and, of course they tear my ass down like I, my video was a mess and I had a little under a hundred subscribers, so I was like okay, my feelings is hurt, but it's okay. You know it's kind of expected because I had a little under a hundred subscribers and you know my video was a mess. My content was terrible. The background was terrible. So, like I'm going to tell you guys some advice once again of how to get some free hair and just know what works for me or what works for somebody else may not work for you, but again do not let that discourage you like um, what's meant To be will be okay and that's all I got to say so I will give you guys the best advice that I can all right. So, first off, if you want some free hair, my first advice to you guys would be to email, whoever you want. Some hair from email them, but here's the thing um you got to think about your channel. You got to say to yourself like is my channel there, yet you know like. Is it there yet to be emailing people or think about the hair? Vendor? Is the hair pet vendor like popular on Instagram or are they like a small you know? Are they something small that only has like two thousand? You don't want to email a vendor, that's that has like a lot of followers, because what are you going to do? You know what I mean if you're not getting any views and it's the hard truth you're not getting any views or you don't have that many subscribers. What makes you think that they are gon na want you, so I rather email hair benders with a little bit of followers that has a small following I mean you can try to reach out to vendors with a higher following. You know it is always it doesn't hurt to try, but I'm just telling you guys the harsh truth of it. Like you know, what really can you offer them and when you email vendors guys you want to be very respectful polite I mean that's, not obvious. You want to say hi, you want to say your name. You want to be very respectable and say that you're, a hair reviewer and you review hair, but do not lie. Don'T say, oh, like I do all these videos on hair. If you really don't, you know what I mean because their hair they're going to look at your channel they're gon na ask for your channel, and these are actually company they're. Not just gon na. Send you anything and then look at you know they're gon na look before they send so make sure that your content is there before you ill email like don't get to height to email them like I did. I only uploaded one video and like like come on. You really think they're gon na send me some hair, so they didn't but yeah. Just basically when you email them include what you do include. Your channel include the link of your channel just so like. Even if they didn't are you, they still have your channel link. You know what I mean: they got your channel link, so it's like whatever they're gon na know me anyway, one day, okay, guys so another thing they look to see. If you have that's the first thing they check they look at your subscribers. If you do have like a thousand subscribers or less, you want to make sure that you turn your subscriber button off. Okay, so turn your subscribers button off. So they cannot tell I'm a subscribers that you have and how you're gon na do that is you're gon na go to Safari. You can also do this on a computer, but when you're on so far you have to use the desktop version. Click on the top right, okay and then you know, click on creator studio, go to the left and then hit channel advance and go all the way down to the subscriber count' and select do not display the number people subscribe to my channel and then you know Say so you can hit that option of saying I don't want to show my subscriber count' because, honestly, if you have a small following, but if like one of your videos, went viral and has like 35k four thousand views or whatever the number is that's you know, That'S good! That'S really good! If your videos are getting the views, but you don't have the subscribers turn that subscriber thing off so they won't know you know they can't tell I mean I'm not gon na lie. Some hair vendors do require you to tell them how many people, or how many subscribers you have so you know you're probably gon na, have to be honest, but honestly, if they see how many views you're getting that's all they care. So the next thing that you guys are gon na want to do is upload a lot of hair reviews like even if it's like, hair that nobody knows like upload. This is how it starts like that young hair, when I first started doing hair reviews, it was young hair, that's hair that I actually brought out of pocket like, and I was just doing, video after video after video on Young's hair, because first of all is showing That you care about the hair, it's showing that you want your fanbase to know how the hair is holding up you're, showing how you care for it and everything. So if you keep doing videos on hair, how you maintain it updates like that's what they also look for, because it's showing that you care you can even buy like. If you can't afford bundles, you can even buy like synthetic wigs. You can start off by reviewing synthetic wigs from the beauty supply that are like $ 20. You can make stuff cute, you know so, but my suggestion for you guys is like, and even if you have like old hair that you still have, but it's not fresh or no. You can still use that and just keep doing videos cuz, that's what they want. They want a channel based on hair. You know, that's if your channel looks like it's about hair, that's they're, gon na be interested in again. Next thing that I have on here is upload tutorials, how you start your hair, how you care for it constant updates - and this shows, like I said you care about their hair. So once again, if you don't have enough money to keep buying bundles use old hair that you already have talked about arm hair that you purchased or you can even insert a video or like, if