I thought it would be fun to show you what my hair looks like after taking my hair extensions out! I wanted to show you all how long my hair is, after having extensions in for 6 months! And give you a review and comparison of all the different extension types I've had, from: tape in extensions, micro bead extensions and bonded extensions. These are not clip in extensions, which I've tried, but they are too temporary.

The best extensions I've tried so far have been the micro bead extensions. They look the most real, for updos, or just wearing a long hairstyle. The cons are they take much longer to put in. The tape in extensions are very fast to apply, so I see why hairstylists would like them, but they do not look as real and you see them if you put your hair up. It is also almost impossible to get your hair into an updo hairstyle, because of the strips of tape, and tons of my hair was pulled out in the removal, which the remover is basically just nail polish remover (acetone). The bonded extensions also damaged my hair in the removal. I've worn the micro beads for months now, and my hair is in great shape when they come out.

I hope this video was helpful and answered your questions you guys tweeted me! Huge hugs and even huger hair with my extensions in! ha ha ha

DISCLAIMER: No one paid me to get my hair done. I totally paid for my hair to get done. And it was worthy every penny.

If anyone wants to know, I have my hair extensions done by with the micro beads by my friend, Nikki Mitchell at Platinum Salon: 775-884-1001

Hi guys, i am here with a pretty fun video, because i'm going to take all my extensions out and show you what my hair looks like underneath all of this fake red arielish hair that i love. So i'm going to show you guys taking them out what my hair looks like and then, after that, i'm going to answer some questions for you guys that you guys had about um extensions on twitter and stuff like do they hurt what kind you have? How do you take care of them i'll give you my review of extension, fake hairness and what mine are all those kind of things, so it's gon na be super fun and exciting to see what my, how long my hair is underneath here, if you guys don't Know when you're new to candyland a few years ago, i cut all my hair off. I i don't know i just out of a blue. It was like this long. I just cut it off like boy short and i bleached it blonde and had it pink and green and blue and all different colors, and then, after, like a couple years of that, like accidental me cutting it short all the time it was never growing. I was like i just want to extend in somewhere. I just want long hair to do this with and then um. I asked everybody, i'm like you can't have extension, so your hair is down to your shoulders, and mine was like literally still up here near my ears, and i had one friend that was like. Oh, yes, we can put extensions in your hair. We are gon na. Do it, and so i've had them ever since it's been like six or seven months, maybe i want to say - and i just love them, but i'm gon na show you guys taking them out and answer all your questions and give you reviews about extension-ness. So, let's go see me taking all these babies out. The first thing that i should, let you guys know is the extensions i have are like these little they're like little black beads, that get smashed down onto your hair. I had the tape in kinds, and i didn't like those because when you put your hair up or you or it start to grow out a little bit, it looked really fake and like the tapes would be. The corners would be poking out. So these for me look much more real and then the beads get smashed down so they're kind of flat on your head, which i like because i think, like maybe other techniques, may hurt your head a little bit more. So these are the extensions i do and then what you do to take them out. You can just take like these little jewelry pliers and i will show you with the first one, so they're smashed one direction like they're flat and then i'm just going to take this and smash them in the opposite direction and then ta-dah. There is one of them out, so i don't know how long this is going to take to get them all out. But i think there's like a couple hundred, maybe in my hair, but i'm going to show you what my real hair looks like underneath here and then i'll show you at the end what it looks like with the extensions put back in. So i'm going to be doing this for a minute, so it is now almost one in the morning i have this much hair left. It has taken me 10, 30, 11, 30, 12, 30, almost two and a half hours to get this out of my hair. Look at you can see some of my short hair. This is