Hi everyone welcome to Bombay hair. Today'S video is all about extensions for thin and fine hair. So hair extensions are such an amazing way to add volume and length to anyone who has thin hair, and did you know that this is the number one ask question about hair extensions on Google and with me personally I have thin hair, but I have a lot Of it, so I do struggle with the same problem, because I find I get a lot of breakage, but in the last year, or so, I've really found that utilizing. These tips has really helped to minimize the damage in my hair, especially because I do wear hair extensions almost every day. So today I want to help you navigate the process on finding the perfect extensions for your fine or thin hair, and the first part of this video is going to be some tips and tricks on how to choose the right set of extensions for your hair and Then the last half of this video is going to be a tutorial and demonstration on how to clip extensions into fine and thin hair. So, first off with thin and fine hair, the biggest issues that can arise while purchasing a set of hair extensions are the following. Two things a sometimes the extensions can be way too heavy for the person's hair. What can happen is they can put too much stress on your natural hair and actually cause your hair to break, which is what we don't want to have happen, and the second biggest thing that can happen is the weft can actually show through your hair, quite prominently. So I'm going to give you some tips and tricks on what you can do to avoid these two things from happening. Now, it's totally up to you. What you want to get these are just recommendations as to what would be a really good suitable match for Center hair. So, first off the most popular thing to do at the moment is to do tape. In extension, what you do is you tape them in to your natural hair, and you can tape them up as far towards the scalp as you want. It can really help to add volume up here and length as well and the other part about patient's. That'S so great is you can put in as many tape ins as you want, or just put in a few tape ins to add a little bit of length to your thinner, hair and they're so light that they don't pull down on your natural hair. Each west of the tape ins is only about this big. It'S only about an inch wide, so you're only getting a little bit of hair pulling on your natural hair, so it won't cause damage, and this is really great too, if you're trying to grow out your hair tations are a really really good solution and the next Thing is, if you want to buy clipping. This is my suggestion for the best match for you now, if you have very, very thin hair, I highly recommend going with the 125 gram, Bombay baby hair extensions, so it's not going to pull on your natural hair and it won't break off your natural hair or Anything like that you're getting a little bit left hair in this pack, but it'll probably end up looking the most natural, instant or fine hair. Just keep in mind that if you have brittle hair, if your hair breaks easily, I would go with the lower gram set of hair extensions. Now, if you have been in fine hair and your hair can totally handle a sicker set of extensions, this is a huge tip that I have for you on how to make sure the extensions aren't going to weigh too heavy on your hair. When I received my tamanna hair extensions, these were 270 grams. So what I did I got my hairdresser to do a technique called feathering at the end of my extension, which is a technique where you remove the bulkiness in the hair extensions. If it's too heavy for your hair technique would be really great and that way when you clip in the full set of extensions, there's not a lot of weight pulling down on your thin hair. So that's another strategy that you can use, so you can get the bigger sets of extensions, but it just removes some of the weight. So next up, I'm going to do a quick tutorial on how I clip my extensions into my sinner hair. This strategy will help hide the clip, and this is also going to help relieve some of the pulling on your natural hair, so nothing breaks off. So on that note, let's get started guys. So the first thing that I recommend is using a volumizing powder. What'S so important about the volume is getting your natural hair to match the volume happening in your extension. So this is a really important part of helping out anyone with thin hair. So I'm just going to go ahead and add some volumizing powder and what I'm doing is adding it in sections. So you can just take like small sections of your hair and add the powder to it or you can just add it to the top. Whatever you're comfortable with so you see already how volumize my hair is just adding that little bit of powder look at that and what it does is it actually stays up on its own. I look crazy, but it works really really well. So next what you want to do is backcomb the top section of your hair right here. I'M going to show you where about right here. So just stick your comb in and section out that piece of hair. So what I'm going to do to backcomb is take my comb and push the hair back like this. So just go underneath this section of hair and pull it down I'll show ya. Now I'm just going to take the section just underneath and backcomb that as well. You see that so now we're adding volume back here, so it matches the hair falling down here and then I'm going to do that on the side of my head as well. Okay, now I'm going to do the other side. Now we're going to be doing more of this in a moment when we clip in the hair, extensions and I'll show you in just a second. But for now that looks good because we just want to kind of do the top of the hair first, because once the extensions are in sometimes it can be a little bit tricky to section out your hair. So I like to do this before and then I'll repeat some of the steps, as I'm clipping in the extensions. So let's start clipping in the extension. So we also have a how to clip in extensions hair tutorial on the Bombay hair channel, and we have the how to clip extensions into short hair tutorial as well, so both of those are linked down below. So you can follow along with those tutorials as well. After watching this video all right, so I'm just sectioning off hair and I'm just going to leave the bottom bit here. And the bottom part is my first section of hair that I'm going to be working with. So I'm just going to take a little bit of powder just on this bottom section of hair and then I'm going to backcomb. So now I'm going to take a two piece of hair and clip that into the bottom and I'm just going to keep doing this process. Then I'm going to pause and talk about the really important techniques to use as you're getting closer to the top of your head. So I'm just going to do the bottom bit and I'll be right back all right. So I have three rows of extensions in right. Now and what I'm going to do, I want to show you how I hide my extensions in my thinner hair I like to clip my extensions a little bit lower in my hair, so I won't clip them up here, just so that you have a good chunk Of hair up here to really hide those extensions, so I'm just going to clip these down a little bit lower. So I I know that they're going to be hidden so what's great about the back combing. Is it's actually assisting your hair with really holding in the extensions? Well so that it doesn't slip out of your thin hair? Because I find having thin hair that my extensions will sometimes slip out a little bit more easily than people that have thicker hair? And you can just see the clip will go in I'll. Show you I'll even pull on it and show you I'm pulling really hard right now and it's not moving. So that's what you want with thinner hair. You want to make sure that your back combing and using the volumizing powder, especially because that will just enhance your back combing even better, so I'm going to just go on to the other side. So you see how the hair blends and you can't see the clips and then for thin hair. This is the biggest trick. So what I like to do is take the 3 clip extensions. Remember this part that we back combed. This is where I want to put into the triple piece right here: alright, so I'm going to put this in so we are concealing the West, while adding volume and ensuring that that volume is going to stay up all day, because we have that West of hair Holding this part up, alright, so there's my volume adding that little bit of volume helps everything, look really balanced in the extension. So next I'm just going to quickly crow. My hair with my ever rose gold, clamp curling wand and that will add some volume again and it will also help blend my natural hair into my extension. So I'm just going to do that and I'll be right back alright guys. So I just curled my hair. Oh I'm so obsessed with this one. I use this wand all the time and it just gives those like beautiful little like babydoll curls. You know what I mean, so this is the next step in adding that volume to match the top of the hair that we did earlier. So what I'm going to do is take my bombay, hair brush and just brush through the ends of my hair, and this is going to blend the extensions into my natural hair and create some additional volume on the bottom without adding any weight to it. Do you know what I mean remember what I was talking about earlier and you see it looks nice and full at the bottom now and you can see that there is no clip showing up here completely clear and in the back it's all nicely covers and if You want to just bring your hair up again, just stick a comb in this little part here and just pull it up nice and gently, and that way you can add a little bit more volume if you want as well alright guys so there's the finished, look And you can see that my hair is nice and volumize on the bottom and on the top it really looks like I have the hair right now and I'd say. If I didn't know myself, I would think that this was my natural hair. I hope you guys enjoyed this video make sure to subscribe to the Bombay hair channel. Lily West: Tips for ur already thin and struggling hair: 1. Powder to make sure it's nice n dry n brittle. 2. Backcomb the roots so you can wreck your cuticles and weaken it right where you want your hair to break off. Honestly a good set or at least decent set of extensions shouldn't need you to backcomb your hair for it to stay in securely and you can reduce the bulky look by just clipping most of the wefts slightly lower on your head below the top of your ear with only one or two wefts above that on each side to add some length to the front. I find that so many extension tips to prevent hair breakage are so counterproductive and do nothing but speed up the process. If you want to add volume to your roots then a hair mousse should do the trick without drying your hair out nearly as much but backcombing is something you should NEVER do no matter what you're trying to achieve, unless what you're trying to achieve is just no hair at all.

