How To Put On Your Hair Topper For Thinning Hair - Crown Extensions & Hair Toppers 101 - Australia

Hi, I'm Andrew Wilson from Transitions, Hair from Transitions, Hair in Sydney, Australia, and today we have got an exciting video that is basically a 101on, a Crown Extension. Some people call them `` Toppers''. We want to give you a quick introduction as to what they are and how they can help women with thinning hair issues and going to give you some helpful tips, tricks and hacks on how to make your hair look even more fabulous with them. Andrew Sarah is part of our team here at Transitions Hair, and today we want to share with you about `` Toppers''. I really don't like the name, `` Toppers''. I prefer to call them a'' Crown Extension'', because I feel that it is way more natural to call this an extension of your own hair and it's something for the crown ( top ) area of your head. Crown Extensions. Come in various shapes and sizes, but the idea behind it is that it helps women who have thinning hair through the top region to make it look thicker and fuller, and it also makes this area here on the sides and the back look thicker and fuller.. If you can fix the top, you fix the sides. Now the one we will be using today. If you didn't know it already, Sarah is actually using one and we are going to unclip this. Now, Toppers come in all shapes and sizes.. This one is a petite one. because it is rather small in nature.. Also there is not a lot of hair in this. Now you might think there is a lot of hair in that, but it's surprisingly little actually.. You can actually see that it's transparent. You can see through it. Through the light there. There is not a lot of hair going on in there., So how do they work? You have these things called clips, and these are little clips that are designed to slide into the hair and they literally snap shut.. You can open them, shut them, open them shut them., It's really simple to do. You can do it with one hand as well., Which is what you need to do. Now, the way they work. You would literally come in here and slide it onto the hair and snap it shut.. Now I've only got one clip on there and it nicely holding onto Sarah's, hair and quite securely., But we're not going to leave it that way, as that would be ridiculous. (. Sarah chuckles ), We are going to get Sarah to show you how easy it is to put on. Sarah. Ok, very simply, we pop open the very top clip.. We grab the two sides and we do a little flip onto the hair. tuck that clip in and push it down.. I like to hold the very front and come around to the very back clip where I give a small stretch and then close the clip. And same again on the sides.. A little stretch, scoop the hair and close the clip., And just like that, all done Now. Something that people always ask us is ``. Is it secure? Are these things going to come off ?''? Sarah doesn't know that I'm going to ask her to do this, I'm going to ask her to give it a BIG shake a bit like how Beyonce would, And so you can see it's still there Now. The other nice thing for you to think about is that, when you think about these ( Toppers, ) and colours and all those sorts of things. First of all, this particular extension is just a standard colour that we have.. It'S not specifically made for Sarah. What we can actually do is customise the colour.. So if your root colour is a little bit different to the extension ( Topper ), we can just colour that and fill the roots in so that it matches really nicely for you.. Alternatively, you might like a couple of low lights put in., You can do all sorts of stuff with this.. So when you come in - and you are looking at these remember - there is a lot of versatility involved with them and you can make them extraordinarily different from what they were when you first started.. We want it to match your natural beauty as well, and what your look is: that's the job. OK. Now one little tip here is like one little hack, because you have stayed with us for all this time is when you apply the extension. What you want to do is not have it directly on that front hairline.. That is a bit of a dead giveaway.. What you want to do is a rule of thumb that we have or a'rule of finger', and that's basically, your finger width place that on your head at the front, hairline then position the extension just in behind that ( your finger ). Usually that works a treat to give you that really nice natural transition from your own hair to the extension.. It will help it blend in really well. Here's another 2nd little tip for you.. One thing that is a pet hate of mine is when people have a dead straight part the whole way through.. Don'T ever do that.. That'S my advice to you because I feel that what happens is that when it's dead straight, if there is any sense of a transition point, your eyes will pick it up.. It is way better if your part is a little over and the extension is over. The other way., And even the part of the extension, is a little uneven.. Don'T have it dead, straight. Just leave it a little messy, because the hair looks its most beautiful when it's not perfectly done, but rather that practicality about it is really what gives it its beauty. OK..
