I wanted to give you a little sneak peek of my after hair before we get into the video sort of before and then what its gon na look like afterwards. So you know the results are gon na be great, but I wanted to show you how I styled using the Denman brush. This is the seven row. I will talk more about it in the video and all the products that I use. Everything I talked about in the video will be down in the description box so be sure to check it out in today's video I'm going to be using the Denman brush. I want to go through all the stylers and their products at the beginning of this video, so you can see what I'm going to use and then we're gon na run through and actually style my hair with a Denman brush, I'm just out of the shower. My hair is still drenched. It is up in a clip right now and I have this robot on top of my clothes, because it's sort of just dripping on me. But today I used the not your mother's curl talk comb care shampoo as my sort of build up remover. It doesn't remove all the build-up in a room, so good amount of it there's a very nice lather to it. So if you're, just starting out on the curly girl journey - and you can't get over that shampoo - a kind of non shampoo like some people - use just conditioners or shampoo - if you can't get out of that - this is a very gentle cleansing and they can do a Nice lather for my conditioner in my leave-in. I use the diva curl one condition to light love. This smells amazing, very light, but also really really easy to detangle in the shower to detangle. I use a bunch of that conditioner, so my hair is very like very conditioner. I put a lot of water on so it's very easy, like a nice slip to it, so I can put my fingers to write hair. I do like to fully detangle and my fingers: don't do that fully for me, so I do use a wet brush, really love this brush, it's very movable, so it doesn't pull the hair at all. If there's any knots, it'll kind of like work its way through, but just make sure you have enough conditioner and enough water that you're able to detangling with your hands. But if you want to fully like have a nice detangled fully of the hair, you can use this wet brush and it won't pull on your knots. Of course, this whole video is about the Denman brush. I did get mine off of Amazon and link it down below for you. I chose to get the 7ro bristle. I I believe that the curl your hair is, you should get the nine row so that it pulls a little bit differently, but I thought I'd start out with the seven see how I'm liking it. Maybe one day I will upgrade to the nine. I had a four around seven or eight dollars off of Amazon and it took about three days to get to me. It really wasn't that bad, but I have been playing around with this. There was a time when I first use this. I took out it like every other row, so there was only one two three four rows in and I feel like it wasn't holding my hair you'll see when I'm styling it and like my hair kind of falls out. So I'm hoping with more of these bristles that will hold the hair long or till the end of the hair, and I believe this to work a lot better having more rosin, so the curl your hair is, I have around 2b 2c 3a. It really depends on my hair day. It really depends on how my curls are wanting to react that day that I can get up to a 3a with my curls. So today I'm going to be using the seven row Denman brush for today's styling. I want to put in my products now so in the shower. I did my shampoo. I did my conditioner and I left a little bit as a leave-in. My hair is drenched wet. It is up in a clip, but today I'm going to be using my styling products before I style my hair. So today I'm going to use the diva curl styling cream. I have never used this. I'Ve heard great things, but I do love a cream in my hair, and this is curly girl, friendly, which is awesome. All of my products are currently girl friendly, so they have no silicones, no parabens, no sulfates, nothing harsh on the hair that will harm your hair. In any way, also with my styling cream, I'm going to be using the diva curl ultra defining gel love this. It gives a really nice hard hold on the hair. It gives you a nice cast because I ever wanted to be diffusing today. I do want to use the ultra defining gel if I was letting it air dry. I would probably use the light defining gel. It really doesn't give me that good of a cast on my hair, but I can let it kind of if I want kind of like beachy waves, I will use two like finding gel today. I want to do a lot more of a hard hold with my diffuser, so knitting is the ultra defining gel once we're done putting in the product doing the styling with the denim airbrush, I am going to be enhancing my curls just a little bit just to Give it a little more I'm going to using a moose. This is the Herbal Essences totally twisted curl, boosting moose in at level 3 love. This smells amazing, I feel like it doesn't weigh down my hair whatsoever and then, after I'm doing that, I will do curls. Like us, 100 % cotton towel - and I use this to get all of the extra water and product out of my hair before I diffuse end clip. So that's