I don't know hey y'all and welcome back to another Vlog, it's a jaded Khadijah checking in and if you're new here don't forget to like comment and subscribe. So today I am bringing y'all a maintaining my sew-in video. So basically, I've been having this sewn in. For almost I want to say three months now, because I got it into November and of course I haven't went to the salon to get maintenance done or get it washed or tightened. But I do wash my hair at home by myself, so I wanted to give y'all a video of how I do that and how I make sure that it looks good and fresh, especially because a lot of people have been asking me about how I keep my You know leave out pretty straight, especially since I do work out in the gym a lot, so here I'm just making sure that I'm getting all of my leave out wet, especially since I have a lot of hair. Well, not a lot. A little bit of hair left out on the sides and I'm going to be using my Nexus shampoo and then my as I am Olive in tea tree oil co-wash for my leave out and that I will be using a shampoo for the leave out and the Weave as well so I like to use the co-wash on my leave out, because it's very moisturizing and for anyone, that's natural, you just know: co-washes really do bring your hair back to life, and my hair also wasn't super super dirty. It was just really just oily, but I just like to use the co-wash, because I just like how soft it makes my hair feel. So now I'm going in with my shampoo on the actual weave and I like to make sure that I actually get into my braids, because you don't want your hair stinking and you also want to make sure that your scalp is clean yeah. It is hard to get you know it clean all the way, but I do try my best and try to dig my fingers in as much as I can and it does help to myself when it's kind of loose, so it is easier to move around, but Yeah, I'm just making sure that I let that I lather all the hair up with the shampoo and that everything is just getting rinsed off and usually my first wash I just um. I don't make sure that it's super super soapy and study, but then on the second wash you'll see that all the product is actually getting in through there, a pro tip when you're washing your weave, don't wash it like how you wash your natural hair, and you Know like move your hands around try to just um, you know bring the shampoo down like basically comb through the hair with the shampoo, so that the hair isn't super nappy and that, if you brush out all the weave on accident because it's shedding because the hair Is into a knot and balls and just nappy, so please don't do that so now, here, I'm just prepping my hair just to get ready to get it blow dried and I'm just combing through to make sure that I have no knots and I like to part My hair, in the way that I'm going to straighten it and blow dry it before I blow dry, I'm going to be using my design, Essentials, heat protectant and also the chi chai. I don't know how to say it, but the infra silken Fusion serum - and this is going to basically make sure that my hair is Silky straight and that I'm protecting it from the heat that I don't damage My Curls anymore, that they are, as you can see. Yeah that damage is from a ponytail that I got last year and like I just felt like she was putting too much heat on my hair, and that was the end result but yeah. So now I'm going to be blow drying. My hair, using this brush blow. Dryer and I'm gon na have this link below, but this is honestly one of my favorite hair products, especially when I have on my natural hair out. This is the perfect blow dryer to make sure that your hair is actually blow dry straight, especially if you're going to a hair appointment. They say that you need to come with your hair bow dry straight. This is what you need, but when I'm doing my weave I'd actually use this in a regular blow dryer at the same time, because this doesn't have enough power to get to the actual braids and making sure that that's dry, so yeah, I'm just going in and Just trying to dry as much as I can and then you'll see here soon that I'll go back and forth between this blow dryer and a regular one. So you'll see here that I'm using the brush and the blow dryer at the same time to try to make sure that I'm getting it dry all the way, and this method is really helpful because it makes sure that you're drying every single strand instead of trying To blow dry one big old chunk at the same time in here, as you can see the progress it does make the blow drying process way faster than just using the regular brush blow dryer baby. One important thing to remember is make sure that the roots are dry, because if they aren't, when you start straightening your hair and then later on in the day when you go to wrap it, the hair is still going to be wet. And it's not going to make your hair as straight as it should have been. So that's what really takes the longest part of washing and blow drying the sew in to make sure that those braids are dry and that's when those you know, hooded dryers, that you sit