Hello, you guys i am coming at you looking like. I have a mullet. This video is so highly requested and i'm finally doing it a lot of people ask me to do a video on how i get my own extensions done, because i've been very open that i wear a lot of hair. My hair is short, as you can see, and my extensions are usually pretty long, so i wanted to take you guys through the whole process of removing my extensions, how i take care of my hair in between putting them back in i've, definitely done videos of getting My hair done, but it's usually focused on color, but i'm now going to be giving you guys the specifics of how much hair i use what i use, how i get it done and the whole process. I am currently in the middle of removing my extensions. I just took out all my tape - ins they're right here. I just took those out with remover, so i didn't really film that, because it's pretty basic and now all i have left in is one left, so i just have one row of wefts in looking great. So i'm going to show you guys how i remove those. I typically end up removing my own extensions just because life gets so busy and i usually get my hair done just like in between other things. Most hairdressers probably understand that. So i am removing my own hair tonight and then i'm going to go home and wash my hair do a treatment on it. I'Ll. Take you guys through that and then i'm going to put it back in tomorrow, i'm going to show you guys the whole process and you get to see exactly how i get my extensions done, what i use and so on and so forth. So, to start this video off definitely don't recommend taking your own extensions out at home. If you're a client only licensed hairdresser should do that to themselves and i'm sure we all do so. Like i said, i took the tapens out using the takedown, which is our tape and remover. Now i'm going to use this little guy, it's the removal, plier that comes in our extension kits and i'm going to remove my weft. So i have a cozy weft in right now, so this is my cozy and i've had these extensions in almost eight weeks. So i am ready, it's actually growing out pretty nicely, but all my tapes were so loose. My weft is coming loose, so it's time so basically, i'm just going to take this removal tool and you put the top and the bottom into a bead and then it clamps the bead open and releases it. And then i can start removing the weft as a whole, so i am just feeling for each bead inserting the tool loosening the bead and then i'm just kind of removing. As i go so you can see that that bead was loosened and now i'm just starting to kind of take the hair out and it's slowly coming out and i'm so sad you guys, because i was in dire need of a move up. Like i said, it's been eight weeks and we have a utah class coming up this weekend and we're having it filmed. I have a shadower on friday. I am training someone on saturday, so we've got a big weekend and i knew i needed my hair moved up before all of that, because we're also getting the class filmed and we're taking like head shots and stuff. So i need my hair to look good and i'm so sad because the stew and the alexa are two newest shades. Coming we're supposed to come in this week and i think now they're coming in next week, and so i was kind of like holding out on getting a move up, because i wanted to wear both of our new colors um to help promote them. And so i was just like okay i'll just wait to get a move up until they come in, but now it sounds like they're going to come in after the class, and so i'm like dang it. So i'm actually just going to do a move up now, because i desperately need it and then i'll put those new colors in next time. I get my hair done that side's loosened i'm now gon na, go through on this side and do it and if you're a client at home, watching this um removing your own tape. Ins, like i said, i always recommend, being a licensed hairdresser or letting your hair stylist, do it, but tape ins are a little easier to remove if you have the proper things to remove them, but taking out your ox is a whole different story during covid i Did do a video on my instagram on like how to remove your own extensions at home, obviously because salons were closed so obviously not or they did it available and they couldn't see what they were doing and they damaged their hair. So i would just always recommend having someone else. Do it for you, especially a licensed professional, because part of learning extensions is learning how to properly remove them and if you haven't been trained in that you can cause damage. So i just always like to use that as a little psa, because even though i'm doing my own, it's because i know how to do it and i would hate for clients to do this thinking. It was easy and then um kind of get stuck in a bad spot and you can see even as i'm doing this like it's, not perfect, i'm getting stuck in spots and i have to be a little more gentle because obviously i can't see the back of My head, so it's even hard for me to do it so just a little warning out there to all you clients, i think all of the beads are loosened and i'm just kind of like slowly pulling my hair out of each bead individually, so that i'm not Just like ripping this left out as a whole, all right just got one bead left. My cozy weft is out. I have an entire bag of cozies on this one rose. Isn'T that crazy? So now my left and my tapes are out - and i am oh one - little tape, one spare guy and it's actually like halfway out. So i think i can actually just get it out because i had already saturated it with remover and voila okay. So now i'm officially bald and have a mullet. So you guys can see my natural hair is pretty short. I'Ve been trying to keep chemicals off of it to help it get healthier, and then i did go short a while ago and like kind of embrace. My short hair, so i actually cut my own hair a little bit because of that, so it's growing it's getting there. I still have a little bit of a shelf, but that is why i wear extensions all right guys. This is my hair. All out i got my weft and my tapes any guesses on how much hair i wear in my head before. I actually tell you guys, i'm going to purple shampoo and wash the hair that was in my head to reuse, but i feel like i might want to add one bag of like a brighter color we're kind of running low on a lot. So i might not, but i just wanted to come out to kind of see what our inventory is. Looking like. I always pull from the salon out here, because this inventory is for people who come and buy hair, whereas in the back in the warehouse that inventory is for online orders. I never pull from there just in case, but i want freddy and it looks like we're out. So i'm gon na go look in the back. Okay, we have a little more back here. We actually just reorganized the warehouse, so we have like cozy wefts. We have clip-ins teepins and then we knocked down the education wall. This used to be our education center and now it's just