Smudge Coloring Tutorial | For The Pros|Redken Colors|

Holy Cow.... Can you believe this color!!!! I am SO Proud of the results... I used Redken Color fusion colors 6N & 7AV with 10 vol... That base color turned out MORE then beautiful! I then added that color in as a low light to break up the blonde Color.. I added some pops of blonde using Redken Flash Lift Lightener using 20vol. I am so happy with the results!! what is a Smudge? It softens up the color along with adding in your natural tones back into your hair.. It creates the line of demarcation to just fade away.. Its a perfect thing to do for blondes when they have such a harsh lines of roots coming through!!

I'M highly friends I am here again like always, I always feel like I'm here all the time, but I'm excited you guys. So I have Maddie here and you guys I feel, like kinda super awesome and on her she drove two hours away to come. See me. We do our hair dye stuff. I'Ve never met her, but I love her already. We'Ve been talking and texting back and forth, and I already feel like I know her, so I'm just excited hi were here and we're gon na do something. I'Ve been highly highly highly requested, and I've had so many people be like. Can you believe, do a video of this? So I'm excited to tell you guys what we're doing today. So I want to just tell you talk to you a little bit about her history of her hair. So, as you can see, she's a blonde she's, a beautiful blonde. You love her blonde, but she's a mom of two kids and she's busy, and she just can't keep up the blonde hair all the time. So I mean have you done for me as you guys can see, she has what you call a line of demarcation. I'M not one person loves seeing this. This is just too high-maintenance it's too much to handle all the time. So what we're gon na do today, you guys is what you call a smudge, so I'm gon na be doing a smudge along with peekaboo colors, okay, so um! I just want you guys to see how her hair is growing out. Okay, so she's super blonde going on here. We really need to take care of that. So what we're gon na do today is blend everything together, so she doesn't have to go to a hairdresser every single six weeks to touch up her blonde roots. So we are gon na be doing and some gorgeous colors in her hair and pretty much released end of the day. What we're doing is breaking up this blonde and blending this Rudi look and creating it to be a very soft blond, color she's gon na walk out feeling like she's still a blonde, because that's the biggest thing she's said she that I want to look like that. Blonde still, but I want to be able to have this line of demarcation - is go away and I want to be able to have some nice, pretty soft um natural colors going throughout the Miss shots, her hair. So I'm excited to do her here. I'M gon na be so fun. She is more excited than me. She'S been waiting for this day to happen. Her natural color is a 7 level, and what we're going to be doing is a d7 level back into this. Ok, so what's nice - and this is something that, if you're a hairdresser when you're watching this normally you're like okay, I'm going darker. So what I have to do I have to fill here is the the technique of this, because I'm only adding 7 level into this, and it's only taking you're like maybe to three shades darker. I don't have to do a fill a filler because it's take we're not taking it dark enough. If that makes sense, so we don't have to use a filler, and I want to show you guys what color I'm going to be adding into her hair. So, let's get right to mixing what I will be using, you guys is red, can color fusion a permanent color Kay, so I absolutely love red? Can anything and the color fusion line is really awesome and with her hair, I'm going to be putting in 7 ash violet and - and that is when I give her hair enough ash tones on a long with a warm tone Kay. So I'm gon na be adding in both these colors a 6n ok. So yes, I'm going in and I'm taking it a tad bit darker, just a strip darker, because it's gon na kind of eventually kind of fade out. But we still want enough dimension and contrast and richness to this hair, so I like to add in neutral, because neutral actually ends up processing warm, especially if we're adding that into blond. So I'm going to be putting both of these colors together, it's going to be beautiful as 3/4, so I added 3/4 of 7 ash violet and then 6n. I will be adding in about three strips of that. Then I'm gon na be putting in ten developer. You guys so this is red, khun's peroxide, ten volume. I only am going to be depositing this color, so I'm going to go in here and, as you guys know already, I am the type of hairdresser who dumps and pours because I know what I'm doing like. I know typically measuring into measuring is a big deal, but I know my consistency. I know what I like. I know the eye for is on this side. You guys I'm gon na be putting in a scoop. One scoop of lighter red can flash lift. I love it and I'm gon na be doing 20 developer and we don't need a ton of lifting I'm gon na just be doing and breaking some blonde up. So I will show you guys the technique I will be using and it's going to be so pretty. I'M so excited so I'm gon na just mix that consistency up the way I like it and and I'm going to just if I feel like I need more light more bleach in hair than I'm gon na, go ahead and add more bleach in hair, but the First thing I want to do you guys before I get going and adding this color into her hair. I want to do a test strand or because we're not adding a little sex. I want to make sure I still keep help to that is I'm gon na. Add anti snap from redkin just a little bit of squirts, of that I'm gon na be adding in my