MY HAIR JOURNEY: Started 09/2011 (w/o the big chop, just decided to take better care of my hair)

Be blessed,

~Ckey~

Hey everybody Sikhi here and I'm coming to you with another video. Now this is a short and sweet, simple type: video! Okay! I just wanted to come to you guys and talk to you about my favorite favorite favorite, hair accessory of all times. It'S none other than this banana clip. There you go there, you go now. What kind of sparked this video is. A lot of people ask me how come I wear my hair up all the time, and so I want to address why I wear my hair up. All the time, as well as what I use to wear my hair up all the time and the different hairstyles that I create using it now, I'm gon na talk about five hairstyles that I use with this handy-dandy banana clip, but I'm not gon na do a Tutorial on it, I will pop in some pictures, though, and I will link the videos down below to where you can find the tutorials, for the looks that I'm gon na talk about okay. Why do I always wear? Am I here in updos or protective styles number? One I like to practice low manipulation on my hair, because I noticed that my hair thrives so much more when I don't mess with it that much number two. I noticed that my hair is much healthier. My ends are protected if you guys are familiar with protective styling. Protective styling is one of the best ways to retain length. Okay, because your ends are constantly tucked away. You don't have to trim your hair as much because your hair is not out in the element. You know being broken off or rubbing against your clothes or your shoulder or whatever the case may be, so I love it. Okay, our instant, this hair stop and I'm rocking right now I am going on two weeks with this wash and go. I kid you not matter of fact. I touch it only twice a week to refresh my ponytail. I pretty much use this little scarf to tie my edges down and then pop my bonnet on top, and that is how I do it. When I get up in the morning, I don't even have to touch it. If I do, I just put a little bit of wax on my edges to make sure that they're laid and that's it one three I do not like shrinkage. My hair is pretty much broader strapping lengthen out. So when I do watching those it shrinks too. Literally up here when it dries - and I just don't like that, because I have fine here - it's not this voluminous like wash and go or this voluminous twist out, okay. So that is why I like to keep it up all the time because it makes it look. So much fuller and it's just low maintenance for me, and I love that. Oh awesome, I do promise in 2014 and if I do not do it, you guys hold me to it: okay seriously. In 2014, I want to revisit twists out to more. I don't want to revisit braid outs because I've never really cared for braid outs, because I didn't, like the whole zig zag type pattern that my hair would do after I take the braids down, but I'm gon na revisit. I seem to have a little more limb. I may even try to stretch my wash and go or diffuse it or do something I don't know, but I am gon na try something different. I may even pop some wigs on I'm just saying I actually have been thinking about just thinking. Don'T quote me just thinking about Flatiron anyway, I'm not really sure about it, though, because this coming June, one mark two years since I Flatiron my hair okay, I love my curls and I just don't want to risk getting heat damaged. I know I can do the Flatiron at 350 or 325 or something like that, but I just love my curls so much, but if they were heat damaged a little bit, my little heart will be broken so anyway, back to this banana clip, I have this hairstyle. It'S a tutorial, I think it's called a messy bun and all I do is I put my hair up in like a ponytail form with my banana clip and then I simply use bobby pins to create the fullness and get it our way. I'Ll link that below. I also have a hairstyle called the croissant bun and it is simply where I do a twist out, but it's in a banana clip, but the banana clip is facing this way and then I do like a bun type situation and then I have my bangs going Into the bun, so I guess you can call the croissant gun I kind of do it two ways. I would do it with a wash and go. The other hairstyle is where it's similar to this one. But it's where I put it up in a bun, but then I also have bangs and I kind of do like a pompadour there's one last way that I wear my hair in a banana clip and I guess you can call it a puff or just a Ponytail with a banana clip, but that's why I love my banana clip. That'S why I love my protective styles. I mean I do love the texture of my hair. I'M not saying I don't like the texture, but the shrinkage is like no joke and I don't like it being way up here because it's not like it's cut in a diva cut or any other style like that. So I just don't like the way it looks with the shrinkage. Don'T forget all of the pictures that I showed in this video you can find a tutorial for all of those lips and the description box. Okay. So if you enjoyed this video in any way, don't forget to thumbs up and until the next video you guys have an awesome blessed day, and I will see you sooner than you think cuz, like I'm literally about to record like right now again: okay,

Bunny129: Omg banana clip !!! I'm a child of the 80's so I remember the big bangs "Mohawk " with the banana clip. It's nice to see it totally modernized. I luv ur style , u always look so put together! Ur hair looks beautiful up but I would love to see it loose and natural also. Luv ur videos !!! XOXO

Un4seen Beauty: Hey girl hey! I notice you still rock the bun. Any chance we can get more hair videos and updates from you? Keep slaying

nette817: Great video. I've been natural since May '13 and my hair has grown tremendously. I too am afraid to flat iron my hair. Btw, I love your cheekbones, so stunning!!

