My Hair Loss Story | STOP doing this OR it will happen to YOU | Traction Alopecia

Traction alopecia is a form of hair loss in women caused by constant pressure being put on the hair follicle. *My Hair Loss Story | There's more than I told you: https://youtu.be/8Br4vCi-dKs

This can be unbelievably traumatic to experience and also to accept. What you didn't know is that it could be happening gradually, right in front of your eyes, because of something you are doing without you even noticing it.

You could get traction alopecia from clip in extensions, traction alopecia from wigs, traction alopecia from braids and/or traction alopecia from ponytails. There are SO many reasons why alopecia in women happen but almost no one gets down and dirty to talk about it.

This is my story.

Today i want to talk to you about something that i did to myself, that made this happen to me that i often see my clients doing that's making it happen to them, and i want to tell you about it so that you don't go down the road Where it becomes too late to fix, what's going on, my name is gaby, and this is glam girl gabby. This is a place that you come to learn, beauty and fashion tips. If you are into this type of content, then hit that subscribe button below come hang out with me every week. Let'S be friends, let's go back in time and talk about what happened and and why this happened to me. What this is this, this is a condition called traction. Alopecia traction alopecia is a form of alopecia or gradual hair loss caused primarily by pulling forth being applied to the hair problem number one. When i was in my 20s, i used to love wearing my hair in very, very, very tight ponytails. I loved the way that it pulled my face back. I love the way that it made my eyes more almond. I love the way that it opened up. My face to doing like really winged eyeliner looks, and i loved it so much that i did it almost every single day i wore my hair in a super tight, ponytail or bun every single day. Problem number two extensions. I also in my 20s was an extension [ __ ]. I loved extensions. I loved all extensions. I did nano links micro links, i did weaves, i did tape, i did everything, but i didn't do them once in a while and space them out. I did them over and over and over and over and over again and what ends up happening when you put that much weight on your hair follicle and you keep repeatedly doing it, your hair follicle ends up dying. That'S what happened to me and that's also. What could be happening to you? I see it in my clients all the time they tell me that they feel like parts of their hair is thinning, but then they tell me i wear my hair like this every single day, so i need you to be able to cut it in a way That it works for that and and red flags always go off in my mind, because that's what i did i wore my hair like this super tight and up because i loved the way it snatched my face every single day for years and years and years and Years and this ended up happening, you would think that after doing this, for a long time and starting to realize my hair thinning and starting to realize that the follicles were coming out of the hair bud that i would have stopped. But the crazy thing is that when it's happening gradually, you don't fully notice it and we're creatures of habit. So if we're used to wearing our hair in that exact way, we continue to do it forever and ever and ever, and we almost don't notice it until it becomes too late after several years of this happening and it getting super bad and it was to the Point where, whenever i would go to the hairdressers, and they would wash my hair when my hair is wet, is when you can really see it, the hairdressers would say like what's going on there. You know you're really sitting in that zone and like what are you doing that? Maybe that is creating that. So, when other people started to notice is when i started to think okay, i need to take a step back. I need to take a step back from wearing my hair super tight. I need to take a step back from all of these extensions and i should go to the dermatologist. So what happened at the dermatologist? He took a look at it with a microscope and he said the damage is too far gone. If you catch it in time, you can get steroid shots in your scalp that will regrow the hair. But at this point i don't even have follicles to regrow. There is nothing that can be done to fix it. Absolutely nothing can be done to fix it, so it's something that i just have to live with and it sucks. So why am i even making this video i'm making this video? Because i see this happening a lot in my clients, i see people going and getting extensions done from people that don't necessarily have the experience that they should to do them. If you have really fine hair you're more prone to have this happen to you. So if this has already happened to you - and you know the struggles all too well - i'm going to teach you how to cover it up right now. What i used to do is i used to grab a matte dark brown powder if you are blonde in your case, you'd have to find a matte topi powder and i would put it on a really densely packed makeup brush and i would buff it into that Zone that was working pretty well for me for a while, but recently i got contacted by a company. It was almost serendipitous, because this is something that i really struggle with. So the fact that this company contacted me was funny - and they contacted me to make a little one minute - um instagram ad for them, so this company is called glam touche, just put it out there, i'm not making money for this video, i'm not promoting them. Just to get paid for this video, this isn't a sponsored video. Okay, just want to let my audience know that, first and foremost, because i'm really really honest with you guys, the cool thing about this product is how it's packaged. I really love that it's like a tiny little round packaging at the top of it is where you get your powder, along with a cute little mirror, which is really handy. If you're like on the go or on the run and at the bottom, you can screw it off and you get this little sponge. So this is nice because it's really densely packed, which is gon na input, pigment really really well. The way that this was marketed was actually as a root touch-up product, so you just go ahead. If you have gray roots or like say, i was blonde and i had dark hair and i had blonde roots. You just want to use that powder with this puff and you kind of draw along the roots and it blurs it out. There'S lots of products like these on the market, so they're really really handy. You know. If you have a rooted situation, i don't have any roots, i don't have gray hair. Yet thank god, although it's coming at 34, it's coming, but i do have this issue with alopecia, so i asked the company. Would this cover alopecia and they wrote back and said absolutely. This is great for thickening up thinning, hairlines and updos. So for all of my brides out there, where i see a little bit of thinning, i can touch up those areas, so they don't show up as much in photos. So this is how we're gon na do it. What i like to do is i like to section off my hair: hold it in a clip, grab that little sponge dip it right in and fill in that hairline. So, as you guys could see, this product really allows me the freedom to wear my hair up without anyone noticing that my alopecia is as bad as it is. If you guys are interested in this either for root touch-up reasons or for alopecia coverage, then i will leave a link in the description box below and you can go get it again. This is not an affiliate link. I make no money off the sale or purchase of this product. Thank you so much for watching. I hope that you learned something new i'll see you next week, bye

