If you're part of the group of people on instagram, who basically loki harassed me to make this video, i want to take the time to thank you, because without you, we wouldn't be here. Hi guys welcome back to the channel. It'S your girl, janja, of course, and today's video is all about my hair. My hair color change, basically a bit of a hair update. So if you don't know, i went ahead and dyed my hair last august actually - and i had this bright orange hair, color good old times, but she faded and it was time to get my hair colored once again and the roots were coming in strong. So it was time for a little bit of an update this time around. I got rid of the orange color and what is this? We are looking like we're blonde honey blonde with some lowlights highlights. I don't know girl, but let's talk about it, so i originally got my hair dyed in february, so it's been a month and yes, i do apologize for the delay in uploading. I wasn't a little hiatus. You know i was doing me. I had to put me first, so i was taking a little break of posting on social media, which is why i hadn't really updated you guys. But if you do follow me on instagram, then you already know most of this, but we're gon na dive a little bit deeper today and talk about what happened to my hair. If you did miss why i was on the low social media break, i will link a video up here somewhere for your viewing pleasure. So, yes, we are basically blonde um. What is this honey blonde? I don't know what to call it, but i'm just gon na call it honey blonde. It'S giving me beyonce, but making natural hair and my hair doesn't look that much different. But there is this subtle difference. That'S making a world of a difference, so what we ended up doing is a tone change and, from my understanding and listen, forgive me, i'm not very knowledgeable in the world of color i'll, be the first one to admit it. However, all i can tell you is what i saw happened and basically, what the stylist did is use a clay dye. She went ahead and used that to get rid of the orange you and the orange color that was in my hair and then we went ahead and added some dimension, and i really really love the fact that i don't know the dimension being. There makes my hair a little bit more interesting like what's going on. Is it blonde? Is it chocolate? I really love the two-tone whatever's going on love it. I said i don't know the recipe, but after she used the clay mask, she went ahead and deposited the color and she also did some highlights as well as some lowlights. So i am just going to insert footage of her doing her thing and her by the way is z. Zarmala is the stylist that i've been seeing for my color. She is based in toronto and she is actually transitioning right now and doing a home salon situation. Very comfortable, i always have such a great time when i'm with her. We have similar energies and i like that, i'm very comfortable and i enjoy being around people that make me feel comfortable. So that's why i travel all the way to toronto to see her and continue to see her and she's been doing my color since i started coloring my hair in august and i kind of like seeing the same person for you know the same service. So we started the process by lightly stretching my hair because she actually likes working on stretch hair just because it's easier to evenly coat the hair, it's easier to maneuver and work your way up a little bit faster, at least from my understanding. So she um stretched my hair just by combing it out really, so it wasn't anything too crazy from there. She went ahead and applied the clay dye. I have to ask her for the specific name: okay and she did say she was going to send me all of the information and names that i need so that i don't sound like. I don't know what i'm talking about in my video, although i do sound like i'm, i don't know what i'm talking about in the video right from there. She she did the low light highlight situation. It was very interesting how she did it. So basically, she picked out strands of hair to add the chocolate brown color to, and then the other ones were basically blonde. This time around, i feel like the whole process, was a little faster than the first time, because the first time i had to bleach my hair entirely and that took forever. It wasn't as long from what i remember, but once we're done with the color she washed. My hair out and we did a wash and go it's very interesting because some of you have been seeing her and and apparently having conversations about how you guys think i should be straightening. My hair, when did i say i was ever interested in straight hair. So when i saw her, she was like, the people want straight hair and i was like who not jen jay's followers. We don't do stray hair um. She almost convinced me actually to straighten my hair, and i was like you know what i don't remember liking. My hair ever liking my hair straight every single time. I did it. It was kind of like disappointment because you expect to have the body the volume. If you have fine hair, the reality is you're not going to get the body of someone with thick hair and i hate to say it. But you know within the natural hair community there are two things that is very valuable, long, hair and thick hair. And if you don't have either of these things, you really do feel like your hair is not good enough, and i'm here to let you know girl. That is not the case. Fine hair is just as beautiful as thick hair anyways. You didn't even ask for all that, and here i am preaching and that's the color change i really like it. Let me know what you think, not that it really matters, because i didn't do it for you. I did it for me. I just have to put it out there. I know someone's gon na be like, but actually actually nothing. Okay, i really do enjoy this. I feel like it's really giving me spring summer, vibes it's not as bright as the last color. Definitely not, and my mom made sure to let me know, but she actually really likes this one, which is very interesting. So, yes, i really enjoyed this color in terms of maintenance. Z recommends that i see her again in june so that we can um. You know refresh this color because blonde is a little bit more high maintenance and then, after that, in the fall she says i can do a different color and typically people go a little bit darker in the fall. I haven't decided yet what i'm going to do, but i think by then i may cut my hair. I don't know, i don't know we'll see we'll see. I make no promises, we'll see what happens, but let me know what you think of this video. Do you like the color? Do you not? I will put a little video over here, showing you exactly how i did it honestly. I just um did a wash and go. I went to bed with a scarf on my head, so i completely flattened my wash and go and then i went ahead and styled it the next day. So i pinned up the sides. I pinned up the back and i just kept fluffing it until i got the desired. Look that i was going for not that i even know i was going for a look, but i just played around with it until i found something that i like and half of the times with natural hair. That'S what it is you just have to play in your hair until you find something that you like all right. Thank you so much for watching this video, oh before i go. Merrybandoruffians: I love that the comments section is filled with other fine hair gals But this is why I prefer to only wear my hair blow dried when I want to wear it straight. When it’s flat ironed, it looks okay for a day or two then gets oily and weighed down and I am forced to put it in a bun/pony/French braid. And with how expensive silk presses are these days, I can’t afford to pay like $150 for a two day style. When I blow it out, it gets straight enough (since my hair is fine) but still has fluff and body.