taking forever look at all this hair. The good news is on the end of these little beads. That is a little crimpy guy that you have to smash and then the little bead just slides off, and then your hair was with this bead smashed in here. So when you take this off, none of my hair is being damaged or coming off at all. This is just taking forever okay, so this is my short hair without any of the extensions - and this is, i will show you all the hair on my table and then we will see tomorrow we getting it out, i don't know, should i get the extensions back In i can't decide, should i leave it like this and then putting it back in, but i am so tired and i want to go to bed, and this is. I haven't seen my short hair in like six months. I mean - i guess it was up to here, so it's grown a little but not enough. Okay, so don't judge my beautiful makeup table, but here are all the extensions. Those are the little bead guys that just gets smashed and taken me forever to get out. Okay - and this is what it looked like after i got my extensions put back in and died, so the process to do that is um for this red color, especially if they have to lighten my roots a little bit. Then she dyes it with pravana red all over, so it gets very bright and glowy, and then she does redken 6r, which is a little shade darker around like my hairline. So it gives it like some more depth and dimension, and then she puts all the extensions back in which i love. The longest part is like the dyeing. It is really takes the most time and then taking them out, but i already took them out for her. So i'm gon na go through some questions and things and go over the three different types of extensions that i have had. So i've had the tape in the bonded kind and then these little the micro beads the little tubes that smashed these are not the kind where, like you, get your hair, braided and then sewn in these are just clipped onto my hair. Like i showed you when i was taking them out, so the first one i had was the tape, ins and um the good thing about those. Is they go in really quickly, but that's about it because, after that, it's like a big strip. So all this all, your chunk of hair is like attached in one big strip, so it doesn't move like natural hair because it's like this big strip that just stays in place. So it doesn't look as natural and then, when you take them out the adhesive remover to get them out. It is so damaging to your hair, like hair was just coming out in chunks, and it was not hair that was shed from my head, like the roots. Were still attached to it and then you have to get all the adhesive the glue this goo out of your hair. It is. It smells like you're using nail polish remover to melt your hair, it's awful drying and horrible, so the tape is going really fast, which is great but awful, every other. You can't put your hair up because you see the tape it's awful. The next one was the the fusion ones or i don't know what they're called little glue like fusion kind of ones, those hurt, because they feel like little round beads just smashing into your head and then again taking those guys out was horrible. Like again so much hair roots from the scalp coming out in the hair, very damaging those are the worst ones ever and then my friend was like: let's try these micro bead ones. I was like i don't want them to hurt, like the like. The fusion ones hurt the little beads i couldn't lay down and then these little tubes they smash so they're like flat against your head. So of course they hurt a little bit but not like the other ones um. So any any of the extensions off like the first few days, totally hurt your head like it feels like when you get your hair braided or you have it up in a ponytail and then when you take it out and your scalp just feels sore. That'S what the extensions feel but then like no matter what they are when you lay on them. It just feels like a little uncomfortable at first, so, like i'd, be sleeping with my arm like this, so my face was just like on my arm to sleep and my head wasn't touching anything so my recommendations are get a very poofy pill. That'S very fluffy! So your head can just like not really feel all the weight but just be fluff and comfortable. But after like three or four days, then you're totally fine you're. Just like oh you don't even think about it anymore. People ask: how often do you get them changed or done so you want to do them every six weeks. Some people go two months, but i feel like that's way too long. I went too many weeks over and then where the bead grows up until your scalp, your hair starts to grow out. So when you wash your hair or you sleep on it, it just