Here'S the old way of doing individual keratins. The great thing about these is they're, really undetectable. It'S really easy to put your hair up in a ponytail without seeing them and they last a while. The bad thing about them is a lot of them fall out really easily and your hair can get pretty stringy at the end. Today, I'm going to tell you about individual keratins shrink links the new way of doing individual keratins that give you all the same benefits as the old way, but they last much longer. The reason they last so much longer is because, instead of the old way where you melt the glue and kind of turn it in between your index finger and your thumb until it adheres to the hair you're using a shrink link tube, that's made out of a Mixture of keratin and a shrinky plastic, and what it does is it ensures that you have the keratin glue all around the entire piece of hair and the extension. So it's really grabbing it and when you put heat on it it shrinks and it grabs onto the extension, so it's kind of like holding it in place. So this is Nancy. She has pretty fine hair, so we're only gon na have to use a hundred strands in her hair, which is the average for a full head. If you have thicker, hair you're gon na want to add 25 to 50 more strands. The extensions will last about eight months. You have to make sure that when you're shampooing and conditioning that you don't get anything too close to where they're applied, because the oils in the conditioner will make the glue more slippery and more prone to falling out when you're, straightening and curling your hair make sure That you don't get heat too close to it, because heat obviously will melt the glue when the glue dries. It'S going to feel like a semi-hard bead. It'S really gon na be in there when you pull on it. They'Re not gon na fall out like the old way, the old way they would last a pretty long time, but you would get random ones falling out here and there and that's never cute. You don't want to be at dinner and have a strand of your hair. Come out these ones, it's very rare that that happens, maybe one or two that will happen with, but they last about eight months, so one or two and eight months is a really good deal. There'S not really a way to tighten them, since it is glue. So they're gon na grow with your hair after eight months, they'll probably be about four inches away from your head and at that point, you'll want to take them out and redo them you so at the end of it. Here'S how it looks with the full 100 strands, as you can see it's a little fun. So if Nancy wanted to keep it that long, we would probably put in 25 to 50 more strands, but she was planning on cutting it. So once you cut off the ends and the ends look kind of thin at first and when you cut them off, they look thicker and you get that more bouncy. Thicker look so 100 strands will be flying after the cut when you're cutting extensions make sure you use a razor or you use slide cutting with your shears, because if you just cut straight across they're, going to look really fake since natural hair is thinner at the Ends so quick sidenote if you're a stylist watching this video you're gon na notice that I keep putting Nancy's hair in front of her and asking her if she wants to go shorter when a client says they want to go short, I always start really long, and I involve them in the process, I show them each time I cut it and they, let me know if they want to go shorter and shorter. That way, your communication is good and you never cut too short and they leave happy with extensions. I always tell other stylists: don't let your client leave without cutting it? If you let your client leave without cutting the extensions, your work is unfinished and they're gon na go around saying that you did that in it's unfinished. You always have to cut a little bit to blend, at least in the front and add some layers in the back just to blend the hair. If you just throw the extensions in it's gon na look really fake and something is going to look off and people notice that so, as you can see at the end of the cut, we ended up. Cutting off about four inches of hair Nancy wanted this, because she wanted the extensions to be a little noticeably longer, but not so noticeable that everybody knew right away that she got extensions. So this is the link she wanted and I'm gon na show you how I curled the hair with the flatiron just because I don't really have a video on that. Yet so I figure I'll throw it in whenever I can, but I can assure you there is a video on flat ironing making curls coming soon you so that's about it. Those are how Nancy's extensions turned out, you'll see a before and after photo at the end of this video, and you can always go to my website to look at prices, other videos and other before-and-after photos. soulilala: Its true. You can keep them in for a LONG time. I've had amazing high quality installed. I kept mine in for 6 months! Hair was still smooth, no tangles and because I was so careful with them I had no 'dreading'. I couldve kept them in for a lot longer but my hair grows so quickly that the bonds were so far down the shaft of my hair that they would show. So I agree! 6-8months! :)

LaurMitMom: Thank you for making these videos and sharing your expertise.

K.D. Nava: This was very educational. Thanx so much,it will definately help me decide which method to use to have my new extensions put in. Thanx a bunch!!!!!!

cinnamonswirls: Great video can you do one showing removal? Also can you remove and reapply on the same day? Many thanks ;)

Melissa Money: It looks great!!!!

Benita Kavanagh: Really nice,great job.:)

elizabeth bullock: which are best extensions? these type or micro loop ? thankyou elizabeth

Jessica Kiernan: can you die the hair with the shrink beads attached?

FlawlessImperfectio1: @NMMinc where can you get the supplies and how much?

Ask Geisha sticker Shop: i dont use shampoo or conditioner, i use Wen so do i need to worry when i wash my glued in hair extensions?

Hair Extensions by Nikki: @apardoe870 it is completely fine to leave shrinkies in for 8 months as long as the person did them right and you take care of your hair right.

Its Michaela: really good job

Yvette Nunez: what would be price range for getting this type of extension done by a professional???

Julie Collazo: where did you get those fusion keratin beads I can't find them any where

Hair Extensions by Nikki: if you take care of them right, they will not break off. i give my clients a care sheet after they leave the salon. they follow the care sheet and majority of my clients come in every 8 months to re-do their shrinkies. shrinkies are a lot different than regular fusion extensions. in 8 months, their hair usually has 4 inches of growth with no breakage or damage do to my care sheet that i provide to my clients. if extensions are taken care of properly, they can be left in for a long time.

Alpha Male: Good Video!

FlawlessImperfectio1: @ NMMinc where can you get the supplies and how much?

funny muffler: how much do these even cost

Peaches: If you were paying attention...that's what the customer wanted.

HotPinkFantasy: No way, will any regular person be able to take care of extensions properly for 8 mo, that is just absurd! 4-5 mo is the absolute max for ANY TYPE of hair extension simply bcz of hair growth. After 10 weeks of wear there is 1 In of growth at which point the roots will start to tangle, not the ends. Also 100 strands is nowhere near enough for a full head. Not to mention that the extensions are totally noticeable and curling them will only partially hide that. I'm sorry but this was not a good job.

Natalia Rose: How much though like a grand huh

Sophie Clark: Nano all the way don't like these
