How To Safely Remove Micro Ring Hair Extensions

Whilst we would never usually advise removing your own hair extensions, you may not have access to a professional who can remove you hair extensions for you.

During these unprecedented times, you may need to remove them yourselves.

Here is a video on how to safely remove your hair extensions during covid-19.

You will need a pin tail comb, a narrow pair of pliers and preferably an extra set of hands!

How to safely remove microing hair extensions you're going to need a pintail comb to prise apart any tangles that might have started to occur above the Rings and a pair of pliers. Obviously, hair extension pliers are advised here, but if you can't get your hands on any try and find some of the narrowest top possible so that it makes getting hold of those small rings and it'll bit easier. So you want to start by getting hold of your first hair extension and carefully squeezing the ring to open it up again. The ring should then slide down the hair and the extension can be safely removed. So to see you again, you want to squeeze that ring. Opening it up, it should then slide down the hair and the extension can be safely lifted away before you start combing the hair. You want to make sure that you are picking apart any tangles that might have occurred using your fingers and then use your pin tail comb to go through and separate them. There will be some natural hair shedding. This is what you're now going to carefully comb away. So we can see a little closer. We want to be squeezing that ring not too tight, because you don't want to fold it in half but enough to release that hair extension. I would advise maybe doing two extensions in a row and then making sure that you are teasing apart any tangles just so that you don't miss any remove the extensions row by row, starting at the bottom of the head and working your way up. This tends to be easiest to make sure that you can came out efficiently and not miss any. You do not want to be going straight in with your comb before you've teased, apart with either your pin tail or your fingers, because this is going to cause unnecessary, tangling and stress on the hair.