the run-through of what we're going to be doing today. So, let's get into styling my hair. So my hair right now, I just have the one condition to light conditioner. As my leave-in I have about maybe a quarter sized amount of that around my hair. My hair is very, very wet, so what I'm going to do is just put my hair up and have still one half of my head and then do the other half making sure your hair is fully detangle before you use. The styling brush is a must. The bristles are very tightly packed and if you have any tangles in your hair, you don't want to use this to detangle your hair because it will pull the bristles are pretty solid. And then you have knots and working through this you're, probably gon na end up tearing your hair breaking it, and you just don't want that. So make sure your hair is fully detangle, whether you finger detangle or use a wet brush or whatever brush that you use to detangle just make sure that your hair is fully detangle before using the styling brush. Okay, so first I'm going to go with the diva curl styling cream just do a little bit. I don't want to fully wait on the hair and that might be a little bit too much, but I have a very, very dense hair. So hopefully it will be enough. I just never know with new products like sometimes it could be too much. Sometimes it could be too little, but also that's kind of fun. It'S kind of like makeup you just you, have to keep playing with it and practicing and figure out. What'S right for you also, I would recommend putting down a towel. I have a towel down below me. Just for you know, safety purposes, your hair doesn't get wet and you get products and places you don't realize that it's getting everywhere. So just for your safety and for other safety who use the spots that you're styling your hair and just put down like an old towel or go get a towel for a couple bucks in a dollar store. So I'm gon na put in a little bit of the gel now and to put that right on top the same exact method, I'm just gon na rake it through not very much product break it through. You can do praying hands. These products smells so good. You just can't get over how good they smell. One of the great things about the Denman brush is that it's not only for styling but also for evenness of product in the hair, because it is so tight. You see how close and I guess, structure the hair becomes. You are evenly distributing the product, so just gently run your fingers and your brush through your hair to evenly distribute the product throughout and for the top I'm going to do the exact same thing. I'M just going to split it down the middle so that I have even distribution, so I'm just going to use the styling cream once once again and then the ultra defining cream on top okay. So once again, I'm just wanting to run the Denman brush through my hair, just be gentle just in case there are any sort of twists that are happening in your hair and you don't want to pull in a break the hair. I mean look at that like that is just combing it and how much it clumps together and you get like come on right, a lot of product in the brush itself. So I just picture window, it is rubber, so it's easy to just sort of clean out. So right now I just put my hair up in half again I'm going to take this section and probably do the top by itself. I do have very dense hair, so I'm just going to take this small section. First, I'm going to split my hair in half and I like to do the back to the front so that I can see what I'm doing okay, so I just took a big section in the back of my hair: it's not too big, but it's a good Amount of hair - I'm just going to twist this up here, so I don't bother it and just make sure it's all together with the denim rush, I'm going to go underneath and brush it out, just one or two times just to make sure that the hair is Evenly distributed and clump together, so it's third and final time or whatever you feel it's necessary. You go up and twist the brush so that the back of the brush starts to form and at the end, it's going to flick your hair, and you just want to take it and this sort of give it a little shake and a scrunch. Okay, emphasizing that you want it to start to curl up and it's very clumpy and for the whole process of my head, I'm going to do the same exact thing give a little shake and scratch. That was a good one. It was a really good one and I am noticing: do you see how, when I'm doing this, it's actually holding the hair throughout the bristles, the less bristles you have, the more your hands likely to fall out and not actually stay kind of like it'll. Do this, so I would recommend just testing it out trying out with your hair and with hair, it's going to be different and testing out. How many rows work for you, and you definitely want to hear that squishy sound. If you don't, I would recommend adding some water in it or in your hair. Just put a little bit of moisture back in your hair and I wonder, do the process throughout my head. So I'm going to take a small section on this side and do the exact same thing. This may seem tedious and you're like why. Why would