Indian oil, which is from matrix and it's called it's a color and carrying oil. So I'm gon na just add a few squirts of that. Then I'm gon na be using red, can Diamond oil and I'm gon na just do like one vial of that and I'm gon na still keep her hair healthy, because I'm gon na be adding Lightner. To that. I want to keep help so and that's an option for you guys who can't afford or can't or don't want to invest or whatever or whatever the case is of not investing in olaplex always keep the hair somewhat healthy, so adding in oils into it will help. So that is my mixture? Okay, you guys so right now. I just have her in a for parting on just to off the sides and to off the back of the sides, but really quick before I start you guys, I just wanna shirt, because this is a really big deal, adding a depositing color into a blonde hair. That'S so blonde that hasn't been colored in such a long time, and you really want to make sure you get that color right on top like right on board. So I'm gon na just take like a section of this blonde color that she has in here and I'm gon na just do a quick test round. I kind of see what the color does. Let'S go in here and just pick up a tiny blonde section, something that you are okay with it if it is gon na get colored and I'm going to use my foil. This is optional. You guys, but I I rather do this and be more safe than not loving the color. So I'm going to go in here and just add that in here and just see what that color does. Even if it's on here for like five minutes, it's still gon na put in enough color to deposit, so you can see what its gon na look like. If that makes sense - and you are on the right track in this industry - because this is something you got to do so - I'm gon na go in here kind of let that set for a minute and I'm going to give it like literally five minutes and I'm Gon na see what color it turns into and I'll show you guys. Okay, you guys. This has been on for about three to five minutes and I already see color depositing and I'm gon na love the color. So it's it's warming up along with a she enough and it's gon na be beautiful. So that's my tester and, as I can see already within five minutes, I absolutely love that tone, so I am confident enough to go through and do the entire hair like this. So that's another tip you guys as a hairdresser and going into the industry. You want to make sure you're more safe than sorry, don't just go, throw on color and just think. Oh, my gosh. This is gon na work. Instantly like this is gon na be great. It'S gon na be perfect cuz. Some people's hair will not take a color, so you want to make sure you do a tester. So that's the test strand and it's actually fine to stay in here, because that's that's what I would be doing anyway. So I'm gon na keep that little baby going in there and then I'm gon na show you guys my technique. So let's get right to it. So what I'm gon na do Maddie's hair is I'm gon na go through her entire hairline all the way to each section of each party, just like you're gon na go in there and like act like you, pretend you're, adding in a all-over color okay. So I'm going to go through here with my 6n, with seven ash violet and I'm going to go in here and apply this straight out to the scalp. This is attend about ten volume, so I'm going to make sure I get, of course, for a regrowth, her virgin hair, and I want to show you why it's where I'm going to stop with this. So I'm going to go all the way through the hairline and where I really want to take this color you guys, because I don't want to just do her own natural virgin because we are taking it a little lower. So with this, I want to take it about to the temple area, so I'm going to just drag this color and overlap it on top of her Lightner on top of her bleached hair. If you can say - and I want to really make sure I get this exactly where I want it to be - okay - so I'm gon na go place this about down to the temple area. Okay, would I be doing you guys, though, if I didn't I'm going to be taking this color and going lower and dipping it more into the back and kind of creating it to be higher in the front? Okay. So here in the back, I'm going to paint this on about two right: there, okay about there and then what I want to do is I want to keep feathering higher into that hairline. I don't want that to be like a straight line. You really want to create more of a diagonal to it, so once you go to here, go all the way back and kind of just gradually work. Your way, all the way up, so you're gon na have a little bit of that kind of diagonal line. So that's how where I want this placement to be that's how I'm going to work this entire hair. So I'm going to go through here, you guys and I'm going to just paint on everywhere. You see um virgin hair, go all the way down the tea party section, and this part I don't fill - is completely necessary to have to completely educate you guys, but it's kind of common sense. You kind of see what I'm doing on this painting on. I'M. No big deal and then I'm going to show you guys what I'm going to be doing and to her blond color here in a second. So in the back you guys, I actually want to be able to dip this down. It'S habit, lower okay! So I'm gon na go through here. You make sure I really saturate through the Rudy area, of course, but I'm gon na go through here and I'm willing to take it as a B angle. Okay, so I'm going to take it and where I see my blonde, I'm gon na really make sure I work my way into diagonally. I don't want to go in here and just paint straight onto that blonde, because it's not gon na look blend it. So I'm going to go through here and kind of paint as a V like that, and then