kind of starts matting up and can get like a dreadlock dreadlock matte like against your scalp, so that's kind of kind of yucky, so i like for them to stay. Looking good try to do it like every four weeks and then with these i can put my hair up in an updo, a ponytail anything it does not hurt. You can't do that with the tapes, though um, so it's super easy and great. That way. How do i get them to look perfect? You just blow dry them and style them like normal, but what i do is, i will mostly dry them by hand like just with a blow dryer like this and then once it's pretty dry, then i'll go in with like my round brush and kind of straighten Them out as much as i can, then you can curl them straighten them, whatever, like normal hair or sometimes i've had like my hair blown like a blow-dry bar, and i will just hold that hold it at my scalp, so it doesn't pull on it and then They'Ll use the round brush, i'm like don't pull them out. So that is one thing you have to be careful of. How often do you wash them? You can wash them every day if you want. I do it like every two days or every three days, just because i don't want all my red hair color to come out and be super faded. So, like every other day, i wash it for sure unless it's like sweaty and gross - and i just have to wash it again um what length are my extensions. I think these are 18 inch. I don't know they're they're, pretty long um. How do you keep them? Looking healthy does dyeing and heat products dry them out. Yes, heat products will dry them out, they're, just like normal hair, so it can get damaged too, but i just use normal styling products. The thing you do want to avoid, especially if you have the bond or the tape is any um, shampoo or conditioner with sulfates, because the sulfates will break down the bonds and the glue and they're also bad for your hair color. So you have to use sulfate free, shampoo and conditioner for sure um. How much does it cost? This varies on hair stylist, because each one each length each color, each hair stylist - is totally different. So that's hard to guess, um and how do you cut extensions into your hair and a good way to label them? So you know where each sits on your scalp. Well, she just puts them in first, and i don't know if you can zoom in and you can see that's what they look like right there and then then she just cut you just cut them like normal hair, like it's just growing normal hair on your head, But i reuse these so when i go get my redone, we take these out. I step we separate them into like the long and the short pieces. So then she'll put all the long ones back in and then we'll put all the short ones up near my face and then she'll like re-trim them again. So it looks like i had a fresh haircut like it's my real hair growing out how to clean them. You just shampoo and wash them like normal hair um and do they hurt. We already went over the hurt part, no i'm totally used to them. Now, like i can tap my head, i can style them, you can switch them either way. This part is just my normal hair and then they just are down along this way and i love them like when she took them out. I was like oh, i could keep my hair short like this, but i'm like, but i really love the long. The long hair is so fun. I just love it. I don't know how long i will keep them in probably till they grow until my hair could get to here it's here, but it's like a weird shaggy haircut, so i got short pieces. It just looks like a big poof ball, so i want it all to be like a little longer. So, who knows maybe another six months i kind of want to do it dark, i'm not really sure, but that is my whole extension experience and it's totally fake hair. But i don't it just feels like it's my hair. After a while - and i think that it looks pretty real like to me - i'm like this is my long hair, even though it's really hot but um, let me know if you guys want me to do any more reviews of anything else, any other hair colors. You think i should try, i'm thinking, maybe just kind of some fun ombre and then, like my my old, normal dark hair or i really like blonde, but i'm just going to fry my hair and it's gon na all fluff off my head. I want to keep it on my head, so it grows long again, um, but i i hope you guys love this, and if you have any other questions, i will try to answer them in the comments below and stay tuned for. More of my everyday princess looks um. You can see more pictures of me and my hair and everything all over twitter, instagram, snapchat facebook buying dangerous blah all over the internet. DDelilahM: kandee dont put them back in... embrace this stage of your hair growing out...it looks so nice on you

