The Power Of Hair Extensions For Black Woman- Chimerenicole

Hair extensions have the power to change your look, your attitude, even your overall style. In this video I wanted to address the power of hair extensions as well. I get so many comments saying I look better without them or I shouldn't were them because I'm trying to have white girl hair! So I'm addressing this issue in this video. It doesn't matter if your hair is relaxed, natural, or has extensions. It's your hair and you can wear it any way you want. Special shout out to Nikki Tutorials for the inspiration to talk about such issues here on youtube.

Hey guys, so today's video is going to be the power of hair extensions. I was inspired by a video that seen on YouTube by nikkietutorials and she was talking about the power of makeup, and you know it really inspired me to do this. Video on the power of hair and hair extensions, I feel like now, there's kind of like a underlying war between women who wear hair extensions or women who don't wear hair extensions. Also, it's like between women, who are 100 % natural and women who have chemicals in the hair. It'S just like everybody's at war, with each other and everyone's trying to tell everybody how they should wear their hair. It should be your decision on how you decide to wear your hair if you want to be 100 percent natural, if you want to wear your hair and twist outs, if you want to wear hair extensions and you want to wear a hair color, let that be Your decision and I feel like with social media being so prevalent, everyone's trying to make other people feel bad for decisions that they make. I feel like it's almost like a fight in the African America mmunity, whether or not you decide to wear hair extensions or if you decide to go natural and if you don't do one of the latter. It'S such a big deal and it's such a big problem, and I'm just like why. Why is why? Are we fighting amongst each other? Because we decided to wear hair extensions or fighting unless each other, because we decided to let our hair transition or we decided to do the big chop or we decided to embrace our natural texture. Why is it such a big deal? Don'T take away the ability for someone else to make a choice on what's best for them. I wear hair extensions because that's what's best for me and my lifestyle, my hair is natural. That'S also best for me. In my lifestyle, my hair right now is Flatiron. That'S currently what's best for me and my lifestyle so because I've made those choices, I don't want to feel bad about them. I'M going to embrace the choices that I make, and I hope that you guys can also do the same thing. So without further ado on to the tutorial, so I wanted to do a video on hair extensions to show you guys how it can change your look and how we can also change a hairstyle. So in today's video we are going to be doing clipping extensions. I'M going to show you guys how I add some lift to my hair. Again I am natural 100 % natural. I do flat on my hair. I do sometimes click color rinses in my hair and, as you guys know, I do wear hair extensions. So today, I'm going to be wearing some clipping extensions by a company called better lifts, I'll just be showing you guys how I transform with the power of hair extensions, ok, so for the video I'm going to be using some clip ins. Typically, I'm wearing! Like? U part wig, I'm wearing for lace wigs, but I decided to use clipping today. I'M going to be using clip ends by better less I'm going to be using their a light, yaki texture. So I have another pair, but there are more of a coarser texture which matches closely to my natural hair without it being flat under straightened. So I do have my hair straightened a little bit, so I want to go with something. That'S a little more on the latter yaki side. So that's pretty good! So what I'm going to do is is I'm going to I've already sectioned off my one side of my head and I'm just going to apply the clippings to the other side. So I'm going to take out some leave out here, and this is just going to help protect my hair from the width I'm going to clip that to this side out of the way and then want to take a little bit of my hair line out. Just that amount I'm just going to leave this out. Everything else is going to go into a French braid, so I'm just going in French braid cornrow, just something to kind of get their hair to lay down, and it doesn't have to be anything. That'S too neat because your clippings are going to go right on top of this, so that's the braid, so you can do at this point. Pin it up or you can just tuck it inside of the cornrow like I did it just tuck it up. Next, we're going to take our clip in I like to start my clippings from the top, so this is where my party is. This is where the hair is parted, so we're going to start. We can start here. We can start from the body, I'm probably going to start in the bottom and work my way up, so I'm going to take the click mint. I open them up to the date they come in different lengths, so the shortest length will always go at the top. The longest web will always go at the bottom, so you're going to open up the clips, tuck them inside of the cornrow and then just close them back up, and these are my last two clippings. They are the short pieces and these are going to go so now that I got the clip in extensions and I'm going to be using my irresistible me curling wand. This curling wand has eight attackers to it, so I'm going to be using the 25 to 13 millimeter wand, which is 25 millimeters here 13 millimeters at the top, and I'm going to Chrome on my hair. So with my sections I like to alternate the curls I like to curl some going backwards and some going forwards. I also like to change them the size of the hair pieces that I'm using just need if they are more fullness and a little more volume. So now that we're at the top we're going to take smaller sections, I'm going to make sure that we're cleansing or natural hair with the hair extensions. Okay, so one trick, if you guys, are having trouble matching your texture with thick hair extensions or like me, if your hair is not as long as the hair extensions, you can take your hair in the hair extensions and, as you can see, my hair is sticking Straight out what I like to do is take my hair open up the hair extension into two sections put it in between and marry them together. As you can see now, my hair doesn't sit down as much and then i curl my hair around the curling wand and it helps to keep other than hair cohesive with the wand curls and also helps the hair not stick out of the curls. So at this point you can start your hair any way you like, as I say you guys, have choices. So I'm going to finger this through I'm thinking about getting at the soft way, I'm not sure so I'll just play with it to see what style that I like. So I don't want this to be the end of the discussion. I really want to hear your thoughts on this topic. Please feel free to leave your comments in the description box. I want this to be a ongoing discussion and the topic that we can work together to get some type of resolution because, as I said, never let someone take the ability for you to make choices on your hair. So I definitely want to hear your feedback on this topic, so that's it guys for this tutorial. Thank you. So much for watching, don't forget to thumbs up and subscribe, don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Twitter and share Nicole. I am also on Facebook, so I will see you guys in my next video