what I'm going to do is kind of feather through the middle right there, it's okay, some blonde is peeking through, is shining through. That'S in fact, what I kind of want and because you have a smudge, it's a very blended think so smudge is something that you can't just go in here. Put the color straight out in this paddock. We have a mountain line like that. You just don't want that so yeah, I'm gon na go through here and kind of feather through and create the V's here and go down the middle and still have a pop of blonde showing through. So that's how I'm gon na do the whole back. It'S a really quick here I enjoy to see I just created. You know my my guideline with the color I just went through here and really went down lower into the back and gradually went higher into the front. You always want a smudge to look more to Sunkiss cuz. Normally, what happens is everything in the back gradually kind of goes darker than the front? You always want a frontal face. Framing you know with lighter, lighter Ness, so yeah that went through here and kind of just went dipped down into the back and gradually work my way up a little bit higher into the front to take fast section and just flip that over I put a foil Right through here, so this blonde part doesn't necessarily get color on it. But I'm gon na go through here and just kind of place that over onto that side and I'm gon na just really make sure this entire hair is really kind of going through the same exact thing with this dark color adding being added into here. So I'm gon na just go in here and do like really just feather all the way down through the back as you can see and pull it higher into the front and saturate. You guys make sure you have enough product on your brush and make sure you're putting pressure onto them onto the hair. Another color on the other side as well and then put a foil and the reason why there's a foil is because you don't want that blonde hair to get stained at all. So then, you're going to pick up another section and you're going to take that section again, put it on to that side and you're going to paint on each direction. As you can see, this color is already working its way in and it's gon na be beautiful. So, as you can see, it is directing diagonally up and I love what I'm seeing right there. So what I'm going to do you guys stick with that same exact transition, so here on the other side, we have her hair, just kind of processing, and I want to get to the next side. So I'm going to pick up a small section and I really do work with small sections. You guys really really do so. If you can see that picking that up it's kind of slowly going to a diagonal, you always want the back to be darker than the front. Just remember that when you're doing a smudge, it's very important so we're to go through here and kind of keep placing the color where you started Aquos and you really want it like. I said this for you guys. You really want to make sure you're disconnecting that line of demarcation. That'S the biggest thing is when you're going through here, I will say right now: putting dark color against blonde. It'S probably one of the hardest things to do, because you really just don't know what that blonde color is gon na take. But if you you've had you know a really nice natural, neutral color, along with ash, going in it's all going to turn out of perfect tone. So same thing. You'Re gon na just paint on create the diagonal, make sure you're, adding your foil onto each side and the reason why you're doing that is because you're picking up this hair right here and if we were just to pick up this hair and have no oil right Here then, all this additional hair through the mid shaft sections gon na get color on it and you don't you just don't want that. So make sure you don't do that okay bye, so we have her all kind of oiled up at the root. Okay. Now, what I want to do you guys is: I'm actually gon na. Take these foils, I'm gon na pull them out now. The reason why I have them there is for placement, so I'm gon na pull them all out. Then I'm going to show you guys what I'm going to be doing. Take those babies out perfect, okay, you guys so once we have all these foils out, what I'm going to do you guys I'm going to take kind of a wide pick comb like this. I want to just take this. I kind of just brush softly and light me down through the entire hair kay, and what that's doing you guys is that is breaking up that line that is being created. Okay - so I am not done with this, though, and this color I'm seeing is beautiful. I am loving the color already I'm going to go through here and kind of just pick through and make it consistently all the way through. I showed you guys. The very first thing you want to do is make sure this is even K. How bad would it be if this side was was more down, and this one was more up like horizontal and I kind of crazy lopsided. You don't want that. So make sure everything is evenly together and it looks really good and to do is I'm going to go through here kind of create this Definity broken up UI. So what I want to do - and I will be using my color board, so we use my color board and then I'm going to be using my leaving paper so I'll be doing because we are going in here and we want some peekaboo pops of color. The same exact color so as you can see here, just leaving that that would be pretty that's considered more of like a melt smudge going on, but we want to break up this blonde. So what I'm going to do you guys? I'M going to start underneath here? Where her ear is, and I'm gon na take a boil, place the spoil long so vertical and put it I end up here and take all this hair, because we don't