I do this clump egde clump? That is why I do this. Of course I get nice clumps. When I don't do this with my hair, but at the same time, on dentin when you're like me - and I really just want my hair to work and it works for a good amount of time - I feel like I can go 2 to 3 days with good Clump itch in my hair and not feel like, I need to do another refresh or a serious wash day. Ok! So now, let's go on to the other part of our head, I'm going to work on small chunks out of time. Just so, I can make sure that my hair is curled all the way around the club pitch is so good with this brush. I just can't get over how good it is like right now and then, when it curls up your hair, just especially with the mousse in and then we scrubbed out a little bit of a water and the excess product. It'S gon na look so good! So here's how my hair is looking right now, really good definition, lovin it okay. So I've read only part, my hair right around here, so I'm gon na do this piece and the rest of this will fall to my left side. I'M noticing a lot more sort of spiraling when I flick out and then almost bring it upside down and then flick it. So I'm going to try that with the rest of my head but see how much more curl I'm getting I'm noticing. If I flick it just a little bit more, it curls up just a little bit. Okay. So now I'm going to go almost all the way around and yeah its spiral is just a little bit more. So I'm just gon na keep doing that throughout, and I will definitely remember that for the future, it is just curling, just a little bit more, I'm using the back of the brush yeah for sure see you got to just keep trying and then eventually find out What works for you? Okay, I'm just going to do one more scrunch, all the way around okay. So let's give you an overall view of my hair right now. The clumps are definitely form you see that they are clumping, so I want to put in one last product. This is the mousse I'm going to put in love. The smooth smells amazing and a little bit goes a long way, but it's very, very foamy, but did to send it rates very fast. So you do need a little more product than you usually do, but I'm just going to I'm just going to bring hands very gently and scrunch it in, but I go a little by little. I don't like to apply too much product at once, or else it can get a little too heavy and a little too sticky in my hair and it weighs it down. So that's not funny and I want a little more root, lift so we're going to apply this upside down. So you get a little bit up the excess water a little bit of the excess product. That'S just sort of sitting in there I'm going to use my towel and just scrunch my hair, then a little more relavant on my roots. So I'm going to go ahead and just flip. So today I'm going to be diffusing. I'M going to use my ultra chilo EMF. I'Ve had this for at least 10 years. It'S never. Let me down. The only thing is there is a high and low setting, which is always great, but this little button is the cool setting and the only way to keep it on cool is to hold it down. So I have to hold this down the entire time and I used a cool setting the entire time. It does take a little bit longer, but but I get less frizz and I get more of the hard hold on my head. The way I use this is the pixie curl diffusing method, I believe so off right now the thing is off. Take a section of your hair into the diffuser: go all the way to the head so that the little prongs are touching your head, and here you will turn it on high or low and then hold down the cool setting. You can do warm and then keep doing like push the cool and it gets too hot on your head, but you will keep it on your head when you're ready to let go. You turn the blow-dryer off and then take the hair out of the diffusing and do the same thing all the way around the head to get more volume put your head upside down. I will be doing that because I just want more root, lift and I want a little more ba-ba-boom. It doesn't have to be as curled up top. I don't have a lot of curl on the top of my head, as you can see right around here. Doesn'T curl as much it starts to curl a little bit more halfway down more easily it just curls on its own, but today I'm going to be using no heat on my head. All cool and I'll probably use one and two on the settings at high and low. That really doesn't affect my curl pattern, but using the pixie method, where you turn it off, put your hair in and turn it on when you're ready turn it off and then take your hair out lot less frizz and the hard cast on my hair. I actually get the hard cast when I'm done diffusing, so I'm just going to go. Do this around my head, I'm going to flip upside down, I'm going to side to side, but I'm going to use the pixie method to dry. My whole head it'll, be about! I want to say I want to get it's around 85 to 90 percent dry Matt. That is until I get like the hard hold on my head, but it's still a little bit damp around my scalp, because that's usually where I get the most damp, it stays damp for a very long time. It'S only been about 10 minutes, but staying in like one spot, it's just my