Best Hair Brush Straightener For ALL HAIR TYPES?
Hair brush straighteners have been on the market for awhile now, but they've never really been that great or even produced somewhat great results in comparison to a flat iron. Today, I'm putting two different types of hair brush straighteners. One is by GHD and this is supposedly the best hair brush straightener on the market. It was sold out for a hot minute and now they're back in stock for a whopping $169! The second one is by the brand TYMO from Amazon for only $45.99 and it's more of a comb rather than a brush. We put them head-to-head on different hair textures and hair types.

See i couldn't just leave it in there like that. Look, how strange you got you guys saw that right touch. It feel how soft that is. Whoa. That looks like i put a hair straightener on my hair. What is happening today? We have the battle of the hairbrush straighteners. We have the old kit on the block, the ghd glide, supposedly it's the best hairbrush straightener on the market, and then we have the nude kit on the block, a newer type of hairbrush straightener very inexpensive, and you can find it on amazon and again. We do have macy to join us for this video. You excited. Yes, i'm excited to see the left. One we're gon na do the cheap one and the right one we're gon na do ghd glide the expensive one. Let'S begin all right: macy's going first she's, the brave soul, uh we're gon na heat, you up all the way up to four okay, because we usually do right yeah highest highest yeah, all right. So what kind of hair do you have very thick curly? You can see like towards the root yeah. What are we thinking? Well, let's see, oh my. That is really straight. That is straight and i didn't have to like put as much tension on it, as the other was the other one yeah just that was cool. Does this one create a lot of tension? No, it slides through pretty easily. Let'S try again all right. Do it the other way now, okay, so we're gon na? Take it underneath this time just to see if i can get closer to my root without burning myself, it is very smooth compared to the other one. Oh that's good. One reason when we're saying the other one: it's the other brush that we tried out. This is the other one that we're talking about that we did last time. We were very impressed with this, but this one is doing far better. It looks that was really great. It'S so smooth that was really easy and my ends, even though they definitely need a trim. They look pretty good, like i took a flat iron and basically shaped them just a difference. I mean from this to that all right, so i'm going to try the same thing just go down first and then actually i'm going to bring it down i'm bringing down to the third one, which is like 3 3. 38. 338. Oh yeah, that is hot, see i could actually just leave it in there. Like that. Look at those streams you got, you guys saw that right touch. It feel how soft that is. Whoa. That looks like i put a hair straightener on my hair. What is happening all right, i'm gon na try it the other way. I'M like scared to get too close to my ear, all right, all right yeah. It does get pretty close to the root when you do that underneath. Oh, i'm missing here just go slower with the ends. You guys saw that right. I was not even holding it and you just very gently just slides through hair, but it still creates a little bit of tension, hold not tension. It creates hold on the hair. This is literally competing against flat, irons, yeah and i don't say that very lightly. Ever i mean look at that amazing, i think we're done for this video. This is just so good. I'M gon na try it this way. That'S good yeah. The best way it is from the bottom, and it's so smooth on the hair - that's crazy! I'M impressed yeah like super impressed with this all right. So, let's quickly talk about this brush right here, this new one that we're trying out today, it's phenomenal it does a far better job than the first one that we tried out from amazon. They have very similar type of plates, but this one that we first tried the plates are very straight. So with this one, what really takes up a notch is how smooth it is and how fast the results are. I mean it was just instantaneous results and the plates they have a little bit of a curve to them, which was shocking. We were thinking that it's gon na tug on the hair, more yeah, but in fact it created really smooth results going through the hair, which was incredible. This is great phenomenal and it's only 45 bucks wow versus 170.. Let'S try this out see if it's worth 170.. Let'S do it? Oh it's it's a hefty one. Let'S try that and there's only one temperature setting which is 365.. Did that just like not do anything or did you get stuck how much it got like stackers like uh, it's like in the princess diary. Oh no doing the makeover you brought