You know everything's all right, hey guys and welcome back to another vlogmas video. Today'S vlogmas video is actually going to be a hair care routine. Since I filmed me getting my new extensions a few days ago, I have gotten a flood of questions about my extensions. How I maintain them, how I wash my hair, how I style it like literally everything, so that's what today's video is going to be it's gon na, be all about that I'm actually about to wash my hair so the first time I've washed it. Since I got my extensions last Friday, today's Tuesday um, so I usually go four days - five days is really my Max. I don't want to go over that, because the oils can actually loosen up your extensions. That'S why you're not allowed to put any conditioner at the root where your extension is because it can loosen up. That'S happened to me twice before um, so I really don't like to go past that plus my hair starts to get, or my scalp, I should say, starts to get really dry, flaky and itchy I'll. Just be completely honest with you guys so, like I said, this is gon na, be the first time washing it since getting my extensions which usually they blend in a little bit better once you wash your hair after getting your extension like, I just noticed that my Hair didn't look as Blended if that makes sense. It'S just like when you get a haircut, it's gon na look, you know very choppy and sharp until you wash it it's gon na look a little bit more Blended in so that's kind of like the best bit. Explain it when it comes to extensions, my hair is really nasty right. Now it's very oily and I can tell I haven't washed it a little bit because it just feels dirty. I usually I wash it at night, but I'm actually changing up my hair care routine, because before I wasn't blow drying my hair and my hair stylist said Brittany. You need to start blow drying your hair in your extensions and also to stop using a straightener. That'S another thing: she says, because it's pulling out all the moisture and basically what she said is when I wash my hair at night. I put all the products in and everything and then I lay down and go to bed the sheets and everything is soaking up. All that product and moisture sure and she recommends blow drying from now on, so I'm going to take her advice because obviously I want to take care of my natural hair, but also maintain my extensions because they do last a whole year. They'Re not cheap, and I want to take good care of them. So that's why I spend a lot of money on products. I take the extra time to wash my hair because I do have to wash my hair twice with shampoo. It'S a whole process. It'S a little high maintenance having extensions is high maintenance. So if you get extensions or if you already have them, you know that they're very high maintenance, but if you're wanting them just go into it, snowing it's going to take a little bit longer and they are definitely a lot to maintain and I realize I've never Showed you guys what they look like, so I just first wanted to say: I have three rows of extensions, so let me just go ahead and show you guys what they look like um. Let me see I'm trying to get my hair there we go. I think this is the middle row right here. Hopefully, the camera is focused, here's the middle row. So with that being said, and the reason why I'm also showing this to you is because when I have to wash my hair, I do have to go in between each Rose like in my hair and wash gently of course, because I just got them sewn in So they're to my scalp and my husband tender for a few days that definitely wears off within a couple days. I still don't want to be super rough because I don't want to tug on my roots or my natural hair, but I do go in and wash it really really well and that's why I also shampoo my hair twice. Well, I've heard that, even if you don't have extensions, you should shampoo your hair twice to get rid of all the oils, build up all the dry skin and it just really cleanses your hair anyways, like I know some friends who don't have extensions and they wash Their hair twice, so let me go ahead and show you guys the shampoo and conditioner I use. I actually use two different kinds or I've been using two different kinds, but let me me show you the one that I've been using recently. So this is the shampoo that I use the Nexus brand clean and pure. It is a nourishing detox shampoo, it's protein fusion, with elastin protein and Marine minerals. So I get like a big bottle at Target and this lasts me for probably say like a month and a half, because I do go like four or five days without washing my hair and as you can tell, I have more conditioner than I did shampoo, because I do have to wash my hair twice, but it's basically the same thing as the shampoo just in conditioner form, so I'm actually going to go ahead and turn on the shower, get the water warmed up and start washing my hair. I also realized that I have some new stuff in my teeth the whole time, and I really hope that it would show up on camera. Thank you, foreign. Thank you all right, so I just got done washing my hair. I tried to rig out as much as I could, and you guys saw me put the towel