Katie J: Being in the military and having to wear a bun every day has caused this for me. Thank you for letting other people know about this!

Irish Marie: Girl. This video popped into my feed today. I took it as a sign. I’ve noticed my hairline getting thinner around the crown and sides for the past couple of years. I don’t wear very tight ponytails, however, I do put my hair up every night at bedtime into a loose bun and have been doing that almost every day during the pandemic. I need to stop this. So I asked my daughter to cut my long hair into a bob. We watched one of your blunt bob videos today and followed your steps. My daughter did a great job! No more putting my hair up anymore. I need to save what I’ve got! I’m now a new subscriber. Thanks, girl!!

Amanda Kalbfleisch: Thank you for being so raw and vulnerable about this! It's going to provide comfort to so many ❤️ You said that the follicle was coming out with the hair bud - could you see that? Sometimes I have hair that falls out with a little white bulb on the end and I wonder if that's a bad sign!

NotYohan: Sadly this happened to me. Ever since I was young, I would wear my ponytails really tightly. I never noticed a problem, until I started wearing side ponytails tightly. Since I had been wearing tight ponytails for (all my life, really.) I quickly started to notice that I was having a lot of hair loss at the side of my head. At this point it was too late. Because I was so scared of losing my hair, I let my hair down everyday from that day on. ...Thats my story.

Ema Suvajac: Oh wow! Thanks for sharing Gabi! I've gone through three rounds of hormonal hair loss over the last few years and though it's not the same thing as permanent loss, it was been a journey in of itself! Glad you found a product that works for you. I suppose the only medical solution at this point would technically be a hair transplant??

KevinAbby Robbins: My hair was mysteriously thinning a little over a year ago, even my eyebrows. I started changing my hair products to more natural ingredients, but I did a lot of research and finally tried Castor seed oil. This really helped creat new hair growth. I'm really sorry that you experienced so much hair thinning through your preferred hair style. It might be worth a try using the oil just to see if it works for you. It might even make a great YouTube video if you tried it for maybe a month and posted pictures. I'm actually very curious how other people's scalp or hair respond to this oil. Thank you for your video beauty tip.

