Hi guys so today, I'm going to show you how to convert your clip in extensions into tape and extensions, and what happened was I kind of got sick of putting my clip in extensions in and out and in and out every single day that I decided. I would try tape in extensions and I've never tried them before, so I thought that would be super fun to do and um. I started looking for them and I found out quickly that tape and extensions are the same price as clip in extensions except you get a lot less hair. What I am NOT going to pay the same amount of money for less hair. That seems ridiculous to me. So, just because there's tape on them, I don't know. I have no idea why they're they're so much more expensive because you have to buy two at least two packs to do your whole head for tape and extensions. So I decided no. I was going to convert my clip in extensions that I had bought previously from Bellamy into tape and extensions, and so I decided to start looking for videos on how to do that and there wasn't a ton out there. Maybe there is - and I just couldn't find it, but I didn't find very many videos on how to do this, so I decided to make one because this is such a super, easy and super cheap way to get extensions that are permanent. You know semi-permanent without spending a ton of money, so I'm going to walk you through what you need and how to do. Okay, so I hope you want to start with more set of extensions. Mine are from Bellamy and basically what you're going to need is a pair of scissors or an exacto knife, or even one of those thread. Removers is probably would be best for this, but I didn't have that so I just used scissors now. Each weft has some Clips, obviously, and then they also have a piece of fabric. That'S a watching the clips to the pieces of hair. So you want to remove the clips in this step first, so what you're going to do is you're going to cut the fabric or the stitch? That is the threads that are keeping the clips onto the piece of hair and mine has three different areas. Both sides are attached by thread and the top, so you just want to make sure that you are removing all of these just to get that clip out of there. So we don't have to worry about it anymore. Okay, so now you're going to be left with this piece of fabric - and you can choose to leave this here, but it's going to add weight, and it's also going to it's going to make your tape and extensions a little bit more noticeable. So I always, I think, bet this is the first time I've done it. So I don't always anything, but I think it's best to remove it. So there are two lines of stitches one at the top and one at the bottom and you're just going to want to remove those stitches. This would be one of those times where a stitch remover would in fact be your best bet. But again I didn't have that, so I just used this little knife thing and removed the stitches on each side. You you you all right so now what we're going to do is we're going to tape our webs. This part is a little bit tricky, especially with all the hair. I found it to be a little bit tricky, but it's not that bad, so you're going to need Walker. No shine. Tape in half-inch is what I used. I wouldn't use anything shorter than that for this type of thing, but you certainly can and what I just did was. I took both pieces and tape them on. At the same time, now doing this, you want to make sure that each piece is touching the tape. So I would make sure that the front one is the bottom. One is on the bottom and the top one is in the middle of the tape, because you want to make sure that you have at least half of that tape still available to be able to fold it over to the other side of the weft. Both sides need tape. You can do it this way or if you want to make it easier, you can always just put one piece of tape down one side and put another piece of tape down the other side. I just thought this would be a easier for me because it eliminates that huge amount of tape on one side. I just like that idea. You do it, however, you feel comfortable doing it and yeah. That'S that, so you can see here how I am. I still have half of that tape and I'm just going to fold it over try really hard not to touch the tape. The more that you touch it, the more your oils on your skin are going to transfer to it, and it's not going to stick as much. You definitely want those teeth to be super sticky so that it stays on your head. You, okay! Now we have it all taped, yay now you're going to have to do this like a hundred more times. I know it's like this. Is it's seriously a tedious task, but you're going to save money so make sure you have your flat iron and basically you're just going to tap your flat iron all down the length of the tape? Do not leave it on for very long or you will have a melted messy mess so seriously just a couple of seconds and then go you ok. So now it's time to install them after you have all of the clips off and the fabric off, and you have the tape on you want to go ahead and get them installed. I would start a little bit higher on your head, maybe in between, like in the middle of your ears. You just want to make sure that you have some hair underneath so that, if you put your hair up in a ponytail, you won't be able to see the web's. Your hair will cover the extensions. Ok, so just make sure that you start and like you can see there these once you stick them onto your head. You can always remove them as long as you're super quick about it and don't, like you know, smash it into your hair just yet so position. It and then move it if you have to, it doesn't feel great. I mean you're pulling your hair a little bit, but you know you can do it so just go ahead and keep going just like you would extensions and I would definitely map it out. First, another quick thing I wanted to say really really quick is that if you are going to color your hair extensions or your hair or if you are going to do any type of treatment to them like a deep conditioning treatment or the gelatin treatment that I Do on mine, then you definitely want to make sure that you do that before you put them in your hair. I always do that. You know once a month about so even when you take them out it to retake them, go ahead and put them. Do all your treatments on them? Do your color, do your conditioning and then re tape and put them back in your hair? That'S just going to be best for your extensions. It'S going to you know the tape. If you get a bunch of crap all over the tape, they're not going to say as long so you just want to be mindful of that. Ok you! So this is the finished product and um. I do feel like they're super secure. I guess time only time will tell if they are really going to stay or if they're going to fall out, I mean I don't feel like they're going to fall out, I'm pulling on them pretty hard and they're they're, pretty good in there. So um I put one right up here that I kind of wish I would have lower it a little bit because I like to do this solo and that's gon na get in the way. But you know lesson learned and next you know next month when I take them out and put it back in. I won't do that. So I hope you guys enjoyed this. Let me know below, if you try it and um, you know how it goes for you and show me pictures or whatever I'd love to see. All of that, so I will talk to you guys later bye,

Jenn Parish: I got my 1st set of ext about a mos ago, and fell in love! So, like you said, after being over the clips I tried tape ins and was so upset when I got them and realized there's no way that's going to be enough . Although I love the tape ins, I can't afford to buy twice as much. I've been looking online for a way to convert and saw your tutorial. Thank you soooo much!!! You're a lifesaver!