hand starts to cramp up, especially holding a cool button. If you have a blow-dryer that has a cool automatic button, you can just click it and let go it'll be so much better for you. So if you are on the lookout for you, blow-dry look for one that has a cool setting, that you can just click and just leave it because holding it there just cramps up my thumbs. Okay, so I diffused for about 15 to 20 minutes. I am exhausted. You wouldn't think you'd be exhausted, but if you budge a few who diffuse your hair, you know how exhausting it could be. So my hair is about 85 % dry. I think I'm done defusing her today. I'M just I just can't do it. I feel so lazy, but I can't do it. One of the things that you do want to notice is that my hair is a little bit frizzy on top. That'S gon na happen when you diffuse, whether you use a lot of product, whether you have gorgeous hair, diffusing, just sort of brings up a lot of those little flyaways and that's what's gon na happen. But I have more volume. So it's either air dry and have less volume, but have less frizz or diffuse and have a little bit of flyaways and frizz and have more volume. So it's really up to you and your preference for instantly doesn't bother me like when I see curly girls with frizz, like I understand, like that's just a curly girl thing so, but I have a little bit more volume so right now, I'm just going to root Clip so I have a few different root clips that I use the ones that I have used for ages and ages and if you've watched any of my other videos, you know that I have talked about the Ebro curl clips. These are about two inches long, they're. Very very dense, I believe, they're made for girls with like type three up like 3b 3c for a up kind of curls arms have little more dense, but I still use them. I clip, and it holds my hair up nicely. The other ones that I got are from Sally's they're a little bit smaller. If you have sort of thinner hair - or you know you just don't - want the big s Clips like in your hair. I got these from Sally's and I got a box of 312 in here the diva Pro clips. I believe they give you eight or nine in the little packaging for the D, vocal clips, I'll link it down below, but it's not like inexpensive but they're, not super expensive and these difficult parts you get twelve. I want to say they're around two or three dollars at Sally's and they're a little bit smaller, but you can take smaller little chunks and still clip up the hair and it's not as heavy or big in the hair. So I mainly just gon na focus on the front of my hair. I'M gon na. Take this one note and always be gentle when taking out your clips, you don't want to pull. I trust my hair from side to side throughout the day, so I'm gnarly not going to focus on my part he's like scattered throughout my drawer, but I just want to give myself root, lift right around the front cuz. I do flip back and forth. Okay. So now my roots are clipped. I will be back in a little bit when my hair's completely dry and won't scratch out the crunch. Okay, so my hair is almost almost completely dry. There are a couple like dam spots, new migrants underneath, but that's not going to kill me to scrunch out the crunch. I would not recommend if your roots of top top are damp, but these are all the dry. Just underneath is a little damp. So I don't mind if I scrunch those out early cuz, you don't see them. Okay, just do this very gently, so we're not trying to break up the curls. Let'S be gentle. So now I'm just going to scrunch out the French put my fingers at my roots. Just to loosen it up just a bit and if you like me and your curls tend to fall a lot day, two don't fully scrunch out all the crunch like leave a little bit of it in so that your hair has a little bit of room to Scrunch the stuff out, while you sleep and then throughout the day, if you are a hair touch her or you just tend to play with your hair or flip it a lot just to leave a little bit of that crunch in and it will be awesome day. Two you'll have a lot more definition. Okay, so here are my finished results. I don't put anything else in. I have a lot more definition in the back of my head. Usually it is basically just almost like a 2a and the back. It'S really wavy, but look how the clumps turn out and look at the definition all the way up once I turn the brush upside down sort of doing this and flipping it over the back. You get a lot more definition of top so from here on out. I'M definitely going to be doing that when it comes to styling it's you know, you try things out and you like things along the way, but I'm really happy with my overall results. This is usually where I part it, so it's probably more defined this way, but that is how I use my Denman brush. I will always link all the information and the products that I use down in the description box with their links. Serra Bird: Hands down the BEST video I've found about the Denman brush and 2b-3a curling method. I love the patient, step-by-step explanation and all the information she has put into it. It also helps that she has a calm voice and eloquent speaking as it is a long video.