Elizabeth Sampson: This is an eye opener. Thank you for doing this video!

Joyce Zhong: Omg! I thought I was the only one who HATED my hair down! I wore a ponytail *every* single day for 5 years during my school years because I hated my cowlick and flat hair and had no other way to hide it. I literally had to start changing my parting and putting my hair down because I noticed a balding spot around my hairline and I wasn’t even at the age where i could legally drink yet! Lesson learned P.S.: the balding patch on my hairline is still there. It never grew back, but didn’t get worse either since I started to wear my hair down a lot more. That traction a alopecia is REAL

Louisa Nossell: Hi Gabi, thank you for sharing your story. I had a hair transplant Nov 1, and it was traumatic- your videos were the only thing that gave me some comfort. I just watched your video on hair dye. How long do you recommend I should wait before coloring…???

may: I've been feeling insecure lately about my hairline bc I finally accepted that it is receeding. I kept on telling to myself that it isn't since my hairline has always looked that way but when I see old pics of myself with my hair up compare to now, my scalp around my hairline is so much more visible nowadays. I never liked ponytails but I had to wear it up for 13 years due to school rules. Also, my hair's frizzy so I had to put hair gel, comb it until it's smooth and use hair pins to make it neat. I wish I didn't do all of that before. I wish someone warned me then. I know there are worse out there but I just hope that it isn't too late for me to fix this.

Dora Dora: You are so strong for posting this video ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Carol Bierman: I noticed this happening to me over the past year and thought what have I been doing differently to lose the hair above my ears. A ball cap! I have been pulling my hair up in a ball cap for over a year now and I'm pretty sure this has been one factor to my hair loss. In addition to that, the constant wear of rubber silicone coated sun glasses.

It’s me, Arianna: When I was in the 4th-6th grade, I used to wear very tight high ponytails EVERYDAY. Keep in mind that I have stick straight hair, making my hair naturally a little thin, not very, but a little. Halfway through 6th grade, I realised what was happening to my hair. It started to get thinner, and that was when I realised I needed to do something about it. First things first, I stopped combing my hair when it was wet. Then, I got it cut short to the point where it was halfway down my neck. I took great care of it, I tried to incorporate proteins and vitamins into my diet and started to massage my hair every night for 10 minutes. I put oils in my hair overnight and washed it the next day ONCE A WEEK. After half a year or so, when my hair grew a bit, I realised that my hair had gotten thicker and my ‘bald spots’ got covered up. Nowadays, 2 years later, I seldom tie my hair up, even if I do, I tie it loosely. I tie my hair in a loose braid and loose low ponytails.

Ms Chrome: I try to change my hairstyle everyday and wear it natural for this very reason! I also had baldness but I started to take iodine and use black seed oil, which have helped my hair to grow back A LOT. Maybe these tips could also help someone else in need. Nevertheless, thank you for sharing your story with us. <3

Sarah A: Firstly, thank you so much for sharing this video! I only started putting my hair up like that for a year and started seeing the same pattern of hair loss. I know you mentioned your follicles are too far damaged, but I felt compelled to share this with you too because you've helped so many. I highly recommend Dr Joe Dispenza's book Breaking the habit of being yourself and his meditations, I understand some things are scientifically proven and as you said it is damaged. However our bodies are amazing and work with what our subconscious believes. 'Positive affirmations' aren't enough, it's with elevated emotions and pretending (eg) your hair grew back as if the experience already happened. Your mind doesn't know the difference between reality or thought. I hope this helps and you'll give this a try, I know it sounds a bit airy fairy but there are a lot of studies on this and many people reversed hard health conditions because of this. Thank you so much again for this video. xx

Jasbir Grewal: No girl, you don’t have to live with it. I had a bald spot on top of my head from a childhood injury. I recently started putting a homemade amla oil and I started massaging with castor oil and cinnamon on that spot and my hair follicles started to grow. Try it and see for yourself.