want this hair to get any of that brown color on it. So I'm gon na take that and put this all over here and just place that right there. Okay! So then, with this section, I'm gon na just take that kind of comment out and then what I want to do you guys is. I want to weave through some of this low-tom color, along with some blond color in here, so with this section, I'm going to take this and I'm gon na take about like a medium sized weave and I'm going to go in here and take my board place. My board right through here and I want to just paint on here this low light color. This is the same exact color of her roots, so I want to go through here and kind of break up some of this blonde color that is showing through. So I want to really consider this more of peekaboo colors and not dimensional. Contrast will be added in along with enough pop of color and place that right there and let that set. Then I'm going to fold that baby on over and place that and let that process, so I'm going to be skipping every other. So this next section I want this section to have more blonde throughout okay. So I'm gon na pick that section up and because she already has really blonde you guys. I really don't need to do a ton of overlapping. But if there's some tongues like this color - and I really want it to be really blonde in the front - I'm gon na pick some of that up and I'm gon na leave that sub section out and I'm gon na make sure this color is blonde. So same thing, I'm not going to use the color board on that because my color board is now already has brown on it. So I'm gon na just place that right there and I am going to be putting on some lighter and I'm gon na be overlapping. But I only have 20 volume in here, so should it be too strong of a color to create damage and then what I want to do you guys I'm going to kind of paint all the way up and kind of overlap, these two colors. I really want that front piece to be. I really want the Front's to have a lot of blonde going throughout the entire thing, so pull that baby on up and we're going to just do that, every other one. So every other one we're going to do a color, that's low light and then the color. That is a highlight. Okay, you guys once we get to the very top. So what I did here is I weaved out some of the colors. I definitely want to have launched okay, so the very top. You want to make sure this stays blonde, because that's what your blond still want. They want to make sure there's still blonde enough. So what I'm going to do here, you guys, is I'm going to just take my blonde and I'm going to actually paint on here and I'm gon na overlap, and I want that to be a little bit lighter right through this section, this area. But I really want it to be very blended. I don't ever want her to come through, be like oh, my gosh. I have a line right there. So you're gon na really blend that through really good and you're gon na just paint on, and this blonde is not gon na - have to sit in here any longer than me just going through kind of foiling the hair. So the processing time, I'm not sure on it, I'm really just trying to pop out some of the gold tones that are throughout the hair and then I'm gon na just go through here and kind of feather through and overlap, because blonde will go through like this. Will eat the mean bleach? You know it's gon na eat through really anything, so I'm gon na go through here and kind of just blend that really, together all the way through and those ends they're already a really pretty color. So I'm going to keep out these ends and I'm just kind of put up to this side and then I'm gon na place that and pull that right on over so now, she's processing on this side and now I'm gon na go on to the other side. Hey you guys, so I have Maddie kind of off heat word up and you guys it is turning out amazing. First of all, I'm loving the color that I'm seeing I'm super excited out the color. It'S Ashley enough, along with warm, but I want to show you underneath this cute little paper what's happening because I'm in love already, so, let's pull it down check that out. It'S amazing it's transitioning, amazingly, and what I want to tell you guys, really quick, because she's already a blonde. I just wanted to pop out some more of those blonde tones, because I want it to be like a glossy, beautiful icy, warm smudge amazingness. So this is the blonde that you see now. Let me show you guys what this color looks underneath this paper and that's that color and that's amazing. It'S so pretty I'm so excited. So what we're really doing is I'm gon na have her process for about 15. More minutes and because I'm not like I said, I'm not really trying to pull a Burnett to blonde these these these papers, I have one of them - don't need a ton of processing, so I'm gon na let her process in room temperature. Okay, you guys. So I actually ended up to study to tone her hair, just because I want to give us some shine and some extra oomph of the blonde, so I'm gon na use my favorite, you guys know it's my favorite 9v toner from shades eq. It has the but it's the platinum ice which i love. So i'm gon na go ahead and mix the 1 ounce in here so go to 1 ounces. Then it is equal parts. So i'm going to go ahead and now take that to 2 ounces. Perfect two ounces, and that should be plenty of toner to kind of gloss over the whole entire hair of the blonde. So just shake that on up, but we are getting ready to wash her. I have a toner mixed up and I'm gon na be using my pure ology, which is my all-time favorite baby, but I'm going to talk to you guys really. Could you have this cool little eye on my bus now so this this is called a big buddy. Okay and you just flip