Foiling With Extensions || Hair Tutorial

This is how I usually highlight when my client has bonded or fusion hair extensions in. If you would like to see an extension tutorial let me know!

Hi guys welcome back to my channel so today, I'm gon na do another foil technique, and this is with extensions. So this is my client Laura. She has bonded extension bonded extensions in during this video and then the pictures at the end are from like a couple of days later, when we put her tape and extensions in so she has bonded ones in this video and then she has tape ins in on The picture in the pictures, but both extensions, are from Donna, Bella hair, and I really like this hair, it's natural hair and its really good, so you can color this. You can tone this whatever, so this spoil technique is kind of how I do a highlight, avoiding the extensions, because bonded extensions can get a little and they can get a little tangley towards the end. So this is like, like we switched her extensions out like a week later, so there it's right near the end, and so it does get a little tangle here, but this is how you can do it with avoiding the extensions almost all together. Ok, so what I do is just kind of the same thing as I did in my white blonde color. So it's just going up the back a little bit all the way to about the round of the head like. If you were putting your hand on the back of the head and right when it starts to round, you can go up there and then that is the back, I'm doing pretty fine weaves, I'm leaving out the extension. So if I come across an extension I weave it out, so I don't put it in the foil, because I don't really want to put bleach on top of the bond, because I can make the bond weaker and then the extension can fall out. So that is not what I want to happen. I want her to keep the extensions in until we switch them in a couple days. So now I'm going to the side - and I do the same thing on each side so you'll see it twice. I think, and I'm going almost parallel to the hairline, it is slightly angled and it's I'm just doing like seven foils right here, really fine weaves really close together. You want that area really bright because on the hairline, so if she pulls her hair back, it's super bright right there. Okay, here I'm doing two foils right above her ear. That'S in case, if she puts her hair half back all the way up right above the ear is going to be bright and blonde. So I do that and then I skip this whole section. Yeah see you, try got ta, try to avoid the extensions and just kind of get around the hair and then put that hair in a foil and leave. The extension of the top of the extension can look more like a low light, but it's going to be pretty hidden because you're brightening all that, and you can't see that hair inside there. So now, I'm gon na go up around her hairline. Just like this little corner area and get that I do like two foils there to get that pretty bright right against her hairline and then I'm gon na go and start. I do like two foils right at the top of this section to lay over. So you don't see this like inner piece that we didn't highlight it's kind of the same exact thing as I did on my white blond one, but I'm adding these because I wanted to be super blonde right in front. So this is kind of like the corner. Going all the way around Caroline then I split this section separate it from the top, like Mohawk section, so clip that away, and then I just put that section up because I'm going to highlight it, but I'm not yet. So I highlight this one: real, quick, fine weaves put that in there and then I do that. One that I just clipped away do that in a highlight and then I do. I go to the other side. You, okay, for the other side. Just do the same exact thing and I'll come back and I'll show you what I'm doing for the top section. Okay, so the top section you want to get that little tiny, baby, hair right in front, get that in a foil and be really careful because you don't want the foil slips. So just make sure it's in there really nice. If you have to pull it up again, that's fine and just stick it right in there I wasn't tight and then I just go straight back for a couple foils getting that hair line really nice and saturated in the foil. So I go until I'm no longer against the hairline and then I turn her and do up the sides again. So just going all the way up the sides and that's pretty much the end of the foil technique, I toned her with shades eq. I think I did know I did equal parts chrome and which is 19 and Irish cream, which I'm pretty sure is 9 and B so equal parts of that, and you have to be really careful with chrome, because chrome like takes the blonde hair like super fast. So I just had it on there for maybe 3 minutes. I just have to watch it'll turn like a gray color, because that's what Chrome's for it's beautiful, but I just wanted to to cancel out any of the yellow tones. So that is what I did you here are the end results. This is just a couple days later with her new extensions and she has the tape in ones, and I love these extensions guys make sure you follow me on instagram, at hair by lexi dawn and like subscribe and share this video and I'll see you in my Next, one bye guys

marie toupin: Beautiful! I absolutely love your videos! They are so helpful to me. I was wondering why you didn't foil the whole back? Did she want just a half head of highlight? thanks:)

Tal H: Do you go about the highlights the same way? Can you highlight over the bond?

mina Robles: que tono de tinte aplicaste.
