How to curl hair extensions with creator of Natural Beaded Rows Danielle K. White! dkwstyling.com

Honestly, hair extensions is one of those things that they're high-maintenance to be low-maintenance everybody's Danielle here from dkw styling. I am here in my salon here in Laguna, Beach, California, and I, if you're new, to my youtube channel, I specialize in hair, color and hair extensions. I'M the founder of the blog dkw sighing and I created a hair extension method called natural beaded rose. So if you have more information on that click on the link below this video, that's gon na. Take you directly to my blog and you can also follow some of my work on my Instagram page, which is dkw styling. I love fashion and hair, so I blog about all of my favorite things. Um, each week on Tuesdays, I try and share the Tuesday tip of the week so this week my video is all about my beachy waves. So in this video I want to share with you how I curl my hair, because people are always asking what I aren't. I'M using what products, how much products, how I'm doing it and honestly hair extensions, is one of those things that they're high maintenance to be low maintenance. I feel like I can curl my hair and it will last for two three days, and this is kind of some leftover wave from about two days ago and I kind of smooths it out a little bit so that I could show you guys how I recreate My curls on myself, as well as some of my clients, so I'm gon na start this video by showing you this is my favorite curling iron. Everyone always asked me what I on I'm using my clients, I've converted them all 20 of these irons and the reason I love it. This is the babble is Pro and I will put links on my website where you can purchase any of the products that I'm talking about, but the ballast Pro is magical. No, I the reason I love it is. It runs through the hair so smoothly. You can almost run it through like a flat iron and each curl. I do I kind of smooth and curl at the same time, so let's go ahead and get started. I'M gon na show you how I use this iron, how I curl my hair okay. So I wear extensions and I have these crazy short layers that never grow. It'S like fine hair girl problems. I don't know so anyways. What I typically do is I clip up the top layer of my hair and I start on one side and then I work my way to the other side. So you can see this is pretty straight. It has a teeny bit of a wave but you're gon na want to take. I would say about a one-inch section and I have my iron face being what is this facing down or facing up facing? I don't know how that faces down and you're gon na open the barrel towards the mirror, and what you're going to do is now. This is a trick with extensions with your real hair, and it just makes it easier and your curls will last and be more smooth. I always run it through a little bit get kind of the hair going in the same direction. You'Re gon na start like mid shaft and you're gon na get the base of the curl there you're gon na. Let that heat up and then work your way down. Now I don't like the the heat to sit on the ends too much, but I don't like my hands completely straight um. I don't like when hair is wavy and then the ends are too straight, especially the extensions I feel like it makes it not blend as well, and so again, I'm gon na take a one-inch section and I have my real hair clipped out because, honestly, I don't Like to run over my real hair that much with this particular iron, but I love it on extensions - I honestly believe smoothing it before I curl it helps kind of detangle the extension hair and just makes the curl last a little bit longer. So again you can see I usually leave my curls in two and let them cool and then towards the end I kind of toss along and mess them up. Okay, so that's how it's done. I usually come back in a minute touch up my real hair and blend it in with the extensions, but I'm gon na move on to this side, again kind of just lifting up my natural hair and everything. I do I curl away from the face and - and I usually start here, work my way back start on the other side and work my way back again running the iron through a little bit. And if you don't want to ask early - and you just want to bend in the hair, just leave it in the hair less less time. Let'S say I just barely wanted a teeny bit see how that's a little bit less curly. So there's days where I want it really curly, because I want it to last a few days and then there's days where I just want like a just a beach, not even a beach curl like a beach Bend to my hair, okay. So now I'm moving on to some of these back pieces and then also my real hair. This is where I usually take a little bit of my real hair and the extension hair and I kind of curl it together. However, because my layer is a little bit shorter on top, I don't want to curl too much or it doesn't blend with the extension. So I just kind of rolled into the extension piece and again I put most of that heat right here at the base, because I want a lot of volumes throughout the middle and then I want the curl to look a little bit looser towards the ends. Okay, so for my bangs, you can roll them away from the face. If I kind of want to direct him forward, I kind of twist my hand and hold the curling iron upside down, and I run it through my bangs a little bit but see how nicely that curling iron just slides through the real hair and I'll. Do this side, it just doesn't pull or snag, and I get a really smooth, curl and then again I'm taking my real hair with some of that extension hair and just bending the ends into it. Well, if you feel like your ends, if you want to look a little more straight or a little more curl to you, get done in your hands or two too straight I'll. Take this whole section and kind of smooth it into just just to barely bend that end under you know the new hair extensions I feel like that, makes it look more natural. If you leave them too straight it doesn't I don't know it does. It looks more like extensions to me or if you want more of a straight look and you curl it too much - you can still take this iron and kind of smooth out those ends to get a little bit more. More straight. Look, and sometimes I kind of depends on my mood, sometimes I'll do either or just with new hair. I prefer the ends curls just a little bit more, so you can see that took me probably less than five minutes, and sometimes I'll use like my unite spray. Is a good one for a little bit of volume approach throughout and I love this break because it has just like a little bit of fold. I don't use a ton of hairspray and I feel like hair trees, a little sticky and I kind of like how this just gives me a little bit of hold and it's just a little bit kind of tousle too messy so anyways there. You go you guys. This was took me what maybe five minutes or less again, using the Babis iron and kind of the new unite texturizing Dreyse spray for a little bit of volume, kind of that undead look a little bit of tousle. Look so anyways! You guys, thanks for tuning in to my youtube channel, don't forget to subscribe or check out every Tuesday, I'm gon na be showing you guys my Tuesday tip of the week. So we will see you next Tuesday. You
