Music : “Mission to Mars” Audio Hertz

Hi everyone welcome to my channel and in today's video tutorial i will be making these really cute knotted headbands my toddler's joining me today. So if you hear him talking okay, baby and if you love them - and you don't want to make it yourself - you could always go on my website www.janastar.com and you could purchase them there all right and before i begin don't forget to subscribe to my channel and Click that notification bell to get notified whenever i post a new video. The things that i use are a cutting mat, rotary knife, a ruler, scissors sewing machine and i have my wooden boards. These are to make all kinds of headbands and head wrap for different baby size and different head circumferences. Okay, so the best fabrics to use for these type of knotted headbands would be rayon spandex. This is really thin. This is lightweight, but it's stretchy double brushed. Poly. Ribbed fabric or bullet i'm going to use my rotary blade and i'm just going to cut off the edge. So it's going to be head circumference plus 12 inches. So i'm just going to do 13 plus 12, i'm going to cut 25 inches and then what i do i fold this in half i'm going to fold it again. I'M gon na place my ruler and i'm going to cut at the bottom. So the bottom is straight: okay and then the width is going to be eight inches, and here it is for thicker fabric, i cut hand circumference plus 14 inches. So this would be like the really thick fabric, it's stretchy, but it's thick anyway. So here's my strip and the fabric is facing me the right side up and i am going to fold it in half if you're a beginner sewer - or this is your first time making these i suggest, pinning because these knits tend to be kind of slippery okay. So, on top i'm gon na put a matching thread and also in here matching thread and the tension i'm going to put it all the way to nine the setting is going to be eight and then right here it says 2.5. I'M gon na raise it up to four, it's the highest one that it goes to and then i'm going to hold this back button and it just stops on its own and then i'm just gon na keep going all the way down. Once i come to the end, i'm just going to hold the back button and that's it, and this is what it will look like. Okay, now i'm going to flip this here's my edge and i am going to fold the edge inside and i'm going to sew over here, regular stitch and then since 2.5. I just change it to three and i'm going to leave the tension at nine and then i'm going to press the back button. Make sure you don't go all the way down to the edge, because these fabrics, the machine, tends to eat them and get stuck right. There because they are stretchy and then slowly i just kind of go forward and then i can go faster at the end. I'M gon na press the reverse button again and then go forward all the way down, and this is what it looks like. So i'm going to lay down flat with the sewn seam facing me and then i'm going to get my board, so i'm going to place it in the middle, so this is for, like a 13 inch head circumference. So i am going to fold this over like this and then this bottom one i'm going to put it over and under so it looks like this okay and then tighten it and don't make it too tight um. You want this to be snug, not tight. So i place my hand over here and put this over my hand and then this top one i bring over like this and then see how my hand my fingers right here so there's a hole and you're gon na grab that one and go like that, and Now that's done, i just move this more forward, and so the second knot is not supposed to be tight and there it is you're, just gon na slide it off and here's a little headband. So all right. Thank you so much for watching this video and if you like this video, please give it a thumbs up and if you like these headbands, but you don't want to make them yourself, you could always go on my website. Www.Janastar.Com and i sell these there.