Laura Neuzeth: Your short hair looks adorable, Kandee! It's growing out quite nicely. :-) In 2 or 3 months you'll probably have it on your shoulders. I say embrace the short hair (if you want, if not the long hair also looks amazing) <3

Jess Geromella: Hahhaa i love that kandee always seems to have swatches on her hand, the life of a true makeup lover :D

Emz Ann: Ohh thank you so much for doing such an in depth video! I've been really interested in getting extensions for the longest time, but I'm too scared to ruin my hair! The beads sound amazing! I am definitely going to look into it :) You look beautiful and your personality shines from within! I love you Kandee!! <3

Lina Meander: I've had these kind of extensions for about a week now and that part about how it feels like when you've had a ponytail is just so spot on. That feeling went away for me about two days ago and I'm so happy it did, now I can barely feel them. My hair is blue dyed with semi permanent hair color so I pretty much do the exact same things that you do regarding to washing and so on, best extensions you can get I feel like! :)

Allison M: I love that you are so truthful. That's what I look for when I watch someone's YouTube. You are an inspiration to anyone that is in the makeup, esthetics industry or anyone in general. Thanks for being yourself. You make it easier for me to be who I am.

Claudia Celia: Kandee, im so glad my friend introduced me to you! You have such a sweet personality, and kind heart. You make me smile everyday. Your so talented in all that you do! I love you soooo much!xoxo

Katerina Williams: Kandee you look so good with natural short hair!! :) I prefer your short hair! But obviously it's your head so you do what you like <3

MsAshley: you always make it a joy to watch your videos, and put a smile on my face! love ya!!

MsBibiMuneca: Girl you make me want to go red and add extensions! I am trying to grow out my pixie also, but my hair is slightly more cropped shorter at the top. I was considering tape ins or these beads. So I guess beads it is! Thanks Kandee XO

Jordan Cozine: You are such a sweet and kind person Kandee♡ I love watching your videos, they always brighten up my day and make me feel the same joy I always felt as a child. Your videos make me feel so happy, and feel so positive, and I love that your so creative and expressive and fun. I think you look amazing with red hair, and if you want to go blonde theres a treatment that you can use that disnt damage your hair. I think its called Olaplex? Im not sure..... But anyways, you look so beautiful.

Paperwing: +Kandee Johnson I love watching your videos. Your personality and energy makes me smile and your reminder to love ourselves at the end always makes me stop and think that I'm too hard on myself. Thank you!

Olivia Irvin: Kandee you are a part of my family. I came across your vids when my cousin had her sweet sixteen and I searched "80s themed outfits" this was the first time I ever saw a makeup tutorial. I soon began looking at all of your videos and that was about four years ago. I love them so much and I love you. Every night my mom and I would lay down on her bed and watch a video or two of yours. Now even though I am grown we still do. Best wishes and lots of love :)

Victoria Hansen: I love your short hair!! Let it stay short!!

Carolyn Clarke: Hi Kandee Great video, looking gorgeous as always Another VERY important thing to mention is that if you have bonded or "glued" in extensions ,is to never use any products with Silicone in them ,or silicone derivatives. A lot of conditioners and leave ins ,especially drops contain silicone, dimethicone...basically anything in the ingredients list that ends in "one" is a big no no. It breaks down the bonding agent or glue and they'll come out. Extensions get tangled very easily so we grab for all kinds of stuff to smooth it out but just make sure the products you use are safe for your extensions. I'm a hairstylist and I couldn't stand having them myself. My scalp is way too sensitive but when I was trained to do them, silicone was a no no but they didn't tell us that silicone comes under various names. Dimethicone being the most obvious off the top of my head. Hope this was helpful

Ingridlosneslokken: You look beautiful with every hair length and style, but I actually loved the length of your real hair (when you took the extension out) ☺️❤️

Brittany L: You're so positive and beautiful and amazing, I love watching your videos. They always make me feel so happy!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Jade Alice: Kandee can pull off any hair style! She looks good with anything, I envy her for that! So beautiful!

PrettyPistol86: Ah man...I know you really enjoy the long hair (& I totally get it, cuz I've grown my hair out a handful of times in my life from SUPER short pixie cuts back to past the shoulders) but I dunno, your short shaggy cut has a *really* nice edgy vibe to it ;)

lattesdarling: I LOVE SEEING YOUR EXTENSION VIDEOS!!! I feel like creepy curious cat saying that, but it's true, it's so much fun!!! hahaha <3

Caroline: I love the natural length!!! It makes your hair look so thick and so beautiful.

JustDeyaaa: you literally look gorgeous with every single hair color!

Fannie Melander: I think you should dye it very dark/black at the top, with a lighter brown ombre! Dark hair looks so gorgeous on you, like in the Jasmine video! xo

Southern Heat Candle Co.: I actually really LOVE LOVE LOVE your natural hair better!! The length and choppiness is so cute!! And it's only "puffy" because you just took all those extensions out, once you brush and straighten it, it would look sooo good!!

Ashley Roark: I think your hair looks super cute at that length! If I were you, I would forget extensions, and just let it grow out from that length! You could totally rock it. Plus, it seems like it would be a lotttt easier on ya, hahaha. Love youuus!

The U in Beauty: you look good with your hair in so many ways every hair style you've had I've loved

chiquitalatinafun: I love how adventurous you are with your hair. You are bold and brave!

janehalloran: Your short hair looks so cute!