over my head to help a little bit more, but now I'm going to add my products, so all the products that I'm about to show you I got at my Salon - I don't know I'm assuming, maybe you could find it online hold on this. Camera is crooked. There we go, I'm assuming you might be able to purchase it online, but every single time that I go to get my extensions moved up. I just stuck up on products that I need this brand, that I absolutely love and cannot recommend enough is Evo. I think that's how you pronounce it. So I am adding this head mistress or it is a cuticle sealer. This is my tried and true product. If you have weft extensions, you need this. This stuff is amazing. It'S called sun care, it's supposed to protect your hair from the Sun kind of like a sunscreen for your hair, but I don't know what is in this bottle. It is a literal miracle solution product. I don't know how to explain it. It literally gets any tangle out that I have in my hair. I even use this on the kids hair during the summer because it also protects their hair from chlorine, but it is just an amazing product. I love it. I always put it in my hair every single time after I wash it and then the last product I'm going to use is called love touch. It is a shine spray and this is going to help with flyaways frizz everything, because I am going to blow dry. My hair, it's also great for curls, it says and just making your hair feel super silky and looks super shiny. I'M going to first spray this all over my hair and then I'm going to use the head mistress on my roots and turn to my ends and then also this will go on the ends of my hair too. I do have two different types of extension: brushes. This is my everyday brush that I use on my hair because you will need a certain type of brush. You guys did see. I used my wet brush in the shower. I will only use on my ends, but for my roots, I use this brush. These bristle brushes and I do have a wide tooth comb that I just used to part my hair and sometimes I'll use it to get the tangles out. But I will never never ever ever use like brushes like that on your hair, because you are going to potentially risk the chance of ripping or pulling out your natural hair or extensions, and you don't want that. I actually just got this one. My last appointment to put into my purse it's a little bit more compact. There are times where my hair can get kind of tingly, especially right here, so I need a brush for that. Thank you. So now what I'm going to do is I'm just going to let my hair air dry for about 20 to 30 minutes, and then I am going to blow dry it. So I will be back in a little bit all right. So, as you can see, my hair has air dried a little bit. You can definitely tell with my natural hair guys look at that. I still have my natural curl. It'S never gone away. You guys always ask what happened to my curls they're still there and I'm hoping that my hair will get long enough, where I cannot wear the extensions, maybe in a couple years and just wear my natural hair. But it's there it's underneath there, but now I'm just going to blow dry it it's gon na get frizzy because that's what happens to my natural hair and then after that I will curl and style it foreign. So I know my hair is looking super crazy right. Now let me see if I can open this up there we go. I know my hair, I know it's looking super crazy. My natural hair does get frizzy whenever I blow dry, it um, but now I am going to style it. So, actually, what I'm going to do first, is I'm going to section off my hair. I'M gon na do pretty much like the bottom, not really bottom half, but like the first row in this bottom hair. First, I am going to curl it. So I usually just section that off like that, and then I just put my hair a little bun. So it's another way. I'Ve also been using these types of ponytails lately, I feel like it's less damaging on my hair and I just liked using a lot better than the regular hair ties, so I'm using a Hot Tools - curling wand - I don't know the size of it. If I can find the link to it, I will link it down below in the description. I think I got it from Ulta as you guys can see it Slims down towards the end. I really like the curls or the type of curls. This wand gives me, but now I'm going to go ahead and show you how I go about curling it all right. So what I'll do is? Oh then section it out like that and then just take strands of my hair. Of course you want it mixed. With extension, so it Blends whenever I curl it so just take sections like that, and then I take the wand always down or up you never want to do it sideways you're going to damage your hair. The curl is just not going to come out as cute. So what I do is, I put it all the way at the top, and then I wrap it around away from my face. That was really random. The showers dumped out a whole bunch of water, so wait for my face and then I'll hold it for about five to ten seconds release it, but I also catch it and then I'll. Let it go, and also I forgot to mention I'll leave a little bit of space at the bottom. I kind of like my ends to be more straight. Let me show you guys again. Let me grab another section. Surprisingly, my