tina: The backcombing is breaking your hair as much or more than a set of heavy extensions will. I find that leaving out a 1/2 inch section at the nape, and pin it up, then start your first weft above it, this prevents breakage at the nape where the hair is very fine/weak! Great video!!

Silver: Thin hair: meaning not a lot of it Fine hair: meaning the thickness of the strand. You don't have "thin hair but a lot of it".

Deborah 888: I’m amazed you did this all on your own. Looks really great.

Donita Robertson: best way to blend is to get the extensions "rooted" if you have dark roots, light extensions near scalp show easier. I cheated, just used a dark brown eye shadow and brushed on roots worked perfectly!

Catherine Echevarria: Big help! Thanks :) I've never had my extension slip out before though

Purple Moon: Hi Chrissy, love your video. so helpful but could please list how many clips were on each piece starting from the bottom as you didn't always mentioned this detail. Thank you!

Christy Lynn: Bookmark: @4:23 for those of us who already have the extensions :-)

Noemi Guzman: Thank you so much. Great tips

Mary G: Thank you. Great tips and help!

MissChocosugar: Beautiful woman. Nice tutorial. Don’t get me wrong. I love the video until the last few minutes. After curling your hair you suddenly had three different shades of blonde and how much of this powder do you need every day? It’s a lot. And how much time does it take to do this?

Dana Trent: Great tips! But I really dislike that volumizing powder. I feel like it damages my hair and it's so hard to wash out.

Lauren B: This is great!!! Thank you so much ❤️

Patricia Norvell: Beautiful! How would you conceal extensions if I wanted hair pulled back, maybe w/ braids or twists?

Gail Schnitzer: I found out you do need the backcombing, thank you for that tip....the clips stayed in better...your hair extensions look fantastic on you

Beth Garsea: Thank u for the tips! Great video

C J: Very pretty!