under. Thus when those come in handy because it'll make it so much quicker. But I don't have one at home, so of course I'm doing it the old-fashioned way. So before I start straightening the hair, I add the chai serum to the ends of my hair. That'S what the direction said - and this is actually my first time using this so we'll see how it turns out. Well, actually, I know it turns out pretty good, but yeah, I'm just applying it to my leave out, especially because that needs the heat protectant. I need to be more silky. This is really good hair. This hair is from Kendra's Boutique. I think I mentioned this earlier, but this is honestly the best type of hair that I ever had like it's just so silky and after how many ever, however, many washes. I did it still comes out perfect, so yeah, I don't use too much in the hair, but mostly on my leave out foreign. As you can see, I try to straighten out my leave out first and I like to do that to make sure that after I'm done everything just Blends in, I don't know it's just a personal preference for me to straighten out my leave out before I go Ahead and start with the bundles, so here I'm just really splitting my hair up just to decide how many sections I'm going to take out to straighten and you'll see here my technique. So I like to use the comb follow through method. When I straighten out my hair, because it does just make sure that the hair is bone straight and it can be hard - sometimes I don't get it every single time, but I do try my best, I'm just letting y'all know. This is literally the best method and, of course, I'll just go over it again with the regular flat iron. But I do try to use the comb through method to make sure that it is getting all the heat in there to make sure that there's no cranks cripples curls ripples. None of that foreign. So now I'm going to be using my wax stick on my roots, and this is just a generic wax. Stick that I got from the beauty supply store, nothing really major! You can use anyone that you like, but I like to get it on the roots and I'll section out. Maybe two different parts on each side of my part and at the waxing there, so that when I go in through my flat iron and my hot combat and make sure that my part is super flat and straight so now using my hot color, I'm going to Go ahead on my roots and basically just comb through my hair a couple of times, and I don't have my hot comb on the highest heat and I just try to make sure that I'm just honestly getting the roots. I don't really care about the ends of the hair, because the flat iron is going to do all that work, but as long as the roots are straight, which, as you can see, is getting that together. That'S all that matters completely please, as you can see, I'm really only doing one and pass through my hair, because I don't need that much heat for my hair to get straight, especially after using those products. It just really Blended out perfectly fine, so yeah if you don't need that much heat, don't use that much heat and it's honestly better for your hair to not use too much anyway. So you know: what's up foreign, my hair, I'm gon na go in with my Sebastian reshaper hairspray, I'm sorry that it's upside down, but I like to use this as a Finishing Touch to my roots and to my leave out. It makes your hair smells good. It helps for frizziness and puffiness, and it just keeps your part. You know stuck in place just like how you would with a wig or something, but I like to use this as a Finishing Touch foreign part, to make sure that your hair stays straight and that is even flatter than what it is now is wrapping your hair. So after I straighten my hair, no matter where I'm going, even if I'm going out that same night, I'm gon na wrap my hair, even while I'm doing my makeup. So this is how I wrap my hair, basically just doing the wrap around method, nothing too special and after I do this, when I tell you all the next day, my hair is even more straight than it was when I first did it. So this is just really key and just make sure that everything is flat, even the weave as well foreign. Basically I just like to let it fall down, as you see here and just comb it out into place. Now, when I first unwrapped it, there was a lump in my hair on the side and it's because one of the tractors loose so that usually doesn't happen. But I did go ahead. My flat iron and basically flatten out that part next to the weft. That was kind of poofy, but, as you can see, the hair already just kind of looks silkier and then you'll see the final product here soon and I'm just making sure that my part is how it should have been because it does kind of get messed up. When you wrap it, but you just got ta fix it up again, but yeah. This is the final product. As you can see, hair is all silky and straight it's looking good. I probably need to fix my part and do a little baby hairs a little bit but yeah. I hope you all enjoyed this video, because this is what I do to make sure that my hair stays looking good, but don't forget to like comment and subscribe.
