Ever have something in your life that you're really unnecessarily afraid of and you're very aware of how unnecessary that fear is same. It'S um pretty likely be a really good wash day and there's a big giant chance not about to screw it up. If you haven't already figured out today, we are trying out the Denman brush for the first time. I have never used it to style my curls and I am going to use it to style my curls today. If you are unaware, I have very fine low density. Curls that really in general, do not like anything going through it when they're styling, like you, see you've seen my wash day tutorials. If you haven't, I will put those down in the descriptions. I am like adamant that I do not ever wreak products. My fingers, through my hair, after applying conditioner in the shower, so I'm nervous so for all of you that requested this just kidding. There was two of you and I've been planning to do it. For a year, I've just been a big giant baby, but made my mouth she's done a Denman brush tutorial, so his curly Suzy both were really helpful. So I'm gon na put my big girl panties on and try it today. So we're just going to jump right in before we do before we do. I'M not gon na ask you to do anything other than to just look. I see on my bathtub any lady Olenna fans out there same so I'm gon na kind of follow, like means by Mel's, lead on this. I might do a butchered version of her version, but I'm gon na try I'm going to just lightly mist my hair with some water. It'S a little bit drier at my roots. Already then, what I like so just getting a damp, Plus these cute little gray babies up front, perform better when they are wet, just kidding I'll, stop being dramatic. No, I won't some I'm a little bit in a mood. So, okay, I don't you know like how I should do this order to go here, but we are going to start with the cream. I'M going to use the don't scroll, avocado and rose oil clump and define cream, because I'm obsessed just tapping and think of how I should be like extra careful, because you want section by section: okay, okay, okay, oh no! Okay, all right watch! This turn into a how-to straightener, fine, low density curls without heat. Naturally, video, I'm gon na go ahead and just apply the product all over. I don't really. Okay, I'm like really trying to like talk myself through this okay, alright. So what I think means I Mel does is she says she takes a vertical section and then and then she kind of like twist the brush yep. It'S going to be how I straighten my curls video, a lot of pressure all right, so I had to jump off camera for a second, because I'm like having a crisis I feel like in my head. I should probably be using a gel, but in my heart I want to use video India Naturals creme brulee. Then I started second-guessing myself and I went to check my other gels. Nothing felt right and so like Here I am, and I'm just going with the original plan. Okay. So now this I'm going to like kind of smooth and scrunch over one thing, I'm noticing I'm not liking, is how freaking flat my hair is laying to my scalp, and I don't know, is there like a trick to that to prevent that from happening? Is that just what happens did I do it wrong? I don't know this process is scaring me still giving like a gentle tug at my ends to make sure the grays and any other little odd balls are smooth. In now we scrunch, I think, I'm doing taking a little bit more of the custard at my fingers, I'm just lifting my roots. I cannot live my life with a flat root if there is a trick for preventing flat roots when using the Denman brush. Please drop it down below so that movement broke up the clumps a little bit, which I don't hate. I don't care um, but overall, okay, so see you and it's done so. I started to fluff my hair off-camera. Obviously - and I was like hmm - I thought I should jump on and show you all this definition before I go as hard in the paint as I normally do so here we are so I've left a little bit. I haven't fully fluffed, so I'm gon na show you this, then I'm gon na pull up and then wall. You know okay, so defined as hell. I think it's like I'm actually, like really surprised. To be honest, I'm like really surprised that this happened after brushing my hair, because normally I guess I shouldn't be surprised because, like I can dry brush my hair and it'll bounce back, but I still feel surprised. So I guess I just always assumed brushing my hair wet and in the past it's been a problem. If I, if I mess with my hair in the past, wet too much like it would just be frizzy. But now I'm almost thinking but like I mean my hair, is substantially healthier substantially healthier than it's I think ever been. I have better products. I have like an actual routine, so I think that's like a factor, so I'm really like holy definition, that we see this definition right. We see it it's there, it is it's there there this is, might be the Curly's. My hair has been all over the only spot that I'm not loving is like this chunk. This tends to lay a little bit straighter anyways, but it's like extra right now and I'm not sure if I did something wrong, I'm not sure is I don't know so. If again, if you have a trick for this area, I'd love to hear it. Okay, but now I'm gon na, like fluff it out and then we're gon na we're gon na really see cuz. You all know like this definition is cool and all but like. I need to not be able to hear you, you know over the length of my hair. Well, I have a ton of definition. I got a ton of volume and I also can't stop looking at myself. I know that that's not just in this video so but I'm gon na try and pass it off like it is no, but for real okay. This is definitely something that I think I will be trying again soon. I mean like why the hell have I waited so long to try this answer me that, because I don't know well, I do know if she has i've been at the big giant baby and i don't like change. But here we are changing things up and look at the goodness that came from it. There you have it. There is first time styling with the Denman brush on my fine low density curls. So I'm pretty happy with those results would love to know what you all think. micah mcclough: For women of color use the same method on your transitioning hair if you are transitioning from permed hair bk to natural hair this way you dont have to do the big chop. Love your videos