Rebecca Romine: I have probably watched over 75 curly hair tutorials and never once did anyone mention to put down a towel for safety reasons. Thank you for sharing that important, but overlooked detail! I’ve almost slipped in the bathroom before because of all the water droplets on the floor.

Emma Kathleen: I've been trying to find a good tutorial for trying the curly girl method and yours is the first one I feel like I could actually do! Thanks for explaining everything so well. I'm excited to give this a try :)

QuiteDistinguished: Yes yes Yes!!!!!!! Finally a tutorial from someone with low porosity hair who doesn't use fistfuls of product. You're the first tutorial I've seen with hair texture and porosity like mine, so it helps to see what kind of results I can achieve with the Denman brush. Also, I've been pixie diffusing for years, and it is the BEST way to diffuse to minimize frizz and maximize root volume......honestly thought I was the only one who ever used this method. Thank you so much for this tutorial!

L Bebko: Thanks so much for this! this is the first time I've seen someone post a curly girl/wavy young lady video whose hair was anything like mine. I also have dense, fine, multi-patterned hair that can range from a 2b to a 3c depending on section, day of the week, which way the wind is blowing, who won the World Series, who knows what else, and this was super helpful. Excited to try out a Denman brush

Maryan: Love how long and detailed this is. Getting to watch from start to finish. Been looking for a video like this. A lot of people do it a little then skip to the end. Thanks!! ❤️

Angelica Alvarez: I’m so happy I found your channel. We have pretty much the same curl pattern and hair length so I will be tuning in to your future videos for sure!☺️

Jesse Smith: Very helpful, thank you! I have 2a and 2b hair and I'd love to get my hair to look like yours. Great video.

Marisa McGovern: Hi, such a great video! This was so helpful. I have 3A-B hair and even doing this method with just a vent brush I noticed my curls are more bouncy and less frizzy. I just ordered the two brushes- can't wait to try it. You have beautiful curls by the way! <3

Joycelyn Taylor: I'm a 4a and use this brush as well. The result is a beautifully wavy afro. I get a lot of compliments. It's a better style for me. It's less work and fuss than a twist out style. I use DevaCurl and Moxy products.

lynnesullivan49: This is incredible! I've never seen anyone with hair that looks exactly like mine!! And I've watched a lot of curly hair videos. You've sold me on trying the Denman brush, which I had thought was only for people with really strong, defined curls. Thank you!!

Carolina Martinez-Botero: Great video! You explained everything very well. As a matter fact, that's the way I use my Denman brush and I'm glad. I discovered that tip few days ago on my own and it worked really good! Thanks for sharing!

Vera Vegas Experience: As a beginner, this is the best transition into cgm for me! Thank you so much for sharing this!

Aracelia Chaidez: Love, love, love all the details your video includes that I have not seen in any other curly hair videos. THANKS for taking the time. Very real and hands on.

Bex D: Thanks so much for this tutorial. This is how my hairdresser dries my hair (including using the little clips) and I just couldn't repeat it until I saw this!

Moonbeam 7: Thank you very much for taking the time to put together this video. Very instructive and clear and uncomplicated

K Ham: Great job! I am a curly girl veteran, and even I learned some new tricks from you. I think you described everything very well. I also have a stupid dryer that requires holding cool button down.

Kelly Humphries: Hi! Just wanted to say thanks for this video and the awesome tips about the Denman brush. I first watched this about 12 months ago and have had great results following your techniques!! Thanks a bunch!!

MeepSheep: I've just started to follow the CGM and bought this brush yesterday. I can't wait to try out your technique for myself. Thank you for this detailed video

Swavy Curly Courtney: Wow! This is really awesome! I ordered a Denman brush last Thursday! I'm really looking forward to playing around with it now!

blgolpe: Put a rubber band around the handle so that when you need the cool button to stay on just roll it on top then pull it off when you want it to stop.

Pixel: I have the same hair type as you! For my whole childhood I had frizzy fine hair strands but a whole lot of them so it looks thick. I recently realized that my hair was wavy/curly and have started trying it. It seems like every time I wash it, it gets curlier and curlier!

Curl Girl: Great tip about putting down a towel on the floor. I have completely wiped out in the bathroom after slipping on a wet floor with product, more than one time!! Great video! I used the Denman brush for the 1st time today and it did not go as smoothly as your tutorial. I didn't section it off nicely like you did. Twisting it out of the way is a great idea. Also, my hair felt wet but it didn't make the squish sound. So, I have learned some new ways to try it. Thanks!

