Hello, my name is sarah. Welcome back to our hair extension video series in our first video, we showed you how easy it is to put in clip and extensions by yourself at home, and today we're going to show you all the tips and tricks that you need to take care of and Maintain your clip and extensions, the type of care that you do to your clip and extensions will depend on what type of hair it is. As you can see, we have a bunch of different textures of hair. We have curly, we have kinky straight. We have silky straight as well so, depending on the type of hair it is, it may vary a little bit, but these tips should work for pretty much any synthetic hair extensions. So, first things: first, when you remove your clip-in extensions at the end of the day, you want to store them properly. You can get a case like this one. These are pretty easy to find, but if not, you can also store them in a drawer. The most important thing is you want to make sure that they are able to just lay flat or hang flat, wherever you are storing them after wearing your extensions they're, going to be a little tangled up just from the regular daily wear so before you put them Away you want to make sure that you give them a spray with a conditioning and detangling spray. I like to use this awesome synthetic hairspray. You just want to give it a light, spritz and especially focus on the ends. The important part with synthetic hair is to make sure that it doesn't dry out when it dries out. It'Ll become brittle and it'll lose its texture. So you want to make sure that you keep it nice and hydrated. If you do that with your extensions, every time, then they're going to last a whole lot longer now you may be wondering if you can heat style, your synthetic extensions. This will really depend on the brand, so refer to your brand's packaging before you heat style. If you're heat styling your synthetic hair, then you want to make sure to use a heat protectant and do it sparingly at a low temperature to make sure that you don't damage the hair. So let's talk about when to wash your hair extensions, you want to wash your hair extensions about every 15 to 20 wears or if you find that they're becoming very dry and brittle, you could give them a wash to revive them or, if they're absorbing odors. Then you could give them a wash to get rid of the odor one of the most important steps when washing your hair extensions is to make sure that you're using some type of purified or distilled water, you want to make sure that you're using purified or distilled Water, so that there's no extra minerals that are going to further dry out the hair. So now, let's show you real quick how to wash your clip and extensions. All you need is a bowl. You need your purified and distilled water, a towel to dry them off, and some synthetic hair shampoo. You want to make sure that you use something. That'S formulated for synthetic hair specifically, so my clip in extensions have started getting a little bit dry at the end. So we're going to give them a quick wash and for this demo i'll just show you with one. So let's get into how to wash them so right before washing them. You want to give them a quick comb through just to make sure that they're not super. Tangled and then fill up your bowl with your purified water and today we're going to use this awesome synthetic wig shampoo. So what you want to do is fill up just a capful put it in the water and swish it around. You want to make sure you're using cold or cool water. You take your synthetic clip-ins and gently soak it in the water. You don't want to rub or twist them or scrub them too hard, because that will damage the hair. So let them soak for five to ten minutes so once you've, let your extensions soak for five to ten minutes. You wan na go ahead and get them out of the water. You can gently squeeze the water out and make sure that you rinse them off, because you don't want to leave any product in there again using purified or distilled water once you've rinsed all the product out. You want to squeeze out as much water as possible gently and then gently towel dry them again, just pat them dry, don't rub or twist. You want to go ahead and lay them flat to dry and just let them air dry, don't use a blow dryer or any heat to dry them. Don'T use heat on them, while they're wet that will damage the hair. So, just to recap, taking care of your synthetic clip and extensions is super. Easy. Just make sure that you have the proper storage that you use a leave-in, conditioner and detangler to keep them moisturized and tangle-free that you use purified distilled water when washing them and always let them air dry. With these tips and tricks. Your synthetic clip-ins are going to last a lot longer and keep looking beautiful. Thank you for watching this video.