hair fits all on the wand. I was nervous that it wasn't going to fit, but it does um so, like I said, obviously about three inches at the bottom: catch my hair release and that's it so I'm gon na go ahead and do this bottom layer and then we're going to start working On the rest later so, like you guys just saw, I then split my hair down the middle. This way - and I just put this section in a ponytail, so I could work on this section first and then once I'm done over here. I'Ll then work over here, but I'm basically just going to do the same thing holding my wand upside down like this wrapping, my hair. There we go that way grabbing and then releasing so we're gon na do a long time lapse of me. Curling my hair um. I was going to say that the curls look super tight right now, but it has like gravity takes place and I kind of loosened them up a little bit. They'Re gon na be more wavy and not so much a tighter curl foreign. So as soon as I got done, curling my hair, I had to hurry and go get the kids. I didn't even have time to put any product hairspray, nothing in my hair, so I wanted to show you guys really quickly. The products that I put in my hair after I get done styling it. So the first thing I'm going to do is this hydrating potion. This is the same brand as that sun care organ ethic, and then I sometimes will add this hydrating shiny spray. A little bit goes a long way because it will make your hair super super shiny, almost greasy like so literally only like a couple Spritz and you're good, and then I literally use the most basic hairspray ever, but it does the job. I love it. It'S probably not the best. I probably should get like a salon grade product but um. It'S just the Tresemme freeze hold hairspray, has 24 hour frizz control, and I also wanted to show this product because it's a new product that my hairstyle is recommended. I think it's called Inca Gold. I think that's the brand, it's an anti-aging hair Mist, but it's for Hair, Shine, healthy hair, renew, revive and restore, and she said that she because she also has extensions. She said she will put a couple sprays on each side of her hair at night and her hair is like super silky and soft in the morning. So I use this or I've been using this well. I guess I've only used it a couple times, but I'm going to use it from now on at night, but let me go ahead. Add a little bit of the serum again. A little bit goes a long way. I just take one little drop and rub it through my hair, and I start with my ends first and kind of work myself up, because you guys know I showed you my natural hair, a little bit more on the frizzier side, since I do have that curl In my hair and my hair is kind of fine too actually not kind of fine, it is fine. I have a lot of little flyaways from where my hair has been regrowing and then I'll just do a couple sprays of this that side, by the way George is in here right now, Georgie come here. She got her hair washed yesterday, so she's all nice and clean and smelling clean. So after I'm done with that, I'm just going to lightly put some hairspray. I kind of pull my hair out a little bit just to give it a little bit more volume and also to make sure I get all the pieces. What I do, since my bangs are kind of short, because I'll kind of just kind of blend them in a little bit with my hair like that and then spray it so it'll stay, do it with the same. So here super hard because I'm using the viewfinder as my mirror right now: okay, there we go all right, so let me show you guys the back and how the curls turn out and how well these extensions blended with my hair, because you guys know my hair Is on the shorter end, and just for contrast, you can see how well they blend in and then, like I told you guys the way I maintain it is I'll. Add that spray every single night add some of the shine spray or the hydrating shiny spray as needed, and then the hydrating potion maybe add a little bit more hairspray. And then my hair is usually good for the next four. Maybe five days depending I've had to train my scalp to be like this. It took some time, but usually I don't have to re-curl it. Maybe a few pieces I'll just go in touch it up a little bit and then for the most part like after we get to this point. It'S not as high maintenance as it is initially when you have to wash and then style it and do all of that stuff. So this is the final result. I am loving these new extensions. I forgot how soft they are over time. They get less and less soft or more coarse, so that is my official hair care routine. I hope that you guys enjoyed this video. I hope you guys learned a little bit more, even if you don't have extensions or if you do have extensions, maybe I taught you something new, I'm still learning, even though I've had them for almost two years. I feel like I learned something new about them: different methods, different products, everything um, so if you guys do have any questions, definitely leave those down there and I will get back to you as soon as I can. But again, thank you guys so much for watching watching. I hope that you guys enjoyed today's video and I will see you tomorrow.