it on rinse and leave, leave behind the sink, so this is for clients that have any color put in it's just like this cute little bit like look how cute it is, and you just put it on your client before you actually Shampoo, their hair and it's nice because there's absolutely no risk like getting like water down the neck, or anything like that. So you're gon na just go in here and just put that right out I'll show you guys all this hair up so just like, sits right behind their neck and it's a perfect little size and there's no chance of getting your hair getting watered down that neck And it's just it's nice and it's comfortable, so I decided you guys should check them out. Um, you actually can go, find them on Facebook, it's that bit buddy and I will link everything below. But I think this is kind of nice to have when you're shampooing. Your client, because you don't ever want to risk the chance of getting their clothes wet, so this is not really polite it. I really like it. Okay, really, quick! You guys, I'm gon na start pulling out these papers. I want to show you guys how easy these are to pull out, so you just like flip them out just like this, and I want to show you how, but you think the colors looking I'm in love with the color, so I'm gon na just pull all These out, okay, you guys, so I just got her. I rinsed out the color looks amazing wet I'm super excited about this, but I want to just tone her blondes, not that I need to. I just want to kind of pop out that just pop out some of these nice platinum colors, so I'm gon na just go through here and kind of just put my toner all throughout the ends mid shaft area, and this really makes sure we can get a Really nice icy, shiny platinum blonde in here, and she already has great blondes, but nothing there's nothing ever wrong with going in here and enhancing the blonde. That'S already in there and kind of give that blonde a good refresh in so I'm going to just go in here and make sure I get this all over saturate. It really good - and this is something that doesn't necessarily have to stay on very long. You guys can keep this on for a maximum of 10 minutes. Minimum 3 minutes like it can go, doesn't have to be on very long, and you don't have to worry about touching this up here and because this won't change the color at all. So I'm gon na just go in here and kind of just enhance this blonde, and then I'm going to show you guys it dry and so excited to see it. Okay, we're here, I crave the I'm so obsessed with the way her hair turned out. You guys so look at this amazing color. If you watch the full video, you knew that before her blonde, a was very kind of golden warm kind of had a little bit of brassiness warm to it. We kind of am obsessed with this um cool tone. Blonde! Look down for me! Look how amazing this top turned out like hello, no more line of demarcation, ice, very soft, beautiful natural level, seven color! That'S gon na match her own hair that when it grows out so when I explained to Maddie was when her hair curls out what's gon na happen is she is going to see? Okay, her roots are coming through. Her roots are coming through and they're getting there and they're like starting to go right here, and then this will area is when I keep just getting longer with this over her hair is gon na grow into like a really beautiful natural melt. That is just naturally gon na grow. That way, because this hair is a permanent color. This is not going to actually really fade out too much because it was virgin hair and what we did you guys is we broke up that color and added these really pretty low light colors, so this bottom color with the same exact color as her roots. On top look down for me, look at that same exact color as her roots. So I am pretty happy that we matched exactly her her natural color in her and it feels amazing we cut off about a half inch of her hair and her ends and it looks good. Are you in love? I love it. Mandy is the best. Oh, my gosh, I love it. That'S what makes me happy you guys. I love what my clients are happy with their hair. Like I, I do take my time and I really do make sure that they're happy with their hair, and I asked her - is there anything? I can change what can I do different she's like it's perfect, the Hermetic so happy turn all the way around. For me, let's show them the back. Look. How gorgeous is this? I love what it did. So this is what you call a very natural smudge. Just look at this color you guys up close. Can you pleased to see that I can't even believe it like we broke up that blonde. We added in some really nice dimension. It'S cool toned, I loved Maddie's hair, I'm so glad that she drove two hours to come to me, she's forever, my client for life now and um. We love her hair. You wonder what I love most right now is that she's, a mom of two kids and she doesn't have to come to a salon to get her hair boiled every single six weeks. So I'm happy that I was able to do that for her and my sad that I will see her every six - we're. Probably yes, I am, but it will be good for her to have more low-maintenance hair. So I want you guys to get enough clothes. I want you guys to see this up close. Just look at that color! It'S stunning, it's beautiful has some of those low light tones throughout. You see absolutely no line where I painted on that color that low light color. There is no line there and that's exactly what the biggest goal was. That'S what you call a smudge and I'm happy with the results and if you guys are happy thumbs up thumbs up like crazy and for her for trying to two hours yeah. But I'm subscribe to my channel, you guys don't forget and I will see you my next tutorial see you later