you have like an old video of you wearing the hair, you Can also explain it and if you have pictures of the bundles on the site, you can explain it like it's possible, so just do the best that you can guys. The next thing that I want to discuss is make sure your videos are high-quality. Make sure you are appealing to them, you have to appeal to these companies, like you can't upload a video, that's fun, I'm not even being shady but like a webcam from like an old-ass laptop or like an iPhone 5 like I'm, not gon na want to see, Like a blurry, your video, you know and I'm not saying that my videos are perfect, but you want to like you see on my background, is you want to show them quality that you have quality and if I were you, I would purchase a camera and if You can't afford a camera. You can also record on your phone. I would recommend an 8 plus or up if you want some really good quality YouTube videos, because I tried recording on my iPhone 7 and it was blurry. So if you want some good quality videos, I would recommend an 8 plus and up - and I again I know this is pricey, but you know this is a part of YouTube. You want quality out there. You don't want garbage, because you can have all these videos, but if your videos are blurry and nobody can see it no, but you have a junky background of your room like it's kind of like I don't even want to click on a video like that. I, like click on it, I'm like up and I get right out of it. You know I want to see quality. So that's exactly what they're looking for and also try buying like light equipment. I know there's some like a ring light. For instance, you can buy some studio lights or whatever. I will leave some lengths to give you some inspiration. I don't even have studio lights yet, but you guys can buy that because I know it can help your videos. I just have a ring light as of right now, and I think I got it from eBay. Another thing guys. So, when you're taking pictures in the hair that you buy the same thing, you want quality, high quality pictures on your Instagram. Okay, you don't want it garbage like blurry pictures, you want, you want to start being professional, especially if you want to be on YouTube. You got to start being professionally to your videos. That'S why I would really recommend a camera, but I know not. Everybody has the funds for a camera, so I I can understand, you know I understand, and it's not cheap, but truly and honestly you got ta. Your pictures even have to be a 1 because they're gon na repost your pictures on their page. You know if they do send you here, so you want quality and also on your Instagram. You want to use hashtag galore like go hashtag crazy. You want to use Aliexpress hair black, but black youtuber, bundles black bundles hair review, like be extra with your tags. Use tags that you know people are clicking on like say, for instance, if I brought a deep wave from Young's hair, I'm gon na say: hashtag young hair, Young Aliexpress, hair, I'm gon na, say deep, wave, bundles, cheap, deep, wave, bundles I'll, say the inches of the Hair, you know, like I'll, say: youtubers suffer sub all that stuff go hashtag, crazy, okay, cuz, that's another! I honestly feel like that's another way that they can find you so on your YouTube. You want to have a cute thumbnail again quality cute done now. That brings people to click on your video, like you want to have a video thumbnail on your hair, video that makes people wonder like what is she talking about? What all right, you know what I mean or like a cute bit, even if it's nothing bad about the here like at least a cute picture, you know we'll bring people like oh she's cute. Let me click on that. I like that hair and you want the hair to look presentable. You don't want it to be trash and your thumbnail, okay and I'm even still trying to learn some of these tips. So I'm gon na take my own tips and another thing guys. When you want people to reach out to you, you have to create a business email and you have to put your business email in your description box and every single video that you post so you're, going to want to put your email in your description box. Because you honestly, people can have the content, people can have exactly what hair vendors are. Looking for and then they're over here. Looking at your description box, looking for an email and what happens if you don't have one then they're just like okay, I can't reach out to her. Like you know what I mean so I mean they could reach out. So you want into the ground, but like some of them likes an email so make sure, and if you don't have an email make sure you create one okay next thing guys when a hair company reaches out to you, you want to mention that in your review, Video you want to say that this hair company sent me you want to make it. You know they sent you the hair for free and they did when other hair vendors look at your video they're gon na be in competition like oh. I want her to review. My hair, now you know that's how you keep bringing them, because if they see that you're reviewing another they're they're all in competition with each other, you know they're trying to get everybody to buy their hair. So if you mentioned oh, they sent me their hair. All they wanted they collab with me. You know: that's gon na make other hair vendors say: okay, okay, I want her now I want her now like again they're in competition with each other, so they're gon na want you to review their stuff too. Okay, guys. So the last thing that I have is obviously to just be yourself in these videos. Even if a hair but vender send you some hair, like you want to be honest, like don't be scared because they sent you free hair, because I rather be honest about hair than getting pre hair. Because then, you know if you do blow up and you're fans, you know by that hair that you're promoting and it's bad hair they're going to come, produces not that they're coming for