The hair is beautiful and it would recommend it to any one who asks. I wore it for my 21st Birthday and the compliments kept coming all night!

Mari-Liis Viet: I just have to say - you inspired me to color my hair red :). I have wanted this to do for a long time but didn't have the courage. But you said in one video that there are always people, who say something negative to us. :) I like it and that is most important. Thank you! I have never met you but you have made my days more than some of my friends. You really are my virtual best friend. I woud really like to give you a huge hug! :) Thank you for beering here!

Marlstarl87: Wow, I didn't think having extensions was that much effort! Well, your hair is beautiful though, and it's nice that you love it so much! :D

Emily's Life: You look so good and pretty with short hair, you really suit it! I love it haha

Shaayna Tiwari: Your short hair look amazing!! I honestly love it!!

Lenalight: Kandee, just a thought, have you ever given it thought to try the inversion method for growing out your hair? Massaging almond oil (or olive oil, castor oil, etc) when your hair is flipped over. Just an idea. I swear by it and my hair grew two inches in four days. No lie. It won't hurt to try. :) P.S. Please wash your hair very well with shampoo after. And more directions can be found on Youtube or Google.

NiNa Mlivic: This was so helpful, thank you so much ;) I am getting mine in on Monday and I am super excited

Laura Ashton: Kandee you are great and I love your videos and now I want extensions. Also on a side note, you made me brave enough to try fake eyelashes

foosheezoo: Your natural hair length looks wonderful, I love it! And I love you bunches only thing that bothered me like 1% is that the camera kept coming in and out of focus

Meghan Double: I really like how you look without the extensions but what you feel most confident in. I love you girl

AnythingJessica: All those hair colours look awesome on you! I don't think I would ever be brave enough to try any of them! :p

~Life With Lulani~: I love your short hair, i love how its choppy in the middle very rock and roll

msori12345: Your hair looks so cute short :) but I also really like the extensions. Either way it looks really good!

Susan McVey: I love it!  I go between blonde and red on myself and right now, my color is like yours.  It is such a fun color, people either love it or hate it; BUT with that said I agree , I'm hesitant to go back to blonde b/c it FRIES your hair!  QUESTION: HAVE YOU EVER USED THE CLIP IN HAIR EXTENSIONS?  Like the ones sold at Sally?  I've tried everything (except tape) and those actually seem to really work great for me.  What's your thoughts on those?

Frankie Curry: Omg your hair at its natural length looks soooooo good on you!!!

Becca Aylott: Kandee, you can pull just about anything off. I think your natural short hair is ADORABLE!!! :-)

Mia Kapetanakis: I love your short hair sooooo much!!!!

aryana j: I loved the way your hair looked when you took out your extensions. ♥♥♥

Sissi the German: Wow, I can't believe you put them in again! Didn't it feel so freeing to have them out? I couldn't imagine having any kind of extensions in for that long. You look really cute with the long red hair but I'm just thinking it must be so uncomfortable. I think the short blonde hair was also stunning! ❤️

Emma can't come up with a creative username: I actually think the way your hair naturally looked after you took out the extensions looks really good. :) You're lucky you can pull off short hair. I'd have my hair short but it's too thick. It would be really...interesting... and I'd have to straighten it every day.

RainbowVanity94: I've had a load of different extensions as well. Always thought microweft was my fav. Due to having short hair like you. Loved this video. You look so pretty!

Oez: so pretty without the extensions !! :D

duncandy: Started from the bottom now you're hair... xo

Cas: Kandee, your short hair is so cute at the length it is now! I love it and you look so cute with that length!

Peps: I actually really like your hair without the extensions at the length it is. It frames your face quite nice. :)

corganic: I think that shorter length of hair was SO CUTE on you! You should really think of just leaving the extensions out one day and letting your hair grow normally! Honestly the shorter hair looks gorgeous! ^^

Rebecca Jeffery: I've never seen those bead extensions! Very cool and they really do look natural! Thanks for sharing :)

MIS CUENTOS: Keep it natural color with no extensions.