Natasha Aveda: Thank you for posting this and being real about the realities of hair loss For years, I was using wigs and weaves as a crutch cause I didn’t want to deal with my naturally curly hair and got use to the ease of weaves. I’ve decided to embrace my natural hair as a mixed Black Woman. Thank you so much for sharing the reality of the dark side of extensions ♥️

Daron Assadourian: Hey Gabi , thank you for sharing this! I am a guy suffering from traction alopecia as well but mine is pretty much lighter all around my scalp rather than a bald patch probably because i grew out my hair so long and was unhealthy about it. My hair follicles are also thinner than they were before so I’ve been working on being healthier and not tying my hair in a bun. I wanted to ask if there are ways to thicken existing thin follicles that you know of? Thank you , have a great day

Rose Smith: Oh man. I thought I was the only one. Didn't know this was a condition. I loved the sleek, pulled-back ponytail since way before it was even trendy, back when I was in elementary school and it was the only style that suited me. Gave me an instant eye and brow lift. As I got older, I started pulling back all my hair in an extremely tight top knot since I started getting insecure about my hair, doing even worse than what you did. It sometimes even gave me headaches and now I look back and wonder why I made myself go through that. This was not only affecting my scalp, but it was also making my ends straw-like. I kept ignoring what it did to my hairline and now it resembles a bald man's.. I stopped this altogether when a hairstylist I recently went to pointed out how destructive this habit really was, and that we should just let our hair BREATHE. Thank you for sharing your story. ❤

Cici Castresana: Hi Gabi! I absolutely love your channel. I suffer from Androgenetic Alopecia since I was 14 years old. I actually have started a space sharing my experience and offering support for women who are suffering from the same problem... I feel there is not enough support out there for us. I would love it if you can have a look at it and let me know what you think? Thank you so much for all your awesome videos and for speaking out! Cici

Aya Lachgar: Thank you so much for this video and for the informations you shared with us ❤ I wore my hair in a tight ponytail years a go and I can say that it did affect my hair line, now I split my hair in two to cover the sides. I saw some videos about onion juice that I am willing to try, they said it's great for hair growth

Katrina d: thanks for sharing! I've never had extensions, but I hear you regarding the pulled back hair (cue Jlo sleek pony/bun/top knot vibe). I did this a lot in early 2000's and beyond too. I still do this to my hair often because it's easy and fast, although I shouldn't! My hair is so fine and it breaks easily.

Stefanie Peters: Wow! this is my exact story thank you so much for sharing. I've done the big chop now to try and fix it but your video is so encouraging as I too have learnt to accept it

Mia Michaels: While I don't have this issue with my hair I wanted to say kudos to you for sharing your story.

Insha: I do nothing damaging to my hair and it falls like there's no tomorrow. I have a receeding hairline, I need to visit the docs. The way you're holding your hair up in the thumbnail makes you look edgy, I'm digging that look

Mai Anh Le: Very straightforward, right to the point! Thanks for the info!

Sonia L.: Hi Gabi! I just found your channel, thank u for the very informative content! Question for u: Would getting Brazilian Blowouts and/ or Keratin treatments back to back cause hair loss? If not, can u please let me know what is the risk to getting these treatments done back to back? Thank u so much in advance! Sonia

joselyne Cortez: This was happening to me as well when I was using too much of hair extensions.. until I started to itch on a particular spot on my scalp and it was a itch burning and when I saw it was a bold spot !! I stopped using the extensions ASAP .. applied aloe vera gel and it started to grow back !!! now my hair is thickening thanks to natural aloe Vera !!

Beverly Rindel: Thanks so much for sharing your story. This happened to me years ago by wearing tight ponytails over the years. Wished I had realised it sooner. No more ponytails for me.

Louie M.: You’re very brave for showing us. Thank you, not doing the tight ponytail anymore!! X

MATTDOMINANCE: I was aware of this condition but I have never thought this could be so common among women. Thanks for sharing!

jesse curlgoddess: That tight ponytail does look bomb as hell on her though

Tracie Warren: Thank you for sharing such a personal experience and your journey. We all know hair is a big deal to us and how it has a huge influence on how we feel about ourselves. I’m happy you found something that works to give you the freedom to wear your hair in a variety of ways

Lisa Monique Beauty: Thanks for sharing your story! My sister has traditional alopecia. It's been hard and it's important to get the story out on ways to prevent.