Naomi Pena-Henao: Wow I love how your hair turned out. Every time I have to wash my hair, I want to run away because I have soo much hair that I have to do small sections. I recently cut my hair above my collar bone and I still have to to do small sections lol. In the end I suck it up and do it and it comes out bomb asf ❤️ I have the Denman brush as well and I took out 3 rows and wonder why my hair would not stay on the brush. Now, I know why lol. Well, I'll put back the 3 rows to the brush and I can't wait to see more hair videos from you.

Carley McGovern: You explain all of this so well!! I’ve never heard of that brush before!

Kaye Field: So informative! My brush is arriving today and I have been looking up how to use it but am struggling to find hair like mine. So thankful I found your video!

Trish Ski: Excellent video! Great detail and explanations. You are really a natural. Your hair turned out great!!

Lane: I’ve been doing this style of defusing for years. Didn’t know there was a name for it! Ha! Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make it. :)

Allyson Sixx: I quite literally have almost identical 2b waves as you (although I do have a few layers, not too many tho) & this brush has proven over & over to just be a cumbersome nuisance. It’s so much work & no desirable results. I simply take the time to really scrunch in sections while hair is soaked. This brush really seems to work best on 3b+. Im s1 who’s always going after that volume & there are several good products out there but aside from gel products containing flaxseed, I have 2 recommendations that are bomb af. 1 is Aveda confixor & the other is a bit more expensive (but worth it), it’s the L'ANZA Healing Oil Bounce Up Spray $30. The IGK Nordic Cotton spray gives almost untamed volume when sprayed on the roots just before diffusing too. But 1st I prime w/the IGK “Sold Out” priming spray for wavy/curly hair, then a tiny amount of AG Curl Recoil, then either the L’anza or Confixor. Then, after the cast is formed & hair is 85-90% dry, I spray IGK Nordic Cotton on the roots & diffuse. The results are fantastic. My hair weighs down easily but I do need moisture (especially bcz my hair has highlights). But once the dryness &/or frizz is taken care of using product — I go after that sexy volume. I don’t like when my curl clumps are TOO thick & separated bcz the curl clumps look too heavy & basically just drip dried — it’s not a pretty look on me. I want full, voluminous, springy curls & this is how I achieve it!

Ruusu Ensio: Thank you! I was experiencing with the brush but the results weren’t that great yet since i couldn’t find a tutorial for a curl pattern similiar to mine but now i did! I’ll be trying this out next time i wash my hair

Elise Bach: My hair is very similar to yours!! So this is very very helpful

Tawnya Lamane: I did not think your hair was curly based on how it was looking but wow! I am about to denman brush and diffuse for the first time ever. My cut is currently layer free so this will not be ideal but I am so sold on your method. Totally shocked how your hair turns out. HOW does brushing not ruin the curl?! My day 2 hair is faaar curlier after I wet it. Does this mean I’m using too much product day 1?

Whippy99: My hair is about ten times curlier than yours. When I want the curls 'tamed' I twirl it around my finger to create ringlets (after adding curly-hair, frizz-free mouse) then either leave it to dry naturally, or use a diffuser. Then I run my fingers through it and add tons of serum. I have used a Denman brush since the mid 70s to smooth pout my curls when I want a sleeker, straighter look. It's the best brush on the market!

Alexis Guerra: I'll have to try this method. I've tried my denman once and didn't really notice a difference but i didn't try to fluff up the curl after. Thanks girl !

Lauren Schwartz: This has been the best video I have seen about blow drying. It has helped me IMMENSELY. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Christina Obert: Please do more hair videos.we have such similar hair and your so helpful!

Trish: I’m a CG method newbie and got a denman brush but had no idea how to get good results so I definitely need to try this method! You mentioned refreshing your style between washes, what do you do? My hair turns into a frizzy mess by day 2

Xonia B: You explained every important point really well. I wish I saw your videos earlier. The pixie diffuse is really important and nobody seems to use it in tutorials.

YouTube Blast Off: Nice job with the video. Very detailed, step by step.

mguttelewitz: Really great video! This styling will be my guide coming back to curly hair. :)

lisa morand: Beautiful work. Does the scalp area not have to be dry to support the curl? And what about a shine spray after your done? Excellent video.

sfolsen421: Thanks so much for the tutorial. My hair texture and curl type is similar to yours so your tips were great! Ordering a dolman brush when I get back from vacation to try it out.