more storage, so we have machine wefts, hand-tied wefts. All of that it just keeps growing kaching. We have freddy back here so i may take one of these to add in because i freaking love ready and i feel like it matches my hair perfect right now. It really isn't it's so much different when you can like break it apart and see the light shining through it all right, i'm gon na do a freddy. This is what freddy looks like it's like a rooted, dimensional blonde. It'S so pretty has so much dimension in it. It'S like a soft root, love it okay! So i'm about to wash my hair at home. I am going to be using kevin murphy and i'm using the young again wash and rinse the unite blonde shampoo and then i'm going to use this saints and sinners hair mask. So i'm going to wash my hair, i'm going to tone my hair and then i'm going to give it a little bit of a treatment, and those of you that have extensions know how nice it is to wash your hair with no extensions in i'm so excited. Okay, so i'm gon na actually start prepping, my hair, i'm going to take all of the tape off of these tape ins and then i'm going to purple shampoo and tone everything and then i'll put the new tape on once they're dry. So i'm sitting on my bed and doing it while watching netflix and i feel like every hairdresser - can probably relate to this on some level. Okay, all the tapes are cleaned off thread is cut out, ready to tone. All of my hair is officially washed toned and re-taped and ready to go so i'm just gon na, let it air dry overnight, and then we will put it back in tomorrow. Okay, guys time to get this sewn in. So i'm making my assistant kaley do this. She took our training in june of last year and while i have a knot in it, so yeah she's like this is great timing. I'M just throwing her into this. I'M making her stack four cozies on one row, so the first step is sewing in my row and i have four cozies and it's a half bag of sky and a half bag of jagger. So that is one full bag on one row and the cozies like pretty flat. I'Ve done correctly, so that is totally fine to put on one row and then i'm just gon na do tapes all around it. So that is currently what we're doing is stitching in our cozy and then we're gon na. Do the tapes? Okay, you guys, you saw me getting my weft in and then i had kaylee my assistant finish the back of my head with the tapes and then last night. I just put the rest of my tapes in like the front of my hair. While we were watching a movie, so i didn't record that because i completely forgot, but it was just me putting tapes in which is pretty simple. But yes, it took me a full, basically 24 hours to like actually get my hair done and i feel like most hairdressers understand that because it's usually us like last minute getting our hair done and that's just how it goes. I am now at the salon. It'S the next day - and i am just styling my hair, so i am just curling it with the j wave. It'S our one and a fourth inch iron. I wanted to go over how much hair i have in my head. People always ask me when i get my hair done, how much hair i have in my head, because i have a lot and i always i'm like scared to talk about how much i have, because i don't want anyone to think it's normal. But i did this. Video so that you guys can actually see what i have in my hair. How much i use and finally like reveal the truth. So, basically, i have a lot of hair. It'S super dense. Anyone who highlights my hair tells me that, like it doesn't look like, i have a lot of hair, but once you get in there, it's like crazy. So i wouldn't say it's like thick texture, but it's so dense. I have a lot of it and i think stu and my mom can both agree with that yeah we fight over, who has to do it and no one wants to do my hair wants to do it and honestly, like with all the hair i have in My head, i could still fit more, but also i'm just crazy and i feel like i have to have that much. I probably don't need that much, but, like i've just been doing it for so long that it feels normal. So that's part of it and then another thing is you guys know that i'm like in the process of healing my hair, so my own hair, what i haven't bleached it in like two months. That'S a great word healing because i do have. I do have a problem with like wanting to change my hair all the time, so i go lighter and darker, and i know that that is not the best thing for my hair and i have caused my own damage. I'M well aware, but because of that, my pieces in the front are shorter, so i have to like put tape ins in the front to kind of fill those gaps in. So that's why i have so much like you guys can see. I literally have tapes like really close, because i want that look of fullness in the front. That'S why i actually have so much if my front pieces were a little longer. I wouldn't do that. I'M hoping one day i will not have to do that here. Is the real deal? This is what i have in my hair. Are you telling the truth? Yes makes you sad yeah people? This is not normal. This is not normal, so i have one cozy weft in a half of jagger, a half of sky which equals one full cozy and there are 120 grams in a full cozy weft. I have five bags of tape ins, i counted as i put them in. Sometimes it's six, sometimes it's eight. Sometimes it's more. Who knows each of those are 50 grams. So if you add up 50 times five, what does that do? Um, 250. 250. 250. good job math is not his strong point. 120 plus 250 is 370. yeah. Most of the time i have even more so i have a full bag of wefts and then five bags of tape, and so that is 370 grams of hair and to put that into perspective, for you guys, we usually tell people that they only need either one Bag of wefts and one bag of tapes, or like one and a half bags of left um or like two or three bags of tape. So i am very excessive and i am aware of it. That is actually what i have in my hair. So the placement is just like one horseshoe of the cozy wefts and then literally, there is no rhyme or reason for the tapes. I just start putting them in where i need them, where i have to fill in gaps and stuff like that. So when i'm doing tapings on a clamp, there is like an actual pattern, but with my own, it's really just like where i need them, so that is the real life truth about my hair extensions. How long? Actually, what never lie about it? I can never lie again, but i actually hate answering that question so much because i feel like then people think they need that much hair and it's just not the truth. So most people are not psycho. Like me right, you guys. I hope you enjoyed this video on my hair extension process and the truth about how much hair i wear. I know it's crazy. Let me know if you would like more videos like this in the future. I always tend to film when i get my hair done, whether it's color or extension. So if you guys like seeing that, let me know also, let me know what other types of videos or tutorials you would like to see. Thank you so much for watching you