Regan Hulvey: I’m only 24 & this is slowly happening to me. So glad I found this video!!!

Lisa Potter: This is a very important video. I had the same problem all of sudden. My hair dresser didn’t even tell me after a haircut. I freaked out when I discovered one day.. I never had extensions, but I do wear it in pony tails all the time. The dermatologist told me that I have the genetic predisposition. I think stress could trigger it.

Julie Serrano: I just add your site to my favorites. It takes a strong woman to express the outline issues young woman deal with. I appreciate all your tips. GABBY YOU ROCK,,❤

Empressah: I’m sure this is all down to using extensions. Everyone I’ve known to have balding spots is from that. And I’ve put my hair in high tight pony’s and buns since a small child, for forty years, with just strong long healthy hair, and I’ve never once put in an extension.

Glam Girl Gabi: FOLLOW UP VIDEO: The TRUTH about my Traction Alopecia | There is More Than I Told You: https://youtu.be/8Br4vCi-dKs Hey guys! After this video gained so much traction, I started feeling pretty overwhelmed reading all of these incredible comments from women experiencing these things all over the world and also women feeling worried about their hairlines too. I knew deep down that there was more to the story than what I initially told you. I made a follow up video to expose my truth. Thanks for watching. I appreciate all of your support.

milk bread: thank you for being so brave and posting this. <3

Patricia Zernone-Wood: I'm so glad I came across your video. I noticed this happening to me about 3 months ago. I felt almost all my self worth fly out off my body that night. It took me removing my 20 years of hair color to discover it. I'm a natural blonde and have thinner hair normally but this is literal bald spots. One on the right around the hair line area above the ear and the other was exactly where was ponytail and buns were positioned near the top/back of my head. For 10 years I had the same bun style for my ponytail pieces and wigs or just having my original ponytail, and never ever did i consider this happening or notice it. I'm fond of color and now I'm afraid i can't color anymore either. I'm trying to research this as much as possible but there really isn't much info about treatment for white women with this problem.

Season Fredrickson: I looked up fine/thin hair this morning and found your channel. What a beautiful, amazing and sharing person you are. I am getting so much good information and new ideas. You have totally proven that you don't have to have Farrah Fawcett hair to be gorgeous. One positive thing about having thin/fine hair is that it dries so quickly.

Rebecca Jackson: Top tip everyone - You CAN grow it back!!!! I have been growing mine back. Stay positive!! It comes back slowly IF you treat it with care!!! This may sound abit “out there” BUT I practice reiki and energy healing and I focus in that area. I also meditate on that area “experiencing it growing” in my mind until it feels real. I meditate daily and have great health. You CAN communicate with your body and achieve wonders... but it will take some effort!!! Don’t loose hope x

Aman Alagh: Thank you for the real video that you posted. Its so brave and tells how gem of a person you are ... because most of people face this but rather try to cover it up.. going to let my hair loose .. thanks for the info. You got a new subscriber.. ❤ lots of love

BlowItOutYourCunt: Ugh, my poor mum has the same issue from pulling her hair back for decades.

Pooja Kumaravel: Thank you so much for telling this, while watching this video I just realised that because of my high pony my hair has been thinning and I didnt notice. I'm really glad you posted this.

North Point Tarot: Hey guys, this is exactly what happened to me, i love buns and pony that are tight, over the years my hairline started receding. But im repairing it using garlic which has helped tremendously, with rice water aswell. Also, im trying to leave my hair more open and less tied up. It's been about two months and I've noticed the regrowth trying these two things out, it does take time though but its possible to regrow the hair.