Sara G: OMG this is so detailed!! Thank YOU!

Britta Feyerabend: I hear you! I never have the patience to dry my low porosity hair until it is fully dry... But many good tips. My hair is a little shorter than yours now and I have a really hard time parting it for all the steps and to keep it apart for brushing out the strands.... If anyone has any good tips for how to treat sections of shorter hair without getting them all mixed up, I‘m eager to hear them....

Brandy Parkerson: FINALLY a video that explains the denman brush that makes sense to me. Thanks!!

Christina Haynes: I finally found someone with the same hairdryer as me!!!! I honestly love it so much and I scratch my head when I realize it’s 10 years old and not broken yet..... Also the diffuser does the trick for me, I have a similar cut and hair texture to yours.

Stephanie Robinson: I put a ponytail band on the handle of my hairdryer wrapped twice and it holds my cool button down nicely!

Pookiesan1: Good method! But if you want more volume at your roots, I suggest getting a full highlight. Afterwards you can darken your roots a bit with a demi permanent brown shade. It seems redundant to bleach and then tint back, but the bleaching process opens up your cuticle, thereby giving you more volume that you wouldn't otherwise have with shiny, flat, natural hair. Make sense? ❤️

Sara G: I have 2C curls. As soon as a brush my wet hair out of the shower, my curls break up and get frizzy af. Hoping this will work. A defuser on my Dyson also frizzes my hair. I tend to braid my hair when it's wet and then take my braids out. The only thing that doesn't frizz my hair

Alicia's Reviews: Thank you. I have tried other methods and this really worked for me!

Ballerina Blush: you explain it so well... thank you

Christy Smith: Your hair looks the same color and wave as mine. Yay! I will try the Denmam brush again. I caught a few new ideas .

Bean People: Honestly, I wasn’t convinced on the Denman Brush until this video and now I LOVE it ! Still learning how to use it but this video was exactly what the doctor ordered

Stevie.Scribbles: I get such BAD wet frizz. I'm so jealous of your smooth wet hair!

Pure Rosa: My hair is SO FRIZZY but I know it can look so much better. I'm just starting my journey to have beautiful curls. My hair is like a 2c-3b with big loose curls along with loose coils.

Gracie’s Mom: Excellent tutorial!

naomilove: we have the exact same hair down to the detail i’ve never seen someone else w the same hair as me im for sure gonna follow along this video next time i wash my hair

Berchy Zgb: I had the same problem with a cool button, but I was done with it and put a duck tape over it, you just have to really push the button in and stick, and it's stays like that even when I don't use the blow dryer, it's way easier, my tumbs were dying before

Rosalie Bakker: Do you happen to know if there is a difference between the Devacurl styling cream and the Devacurl coconut supercream ? My texture is a bit similar to yours. 2a up to 3c curls in some places I think

Mikaela Cornelissen: Ummmm okay…. I am obsessed with your videos!! I just came across this video and I love the way you film and edit!!! Also, you are so gorgeous and seem like a really genuine person and I love that because it makes your videos so enjoyable to watch!! I just hit the red button and can’t wait to watch your channel grow!! I’d love if you could support me too!! Stay connected and continue producing this amazing content!!

Annie Herz: This was super helpful ! Honestly way to much work for every wash, but I’ll definitely follow some steps on the regular ! Thank you !

Dianna Honey: Omg!!! I was never able to do the denman technique but I just did it!!!!

Mrs.T: This was an awesome tutorial.

J. Jam Carter: Your natural hair color is beautiful. I swear I dyed my hair that exact color for years!

meghan oneil: I know this video is old but I just got one today and this video is amazing! I can’t wait to try in the morning

clafount: I think I finally get how to use it! Your hair seems similar to mine. I wish I had watched this before I washed my hair today...

Mariyum Millan: I didn't know how to use the brush until now. I'm struggling with definition in my hair. Thanks so much! ❤❤❤I will try tomorrow, my hair wash day.

Nancy Newman: Fantastic ! These brushes have been around since I was a girl !