my brush. How does it feel? Oh, it looks like it's tugging, your hair, i'm confused. Is this the right way? That'S i saw them doing it that way. Yeah yeah, that's good! It doesn't look smooth at all wow. You look. I mean it definitely created it's a little bit straight in the bottom, but it's not getting towards the top yeah. Let'S try, you got ta, try it like both ways. Okay, that was easier. That'S so much better, but still it doesn't get to your hair. All the way with this, you have to go like multiple times that looks bad um. Let'S try it again and it's not getting close to your roots at all, i'm like really sweating. Let'S try this way. This is a way easier than from going underneath. Yeah. That'S better but look at the ends, and it smells too. It does not smell good. It smells like something's burning. This one doesn't have anything yeah i mean it definitely worked like my hair is straight: it's not getting close to your roots, though compared to the other side, all right. So let's try this closer to the roots. That'S pretty good! That'S interesting! Ah, it's hot yeah and it's yeah, even free for you. It like didn't, go all the way through. That'S really good, but i prefer this side better and i'll. Tell you why. But let me finish this first. Ah, that's hot for short hair! This is way too big. It definitely straightened, as you guys can see, but it didn't get rid of the flyaways from the curls like this side. Just look at how smooth that is. Are you kidding me? There'S no comparison like this side right here. Just i wish i'd love this more all right. Let'S do this, let's finish it off! Okay. What are we gon na do with your bangs? I just don't even wan na try look how easy that is whoa. Yes, yes, oh, that is crazy. Goodness, look at the volume - oh my goodness, wow - that actually looks really good. I'M just trying to get i'm just trying to do it as quick as possible from that this creates so much extra tension that i don't need. I'M like listening, it's like not quite so. I'M trying to be as careful as possible. Oh all, right! Let'S give it: let's give it. The positives is straighten the hair, but you still have to go over it with a flat iron. If you want a super, sleek look and bring the shine back into your hair, because this literally it just took away all the shine versus the left side, even the way it moves. It'S just so smooth it's silky and this side, just it looks like doll's hair, which one won the battle for you. Oh the timeout. By far same, i like this one, better, the new kid on the block for the amount of time it saves you for the like quality of the job it does. I would buy that, and it looks really nice too, and it feels good. It doesn't feel cheap. Yeah, the price is phenomenal for the new kid it works phenomenally and it's really quick. It has more temperature settings they're, not my favorite style temperature settings. I, like the lcd, just just show me what the temperature is. You know what i mean. I don't want to guess this one right here. I do want to say that it is the best hairbrush styling tool on the market in comparison to other very similar hairbrush styling tools, but it is the most expensive or one of the more expensive ones. Does it do a pretty good job? It does a fairly good job. This is far better. I mean you can even compare the two honestly. The results just speak for themselves, in my opinion, yeah. I agree so save your money, even though this is back in stock. Save your money and get yourself one of these much lower priced. It'S great, i think, you'll like it all right. Mary Souza: Hi! I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I have been having trouble with my old clamp style hair straightener due to limited mobility issues. I have been looking for an alternative and this looked good to me, I have very thick hair with large curls. Seeing Macy use this and how well it did for her thicker hair sold me. I just got the 'cheaper' TYMO and used it for the first time today and I am extremely satisfied. With my mobility issues it will take me a few tries to get it perfectly right but it still took me a quarter of the time it usually does with my old straightener and I was not left cramping and in pain as much as usual. Brandi Mills: It would be awesome if you would do a review of this one vs their new version that is more of a paddle brush that instead of the rounded "comb". The new one has ionic technology, but I don't know, it seems like the original one might get closer to your scalp for more root volume, but I don't know. The original also seems less bulky. It might depend on your hair type. I have hair that is already pretty straight, but if I don't wash, I have to get out kinks from sleeping with it in a high pony tail. I also like a lot of volume. It would be nice if you could do a video with them both!

