Recreating Festival Hairstyles I Found On Instagram

Hey guys, what's up it's Tara, so today's video I'm so excited and determined for because I'm going to be recreating festival, hairstyles that I found on Instagram, I am going to snow globe next weekend for New Year's Eve. I'M so excited I'm going all three days. My little wristband is actually back there, so if any of you guys are going do let me know in the comments down below we can meet up and dance together and have a good time, but I'm so excited because I'm gon na be raving and festival e. In the snow cuz it's in Tahoe, which is like a ski resort area, basically in winter, so it's gon na be so exciting and so fun, but anyways bottom line is. I need to practice some festival. Hair looks so I've accomplished some pretty cute hairstyles at festivals. In the past, like this past Coachella, I had this really cool, like multicolored, pink, braided, hair, look and despite what you might think, I'm really not good at hair like I can braid and things like that. Basically, I'm not a professional, and so I always have to dumb it down. So I am able to do it myself, I'm constantly scrolling through Instagram and finding inspiration. I always save the posts. You know how you can save it with that little tag, so it goes into a little subcategory. So I just have this little like tumbler of inspiration on my Instagram. I'M sure all you guys do too, but anyways. So I have all these hair looks. I have three that I'm gon na try and do today. I might only be able to do I'm not sure yet I haven't done it yet, but I will tell you guys: I'm not gon na lie. I did film this video already and it was such a fail and I didn't know if I wanted to upload it as a fail or redo it, but I decided that I'm like no. I need to redo this because I know I can do it. Why is my eyebrow look like it's starting so far back on this side? Okay, sorry, it's not like super distracted, but I felt like my eyebrow is just starting way too far back. Excuse me, though I have a ponytail look and then I have long braids. So the hardest one is the long braids, so I'm gon na save that for last. So all the hair that I'm using in this I got from Aliexpress. I went insane and got so much hair. You can see on my bed right there. I have so much hair for this video because I'm Buber prepared - and I wanted lots of color options, because I have so much hair. Of course, I'm gon na give some to you guys so stay tuned at the end, forgive away if you guys want to win some of this festival hair. Let me just stop talking, I'm so determined to kill it this time cuz. My last video was really just so bad, so bad, it's fine! We don't need to talk about it. Okay, let's get into the first look. Okay, so we're going to start off simple, so this first hairstyle that I'm going to attempt is just this long ponytail. So this is a picture of M Davies if you're not following her on Instagram yeah, I'm obsessed with her, I feel like everyone's obsessed with her, but she killed it and she does some pretty cool hairstyles. But this look for me, I think, is manageable. She has a long fringe in the front. I'M not gon na do that and her is a high ponytail. I think I'm gon na do a low one, so yeah, let's just get started the hair piece that I chose for this bit is this well. When I bought this, I had all brown hair, but I think it'll still work for this hairstyle. The top part is brown and then underneath it's like neon, green and neon yellow. So it's this really long piece, just one strip of it and I'm going to use this to create the ponytail okay. So I think this should be easy enough, but I just feel like I'm gon na [ __ ] it up, so I'm going to keep a part. I just want to make it super clean. I wanted to be simple because I really think I can mess up anything, but I'm gon na focus focus I'm just gon na pull all my hair back into a low ponytail. So I'm pulling like all my blond, basically back into the ponytail, since this hairpiece is brown yeah, okay, mid, ponytail, okay, decent, probably the easiest thing I can do so. Here'S what we're gon na do so. There'S five clips in this piece of hair, which is kind of a lot I think for this, but I'm just gon na try, I might have to cut it. I do have scissors ready to go so what I'm gon na do is I'm gon na open this? First clip and I'm gon na try and hook it on to the band of this ponytail and wrap it around the base of the ponytail. So my ponytail is inside of this hair. So that's the theory. Let'S see if it works, let's wrap it around okay. So it's all wrapped around the basin. I have to hook this last piece on to it. Okay, okay! So it's it's on my head: it's not really secure! So I have this other ponytail. I mean I have this other hair tie. It'S called the hair ties honestly. Just fake it till you make it guys fake it, so you make it okay, it's on there. Okay! It'S on! I don't know how secure it is, but it's secure enough for me: I'm just gon na brush through it. It doesn't look so ratty because I can feel alone. Oh there's, my hair popping up all right cool, so it looks like this, but we're not done yet because basically, the base of this ponytail is like super exposed. It looks so ratchet. It looks terrible like I can't even see it, but I know that it doesn't look good. This whole part you don't want to be showing. So what we're gon na do is take a piece of our weed. If you will this big from like the underneath part and I'm going to wrap this around the base of the ponytail, so it's covering up like the extension hooked on to my ponytail. I need to cover this up. So I'm going to take this piece of hair from the bottom and wrap it around the base to cover up. I can't really see how it looks, but it feels like it's covered trying to cure it with a bobby pin. Wish me luck, the hair is it? Oh, my god, why do I feel, like it kind of maybe worked? I think that this might be a success. You guys first one. Can you believe it? This is already off to a better start than the first time I filmed this video. So, let's see, let's see, oh my god I did it, I mean it could be neater, but it doesn't look bad. Oh, my goodness. Okay, so also keep in mind that I am doing all this by myself and I obviously can't see the back of my head, but I think in this case not too shabby guys. Here'S what the back looks like again. I don't really know what the back looks like, but it looks decent yeah, oh my god and my hair so monic this extra. This is really cool. You guys look how long it is. Okay, look number one, I'm going to say it's success. Okay, I'm going to just say it's a success, the base of it the band, might not look perfect, but I think if I had someone back there, just like fix it up for me really quick. It would be a lot better, but I think for doing it myself and not being able to see it looks good and it's secure as look it's not gon na come off. It'S like very secure on my ponytail I'll say that like look at this okay, I probably look insane