ifinditamazing: You and I have almost identical curl/hair types, and it's so hard to find curly haired youtubers with FINE hair, so thank you for making this!

Heimy R: Hi Janelle! First off I love your videos. As a wavy girl I LOVE my denman brush. I use it or some type of brush every wash day. I think you should try it again. Here are a couple of tips i do that may give you diff results. Take smaller sections and make sure hair is really wet- I think it makes the clumps stay better when it’s really wet. Try taking out some of the rows in the brush- it’ll affect the size of the clumps. I use the brush horizontal not vertical - again it’ll affect how they clump together. Pass the brush one or two times before the final turn where you flip at the end, I feel like it smoothed the hair into place and no fly aways. And also I put all my product in (even gel) and then brush, saving a small bit of gel for scrunching less chance to disturb the curls trying to smooth gel in. Oh and for the roots I turn my head upside down to scrunch in gel making sure to scrunch the roots extra, and sometimes root clipping. Wow that’s a lot now I know why ppl say that curly hair is too much work, it’s a process but at the end you’ll get fab results. :)

NadimahElizabeth: I thought I was losing my mind, everyone talking about this brush like it’s a new thing when my grandmother definitely had them. I had to look it up and was surprised to learn they were invented in 1938 by a man from Northern Ireland and they are still manufactured here where I live! That’s kind of cool.

Pretty Fuckin Feminist: “Yep, it’s gonna be a how I straighten my curls tutorial” This May be my favorite video

Christina Colongne: I’ve been meaning to ask you to do this too . I recently tried my Denman brush again, with MUCH better results from the first time I tried it. Funny thing, I watched the same curly girl Manes by Mel, before I got brave enough to try it... again, cause I found out the hard way... I used it wrong in the past. When you do the top of your head, brush more upwards before curling at the ends, then hold that section near the roots and “jingle” the curls (each section) till they form back and scrunch. Let me know if that helps.

Jennifer Brown: I have similar hair and I remove every other spine, so a 7 spine brush ends up being 5. It pulls less and still defines really well.

Krystle R: You're hair is almost identical to mine! I'm so glad to see someone I can relate to with my hair... Curly hair is so unique and 2c-3a-3b curls seem to be so rare and it's so great to have a channel like yours! Makes me feel like I'm not alone in my hair journey

Marni Ulch: OMG thank you so much for doing this for us low-density hair girls! It cracks me up that you crack yourself up through your tutorials. Keep a grin on your lips, sister!

Brittney Zarwel: I’ve had a denman in my drawer for months and only just tried it to style my curls the other day! I was stunned at the definition as well. So glad you did this so I can see how I’m supposed to do. I just winged it.

Vanessa Roach: This was such a great video. I laughed hysterically the whole time. You crack me up and I love your hair!

Nonnie Iona: Thank you for showing us how it worked for you! I started my CG journey this April and I think I need ‘help’ with my definition. That’s why I asked you to try it out because we have very similar hair (thin, low dense, low porosity). Love the definition tho!

Sarah Hinde: My first time was a disaster, definitely straightened my hair without heat! I’m psyching myself up for round 2

Pamela: I’m so happy you tried this!! I’ve had mine for a little over a week and I’ve gotten better results than before using, but still need to work on technique. You were the first curly videos I watched when a hair disaster set me on a different hair care path a few months ago. I was surprised to find I had low porosity hair and have taken so much of your advice (Olaplex has helped so much). Using the Denman brush was a departure and I found myself wondering if you’d ever tried. Thanks for what you do and how you do it.

Rachel Fishbein: Definitely brush 90° of the scalp with your head upright for all sections, and make sure not to pull at your hair after passing the brush through. Just let it fall. You still got great results. I have been following Mell's methods for a few weeks now, and the Denman is the ultimate time saver for my low density curly hair.