I cannot tell you how much I love this. I have long, mostly thick hair. My hair isn’t curly but does this weird wave that is hard to get out. The tymo worked like a champ! I am so impressed. I have one spot that the curl doesn’t come out no matter what tool I use. The tymo at least smoothed the curl to a barely there wave, much better than anything else. Carol Burgin: I have just purchased the GHD brush and the first time of using I was unsure. Having used it three times more I love it. I have super curly hair I let it air dry and then use the brush and super straight with one pass. I do comb the section before using the brush and the brush goes through hair so much easier not so much drag on the hair. I also like the fact that I can give my hair some movement so very pleased with my GHD brush

Monica Quijada: This is the video that made me buy the Tymo and I do not regret it. Her friends hair is like mine. I have fine hair, but it’s a lot and my hair is about as curly as Milabu. So I have a mix of both of them and layers and the Tymo helped me straighten my hair in like 45 mins compared to the 1 1/2 - 2 hrs it would take me with a straightener.

I bought the Tymo Ring from Amazon and tried it last night. So awesome! I love it!! I’m already telling everyone about it and sharing pics! Thank you! And thanks to Macy! My hair is very similar to hers, more so in the other video. Mine is thick, coarse, and wavy, esp the underneath layers.

Charr Ski: I just bought one and tried it the other day - OMG - I have poofy kinky frizzy hair and this Tymo is the only iron I have bought that actually takes the kink out of my hair. One part of my bangs is so hard to keep smooth and not wavy but this did the trick. I am in Florida - I got caught in the rain (which is pretty bad for my kind of hair) and it still is smooth. WkGeneral WkGeneral: I ended up purchasing the Tymo brush that you reviewed in the video and loved it so much that I ordered a 2d one for my gym bag. However when ordering I saw that they had an upgraded version that has more of a flat brush head vs. the contraption that is on the original version so I ordered that instead. The newer version with the brush is definitely easier to use and does a great job but I'm on the fence about which one is better. I almost feel that the first version does a better job with shine. I'd be interested in your opinion between the two Tymo versions.......Also just wanted to comment that this brush is a game changer for me. I have combo hair that is straight at the roots and very kinky on the bottom. The only way to get my hair straight is to use a blow dryer and top it off with a flat iron to seal and for the shine. If I let my hair dry naturally then try to straighten with a flat iron not only did it take a long time but it just would not come out as straight and shiny as it did with a blowout. With this Tymo brush I am able to let my hair dry naturally then comb it straight in under 10 minutes and it looks as good or better than it did with a blowout.
Michele R: I still ended up going with the GHD Glide and I like it so far but there is a bit of a learning curve. Yours is one of the only videos of someone sectioning hair and actually using it correctly. :)

I didn't have as smooth of a time as you...first it grabbed (or should I say it ate some of my hair) :(...second I think it was frying my hair a little, I had it on 4, then turned it down to 3...I heard my hair sizzling...not a good sound. I couldn't get it straight in one pass. My question to you...did you have any styling products in your hair or only heat protectant?. C CS: Wow I can't believe they're sold out! And the price went up. I got mine Sat, next day shipping. Thank you Amazon warehouse real close . I've played around with it and am very surprised and fairly impressed. I've used it as low as #2 heat and I've gotten results with my naturally wavy/curly hair. I love all things hair so I will splurge on styling tools. For less than $50? After telling my girls about it now they start hiking the price Its pretty solid and really does the job with only 1 pass so that alone is worth a lot to me.

Only thing i'm worried about is given the low price point, how damaging are the plates compared to brands like ghd? Don't even think they are ceramic, also a me problem but if i feed too big of a chunk i'm afraid that it will damage ans xut my hair more because the plates are close from one another (maybe the reason why it is so effective though).

inkonapin: Wow, worth checking out. Is it possible to clean though? I have the ghd Glide and Drybar brush crush and by far prefer the Glide. I like the tension the Glide creates, and find I can get close to my roots if I hold it flat against my scalp to start. The Drybar doesn't hold an even temp imo. The Glide is easier to clean because I can fit a comb between the bristles and use a wet wipe or kleenex to clean the inevitable gunk that accumulates.