Satina Cooper: absolutely fantastic detailed explanation and demonstration of how to do this. My roots were very dark grey about a 6 and my hair was an 8 blonde colour. My demarkation line was terrible. Your videos details gave me the confidence to give it a go. I used Clairol 8 light blonde mixed with Clairol 7.38 Medium blonde golden pearl equal parts of both mixed with colours mixed with 10 vol about same about as both colours combined...and followed your example on demarcation line....OMG...its gorgeous. I intend to go back over hair tomorrow with the 10 vol and blonding powder and add oil as you showed...and add blonde highlights. Thank you -  you're an angel for taking the time to teach this to us.

gina cozza: I have been losing sleep over doing this process. You just taught me so much! Love this technique and thank you for taking the time to explain step-by-step! Beautiful work!

Joie Gardner: I literally love all of your videos! so informative and educational I'll be definitely using your techniques in the salon!

Aubry Jordan: I'm a new subscriber and can I just say I love your work you are so passionate about what you do and being precise about every little detail on someone's hair makes me appreciate what you do so much more because now days it's hard to find someone who's willing to take their time on a client and are more about squeezing in as many clients as they can. I would love to come to you one day and have you do my hair, we need more stylists like you in this business.

Angela T: Hi, great tutorial! The end result is beautiful. You are an artist and I can see how passionate you are about your craft. I do my own balayage effect using Goldwell color. I like the idea of using oil in the color. Can you list conditioning products that are safe to mix with the color. Thanks:-)

pinktashu: You are amazing!! I'm a hair stylist as well, I'm so glad you made this video! I have a client with super blonde hair just like yours and needs something like this done! but her natural level is about a 3/4. What would you do in this case as far as formulas? Fill correct? I use redken as well. :)

Brittany SH: You do such an amazing job! I have only been in the salon for 2 years so I am always interested in further education and I love redken also I have not tried the flash lift but I do want to since everyone seems to love it! I love how you did this and I love the base color it matches perfectly. Did you say the measurements were 6n 1/4 tube, and 7ab 1/4 tube? Thank you for posting such great videos to learn from!

Brad Brooks: I've watched 7 videos on this and finally the first person I hear mention about fillers and why it's okay not to have to do it on a level 7. I've been waiting to see if anyone would remember to mention that important point on their videos. Good job.

CDWHair&Nails: Thank you for always doing your tutorials. I learn so much from you.

Truth InHair: You give GREAT instruction.  Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and I wish you continued success!

Kelsey Ray: Mandie, thank you so much for your awesome videos! As a hairstylist I find these so helpful. Thank you!

Taytripper: I love your work! I'm obsessed, I think I watched all your videos! I love how you're always putting new ones up :)

Susy Karyn: I'm a stylist and taking in all the advice and tips seriously helps me grow! Keep up these videos!

kenzie: This looks amazing!!! I was worried it would be too ashy on the blonde hair without filling but I love it! I would love to see this smudge but in reverse! Meaning instead of leaving the blonde and darkening the regrowth, lifting to a blonde and leaving the natural regrowth area! (: I hope you get that client so I can learn. Or just come to Cali and do mine bahaha (: Love you!!

Mandy Van Dyke: I can't even tell you how happy I am to find you. You are so refreshing, and very good at explaining things. I just watched 2 of your videos and can't wait to go back and watch all of them. I was just searching around looking for more videos to expand my education and stumbled across you. Love you already! :-)

Ali Short: Beautiful~ Do you happen to recall how long this entire process took you?

Ana: I love your tutorials every single 1 comes out perfect!

Keiya Hood: Wow. That hair color is perfect. And looks amazing and so natural. 2 thumbs up.

No more War!: Mandie you did a wonderful job as always, you blended and matched the colour it perfectly! So don't worry about any negative Nancy's lol cos the colour and root area looks heaps better than what it was before she had her hair done. You did a great job on picking the right colour to match her own colour,I love it!!

Ashley Geren: You are adorable! I am a cosmetologist and this video on the smudge is so helpful. Thank you!

Caroline K: I love how passionate you are about blondes! Lol- so I bought the pureology hydrate shampoo and conditioner after watching your haul and seeing you use it a few times- I LOVE it! Do you recommend their deep conditioner too? (I think there are two- hydra cure and hydrawhip). Any recommendations on deep conditioners that are just deep moisture and NOT protein??

Danny Hall: Amazing as always Mandy! Voice and all! (Lol). I would like to see something like this done, without bleach though. Like when lightening is not an option in any capacity. (Hair May be too damaged, or for other reasons etc..) Just simply a base break smudge.

Constance Hardy: This video is so informative!! Thank you so much. It helped a lot!

Jennifer Hernon: Mandie....thank you for your videos. Love the Redken formulas on your blondes. Also...so glad you love the Bib-Buddy. It works awesome!!!

Rat Chow: First, beautiful color. Advice, if you apply the color on the sides at a vertical angle it will fall more naturally.

Ricky N: Wow it came up so gorgeous!!! I really love your video!!!

Leila Carvalho: Omg I love the way you explain color and test hair I have seen colorist use 6n in formulas for dark haired girls to lift them and I'm like omg why? Then end up over processing them. I wish I could grab your comments and just replay it because seriously

Aemilia Frank: Oh my gosh this is just absolutely stunning! Wowza! Fabulous job!

Kathy Eckert: So glad I found your videos!! I learned so much from you in just one night! I could watch you work for hours and I have, lol!! Thank You!

Maribel Barrera: You've helped me so much! Since I've only worked at an all men's salon straight out of school I only know the techniques I learned at school and I've gotten better cause of you! I tried this on a client today! Came out great but I do have to get better at picking colors that fit my clients. Was wondering when you were rinsing her out...do you have a portable shampoo bowl? And do you recommend it, I do hair from home and don't have a place to run water for a shampoo bowl so was wondering if the other kind is good? Thanks Mandi your amazing!!