Jessica Pandino: Thank you for this video! I have been seeing this brush everywhere, but I have the same concerns about it just getting straightened! I'm strongly considering trying it out for the product distribution and definition it seems to give!

Dawn Baker: I brush my hair upside down with it. I don't focus so much on each section, just do it all together, then scrunch to form the curls. I think this helps my roots not be so flat. Going to have to pay attention next time.

Katja A.A: Btw. Your hair looks amazing Great video! Will be coming back once I got the brush

Marcy regular acct: Great results! For the top, so it's not as flat, brush smaller sections, and brush them up more vertical and away from your scalp. I too have found that damp styling works better for my fine wavy hair and when I have tried a Denman I've only tried it on soaking wet hair with pretty decent clumping. I'm pretty sure that if I do it on my wavy hair damp it will be much straighter too but I'll have to give it a try.

Larea92503: I feel like the Denman helps a novice like me get even product distribution. The even distribution seems to help my frizz. I do notice less volume because my hair wants to reclump into ringlets even after fluffing. I just have to fluff more often. However, I made it to day four with no refreshing.

dartanjanas: I also have fine low density hair, 2c-3a and was so surprised with good results after trying Denman brush! I used it for a few weeks so far. I use Denman brush upside down to push in conditioner after hair is detangled with fingers, then upside down brush again once gel is applied. Then I glide more gel and scrunch. I get better definition and clumping this way than with ussual coat and scrunch technique. And it also helps with even product distribution.

MrsHNKeller: Hunny, you're no baby. A bad hair day sucks, so it's pretty difficult to intentionally subject yourself to one. Good news is, your hair looks amazing! ♥️ I'm off to get a Denman brush, and give it a go. Thanks for the shout out to my fellow Canadian curlies #itscurlysusie and #manesbymell ♥️ xo Helen

Michelle Beckham: That is an amazing difference from your waves in the beginning to the curls. Looks really pretty.

Brittny Campos: You look fantastic!!!! You and Manes by Mell make me feel like I can do this and my hair will work alright!

K Madsen: I have thin, fine 2c-3a curls and I was very sceptical that this brush would really make a difference but OMG THIS IS A GAME CHANGER!!

Meredith Weaver: Jannelle, you rock! Thank you for being brave and trying the scary things. I hope you are planning on using your move to talk about how your routine has changed now that you live in different humidity. I am a CO girl and I'm legitimately afraid of traveling to a humid place. Thank you for making the curly girl transition easy.

Denise Osborne: I bought the brush a few months ago and haven't tried it yet. Thanks for inspiring me to give it a go. Love your videos.

S J: I LOVE your personality in your videos <3 Im a curly girl too, also grew up a little unstable.. (hugs) Ive been cutting my hair due to cptsd/ocd for the last 5 years and havent been able to stop myself... Naturally my hair curls from the root out (please dont hate me :P ) But I have SUPER THICK (like 4x the width of most people hair strands) and its also high porosity. FOR ME, the fermented rice water, and hair masks were a game changer. I felt so bad watching you go through so much to make your curls curl.. Ive taken mune for granted thats for sure.. Because my hair is curly from the root out, I have to have long layers when its growing out.. Im so terrified of the mid stage for hair regrowth and wonder if thats whats stopping me now from letting it all grow. (Also Im afraid of the gray, and keep trying to let it grow out the way it is so I have options when its long wnough to go have styled. Ugh!!! Thank you!

AlyLaRose: she has that particular look in her eye in the end when she looks at her amazing results, a look in the eyes that says, "damn, I done good". SHE DONE ALREADY DONE HAD HERSES.

kryki_cha: For volume at the top, do horizontal sections pulling straight up. And perhaps smaller sections so you don't group so many curls together and have them drag each other down. I thought it turned out GREAT for your first try!!

Abby Normal: I think I have the same type of hair as you, and I'm so glad that you are brave enough to try this because I am not! My hair is pretty long and thus flat at the roots (b/c of the weight), so I'm already cringing at how much flatter it would be if I brushed it wet. The definition on those curls though... absolutely stunning.

qwitch: My hair is also very fine and low density. I started using a knockoff Denman from Conair, and I love it! One way to help the volume problem is to lift the section either 180 degrees (aka straight up from the scalp), or at 90 degrees (horizontal from the side of your head). The clumps are pretty easy to separate too! I think your results were fantastic.

Justme77: I got the courage up to brush my hair too like how Mel said. I made sure it was wet and I used plenty of product and it came out great!!! My hair is like yours but longer.