Ilse De Beer: Ok: SO can someone just answer this: After all these years of testing clip-ins and wigs, etc. At what point does your boyfriend or husband or partner fcks it up by grabbing your hair in a moment of passion and then hurtin you with the clips in your hair etc? Guess it never happens. Just wondering. Or please don't touch my hair love, as I am wearing a shit load of clip-ins?S?S?S?

Asifs Ahmed: Thank you nice explaining very kind of you God bless you xxx

gaylene lippert: When you have your hair in. Can you wash it, re use it.and are they difficult to get out?

rita lebron: Back combing is great and really all you need to do because adding powder will clog your follicles that can cause hair loss.

Aim2B TOL: What a difference!!!!

None Existent: Can I wear extensions if my hair is below my butt? I have suuuper fine and thin hair. I DON'T want to cut it short, but because it's so thin, I have almost nothing. Is extensions only for short hair or can it be for very long hair?

ame onna: Thank youuuu

Patricia Earley: Wow looks beautiful

Princess L.D.G's Kingdom: Can I space the hair extensions 2 inches apart?

Future Memory: She is damaging her hair so much!!!! Dermatologists say do not use dry hairspray or hair powder on thin hair

Sg Galaxy: i would suggest using oil to regain hair. There are lots of products to buy but i don't know how effective they are. I haven't tried any. But i do use oil in a certain way that i was told and my baby hairs have grown all over my scalp. I lost a lot of hair after some hormonal medication. Then i started the oil treatment and within 6 months i have got all the hair growing back. Its very short yet but once it all catches up with the remainder of hair i should hopefully get an even thickness and full head of hair. I was told to go and get mustard oil which was prayed on. Im not suggesting that people get it prayed on, thats just my belief but i think using mustard oil twice a day morning and evening, the way i was advised would definitely help. Its very scientific aswel. Because when we massage grease into the scalp twice a day it stimulates the blood circulation and hydrates the scalp too. Then the dead hair folicles regain growth. It definitely works. It has for me. You don't have to drench the head in oil but dip your fingertips in the oil, only take a little amount and massage all areas of the scalp in sections, especially the hair lines all around the head. If people don't want to have greasy hair being out then this should help too. As long as you are regularly applying and massaging twice a day. I work from home so i use the oil generously. After about 3 days o wash it all out and start again. I was strictly advised not to grease wet hair. So make sure once washe out the hair is completely dry before reapplying. Ive been following these steps and have definitely seen a difference. I also never blow dry. I let my hair dry naturally. People with sensitive, less and brittle hair must avoid heat damage too. It doesn't help the already thinning hair. I hope it helps someone.

Wendy Crabtree: Back comb=tease for us older folks.

Tracy Eakins: Wow sweetie if u consider your hair thin , wish mine was your thin.lol you are so lucky to have your hair..

Dana Trent: My hair is fine, but I have lots of it, like you said.

Ti Jay: Not everyone wants to look like they have a bouffant/beehive hairstyle! those of us with straight fine hair want to look like we are from 2022 not 1960! it also looks like it is matted and all that product and backcombing is terrible for the hair!

Og mom lol: Are you using human hair or what type should I use how many clips should I by

Robert Casias: But what happens in a windy day and it blows ur hair and ur extensions show then?

Lily L: Clipping hair extentions a diagonal pattern is the best way to go to not pull.on hair an break it. Back coming is not healthy for the hair

GWEN WILSON: should of added side pieces

urvashi verma: you are looking too beautiful

Family Family: Fast Fken Forward to 7:25 for clip inS

Just An Ordinary Girl: Nice

Juliusgirl: No, I haven't watched this yet because it is very confusing to me. I'm just watching it as I type. How can you wear extensions if you have fine/thin hair? Those of us with actual fine/thin hair don't have enough hair to cover the wefts or even the tape.... Oh, and you can't backcomb like 20 strands of hair to cover extensions and I do use volumizing powder but it's not too healthy for my hair and makes it tangled plus it is already frizzy... I'm at the point where you can see through my hair now to my scalp from the top, front, side, and back. I used to wear my hair up in a ponytail with little barrettes for my longer baby hair on each side of my head. Now I can put up all of my hair with one of my little baby hair barrettes. That's fine/thin hair

NINA MANLEY: Try babiest fine hair with hardly any hair

Awesome GG: Thank u

Sg Galaxy: I would upload photos but can't send them here.

Yanqin Wu: back combing do no good for ur hair

09anutka: long and board

Ali Pam: Review Clip In Hair Extensions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsDGTB4zyp0

KandiLash: Need to curl top of hair not just bottom to blend. It’s a dead giveaway

Anjali Nene: Brown and straight pr pl

beautydiva110: omg she looks like Jlaw

Angela Wheller: your hair is not thin

Switchblade romance: The extensions look cheap

Jacquelyn Fontaine: I have no hair lol halp

Olga Mehr: You don't have hair lady

S. D.: This Chick has no idea what she’s talking about tapings are the worst for thin hair it’s putting glue in your hair it’s terrible and she has no idea what she’s talking about.