William Charles: Congrats, on being open regarding hair loss, that's a touchy subject for women. My hair was thinning I would bleach it out it would look fuller, after years of doing it, it made the problem worse. So I had my brittany spears moment, and shaved my head, thinking I look cool like a singer in hardcore band, nope, i looked like a dick with ears, lol! So I made the decision to start wearing a hair system. So I understand the mindset of losing your hair

veronica Ave: This happened to me years of pulling my hair back too tight and I think I’m fucked now I’ve tried everything. I’m trying to wear my hair curly and down and natural

Ahmet Harun Çiftçi: As a 23yo-male who has been growing his hair for 2 years, i noticed that my scalp hurts when i bind my hair too tightly. For this reason i can lose my hair. I asked many women. No one told anything. No one knows anything about tractionel alopecia. Whereupon I started to observe people's hair lines. I saw that men have a "M" shaped hair line because of androgenic alopecia naturally. And i saw that women have ragged hair lines. Most of women don't realize that their foreheads are being opened. Even so they think this is a variant. So I decided to give up the ponytails however even so i was uncomfortable with my unbinded hair because the hair that are in temporal area and close my forehead kept sagging to front of my face while I was working. It was annoying. I am still using hair clips(or instead, i wear bonnet) but I bind my hair loosely and I don't bind the hair that are close to my neck and close to my forehead together anymore.

Noble Strength: Thank you for sharing your story. I am noticing this on my side hairline, same as yours. I appreciate your truthfulness.

Mandy Trout: Wow! I just found you today and subscribed! I think its great your warning people about this. I'd like to try it for an area that has thinned along my hairline and girl how do you not have hundreds of thousands of sub's? Its coming. Your great!!!

Serena S: Thank you for your courage. This is so needed by so many women; I’m getting off the extensions addiction before this happens, and it’s difficult. My sister is a dermatologist and she’s been vivid with her predictions if I don’t stop. I’m so happy I did.

Brittany Clow: Wow so crazy!!! Now you definitely made my mind up for not ever getting extensions

Kristinne G: Thank you for your honesty. Really appreciated ❤️

Eisa_yt: This is so true. You don’t fully notice it. I used to wear a super tight pony in high school and I’d wear it on the left side so the top right part of my head has sort of a bald stuff :/

Mj Clayton: Noticed my hair thinning in exactly the same area as you. I have been using apple cider vinegar and water mix as a rinse and it has already started to thicken my strands after a few weeks. I'm not sure if it would work on overly balding patches but for anyone who is noticing thinning I defo recommend it. But I'm defo trying this in the meantime ...Ur still stunning girl

Wakeshimutanemahazunakunamatittenopan: When my mom always did my hair, she made a tight ponytail till it began to hurt. Since I make my own hair, I do rarely ponytails...

MauraTV: Yes. Girl let be friends! Thank you for posting this. People need to know about this. Love your videos.

Shelby Delery: Thank you so much for showing me this product! I just have this spot in the back of my head and it’s getting better but I feel that product will allow me to wear my hair down more which I need to do to prevent it from thinning more!

Nari Elh: You seem like a very lovely beautiful lady ! Im sorry that this happened to you , thank you so much for sharing your story it really was helpful. All the love to you .

Emily Rogozzino: Love how open you are about this! Have you maybe tried to just do a side/ undercut? That would look good on you

Myriam: I’m here because I noticed that the front of my hairline keeps getting thinner and I realize that it’s because I love to wear my hair up in tight high ponytails. I think I’m at the point where it’s still reversible but I’m still a little worried because I have very heavy hair even when it’s down.. but either way I’m done putting my hair up !

Amy Sillito: So I have a lot of hair missing in the same area, how do you stop playing with the little hairs that keep touching the ears? I feel like I'm making it worse because the feeling of little hairs drives me bonkers so I'm either always pining them back or making little pony tails at night to prevent me from touching that area.

alwaysHELLAfresh: WOW just discovered you and subscribed!! I’m in my 20s now but have your exact same hair type so this is definitely making me think twice about everything <3 you are beautiful for real though

Natasza K: Thank you! I love my face in a super tight ponytail only. Nothing else. I been wearing it like that for 15 years and have delicate Slavic hair so u can imagine I’ve noticed the same thinning !! I’m heartbroken but gonna stop wearing it starting today.