Angelica Crawford: I use clips to lift pieces of my roots. Your end result looks amazing! Your curls tend to curl up way more on their own than mine with the brush. But I think the products I use may be a touch heavy.

ScarletVoodoo: I'm no curl expert by any means, but your hair looks less wavy and just straight up curly to me. Pretty ringlets.

French Fry: Love your curls and your style! Your hair looks terrific!

Shannon Lightner: I love your curls!!! My hair responds similarly to the denman. I get a flat spot too.I have stopped using denman because its too annoying. Thanks for the video!

Toni Harrison: I just love watching you in all your honesty!! You are the cutest and I love your vids and info!! Ordered my first Denman brush, cant wait to try it!

Stacy: I've been enjoying your videos, Jannelle! Your hair turned out great using the denman brush! I totally hear you, I don't try things for the very same reason! The main thing is you tried it now. :) Have a great weekend!

Karina CrCo: I've just started using the brush and I love it! A lot more definition happening with my curls...

Linzie Santana: You got CRAZY definition! Like almost a different curl pattern. Yay! Looks so healthy!

The Saint: Great video. For keeping hair off roots I am using two alligator clips at a time to plow the hair off the sides and clip them to one another in an x shape on the top of my head. I use 4-5 sets of 2. Give it a try.

Creatrix Corvus Arts: Your hair looks amazing after the brush! I got myself a smaller one with soft bristles. It only has 4 rows. Your hair is really similar to mine so now I’m going to subscribe because I think you’ll help me to not be so scared/freaked out by the whole CGM process.

Ellen Crane: I got a Denman brush and tried it out. I have 2B/3C curls that I consider fragile. I got some definition and definite volume, but I had the exact same straight/flat roots! Any tips on how to improve the root situation would be very helpful!

Myra Mejias: So I was not happy with my results when I first tried the denman brush but watching your video definately makes me want to give it another try.

esgravois: It does initially straighten with a curl at the end, but there's something about it, when I scrunch and diffuse after this, it is better defined. My hair is similar to yours.

Laura Gutwein: For volume on that top piece I brush up and back, then finger cool that piece. I also like the denman for touch-ups. (Much like using a curling iron in the past.). I re-wet that section, use the brush, and finger coil/curl. Beautiful

FitKat Style: I've used the brush with good definition and it helped to make my chaotic patterns be slightly more uniform. However, I got flat roots and I have even lower density... so that will still take some figuring out for me too!!!

NormaKin: “For all of you that requested it - JUST KIDDING it was two of you...” lmfao that had my rolling.

Pauline Dumont: This is making me want to try Denman brush styling again! Thanks for the vid. And also never stop laughing at your own jokes and your own comments please, it just cracks me up

Lilly Conkright: I know you were nervous but it looks amazing! I use a detangle brush once in a while and it gives me the same results but I have a lot of hair. But your hair is so pretty!

Susanne Grausen: To prevent flat roots, try styling the top layers 90 degrees from your scalp. So the top layers you have to style straight op from your scalp, good arm exercise too

Sarah Forster: Oh my gosh, you got great results! Every time, I use it straightness my hair

L A Hawk: Just found this video. My mother had very wavy hair as does my brother. I had stick straight hair and used to get body perms. Well, about 10 years ago I started to develop wavy hair. (By the way I just turned 60) I have similar curl to yours when wet, but seems to straighten out more than I'd like when dry. I don't know if it was perimenopause or my hypothyroid that is responsible for the waves, but now I would say I'm a 2b or 2c. I too have finer, thinner hair...breakage and hair loss are an issue due to thyroid along with dry hair. Anyway, I used to wear it shorter as in profile picture but currently it is nearly halfway down my back. I'm just experimenting with products and technique. I have at least two areas that are flatter and straighter one of them being where yours is and the other on the opposite side of the close to the face. I will look into trying a denman brush and your techniques. I will check out your other videos to learn about hair products that you use. I'm glad that I found your channel.

Heather Gonzales: Dude! I’m literally watching you with my head of hair, straight down to the grays! Even the ‘straight’ section on your crown. I love my Denman brush. Made all the difference.

Karen Wohlman: I loved watching this Janelle, it was very useful and so funny! You made me laugh so much, OK Loved the results xx

Fiona B: Love your vibe! And your hair turned out great!

C Land: Great wash day!! Mell is adamant about brushing the roots UP, I forget all the time, it makes a difference!!

