I feel like I have finally found the hairstyle God intended. For me. I'Ve been natural about 12 years and I've always struggled because my hair is very fine, but you know what I found a way to make. It look great make it look full and I hope you like it. I'M gon na make some clippings. I hope you love it. Let me know what you think this little ten dollar hair free trust, jazz water has been a lifesaver. This is how it looks straight out of the bag. I have been using this for years since I went natural for ponytails and then it hit me. I can just make some clippings with this, so I have a clip - and this is a comb clip, I'm making sure to. I I'm putting the needle through showing you how it's gon na go, I'm making sure to put the clip on the side of the hair. With this seen, it really doesn't matter what side you put it on, but it'll lay a little flatter if you can get it on the side with the seen. So I'm putting that in front it's a little difficult for me trying to show you backwards. The holes on the side of the clip are awesome, but I've never found hair needles. That can go through that and I prefer to use hair needles and hair thread, because it's a little stronger and and it can hold up to the oils and the sweat of the head. I found that regular needle and thread just aren't strong enough and they get all tangled up in the hair. So I'm showing you how I'm going through the first larger comb in the clip, not the hole on the side and I'm not going through every hole and I'm making sure to not as well. So I take it through the track at the ace and then I wrap it around a few times and I make sure the knot is vital that this be super secure, because you don't want it your track to get loose from your clip. And then you know you just look a mess and I'm not about that boom. Also, I am doing a few different sizes. I am following the basic way of hair extensions and I'm doing one eight inch wide piece which has three clips on it and that's for the upper back of the head to six inch wide pieces. They have three clips on them as well, for the lower back of the head, two four inch wide pieces for the sides and two two inch wide pieces for the front of the head. So this is, I believe, the eight inch one and mind you I'm doing this the night before I'm going to do my hair notice. My hair is all you know, twisted up and everything, so I'm just showing you ahead of time, so be prepared for a big lighting change to happen while and notice that I'm nodding very securely. It'S really important to not, basically the rule of thumb when you're doing here extensions is that it should be no more than about an inch and a half between the hair extensions and I'm finger combing the curls to loosen it up. It will very much resemble how my natural hair two strand twist, sets good morning, taking out my two strands with that. This wasn't elongated twists set, and this is how to hair look straight out. The back just to remind you look similar. This is how my hair looked when I finished it, and you know it's cute. It looks much better in person in on video, so you know got to change it up, jazz it up a little bit. This is the 8 inch section and I also had a 6 inch in my head. I am going to part out from ear to ear in the back of my head. That'S also known as the occipital and I'm pinning up the rest of my hair, and I am teasing down a few sections I'll show you it'll be easier for you to see in front of the head notice how the hair is laying it looks very similar to My natural hair, but just like it, needs to be plucked out a little bit more get a little more of the bush. Since my hair is so fine, it's very frizzy. I laid another six inch wide track right on the side of it. Now I'm going to put in the 8 inch 8 inch wide track. I think all of the hair is only like 8 or 10 inches. I ran my fingers through it and I am teasing where the clips will go. That will give me a better base to hold the hair extensions. The entire pack of hair that I held up was about 4 ounces, and I'm not even using half of that. So my guess is that I'm using uh, you know ounce or two at most. I expanded the clips stuck the comb in to where I had teased the hair and then secure the clip. So this looks you know pretty good. I need to add a little bit more to the top and I tease that root clip tease, tease, tease, tease tease, so you can see a little better and now I'm sticking in the clip the comb clip. There'S two types: there's a u-shaped kind and there's a cone-shaped kind, and I actually alternate between the two, because I haven't learned what the difference between the two is. I feel like the comb is more secure, but the top of my head can't really hold it. So here's my teasing at the root again, you want to make sure to tease straight down and not ball up and rip up. Your hair back combing is not boiling balling up and ripping apart your hair when it's done properly, so I'm going to finger it out. A little bit and see if I can get this to look more natural blend a little bit more with my hair and curly hair normally is not natural. Naturally, all the same limp. Here'S a little bit of lift. I considered adding another track, but I don't think I will. Let'S see: okay, there's a life. You too look, I think, look pretty cute, I'm still not a hundred percent sure about it. It might look a little too natural and if I put you know some pieces and I wanted to look amazeballs, not just cute, so I thought I was cute. I sprayed it a little bit, but I went out during the day and I came back after a few hours, and this is what it looked like me: no smiley it completely separated. So what happened is I did not use enough hair and I did not comb out the hair enough. I didn't get the hair enough frizz, so the hey eyes, the hair extensions had more weight than my hair. My hair is just so freakin thin and light and weight, so I need to do something a little different, I'm taking out that back row that was six inches wide and I'm going to comb it out. If I were to brush it out, it would get really frizzy and I don't want to do that just yet. I want to really get rid of this very well-defined curl because it doesn't work well in my ear and I'm just going back in air to air and adding this clip in hair extension here to air. And then I'm going to work my way up and through the head to see what else needs to happen, notice that I'm combing through the ends of the hair extensions I needed to blend more this time, instead of being hesitant to add the hair, I'm just going To add it, I only made maybe two ounces of hair extensions. I always feel the natural hair Gilda's. If your natural, you got to wear just your hair, but damn it. I want to look good. You know I didn't go natural to make a big political statement. I went natural because I like to look at my hair: click not hold relaxes, but I'm going to look damn sexy while I'm natural, you know, you've got how am i walking around with red lipstick and you know here that ain't hitting on much so what it's Much better now, let me throw in another one baby. Another one see that's what happens when I come up with my fingers. It was still to define now look at when I comb it out with an actual, if you have a less curl pattern at the time. Use your brush and work the hell out of that frizz. This looks so much better. I shouldn't have been scared from the beginning. I should have just you know, really went in two ounces of hair. That is nothing see. Look I'm smiling a lot more. Oh, a piece was trying to hide. Let me comb that out, but I don't need my natural Nazis notice that I got a track in my hair. So right now I totally feel like two E's I feel like I should be saying. Oh, I hate you so much right. I hate you so much right now, oh, if you're old enough you'll get it. I hope you enjoyed that video. I think I'm in love with my look uh rate comment subscribe, leave any questions that you may have Monae Everett hair makeup, like ah Monet, every calm, bridesmaid calm until we meet again