Myfabulexlife: I came across your channel about a few weeks ago and I have learned so much. Your work is amazing. I love how dedicated you are to your craft. You've inspired me to make my decision of going to beauty school. Where are you located? I would love to get my hair done by you one day!

Anna A: The hair turned out absolutely gorgeous, @ThatBlondeGirl Mandie ! Major love!

crazypeg2008: I'm a new stylist and I'm learning so much from you!!!! Thank you!!! Can you do a video on the business side as booth renting, building a clientele or just your story?

T CTG: I'm a natural redhead but I love the blonde shades. I haven't colored my hair in a yr to get it healthier, so now I'm ready to make it blonder. My red hair has grown in quite a bit. What do u recommend ( smudging, highlights, balayge? Ty! Also what state r u located in? Love ur talent!

Jessica Lynn: Omg I'm obsessed, I love this! What volume developer did you use on her toner?

Tanya DeMillo: This was beautiful! Great color!

mmizzy1: Love! Thanks for sharing. What is the plastic called you weaved the hair in? Never have seen it before, and want to order some.

Amber: Hi great tutorial!!! I was wondering what lightening papers you are using and where can I find them?

Alexsis Mae: Wow I've never seen the wide tooth comb trick! I love the base on her, its perfect!

Danica Guemmer: Mandie, you are amazing. I'm from Memphis, Tennessee & I'm in beauty school & you are waaaay better than my teachers at school. No lie. I hope I become an amazing hairdresser as you! Btw. I wish you were here in memphis, Bc I would let you go to town on my hair. Haha love you & I wish you the best of the best. Xoxo

Odette Hanna: Mandie I love your work. Can I request for you to do a balayage transformation on someone with level 2 dark brown/black dyed hair? I never see hairdressers lift that dark base and then balayage. They usually just balayage over the dark hair and the contrast doesnt look good at all. Thank you xoxo

Miguel Valentin: LOVE THE WORK THAT YOUR SHARING THANK YOU

sarahann_xo: These are major skills. I want to know how long this whole process took?

Amber Avila: Looks beautiful! You have an amazing talent!! Where did you get that awesome shampoo bowl from???

Laura: The Colors 7AV & 6NN with 10 Volume really came out Beautiful

Hope: Love the color! What would you charge for something like that?

Christy Blithe: That looks amaaazing I'm inlove with it too. Lol & always love your happiness. :-) I was wondering can I do smudging with Matrix Vlight lightener & the Redken Chromatics permanent haircolor? Redken is my fav for hair coloring too. Thanks for another GREAT video! :-)

Makeupbay88: So happy I found your channel! I love watching new techniques and products. I'm sold on olaplex and redken. I have not tried either yet. Also I think it's funny people who are negative have no picture, and no nothing about hair. Quick lesson, lights change the color of hair sometimes. You put any blonde under a certain light and you'll see some warmth. Ugh they just don't have any common sense! Being a hairdresser and knowing what we know is so fulfilling. So we have to laugh at the "know it alls" haha can not wait to see new videos!

Monica Bonner: Mandie that was an amazing technique!!! you go girl !! where can i get soft papers that you use in between/ please let me know Thank you

Chulzie: beautiful work!

Tiffany: Oh girl, you are always on point!!!! Lol... I'm a former hair stylist and was a color specialist, but some things you do just fascinates me! Lol.. I'm only 30 and haven't done hair since my little girl was born,7 yrs ago, so iv been off for a while, so thinking about going back to it and watching the things you do gives me so many ideas and pointer's! Your amazing girl and I'm very glad I found you!! :-) BTW, this is what iv been wanting to do to my hair! Thank you very much for being you!!!! You explain so well!!!! If your ever in Florida look me up! Lol..jk...

Rasha s: Love your videos! i am tired of highlits my hair is so dry and dull.. i am tired of roots my hair is brown can i use 10.1 for roots instead of 7 and 6?

Samir Hariharan: Sooooo beautiful!!!!!

Lauren Meyer: Oh my gosh!! That's beautiful!!

Kristin G: I am thinking about doing a similar thing with my hair, how much does this process typically cost at a salon?

Amy Lou Berry: Looks so pretty!!!

barbara lynch: You have a gift for hair. Absolutely uplifting. Your a pleasure to watch. Amazing. Xxx think you should come to Ireland to show them how its done lol.

Kelly Ingvalson: Another wonderful video, Mandie!

Cassie Bigelow / Beauty By Bigelow: All the girls at my cosmetology school are obsessing over this technique and video!  Thanks Mandie for all the inspiration.