you so be honest and just have fun in your videos like show your personality In your videos, you know you have to have some professionalism, you know you know, but you can also be yourself just be yourself. That'S it don't copy off anybody else, because it shows in your videos when you're trying to be somebody else like who cares. If other people doesn't like how you talk or how you act like that's, that's you! That'S literally you they're gon na be people. That'S attracted to that you know so. Don'T worry about the other. Half that doesn't cuz they're, just gon na be the other half that does love you and then that other half is just gon na sit. You sit there and hate you behind a screen like who cares regardless, if you say that the hair is bad and they stop sending you hair. I rather be honest. You know what I mean then just try to fake it just to get more hair cuz. I feel like people are going to listen to you, they're gon na watch your videos and they're gon na buy it so they're gon na come for you so be honest when you do have hair vendors contact you if they're asking you to like buy anything. Just do it like just buy it and then they say they'll give you your money back just do it cuz at least you're still collabing with them. You know what I mean any opportunity that you get. That can benefit you just do it. You know what I mean, even if you have to pay just, do it but be aware that there are some scammers out there. That will try to take your money, so I guess you just got ta know which hair vendors to give your money to. I just want everybody to be careful, because the first hair vendor that ever reached out to me to review their hair, they were actually scammers. I mean I'm not really mad because as soon as I got scammed or whatever you want to call it more hair vendors reached out to me, so I just felt like whoever wanted me down. God had me anyway, so it's like whatever, so this is all of my tips, guys like again, I am just started. I just started being active on my channel in August, and this is already happening to me. So that's how I know that it can happen to you guys, and I know people that has their YouTube for a years probably feels a type of way like well. She just started two months ago and I had mine for three years. It doesn't matter like so the hard truth of it is, and it kind of sucks to say, but hair vendors are gon na reach out to who they want. So you have to be unique. You have to be different. You have to catch their eye, be presentable, respectful, like just know, not everybody is going to want you and that's the hard truth, but because like when, so many people ask me like well, how are you doing this? I really like. I can't say what I'm you know, I don't know like they're just reaching out to me. You have to appeal to them. Okay, and there was, I think, one of them not beauty. I actually reached out to them and they let me review their hair. So, thank God for that. I think my channel saved me um some of them. You will have luck with reaching out to them. Don'T expect them to reach out to you, because it's not gon na work like that. Sometimes you do have to reach out to them and you're, not begging or being like. No, this is what you want to do. This is this is honestly, I feel like this is a job like you want to sell yourself in a way you want that hair. You want a review, is so promote yourself, you know, but this is all I can say, because this is all the experience that I have with being a small youtuber and getting free hair. This is it so I hope you guys really like this video. I hope this helps some of you out. Just always remember to be humble, do not get discouraged and if you, if they tell you like you, know, no, I'm not gon na. Send you free hair, just know that when you blow up they're going to be writing your email? Okay, so just think about that - and there are gon na be other here who do want you, so don't worry about it. Okay, there's a lot of people that get denied um. I think I'm gon na do another video basically of me, describing how to start your YouTube channel cuz. I also got a video or not a video. I also got comments asking about how I got so many subscribers, so I will get into that in another video, so this was just basically how to get free hair and how to collab with hair companies. So I hope my advice and tips helped you guys, because this is what I could give you from my experience so far. Okay, so literally that's how I get hair. I just sorry, I hear a stinkbug. I do not like bugs literally that's it guys. You just have to appeal to them. You have to show them something different. Bring something to the table, bring something that nobody else has. You know be yourself, they will come. Ok, if you just are yourself, and if you listen to these tips, they will help you and even if you don't have a lot of subscribers and you get denied just work on your subscriber base and don't be so quick to reach out to companies like make Sure that you build your subscriber base up. Okay, so, like that's, that's gon na motivate! You that's gon na push you to want to build your subscriber base up, so I will tell you guys how to get subscribers in another video cuz. I feel like this is already long. I hope you guys really enjoyed this. I hope I hope to any you guys out if you guys still have questions please comment below and I will try to get back to you guys. I do answer comments, so if you really do have a serious comment, comment below, I love you guys so much, and I really thank you for watching this video and I really pray that you Jem's get some hair, because I know how bad I wanted it a Year ago - and I know that feeling of being denied and like why you know being impatient, but they will come okay, especially if you are dedicated - and you are true to this - it will come make sure you hit that Bell, so you can always be notified. I love you guys so much and thank you for watching.