Julie Kozlowski: Saw this the first time on 52 weeks of beauty channel. I started doing this because I was sick of clip ins they kill my head. I love it! I do tape ins now because i have thin hair and therefore do not need allot of hair on my extensions. But the diy is so awesome!!! By the way I do coconut oil treatments on my extensions when I take them out. I melt the oil coat the hair place them in a plastic bag shoot a hot hair drier on them wrap them in a towel and leave it over night. Next day shampoo and condition and they come out great.

Brandi Lewis: I do the same thing, except I use the Liquid Gold glue to glue the tapes onto the hair. Stays a lot longer!

jennifer Simpson: Ty!! Great tutorial.. I’ve been wanting to do this for sometime with clip ins I bought years ago. But I have what may be a stupid question.. How do you reuse the extensions when they have that old tape on them? Is it easy to remove? Or is there a process I’m unaware of?

Cxptain Selena: Thank you so much! I've recently became interested in tape ins but I've definitely noticed how expensive are. I'll definitely be trying this :).

Vennessa Jensen: Did these end up staying in your hair for a month? Very interested in doing this with my clip ins.

Anika A: I have Bellami hair extensions and was considering buying a whole new set for another £300 for tape ins thankyou so much saved me alot of money

Sigrid van Osch: You are soooo helpful. Thanks youuuu!!!!

Guiding Goddess Yoga: I’m totally trying this because my clip ins are super light but the clips hurt my head! I’ve never used tape ins. Any special care advice for washing, sleeping, etc?

Tamara Bridgewood: Hello, thank you so much for your video! I was just curious why the tape has to be on both sides of the hair? I need tape ins for my wedding and my hair is going to be a side braid that is curled at the end. So I don't know if double sided tape is a good idea. Please help me out!! :) thank you so much!

Yadira Quezada: Hi. I love your video i will do this tomorrow but can you please tell me the name of the tape you use and also let me know how often you wash your hair and if the extentions stayed in place after washing hair Thanks

Melissa Tichenor: If you were to cut those up in 1 inch pieces how many do you think you would have? I'm just curious bc I'm thinking about doing this and I wanted to see if I would have enough for 40 pcs :)

Ansha Smith: Thanks so much I will do on my clipin....which I am not using it .were do I find the tape? How do I put out it ? God bless you

Michelle Scofield: Hey Sarah I was like u looking for a way to have taped hair instead of clip in hair for the same reason as u. So I got taped hair and clip ins I had so I put them side buy side and it was crazy how little hair u get taped then clipped.

valerie guzman: how long did these last ? :)

Shannon Jefferies: I miss my hair extensions just don’t like putting them in all the time where did you get the tape from thanks

amira ammira: the no shine tape is double sided or single side??

Medial canthus: I like the quick part at the end n how u took a quick sip from the pink cup

Amalia Catherine Nelson: I don’t understand how she’s putting them into her hair. Am I missing something? The tape is on them then it’s not anymore?

Kayla Hatch: Would you mind sharing what jelloton treatment your talking about?!

Laura77: Do they feel heavy?...I have thick hair but I want it bit longer,..also want to try out balayage color to avoid damage my natural hair...but I'm afraid they would feel very heavy:((..you did a great job!!..I don't like clip ins..xoxo

rakhi chauhan: How long can it be kept in the hair, can it wash hair even if it is engaged in hair? Pls rply urgent

MsDriftedSW: sorry if I'm being dense but why does each piece need to have sticky tape on both sides? when I look at actual tape in extensions the pieces/strands only have sticky tape on one side, you stick that to the bottom part of your own hair strand, and then put another piece on top of it practically sandwiching your hair between two pieces of tape ins. that's why I don't get that your pieces have tape on both sides?

Ansha Smith: How do stick it to your hair you use another tape to stick to your hair more than you did with while you show us or..

Eda: Why has to fold the tape. Some people use it unfold it. Yo skipped that part. I did not see after you fold how will look like

Zay Say: I’m pretty sure taps in are more expensive because the quality is much better than clip ins, made for being washed daily and lasting etc even those from the same brand are different clip and tape hair

KELLI PATTERSON: Looks like Christy Allen’s way of doing it.

A H.: U need thicker extensions. 250-300g

alyy j: how do u get them out urself?

Michelle Scofield: Hey Sara I noticed that u U just left them long like the clip in and I noticed also u put them in like they were clip in. In other words didn't do them like the videos I watched here on putting them in

Andre Corley: looks like your putting them in like clip extensions. your not supposed to put the tape on your hair like that. tape needs to be on both sides and not to your scalp. at least I thought

XX Fox: ugh I just bought tape ins.

Lorene Margaret: Where can I buy this tape!?

Lexie Reilly: Update?

Victoria Vaughn: Update?