Hoddy228: I'd be interested in a video where you just use the amount you recommend to see the difference!

Adrienne Lance: Thank you SO MUCH for this! Not a stylist, but I do my own hair coloring, extensions, etc. I’m about to dabble into the hand tied’s but my hair is short so I have been thinking that I may need a few tapes to fill in gaps. But also, I thought that’s pretty excessive and I’m sure no one does that BUT! This video made me understand that it doesn’t matter‍♀️ do what you want with YOUR hair!! Thank you for this!!

Claire McNabb: My gosh i remember over the covid lockdowns where people were removing their own wefts when they couldn't get to their hairdresser. I have taken a break for over a year from hair extensions, but hope to get the weft back in again for the spring and summer ❤❤

Sarah Stroud: I’m getting my hair done using you’re extensions Friday by someone trained! I’m so excited!

Nicki Dee: Omg this looks so familiar I used To have to go through this all the time! Thankfully my hair has grown out over 22 inches now and I don’t have to deal with extensions anymore but doing your own is soooo much work! Loved this video tho even tho I don’t wear extensions anymore I used to wear at minimum, 400 grams of hair

Anne Curione: I LOVE your thick hair!! I know this is old and you’re a brunette now but Same struggle, I have naturally dense hair and my stylist and I don’t agree on what looks right! I love her but I am definitely buying at least two more packs the next time I get my tapes moved up. We only used three this time and I’m such a perfectionist it’s driving me insane!!

X0x0: I loved this !! I love wearing 4-5 tape in bags as well! Can’t help it lol

Olivia Englund: I know you’re a long hair kind of gal but I swear you would totally rock a short blunt bob Thanks for an interesting & educational video, always watch your hair videos!

Elvia Olvera: You're so cool for showing this! I thought I was the only one that had to use so much! ❤️

Sinead F: A full thick head of hair really suits you, I just couldn't pull it off. I'm better off with the natural look with extensions. I think you're brave to be so truthful about that. Most other hairdressers never reveal the real amount of hair extensions that they wear.

