Hey girls, i hope you're. Well, i'm going to be speaking to you today about how to prevent traction alopecia when wearing a hair, topper and just my personal tips about the whole subject and the topic. So when you're purchasing a hair, topper people do get a bit worried about the clips causing more breakage and hair loss. So obviously, if you're experiencing hair loss or if you have thin hair, you find a solution like hair, toppers and obviously like that's amazing. But you don't want it to be causing more issue to your existing hair. So here are my little tips that i like to use and also advise others when just to be mindful of when you're wearing a topper. So the first thing to think about is the base size of the topper. So people think that so i just can take it off. People think that when they're buying a topper, especially their first chopper, they should go for a small base, because it's a good starting point. Now i tend to disagree with that because, depending on your needs, like your hair needs, and things like that, sometimes a small base isn't always going to work for you, even though it is your first topper. So the thing to be mindful of like, for example, if you go for a five by five base, just be aware that visually the top is going to look exactly the same when it's on your head, because the silk bit here, the four. This is four by four, so five by five is just the weft. There is just going to be around the parameter of the silk, so the front of the topper is going to look pretty much identical. This is a seven by seven piece, um yeah. So when you've put it on your head, it's going to look exactly the same as like a seven by seven or even an eight by eight piece. For example, the two by five pieces that some people tend to want to purchase is really only to cover that part line of your hair and just be mindful that if you do go for a small base like a two by five or a five by five. Just be mindful, if you do have hair loss um up here on the crown of your head, if the wind blows - or you know, depending on your head shape, depending on your level of hair loss, the last clip is normally about there. So the topper tends to split, and then it can expose your scalp. So just be aware of that with the smaller pieces, i do prefer the larger ones i did start with small ones, but the thing is that it's clipping into really sensitive areas of my scalp. So if you are someone who has female pad and hair loss or anything like that, typically, that's this area around here is where it's the most sensitive. So the last thing you want to be doing is clipping in to your most sensitive areas, because this is the fragile hair and it's more prone to breakage. So this is why i firstly to prevent traction alopecia. I recommend that you go for a bigger base size. So it is not clipping into that sensitive top area of your head. So that's my first, my first tip my second tip is to rotate which clips you use, especially if you're wearing your topper every day. You don't want to be using every single clip like you. Don'T want to be using the same clips every day if you can prevent it. So, for example, i do wear my topper every day, so, if i'm wearing it on a monday, for instance, i'll clip the front one and then i'll do one at the back, which gives like a good level of hold on the hair. For me, i just find that i can wear two to three clips and it doesn't cause me any issues throughout the day. So that's what i would do on one day the next day when i wear the piece i'll put this clip in and this one in the next day. I'Ll do that one and that one so you're dispersing um like where you're putting some pressure on on the scalp. The clips that i've also managed to source are super gentle like in comparison to ones. I'Ve seen i love the clips that i use because, honestly, i don't really feel them on my head at all, and i've got quite a sensitive scalp, so just be mindful as well just make sure when you do buy a topper that the clips are not really Difficult to open, and if they are, i would source some different clips and sew them in because you don't want to be risking um like a stiff, a clip damaging your hair, so just be mindful of that. So first things to think about the base size. Second, is to rotate the clips that you use um. The third thing you can think about is using like a texture powder or a dry shampoo, so you can either spray the texture like or powder put the texture powder on the clip or you can put it on the part of the hair, where you're going to Be clipping it in it just creates more grit in your hair and it it's a little bit more sturdy for the clip to sit onto the onto the hair. So that's another option and then also when you're clipping in the topper into your hair. You don't want to be like digging the clip into your bio hair. You want to just really lightly clip it into your hair and then just like give it a little bit of like leeway so you're not like keeping it super tight to the to the scalp, and that also just prevents it from breakage, because, if you're, really digging In then, that hair is being pulled throughout the day, so just really gently and lightly clip your topper in another thing that i do sometimes is: i blend my bio hair and the top of hair together. So if i don't want to use many clips, this is another option because it keeps the topper stable and then you can bobby pin that in, and it also gives you a different little style to wear with your hair as well um. If your topper is the same style as this one with the comb at the front, some people feel that the comb does pull on their hair and just be mindful that the comb is obviously at the front of your hair, which is where your most sensitive areas, Potentially is on your head, so if you do feel that the comb is pulling just simply don't use it, it's not necessary. The clips hold it down enough and in terms of flatness, i normally just place the comb there or i'll just take it out, but it doesn't like make it less flat or more flat. Actually, if you take the comb out, it can make it a little bit more flat because you're just removing a little bit of a layer there but yeah. These are my tips for preventing traction. Alopecia. If you have any questions, you can send me a message or you can leave a comment here and i'll speak to you all really soon. Thank you. Bye,