be like hello, so the next hairstyle that I'm going to try to achieve are basically these braids they're, so sick. I got all the hair for them. This is the hairstyle that gave me the hardest time. The last time I tried to film this video and I was so frustrated because I feel like I should be able to do this because just saying I'm, I'm pretty crafty, like I can figure out how to do a lot of makeup and hair things. If I like, don't typically do them, I can just figure it out I'll, like dumb it down. So I know how to do it and she has some videos posted on her Instagram and I was watching them and watching them, and I was trying to figure out how she did it. And I think what happened was is that she was actually editing out parts of how she does it, how she secures the hair and there. So I'm trying again I'm going to make it look good, I'm too, and I'm pretty sure I actually know how she did it, because I watched a few more of her videos and she showed it so if hair by Linda ever sees this, please do my hair Sometime that would be so sick, like dream, hair with Linda her sorry, it's hair with Linda so much hair. For this I have like all these different colors. They have this neon yellow. I have hot pink. I have light pink and I have this really pretty like eggshell blue color, since the last hair look that we did was green, so I think I'm gon na pick two of these, so I could do these two or these two or these two. Maybe I'll. Do three, like I said I got all of this hair from Aliexpress. I really recommend getting hair from there. You do have to order in advance because it is coming from China, so it will take a while to get to you, but it's so cheap. Like I'm talking. These hair extensions are scents like barely dollars so really affordable, and that's why I have so many colors and versions of this hair because I was like dude so cheap like I should just buy a ton anyways. To be honest, why section these out I'm gon na? Let you guys know I have been doing colored extensions in my hair for so long. Like I remember way back when when I went to my first parody. So I did these multicolored Dutch braids and I just used like clip in extensions and each one of them on my head was a different color. It was like kind of ratchet, but it was so cute. Basically, ever since then, I've been obsessed with putting color in my hair, so this is something I have been doing for a while. So this doesn't come as easy to you. It'S because I actually have been doing braids for like a really long time like even when I was on my high school volleyball team. I would always do other girls braids, and it was just something that I like made myself know how to do, but you just have to be patient, keep trying and it'll work out in the end. Ok, so what I've done? Is I've sectioned this side of my head away, so I could just focus on this side really well. What I'm gon na do is I'm gon na use. This got ta be glued or whatever it's called ya, got ta be glued and I'm gon na take the tiniest tiniest a little bit, because I get a lot of flyaways right here and we don't want that. I just need a little bit because um, I don't want my hair a little greasy since I did just wash it and holy [. __ ] you guys this stuff is so good. Three sections I'm gon na do like a gradient. So it's gon na be like this one. First, this one second and then this one third at the end, so it would be like really cool. Hopefully I have a ton of little clear hair ties. You guys, probably can't even see that now that I have my glue in my hair. What I'm gon na do is how she starts this. It takes one piece of hair up and then she wraps the colored hair around it, separates it and then starts braiding. I'M gon na start by actually taking a section of my hair, just like the front section right here, I'm going to take a little elastic and I'm actually gon na just like tie it in the front, because I need this [ __ ] to be secure. Okay, so I'm gon na take this first section of hair and wrap it around. So it's gon na cover the little elastic right here. Okay, starting it off, I feel like, might be the hardest part, because it's where I have the hardest time, so I'm gon na take oh really, actually a really small section of this hair and I'm gon na make a loop. I'M gon na make a little knot like that. Like you know those kind of loops, I'm gon na, like a figure 8 loop and then I'm going to put it like this - all that I'm so smart make it like crazy tight. So now I can see the color and pulling it so hard so that now the hair is around the base of that rubber band. So you can't see the rubber band and you can see the color starting right at the very front of your head. Okay, take a bobby pin and just seal that [ __ ] down now we're going to start braiding there's not that much hair right there, so we're gon na add more later. Okay, so, as you can see, I didn't go that far. I'M gon na add an other rubber band right here and then we're gon na add more hair. I think whenever I add hair, I'm just gon na, like hook it on with the bobby pin okay, so I just went back and I secured it again. It'S like not looking great, but at least the color has stayed up here. Quite a bit yeah, I'm gon na go like to right here, maybe and like try and add some pink or something I mean it kind of looks like her video. Oh, it kind of looks like her photos. The key is just like dumbing it down and making it look decent enough. Like we're, not professionals, we can only do our best. You know you can only do our best alrighty, so right like that. Okay, now all my natural hair is kind of starting to fly out, so I'm just going to secure it right here and keep going. Luckily, on these elastic bands are in your hair. You can't really see them. Oh my god, you guys this looks really cute. We'Re gon na go for the whole gradian vibe just put another band on it up here, like higher than where the hair starts to run out. Oh my god, I can't believe I actually did it. Oh my god. That'S crazy! So take any bobby pins out that you left in there to make the hair say so add these like little star hair rings. If you feel like you, have no color here, you can honestly take a needle and, like thread some hair around, so I'm just gon na put in some hair rings. Okay guys! I know I've only done one side, but let me just say I'm so freaking proud of myself like if you do a tempest for a festival, maybe just try and attempt it on the first day, because, if you're at all hungover I'm day 2 or 3 you're, Not gon na want to try this, to be honest, you're only gon na want to do this on the first day, but this was harder than the ponytail, and this looks better than the ponytail. Ok guys. So I am back. I finished the other side. It went a lot faster and honestly, a lot easier than the first side. I am obsessed with these braids. I really did not have faith in myself. They turned out so good, like I'm, not kidding like these look so sick, so I'm gon na get into the giveaway as promised.