HairZing: Great tips! Please consider using a safer banana clip :) Those flimsy plastic ones hardly wrap around thick, coily hair.

nikkib1002: This video was very helpful. Finally someone who has the same problem as me. I don't like the shrinkage I get when I do my wash n goes as well. Twist outs and braid outs never really work on my hair. It only holds a curl pattern when I do my wash n goes and where it up. I got so frustrated with my hair I cut it into an a line bob cut. And I love it. Now I straighten my hair ever 3 weeks, this video will help me with styling my hair in between visits. I'm definitely gonna check out those links. Thanks for sharing! :) Have a blessed day. :)

Tifjef069: I always love how you style your hair, its always so pretty!!! Great video and as always you look amazing!!! <3

CassieAfricanQueen: I love ny clip too!!! And it less stressful on my hair too.

jonee82: Thank you for yet another helpful video I will be purchasing a banana clip very soon...I total understand your points about shrinkage & heat damage which is why I only wear my hair in a high bun.tfs!

daydreamin: I am just starting my natural hair journey (no relaxer, just heat damage)  like right now lol I've heard banana clips are good go-to style accessories. This video is perfect. thank you!

Ta'Neisha Kemp: I'm all pumped to purchase some banana clips! As soon as this postpartum shedding stops I'm going to start wearing my hair again. All my pretty thick hair is gone and I'm almost back to my normal fine tresses

Marci Turner: I wear my hair up most of the time to protect it from getting tangled and in tight knots, from getting damaged on windy days as well as from fan and window air conditioner, and not have to worry about burning it from fire on lit cig and when parts of the fire falls from the lit cig. I rarely have my hair down throughout the day. I don't even flick ashes from the cig out the window anymore, and I won't let anybody do that when they are riding with me who smokes. They also have to use an ash tray. Ashes gets blown back in from the wind when driving. Especially on a windy day. I mainly use only claw clip all the time. But, I'm starting to put it up in a pony tail again, but I put 2 scrunchies in to hold the hair down; keep from flying all over the place. I haven't used scrunchies in a long time.

Tarletta Williams: I love this clip and they're super inexpensive. I got 4 for 2.50 in Tallahassee

cakezy8: Yes! I just bought some new banana clips last week and they are so much better than the other bands I've been using...thanks for the vid :) always so lovely

Katie J: Hi what brand banana clip do you use? I love them for my hair. Thank u☺

Thesunshine1224: Love your updo's...thanks for the vid!

uniquebreez: I have always been told ponytails sre so bad for our edges, Have you noticed your hair line changing? You are so classy, tfs.

Presh: C key made me buy it. I done went out and bought a banana clip because of you lol

Ama Clophia: I'm gona start using those again! And girl aunty Yvonne still n always rocks her banana clips okay! Lol luv ya

L. Harris: old school banana clips. I use to hate those. You gave me good ideas for my hair. I have alot of shedding due to winter and stress. I wear alot of wash and gos. Thanks

Itsjustalee: I love the Goodie banana clips but my hair is too thick and it always pops the clip so i can't wear it anymore lol

Gia Henry: I like your hair up because it shows off the bone structure in your face.  I like it because it looks good on you. I didn't know it was due to fine hair or lack of volume.

uniquebreez: I have always been told ponytails sre so bad for our edges, Have you noticed your hair line changing? You are so classy, tfs.

Divya Ravindra: Hi can i use daily banana clip to put pony tail for hairs please reply

Renee Savage: Tfs. I remember these clips

Create Your Best Version: nice easy styles.

Devinetrinity3: I would love to see you hair down...I am now on a no heat for one year thingy just to see a difference. Nice video.

Venus G.: You look beautiful in this video! I like the woman's face on your wall (I'm not sure what it's called lol). I love your hairstyle in this video & the hairstyles that you showed in the pictures.

Sho -me-247: Thanks for sharing. God bless. :)

jrlottery7: You're just lovely.  You have a wonderful spirit about you....new subbie:)

WendyLB: Where did you get that necklace I want one :-)

MissCarter78: research the "silk press".  supposed to be a way to straighten hair without losing curls.

This Is Me: CKey...you are beautiful lady. You remind me so much of my BFF ..she is from Modesto(I think I spelled it right). You guys sound alike

MurphGames: So true