Jaclyn Lonson: LOVE Bailey's combo of the Stew and the Bailey, def one of her best looks if not THE best.Just wondering what colour Koera is these days and if you've done anything new and/or filmed doing her hair lately.I live for the three of you girls' transformations

Darci Jones: I would actually have that much if I could! Your hair always looks sooo good!!! I am jealous

Sex Love Motherhood: I can relate as I also have the fine texture but a lot of it, and I’ve put 4 bags of extensions in my own hair + adding clip ins on top of it feeling like I can add a lil halo on top

Gina Maly: Your so beautiful with or without the hair ! Thanks for the honesty and education!

dreamy885: Oh my gosh, I can't imagine how heavy that would feel when you wash it and how long it would take to blow dry! I just put tape ins in and we only did about 75 grams (I have baby fine hair) and I despise washing and drying it! Lol

Amy Scott: YES GRAMS I would love to see how you place your front tapes on your next install- I’ve always been worried about placing tapes too close together and having them peak through- but yours look fantastic!

Elle: apparently, we're the same person lmao, this is literally my life as a hairstylist i somehow manage to put in my own extensions and it takes me about 2 days or so to finish my hair because then I have a hairstylist fix what i can't see haha

MGT Hair Design: So glad to finally have this video! And I’ve been wondering why 160 grams doesn’t seem full enough on my clients

Alley Vanetten: I would LOVE a video on how you style your own hair with extensions. I feel like mine never look good when I curl them

Brooke Burkhart: It’s better to know the true bc if anyone is like me, we choose to use your extensions bc of how they look on you and others around you. And to get that look we have to know how it’s achievable. Thank you!

My_rahh V.: I mean Jessi you are a hairstylist , the norm or basic is not allowed. Why not be extra and fabulous

elleellelle: I've worn extensions for years and I've always worn either 380- 480g lol it's looks more real that way and helps blends them small bits haha

Aaren Leigh: It looks beautiful ! Thank you for the videos

Claudia Harris: it looks like a natural amount of hair so that is all that matters. i have crazy full and thick hair, so yours is similar to mine with extensions… totally fine!

clipinqueen: Awww...I'm kind of disappointed that we didn't see you putting in the front tapes! I was hoping to see just how you place them. Oh well....maybe next time. Your hair looks great and appreciate the honesty about how much hair you wear. Thank you.

Amber Costello: I totally understand this! I’m a hairdresser and I have thick but short natural hair, and when I ware extensions it’s either 2 full sets of clip ins or 7 bags of tapes

Ashleysamantha: I only wear 100-120grams and it's a struggle to wash it let alone how long extensions take to blow dry, I can't imagine that much!! But your hair always looks perfect!

Darian Harrison: Love this!!! And your products you extensions are my favourite I am Canadian and it’s so worth the duty and exchange rate, also the tape is the best I have ever used

Lex F: I use 500 grams myself! My hair is super thick and i definitely got used to wearing a lot. Any less and i don’t look “myself”. No one needs that much but i personally like it. I’ve had extensions since the 6th grade and i’m used to it. When i do tapes i need so many. It’s typically 500 grams either way. I always do two packs of thick extensions in 26’. And i grab around 10 packs of tape ins and have two left usually.

Ronette Tailele: Thx for your honesty. Really enjoyed this vid!

Charlie Elizabeth McKenna: I guessed 360grams!!! I used to have 350 to 400grams of weft when I was younger. My hair is super super thick, now my hair is super healthy I can't have extentions as my hair is toooo thick xxx

K PB: can you do a straightening tutorial with extensions? like how they dry naturally and how they look straight?

Mojo Niro: Love love your hair. Thanks for sharing

Bela Walton: My dear Jessi, From the bottom of my heart I will tell you I followed you for the last maybe 4 years?.... You have outdone expectations and I am happy for you. Having said that I really need to tell you also that you are looking less and less like that girl so gorgeous and young looking naturally. Please , pleaseeeeee stop putting fillers on your face and lips. You started to look like many actresses out there than do not stop and will not look natural anymore. You are so beautiful natural and no need for all these changes. Believe me you are so pretty and you are now covering that. Nothing wrong with better teeth and eyelashes but your face is beautiful natural. I urge you to think it through. I say this and hope you do not take it as an attack. It isn't. Sorry in advance if I offend you. It is not my intention. Again you are beautiful and these fillers start to hide your natural beauty.

beth knierim: Any ideas on how to get the salon guest flow better after pandemic shut down last year? Love your videos, thank you!