Palmundo91: Glad to see you try this 'cause not I learned all thin hair isn't always the same. I follow the girl on Instagram on the page @curlycurvypassion and she is like the queen of thin hair..she inspired me to love my curls again and I was shocked when she showed how she brushes her curls too and she gets crazy definition with no frizz...it's like goals for me..I think the more healthy my curls get the more they respond to my crazy attempts to get definition with a comb or brush cuz I hate tangles.

Victoria Rimington: It works best for me when I use mine in sections, 90ish degrees away from my scalp then 'Rake and Shake' so you don't get straight curls. I then apply product using the roping method and scrunch the curls! I love the volume and definition the Denman gives me:)

Runemist: I also have very fine, curly hair... and I really like my Denman brush! I get much better curls with it, and less frizz. I just wish my hair would decide on ringlets or not!!

Katherine Cassidy: Did you dry your hair by diffusing it? And do you have tips? It looks absolutely incredible!

Cheryl Taylor - thecraftnut32: Love your videos! Thanks for trying this technique out

marsha ballard: I have similar hair, but I love the Denman brush. It’s not easy but I have had some great hair days.

Shelby Marie Makes: I'm here because I just got one after seeing/reading RAVE reviews! Used it yesterday and not sure what I did wrong, but my hair is straight halfway down and only curly at the ends- which is worse than my normal styling method‍♀️ I'll have to use your tips and try again

Proud Latina: I love it.... I love it.... I love it I'm definitely getting myself a denman brush for my curls love it your rocking those curls

Paulina Beauty: I just got my denman brush so I can’t wait to use it!

Lularoe Shanna Childress: Thank you thank you for your videos! I have been searching for someone that has the same hair as I have. You're techniques have truly helped me find what works for my hair. I just wanted to say thank you.

Kathryn Wheeler: So for volume up top, smaller sections on the top part of your hair and crown. Also lift from the root and go in an upward motion, then begin the curl. I love my Denman brush. It gives great volume even on my straight hair days after I get a bow out at the salon. I use the same basic technique of small section lifting up and out from the root.

Terry Edwards: Wow you are amazing! I have a denman like brush, and thanks to you I am going to give it a try. Right now! LOL I have been feeling exactly like you, nervous. It's taken me a year to figure out how to rock my curls. And at 60 and a hair dresser, that is hysterical to me. But it's wash day, it's snowing outside, so time to just go do it! Thanks so much for the push to just try it!! I wonder if by not wetting your roots that is why they didn't fluff up more? Just wondering. . . .

María Radical Reads: I have to try this brush. I thought brushes were a big "NO NO" for curly or wavy hair. Thank you for the video

Tracey leigh: Hey great video thanks :-) Iv just started following the curl girl method. And they state "no brushes" but seen so many people use the denman brush. After watching this I think I'm definitely going to try it. Your hair had beautiful curls! And girl your hair ain't thine nor wavy, you got thick hair if you need to part that many section lol lovely curls too xx

Lluvia Broadwell: I just started using the brush my self. I was shocked at how defined my curls were. I too have fine hair. Glad you tried it. Question, I had a friend back in 9th grade, is that you? (New mexico)

ΑΘηνα !: amazing results !!!! you should try to finger coil your top layers in order to have curlier roots and hold your hair up and away of your head while you brush in order to have more volume ... thats what works on me ... i also do this in soaking wet hair but this may not work on your low porosity hair

Kati Benzer: This turned out great! I have a denman brush and I am still trying to figure it out.

American Honey: Your best look yet. Looks great. Some gals clip their hair at the roots for 30 min or so when its still a bit damp after diffusing.

Talya Scholnick: OMG!!!! Finally i think i have found a curl twin!!!!! I just tried my new denman brush yesterday and i was really happy too, and really surprised with the result! Thank u for this video :)

J Bo: This is exciting for me, as we have the same type hair. I'm glad I stumbled upon your page.

Lisa Clum: Similar hair--learning so much for you and appreciate your nervousness cuz I haven't bought this yet and I'm literally scared to even buy it!

Mandy Miller: I was shocked when I saw the difference! I’ve never used a denman brush before and you just encouraged to try one! You have such beautiful curls! I do have a question though did you apply a diffuser with the technique? Or air dry??

Alyssa Rose: I have never in my life seen someone with the exact same hair as me until I saw this video. down to the color + grays, the way it looks in bigger vs smaller Clumps, the length, the way you part it, where it’s at risk for getting flat, etc. holy crap. I’m immediately subscribing and kinda wish we could be friends.