Christie A.: My stylist told me she could do "breaking the base" to soften my regrowth. Is smudge the same as breaking the base? How would I communicate that I want a smudge to my stylist?

Olga Alvarez: just beautiful!

nicole shalan: BEAUTIFUL!

Rosa Wylie: Gorgeous!

carolynjo2578: You did an absolutely. Amazing job. And she still was blonde at the end of the day...

Roxanne Gutierrez: what are those strips called that you used to isolate the hair?

Robin Quinones: How long did it take for you to complete this service?  How do you schdule your color appointments?  Great work Mandie! Robin

kelly c: So how do you do the toner? Which product would I purchase so it won't lighten my darker hair while toning my blonde? Is it the reform shades eq gloss 9v with 10 volume developer? Thank you you do hair beautifully

George Pine: That was awesome!

Charly Darbonne: Could you list all your products in your videos please?

Stella D: What toners do you really looove with your blondies to get out yellows and oranges? Btw: Bomb skills, boo!! ;)

Chia Maria: FABULOUS you are so talented

Tumble Life: I have very similar hair to hers. Natural level 7 and it's lifted to about a 9. If I want my hair dresser to do this what do I say? It's called a smudge?

petrie’s_squad: Her hair turned out awesome!

Theblondedeath: Omg it came out perfect Mandie!!

Debi McCann: Awesome ❣️

karena woods: Hi and love from New Zealand. Just need some advice please. I have some olaplex on the way over from the States and can't wait to use it. I was platinum blonde for years then foolishly went black on impulse and have put a few semis and one permanent over in the black as it was fading. Now I hate it and want to go blonde again. How hard will this be to do myself, I am not a hairdresser. Thanks in advance, love your videos xx

Amy Lou Berry: Would love to see a video on how you set up for filming.

kell 2012: some of the best work ive seen yet

Alicia Grebey-hosmun: I love this but the bottom seems very dark

Dany Gagnon: Great technique.

Kandra Dusich: You can tone over permanent dye?

Bella Daisy: OKAY I NEED YOUR ADIVCE AND TIPS PLEASE!!!  so my hair is naturally light brown or something and I've dyed my hair a lot including a lot of bleach, I'm just in love with being blonde, but recently my hair was just too dried and damaged that i had to dye it dark brown and cut it up to my shoulders!!!!!! i really really hate it:( I've been taking really good care of my hair trying to repair it and there is places in my hair where there has been breakage but there is non anymore thank god!! but i a lot of my hair does fall out when i wash it. i really want to get back blonde, and i know i can't do that in one sitting, AND ILL GET IT PROFESSIONALLY DONE but how can i start getting it lighter and lighter without completely ruining my hair and keeping it nice and healthy?!??!?!?!?

Maddi Shulman: Times like this again when I wish you were in the wolverine state. It looks gorgeous!

Shelby Abbott: Hey Mandie! I was wondering what your email address is-I have a couple questions for you if that's alright! (Or would it be easier to reach you on Facebook?)

Soni Karia: Loved your video. I was wondering if you can share the shapoo back cap link would love to buy. thanks

Basset Girl: You are amazing. Wish You could do my hair!

Nargiza Asamova: Amazing result! Can you make am air touch video as well? And whats your location?

Martine Benedicte Grue Rønning: Very good job! But why do i see so many hairdresser that skips the very important thing - gloves!!!

Tumble Life: Love your videos by the way!! If I wasn't in PA I would totally come to you!

VINNY: ash or and neutral on blonde hair goes green or grey ? u have to pre pig the undertones of the blonde hair with oranges or red to stop it from going green ????

Christine Batsago: Hi, i have one question please can you help me? If i bleach thehair and after do the color with color fresh 7/19 will the hair turn green? Thanks

Hillary Belnap: and on some of the lowlight pieces you left them blonde, how many did you that too?

captainunderppants: Love the fact that the colour is beautiful. But as a hairdresser too. Where your gloves

Elly Diego: I would only apply the toner on the roots because the ends are very ashy

Gina Reale: I'm a hairdresser you are awesome

Ava Stubbs: I just watched a video by lexi? who did this technique with a blonde but she did not use a drop of bleach just the root base color melted and the blond pieces she wanted left out and toned it was beautiful i m confused with why the bleach please answer you never do

Hillary Belnap: how would you have worked having to fill the hair since its not an all over color

America Bless God: Could you explain why the root got 2x dark color? It was hard to listen to all the talking especially when I wasn't understanding and kept waiting to hear what 2 things were added to the root that looked the same. Not sure if it was toner or color or what exactly of what kind exactly. :-)

Elly Diego: I would also do the weave micro not chunky babylights

Leah Ann: do you do hair out of your house or do you have your own salon? I work at a salon but I hope to one day I can do it out of my house.