Mellow Denese: You are hilarious, thanks for the tip.  I have been natural for about 5 yrs but its hard getting this straight hair to curl but you've given me some hope.  I want the BIG natural look as well.  Thank you!

Jeri Hardwick: I LOVE your hair! I just started making my curly clip ins and this video has definitely inspired me to make my curly fro a little bigger lol very cute! Thanks for the tips! :)

MsApricotBlossom: Girl I loved that video and you did such a good job! I could tell you really loved it at the end because your face just lit up! I have been thinking about doing this for a while bot so much for the thickness, but just to add a little length in the back because I seem to get a lot of shrinkage over the shoulders even though my hair is past my shoulders when stretched. This video was helpful and Kelis was my girl!

C. Brown: I absolutely love, love, love this idea. I'm trying it out next week. Thank you so much, and it looks really good on you, too.

giggle box: I am soooo glad I found your channel. You are true blessing to those who are natural but wasn't born with full think hair...and like you said we want to keep it sexy and pretty at the same time...thanks Sis!!!

Pretty 4 Me: Thank you thank you thank I have the same problems with my hair because it's thin and light but I will definitely be doing this. It's absolutely perfect! Go girl

Constance g: Love it! Thanks for the suggetions.  My hair is thin as well.  This is a perfect solution!

tyechia wright: OMG!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I have thin dense hair as well and I can never rock a twist out. I'm definitely going to try this.

Tenisha: I have the same hair. Beautiful curls, but it's just so thin! This was very helpful! It looks amazing and very natural.

Tenisha: I have the same hair. Beautiful curls, but it's just so thin! This was very helpful! It looks amazing and very natural.

Shawn Plus One: I love it. I've been natural almost two years and keep it braided because I can't find styles I like. now that I can try this style I'm getting my hair in Monday. Whoo hoo thanks for the awesome tutorial.

jockin212: Can I just say that you are my favorite naturalista! I have fine hair and i oftentimes find myself frustrated with how my twistouts dont look as full as the thicker hair girls (no shade to them) so this look is awesome and I will be trying this!

Thobi Shange: This is SUCH an AWESOME idea!! I'm definitely going to do this.

juniemz1: i love this video. And i feel you on the natural hair guilt. We want to feel sexy too!! So I think adding clips ons, weaves or braids are fine as long as you're taking great care of your hair, its all good!!!

Taylor Branche: Monae your video has been very helpful to me in preparing my clip ins. Thank you sooo very much! I think with your lovely face, you can make some clip ins using human hair that is longer in length, like maybe 12 or 14 inch to really be awesome. You have the face and attitude to carry bigger longer and truly AMAZING. Aldo you can do a truly protective style by cornrolling down your hair and clip in the ext ensions all the way through. Going out to get my hair thread and needles ASAP! Thanx

Tamara Shea Art: Thank you SO much for this video. My college graduation is soon, and I really wanted to discover a new look for my natural hair. I've been wanting some kinky/curly clip ins for natural hair but the three companies I found are SO expensive. I'm talking $200+ for a pack of clip ins when TWO packs would be needed to get the desired look advertised. I just don't have that kind of money! Plus, I only want them for a bit more volume on the back of my head since my hair grows longer at the top and front. This is a life saving tutorial and seems so easy! I'm all for budget friendly ideas and I'm creative enough for DIYs. Thank you so much! I'm also considering an ombre look too and i'm sure I can find this or similar in different colors. Thank you so much!!

Natalie Brown: Great job. I'm sure about my sewing skills but I definitely will try this. Love it Monae you look fab!

Tonya Morrison LadyBugTLuv: i love it girl .... this is what i call free hair meaning your free to do anything with it and i love that ... up, back, bangs, side to side .... i mean you can do everything with that hair ... i think it would even look good with like a head ban or a flower or some cute clips .... i love it

xxxtacy: Fabulous!! Thanks for the instructions. I am going to try this.

Genesis 757: You make it look almost too easy. Thanks for making this video because now I know that this technique will work very well. I'm definitely going to give it a try. This is one more protective style we can rock. I think I'm going to cornrow my hair like with a sew in to c how that'll work. I'll keep u posted.

lepper456: It looks great. I'm one year natural and the struggle is real. Some days I love it and others I hate it with a passion. I damaged the top of my head and after 5 years it's trying to recover but I'm scared to do any of the protective styles and stress my scalp. Plus wigs and menopause hot flashes are not a good combination.

Tee Lee: Loved it! Excited to try this for myself!!