1Wise Nana: I absolutely agree. There are so many other issues that really need addressing that it is almost comical that folks have made a war out of hair inside the African american hair community. There are enough folks outside the community that are hurting us based on our hair choices, I.e. potential employers. Just saying. Thanks for the video and initiating the dialogue.

Dani: Personally I love how black girls are killing it with all these different hairstyles, weaves, wigs, natural hair - everything. I just try to learn techniques so I can be as versatile as I want. I think it's all wonderful, and I'm sooooo indebted to youtubers like you who teach me so much. No matter how we choose to style it, it is still black hair and it is beautiful!

Jasmine Dolcine: im a hairstylist and in school training to take license exam. I had a relaxer my hair broke off so I went back to being natural. Everyone has their own choices of how they style their hair I don't see reason for a debate no one is better than anyone else you have to find and do what works for you and hair is fun too. I wear hair extensions all types and wigs and I wear my hair out. My only concern is that with styling using extensions or not make sure you have a hair care regimen with quality products that work for your hair and scalp health. Sometimes people later suffer alopecia and other scalp and hair issues after going to a professional or doing DIY or combination because damage they got by wearing certain styles with or without extensions that could sometimes be prevented. Natural hair or chemically treated everyone has their own choice. Looking down on someone because they don't do their hair the way you do is stupid. Maybe if people had more confidence in themselves they wouldn't be so enraged by what someone else is doing. And when I said you in this comment its referring to everyone as ndividuals not you ChimereNicole specifically. I agree with your view to everyone had a choice. Lovely tutorial I definitely subscribed :-)

ThePassportclub: ❤️this! Considering clip ins...as I'm dealing with taking all these box braids down! I agree...hair preference is a personal choice. I've been harassed by non-naturals AND naturalistas as well. I chopped my hair 3 times before I ever knew that "Big Chop" was a term...and I often heard..."Girl, you need a perm." I loved my locks for over 8 years!!! No dread! But when I cut off my locks...sigh. Then it was..."How dare you cut off your locks!!!" But it's MY hair..."How can you wear weave/extensions?"...uh, cuz my fro underneath is wildin...but that's still MY hair & MY decision. (Flips hair) ❤️✌Do you!

Siobhan Zoe: Love this. Happy I subbed. This is soooo true.

jammie quinn: Omg love love LOVE this video that's a great great idea. I'm still in between on if I want to go natural or not. Wow. Yesssss you are so beautiful I look forward to more videos. # new subscriber

Qiana J.: I never really thought or cared to get clip in extensions. After this video tutorial of the way you installed yours I think I'll be investing in a set.

Ali: I'm late lol. But I enjoyed this. I too felt the pressure of not being "natural enough" and when I had a perm... criticized for my hair looking "wild" when I did braid outs (the natural look wasn't too popular back then). I understand why other blacks may feel a certain way because of everything our people have been through, but tearing each other down isn't the way to accomplish anything. It unfair to ourselves to not do what we want to do and then when a celebrity (most times of a different race) does it, now all of a sudden it's acceptable or cool. Im learning that we have to stand a represent us (unapologetically)- all different varieties of us!

Kendra Brevard: THANK YOU THIS IS SO TRUE EVEN NOW

larryandvon Tolbert: omg you hit the nail on the head ....this should be a instant hit

ghameurn: I wear extensions too mostly out of laziness or protective styling

Chelle Kirk: I feel like it's your hair do what you like to it but make sure it looks nice

Jrgs: great video

ghameurn: Looks nice

Christabel Boatemaa: preach

Sassy Moi: You taking WAY too long to get to the point.

xxdiscoxxheaven1: I just think people feel validated in their hair choices when they see other people do it. Natural girls want to see girls who look like them so the whole concept of embracing afro textured can become more acceptable to society as a whole. I understand their frustrations but everyone has a choice of what to do with their hair. Not everyone is relaxed because they "want to look white or hate themselves". I'm relaxed with no intention of going natural because I've pretty much always been relaxed and I like the way I look. When people say that I don't love my myself it's stupid because I've literally always been relaxed. I know no other version of myself; and if I'm satisfied like this then why should I change? People need to get their confidence from within and not rely on others for personal validation.