Mrs L: Very pretty! Thank you for sharing.

Maureen Moran: You’re good at teaching! Thanks

Amy: Watch Manes by Mell’s video on finger coiling... would work wonders with your hair texture and help the curls to become curlier and more defined :)

Teasha Bowes: I use this same kind of brush but coil it with the brush ans the results are amazing!

Patty Heisler: Your curls are gorgeous!

Maria Quintero: Can you make a video on having nice waves or curls without using all these products that are not easily accessible to many people....wavy and curly hair shouldn't be this stressful.

Stacy Kelly: I have used that mousse for years even before I was CG. It's a ride or die for me.

Dawn Holmes: I get you, my day 2 is almost straight.

Mary Widener: Your hair turned out awesome!! Do you think your hair would turn out good if you just used the Denman brush and not the Devacurl products? Just curious bc I wasn’t super in love with those products

hopeangel1970: I have the same hair type. I don’t use a special brush or many different products. I just comb my hair, use light gel and off to work I go my hair air dries on the way.... sometimes I get to work and my hair is wet...a defused will help..

Jose Contreras: I appreciate your details when it came of how to turn the brush. Thanks

Inela: Parabens won't actually harm your hair, they are used in cosmetics industry to preserve products (mostly for hair and skin), but they are bad because they are carcinogenic

Maria Quintero: Can you make a video on having nice waves or curls without using all these products that are not easily accessible to many people....wavy and curly hair shouldn't be this stressful.

Reagan Luker: It’s funny because I do the exact same thing as you with the same products I have always put the robe around my clothes and I’ve never seen anyone do the same thing as me. I’m getting a denman brush and I’m excited. Same type of hair too.

Pattie Pepper: SUPER Prettyyyy!!! My hair is nothing like yours, but it was so fun to watch!

Zephyr828: Why not just take a piece of electrical tape and tape the cool shot button down so you don't have to hold it the entire time? also, they make vented root boosting clips. You might want to get yourself some of those.

Dani Taylor: Really love this very detailed video (I am easily confused)! I am wondering how important it is to use the defuser? I'm pretty passionate about NOT using one. What could I do instead? Thanks!

Troy White: Loved your video. My beautician recommended a Denman brush for my hair but I didn't know why it was pulling my hair out now I know I have to detangle before using. thank you!

Moonbeam 7: Thanks also for listing the products and items used. Can you tell what was the brand of the other brush - the multi-colored wet brush?

Ohio Ladybug: This may be a dumb question but....If the curl styling products are so good, why do you have to use more than 1, especially 3? I’m not saying it’s wrong as I’m new to this but just curious.

Suzanne: Please explain exactly what the Denman Brush does compared to not using the brush. Thanks.

Sweet Jaybaby: Great video!

Genise: I have the straightest of hair, yet I just watched this entire video all the way through.

acastacie: We have the same hair texture I’m so happy

Ava Yousufi: My hair straightens to barely wavy the moment I leave the house or I go to sleep. What am I doing wrong. I’m so upset and giving up feels right. I just bought the brush though! Also do you have to use curl cream? I tried the squish to condish method with sun bum leave in and Design Essentials Natural Almond & Avocado Curl Enhancing Mousse yesterday. I diffused. It looked so good but then I went to the doc and it looked awful by the time I came home :(((

ginny4e: This is awesome, thank you! Have you tried the Cantú brush?

October: This changed the game for me thank you!!

Sofia N Lomba Guzman: Is it better to put mousse after? I always use before the denman brush

JoAnn Parmentier: A small piece of tape to hold in your cool button might help.

msshorty681: Hello, I’m new to your channel! I’ve just started my curlygirl journey. I’m not even sure what type of curls I have! I just heard about the clips and the denman brush and I don’t even know how many rows I need. Where can I get this info? I saw that brush at Sally’s and it was $17!

Nota Smith: You are soooo lucky you can touch your hair that much out of the shower. As a rule, most curly girls are taught HANDS OFF until it’s dry.. Needless to say, I work QUICKLY to get product in. Touching hair when it’s started drying is a huge NO. I was in awe that at 11 mins into the video, you were still touching and clipping. ENVY.