Caramelo Bear: GOD BLESS YOU! Thank you for showing us this, my hair has started to drop off, I also pull my hair very tight in the front. Will STOP this immediately. This probably is the cause. ✨❣️

horriblekitty13: I seldom put my hair up because it gives me headaches. I guess that's a good thing now

Angie Ayala: I instantly got up to loosen my daughter's hair bun.

The Mofley Crew: Oh my goodness, I’ve totally considered extensions lately because my hair is thinning a little since I stopped having kids. Now I’m convinced I need to try the natural shampoo my friend keeps pitching me that helps with hair health!

Rebecca Jackson: I’m 34. Have always enjoyed a tight ponytail as I like the way it looks and feels. About 3/4 years ago I noticed on my right side I started to have traction alopecia!!! I had no idea what was happening so did lots Of research. Good news.... it’s got better and has grown back a little... BUT.... I love my ponytail so much!!! I want to keep it Big tip while it’s growing back.. you can use eyeshadow to fill in the gaps xxxx

Cute Puppy: Thank you for your sharing, it means a lot to us who don’t know that such things will happen to us if we tie our hair super tight all the time

Hannah Mayo: Kudos to you for sharing your story and helping people who might have the same issue. Gray hair is beautiful too...no reason to fear it or shame it.

Mayosha Dulakshi: You deserve more love girl... you’re too honest to share these with public(which, other so called professionals not sharing) God bless you always. ❤️

Kimberlee Duff-Harris: I done the same I'd suffer with my hair being so tight my forehead muscles shown through my forehead and I ended up looking strange. I also used to get migraines, I pulled out my hair line in different ways also was full of baby hairs. The hair remaining was broken at baby hairs length. Very gappy hair at my hair line and the bobble also done the same to where it was placed. I only wore exstemly high boobled pony tails and buns!

Hello beauties: Hey just came across this video. A family member of mine had this and she used a shampoo from mexico. She used it on her everytime she washed her hair and also during the day she would put on dry scalp on the areas needed. It worked on her and many others wouldn't hurt to try. You can find the shampoo only in mexican markets or pharmacy. Shampoo is called Bergamota. Just sharing what i know might help someone or not but it helped my family member.

Nidhi Shukla: I don't think I ever came through any video creater who was so honest like you. You are amazing. Keep up the honesty with positivity. Lots of love ❤️

cissy epifany: I don't have any of these problems, but I feel sad for the ones who do and I also think it is SUPER SWEET of you for making this video and helping people with it so thank you for being a beautiful person inside and out <3

Beachy Keen: I bought that item before watching this and it is excellent -- easy to apply and it stays where it's applied. CVS carries it.

MyTrueColors: I wore braids and space buns and even backwards hats for like the past 3 years and i just noticed mine has been thinning really bad about a month or 2 ago. Not enough for anyone to really see, but its enough to make me fearful of getting certain haircuts ive waited my whole life for (double side shave, undercut, etc) just because of how thin the top is. I've tried coconut oil treatments, expensive conditioners, aloe vera, and just about everything i could. I've gotten lucky and restored some things back like my widows peak and areas around my temples, although there are parts where my follicles have trouble growing back like on the sides above my ears where Gabi has hers (mine seem to be small circular patches although its too long to move out of the way to tell). PLEASE listen to Gabi on this one. Idk what id do if i let it go on any longer. Videos like these are finally making me realize its not important to look "good" if the long term effects hurt your body. Being happy, healthy, and natural is what truly looks good. Y'all are beautiful and if you read this far into my lil rant, i wanna thank you and send you a virtual hug <3

lgamble: There’s nothing wrong with grey hair! ❤️

Tumyir Noshi: Shit! it's happening with me too, as a Nursing student I always wear tight topknot, now my hairline is receding and thinning also ☹️

Super Shepherd: I cut my hair short for the soul fact that when it was long I couldn't stand having it loose and always had it in a tight ponytail. My hair is much healthier and more manageable now.