Meghan Branson: Hey, this is a tip I use for flat roots. After you style your hair let it dry with pins clipped to your roots.

Alisha Morton: Hi Janelle- I just started expermenting with getting the most out of my wavy/curly hair. My hair is also fine and I don have a lot of it . I have to be careful because product weighs down my hair. What products do you use?

Erika Fultz: You're so beautiful and totally rad! I feel like we'd be total besties if we ever met in person!! I have fine, low density hair (not nearly as long) and love the definition I get from my denman. First, you may want to remove every other row of bristles so they don't break up your curls so much. As for the flat top section, I take smaller sections, hold the brush parallel to the section of hair and twist it in the direction of the curl as I pull it through, continuing the twist so the whole section ends up curled. Does that make sense? That way the top sections get curled to the root and you don't end up with a little helipad on the your crown!

Angela Valentin: My trick for volume is to flip my hair in the opposite direction I want it to dry in. I then Brush my Denman in that opposite direction. Then for definition, I flick my wrist at the end almost like you would with curl ribbon for a balloon. When it’s all dry, I break up the clumps

Theresa Trevino: I love your videos and this one really got my attention because I have been thinking of trying a Denman brush. So, I haven’t tried it yet. But I was thinking of trying twisting each time I brush, kind of like finger curling. Also, I wondered if before you scrunch all over with your final product, you spray your hair with water, since the products are all water soluble. I thought your hair looked very pretty and it inspires me to try the Denman brush. Thanks for sharing!

Jennifer Kidd: Hi Janelle!! Was just wondering what seller you ordered from on Amazon for the creme brulee? It gave me a ton of options

Stanka Kordic: I like using the denman to get into my scalp (with conditioner in) upside down, and just brush through to make clumps. It’s like scalp therapy. Rinse (clumps seem to hold well) shake, apply styler, scrunch and great volume. Doing sections seems to straighten out my fragile waves, but never tried it with the clumping creme which I too am obsessed with.

Marianne Barbier: I have about the same hair and I'm using a Denman brush for a couple of months, and I have the same problem with flat roots. So after styling with the brush I plop my hair for about half en hour, and then I diffuse with the head upside down for more volume. Il like the result, my curls are curlier and even the straighter parts are more wavy than usual :)

Jennifer Madera: My hair is thin as yours and I was so dramatic about the denman brush too but it helps my curl definition so much!!!! I hope I can explain this correctly. The hair on the right side of my face I brush it out and away from my face while twisting the denman. Never brush downward! Same for the hair on the left side - brush out and away from face. For the hair on top of my head, brush up and away from head while twisting the denman. Basically brush in the same direction as the hair growth but out/up and away from your face/head. By doing that the denman will also add volume to the roots. Hope you can understand this explanation. Lol Remember don't brush your hair in a downward motion, we're so used to that when we detangle our hair but it's not good for volume.

J Nelsimpson: Gorgeous!! This was an awesome video! For your roots, Manes by Mell will go straight up and back with hers...don't know if you did that? But that definition!!

Jenn O'Donnell: I have super fine hair and I’ve been straightening it forever because it looks frizzy and fine whenever I try to get it curly. I’m buying this brush and I’m gonna watch your videos, wish me luck! I hope my hair looks half as good as yours!

Karin Wilmoth: I pulled out two rows of the brush (one on each side of center) and use the brush in the shower when cowashing. I find that if I use it with bent head and use it like a comb (vertical with the length of bristles, instead of horizontal across the bristols) instead of a brush, I get better clumping. My hair gets combed toward the top of the scalp. This minimizes flatness.

jennysbible: she’s so naturally funny, i love these type of people

Lara.LovinLife: Thanks for this video!! I've had a Denman brush for at least 6 months now and I've only used it once bc it's so intimidating! And my hair is way confusing. This me gives me hope to try again.

Dre Huston: Jannelle, I had the exact same results as you...definition but flat on top! I hope someone has the answer for us! Thanks for the video <3

Serena Peterson: I'm excited to find you. Love the curly hair videos but most have great hair, and lots of it. I also have fine, low density hair. Looking forward to getting to know you and your videos!

Kellie: Thank you, i am also a low density fine curly girl. I am afraid to use anything on my hair. I love watching your videos. Now i just need to find someone i trust to cut it.

Terrance Tisdale: Lol you're the first person that I've seen in my 23 years of life with a similar hair type to mine. Our curls are so freaking sensitive!

keawarren: Best your hair has looked! Taking risks is a good thing, y’all!