Lpg 8: Wow that is insane the amount of hair you have on your scalp. I'm sorry, but I just don't think that that can possibly be healthy for your scalp. The sheer weight of all of these extensions on your own hair has to cause stress and breakage no matter how it's applied. That being said, I think you look much better with the short hair than with all those extensions.

Madelaine Bellini: I’d love to wear extensions but every time I do they show through my hair:(

ehhqee: You look flawless!!

Mariana H.: Oh my goodness!! Still so beautiful and love the hair!!!

S. C.: Always enjoy watching you. Will you be holding classes at your salon again once Covid is past?

Kailey Stubblefield ◡̈: SO GLAD this is finally up

Quynci Wisdom: When we met at a hair show in Vegas I was wearing 300 grams for the same reasons

Momster: I’m a licensed stylist but I’ve been at stay at home for 4 years. My hair is very similar to yours I have a shelf in the front from where I damaged it from over bleaching. :/ where is your salon and are you accepting new clients?! I need hair like yours!

Nicquoel Nicholson: Loooove the tank At the end! Those bright colours look good on you!

Tiffany Gotschall: I love your hair color and the intro, anyways I had purchased the Zala ice queen platinum #60, I just received them and they I like a medium blonde. Can you dye your extensions or tone the, I really wish I could send you a picture of the extension I’ve bought from the company over the years they are supposed to be platinum and they’re not I did contact the company and they said if I wanted them really quickly that I could purchase another set and then they would refund me the money I just spent $400 I don’t have another $400 right now to buy another set.Could you please recommend something anything

Smile Jesus Loves you: Freddy is the best!!!!!! My favorite go to color but now I’m darker ugh.... I hate my dark hair slowly starting to go back lighter

Momster: Ugh I want that much hair so bad

Damariz Malo: Just wondering if any stylist can order your hair extensions or do I have to take a class first and pricing on the hair I currently use Hotheads tape ins... thanks

Lupe Sanchez: No wonder I look like I have a motley ‍♀️‍♀️...my hair stylist only put on me not even a whole pack ...now I still have to pit on some clips in....loved your video clip

Nala Fitness: Yay!!! I've been wondering about this, too! LOvE!!

Adrien Jensen: Can u do a video on your favorite extension Safe HAIRCARE?

BRWN SGA: I buy bundles… So if my math is correct in terms of bundles that’s almost 4… Blending in with your natural hair. Wow, that is thick! But it doesn’t look too thick/heavy.. it just looks like healthy hair

Angeline Biswas: Curious where the hair comes from? I just saw a video about where hair extensions come from and it freaked me out a little

Kyrstin Goltz: What size curling iron were you using? And what brand

Samantha Roccoforte: I absolutely will not put less than 300 grams on my head lol

Gaydrian Spears: More is more darling

Vicky Molo: Why do you wear both types of extensions? How long are they? Would you ever just wear one type of extensions? I hope you can reply, X

Hannah Montana: I have always wanted to know how many grams you wear thanks for showing !!

majose81: please a video about your haircut!! :)

Chase Bennett: can u please do a slick straight low ponytail with a ton of hairspray? a tutorial?

Sydney Born: How much is it to do the amount you did on yourself?

Mackenzie Gomez: You need to try virtue labs!!!!!!!!!!! It does what olaplex says it does but soo much better.

Smile Jesus Loves you: I wear four bags for wefts and tapes I wear 5-6 bags of tapes lol

Megan Joseph: I have weft extensions in and I have wat the stylist said is a "dip" in them where when I put them up in a pony tail they bend and the band is pointy sorry doesthat make sense and is this normal? It feels like the band is gonna break in half (can it?)thanks

debbie wendland: Your hair looks better without extensions just sayin ..or maybe if the extensions were shorter and not so much hair . Just my opinion it’s just too much

Satanette 85: Wow so glamorous an luxurious

Katie Renae: do your sisters wear this much hair as well?

Madelaine Bellini: How comes the extensions do not show on you?

Alyssa Scheeler: What inch is your hair??

Nicole Gates: That has got to be so heavy and uncomfortable to wear!

Melody Patterson: So how many tape “sandwiches” do you have in your hair ??

Shopaholic A: Never trust a hair stylist whose own hair is fried and unhealthy.

Venus Hahn: @venushair888