melanie true: Just curious how your natural hair is so short now? Did you cut it short and all the breakage off before getting the extensions? Or is the breakage and short hairs due to the actual extensions?

TheSFamily: I’m supposed to get extensions next month. I’m excited! How much does your stylist charge for hair, installation and color? Just curious! Also what’s the length of your hair extensions?

Vonda Lain: Also switch to silk pillowcases. It is better for your skin and your hair.

Worldtravelerxoxo: I had extensions but only 2 rows and they were a pain in the butt when I worked out. I do a lot of running and HIIT strength training. They kept slipping due to my thin hair and intense workouts. They were cute for my wedding but super high maintenance and I’m glad they are gone

doxie: omg i am wanting to get extensions and this video made it seem less daunting! Thank you! :D

Danielle Nims: I’ve been wanting to get hair extensions in my hair because I’m a bridesmaid for my cousin’s wedding in October I just don’t know which type of hair extension especially of the cost. Your hair is beautiful with extensions!

Cynthia Laplante: Im watching this on a hair washing day. Brb this made me want to go scrub my scalp asap

Sandee S: I work in healthcare and ever since the pandemic I think stress took a toll on my hair. It’s so thin now. I would love extensions, but I’m wondering how pricy they are?

melanie true: I have noticed before your girls go to bed with wet hair and wondered about that, because I had always heard you should never go to bed with wet hair… my mom always blow dried mine and my sisters when we were little (on cool air)

Shelbie’sStory: It’s funny hearing you talk about extensions. Of course being a black women we call it a sew in but it’s good to see you learning.

Pandora victoria: The moroccan oil hair spray is so hydrating for the hair. Don't skimp on the professional hair spray drug store spray will dry out your hair

sm.: Just random tip you should straighten your real hair before you curl it so it blends better with the extensions.

Zodiacbeautyyy: I actually install extension and I learned a lot

Chase Bennett: can you please do a slick straight low ponytail tutorial with a ton of hairspray?

TotalVamP: I have really thin straight hair and I had surgery in June and have started loosing so much hair now it's so thin.

Jamie: Love your hair!! ❤️

Chelsea Pretto: Thank you for this ! May I ask how do you sleep in them at night ?

Witchy Woman: Hey Brit i wanted to let you know that the audio volume on your intro/outro and any music in between, is just a little too loud. Even when you're not in the bathroom, the segments of you speaking are really low in volume compared to the music that cuts in. Im sure you're aware and im not trying to be rude. Id wamt someone to tell me, if it were me putting in all the hard work making these videos.

Charlieeh Stephenson: Use silk or satin hair bands instead and sleep on a silk or satin pillow case

Sharan Virdee: Nooo I’m sorry I don’t even have the patience for all this But you hair is gorgeous

Pandora victoria: I used to go to sleep on a wet head of hair aswell stopping made a huge difference because when our hair is wet it is at its weakest stage and the friction from sleeping causes frizz and breakage especially those that use a cotton pillow case my girls and I use a satin pillow case it helps a bunch

Megan Lee: how come you wear hair extentions ? I like your natural hair its so pretty

Zenia Carolina: Your hair is absolutely gorgeous they look so good

Pandora victoria: Did you use a micro fiber towel on your hair looked like it if not you have to it helps with friction from regular towels and absorbs water so good. My girls and I got the wrap type on Amazon it really makes a difference and there is less pulling at the hairline and roots then a towel so its way gentler

Destiny Palin: Love you ❤️❤️❤️

Pandora victoria: Britney you should sleep on a silk or satin pillow case it helps maintain moisture in hair and skin

Pandora victoria: Britney I think you would love moroccan oil hair spray my daughter with curly coarse hair loves it. I have fine hair and love the kenra volume/ texture hair spray

Marlene Naranjo: I would recommend the blowdryer brush. Your hair will not get frizzy & with practice you can even curl your hair.

Alexis Burton: I’ve been waiting for this one!!!

Seerie Johnson: I love you hair! I really want extensions! I do think your stylist should dye your hair to match your extensions better. Your natural hair seems to be more cool tone dark brown and the extensions a warmer tone. So beautiful though!

Tiffany Nathaniel: Im not trying to be a troll or anything but I actually don’t think they blend in well at all for that amount of money I shouldn’t be able to tell you have extensions

Arianna lives life: I use a microfiber hair towel

MJ: Love it❤hey I was thinking the other day, does your sister still have here channel? Happy holidays

Gabby Clark: Yay the second ❤I have more free time because of break

Vanessa Lopez: Yayyy first one