Norma Martinez: You are the first person that has the exact same problem as me that I’ve seen in YouTube I wish I knew this like 10 yrs ago

Moon Shukla: It's so sweet that you making a video to make ppl aware (even if you are earning outta it)

Lulu Locks: I used to wear my hair pulled back soaking wet in a high pony tail and very long plait as my hair has down my back for over 20 yrs and slept with it like that never had a problem my hair was so healthy long and thick, i think hair extensions would definately be more of an issue of hair loss although i have never had them.

Maria Pineda: I had the same problem my hair grew back by applying monistat 7 yes the cream for yeast infection I applied it on my bald spots and washed my hair every other day and reapplied monistat Cream yes it took like 3 months to see little hair but my hair finally grew back!

Nikki D: I did this to myself. The traction part. High ponytails daily in high school. I wish I had someone tell me back then not to do this.

:/: So I recently got traction alopecia on the top of my head towards the back, I got a bald spot and it’s not too noticeable but noticeable if it’s pointed out. Anyway, it’s been a real struggle because I’m too scared to put my hair up at all anymore and for some stupid reason it’s stopped me from doing any physical activity because my hair gets in the way and I don’t want to put it up...any advice? It’s been rough trying to know what to do

tania gonzalez: I have it too from ponytails in elementary school. I continued to snatch my hair until college. I stopped in my twenties and I wear my hair down most of the time. But now I get split ends from the heat tools. So I rather cutting it than being bald. I use different shades of brown and black eyeshadows to cover my hair line and some times y draw hairs with liquid eyeliner something like the steps you follow to draw eyebrows. Y sometimes also use mascara to thicken up the remaining hairs. It works, it’s not that noticeable but I always worry people will find out. That I get too sweaty or something that I might get drippy. Stop doing it!!!! and don’t do it to your little girls.

Shairose Haji: Have experienced a similar problem with traction alopecia. I began losing hair too. However, I oil my hair regularly and take silica, zinc and Collagen supplements. I suffer from hypothyroidism so hair loss and hair thinning is inevitable. My hair doesn't fall as much now. Was wondering if I should book an appointment with a Tricologist. All my blood work values for deficiencies are negative.

Angie Lorenzo: I have traction alopecia on both sides. Im very self conscious about it. There is no going back for me. I wore my hair pulled back very tight throughout high school and then I joined the Marines and same thing. My follicles are beyond dead. My scalp is shiny in those areas. I try to fill it in with brow powder. Whatever works, right?

GenerationYUI: Your way of explaining is very nice and well spoken. Thanks for the video

Mayra Alejandra: so sorry, this happened to you using extensions. When i was younger i tried almost ALL hair extensions, the worst were the sewn-ins. I also bleached my hair, burnt it to the point of damage. After my experiences I promised my Mom i would never, ever do such things again to myself. Because it does affect the natural growing cycle of the hair. Thank God, nowadays, i don't put any dyes anymore.

Sheryl Heath: Thank you so much for sharing. I can totally relate. ❤

KaJ uN: Oh my goodness, tysmfs! I wear a snug, high pony every single day, at least part of the day. I will absolutely change this habit ASAP. Would a loose pony be better or possibly cause this, too? SUBSCRIBED

Red Flamingo: One thing that is very useful is a mix of olive and coconut oil to thicken you hair , my hair got thicker in almost two months. I remember putting my hair in a tight bun and it was so damages, I cut a lot of my long hair and once I started to care abt my hair , it got thicker , healthier and my hairline was much better

Whitney LC: Thank for sharing! I have a different kind of hair loss at the crown of my head, this would be perfect!

Dollface: you are so so so amazing for posting this. same thing happened to me

Danielle Leonard: Wow I'm sorry you have to go through that and this has helped me realize that maybe that's why my hair in spots is falling out and I just started shaving the bottom half of my head to hide it
