I have created an entire playlist dedicated to my keratin hair extension videos! I know how pricey it can be to get extensions done at a salon, so I try to create videos that help you apply and take care of you extensions without having to pay the fees that come along with going to a salon. Let me know if there are any other videos you want me to create that would help you! :)

Hi everyone today I am doing another keratin hair extension video, my at-home keratin, hair extension. Video has been doing so well recently that I decided I want to do one where I give you guys my tips and tricks on how to make them last and how do not end up with a disaster like I have in this photo. Yes, not my best moment, so, if you guys want to know all my tips and how you can care for your hair extensions make them last long, because we know they're expensive and you know you don't want them ruined right away. So if you guys want to know more, just keep watching, don't forget to Like and subscribe and jump on in so for the last five years, I've had keratin hair extensions and I had them once with brown hair and four times I had blonde hair, and so I feel like I have some good knowledge in my hair. I'Ve had it where, when I take them out I've kind of damaged my hair and recently when I've been doing them, it's you take it out. My hair is very healthy. I go to the salon. I just have her, you know, do a night like a slight trim and then I you know. Obviously, if I was my hair, uh and she's complimented like she said, I wouldn't even noticed that you had extensions in because I make sure that I'm very careful when I take them out and I care for my hair the whole time. So, let's jump on into my list of how to care for them number one make sure every night you sleep with a braid in your hair. I feel, like everyone knows this already, but if you don't so the bonds, the little bonds right here know, if you guys can see them they will. You know, as you're removing your head, your head's kind of causing friction between your head and the pillow, and your hair just kind of goes all over. They will start to tangle and you'll. Also start to, like you know, when you tease your hair, a little bit will kind of feel like that, above where the bond is especially as they grow out, you're a little safer in the beginning stages. But at the end, like towards your three months like you will have a knot in your hair. If you do not like put it, I just put mine in either in two separate braids, or I just put it to the side and tie it in a nice, loose braid and just leave it like that overnight. So that is my first tip is to sleep in a braid. Always I do not use any products with oil. Do not use any products with oil gnam. I was a dummy and I wanted to buy like the best like shampoos and conditioners, that I could to make sure that my hair, you know, stayed really like moisturized, so I bought Moroccan oil, shampoo and conditioner. I am Telling You my bonds we're coming out left and right because it will just start disintegrating the bond over time. So it's not like you know straight oil like there's other stuff in that shampoo and conditioner, but they were just breaking down. We'Re like I'd, be washing my hair and all of a sudden there was an extension there's, an extension. We were all just coming out. You guys they were they've come out in class for me before, like it kind of gets like a little on my arm, and I said, you'll see like he's getting long and you're like you, shove it in your backpack. Real fast like that has happened. Oh yeah make sure you make. There is no oil if you are gon na use oil, because I know like a lot of people like to put up on the extension since they don't naturally have oils in them. You can but like do like, I would say from here down, because if you put it up near the root you're, just gon na start breaking down the bond and you're gon na regret your life trust me, oh, I think I should mention real fast. I said this in my last full think via video I already filmed today is going up after this one, so I've cut some bruises, but there's one of my elbow uh spare you that one, I faint it and fall off a segue. So I think I go. I'M gon na go more into detail on that on the other video, so stay tuned for my foundation review going up after this yeah. So if you're wondering why my hands look crazy, that's why I'm back to this video! Another thing not to do is don't wash them too often, I wash my extensions once maybe twice a week or my hair once maybe twice a week. You know I used dry shampoo. I put my hair in a ponytail towards the ends of the week. It will make the hair last a lot longer, every time you wash them and dry them. You are gon na start drying them out and damaging them every time he touches them. It damages them. So always keep that in mind, because, unlike your natural hair, they don't get oil, there is no way to repair them. The best I've ever done was I really wanted to reuse. My extensions, like I didn't want to by another pack, so I like left them in like olive oil for like a week and then rinse them out and they were soft again, but eventually they will go right back to the bad state. So you know just a little thing to keep in mind, wash them as little off as little as possible in like before. You get extensions. If you can start training your hair to go longer without having to you know wash it so just stock up on a ton of dry shampoo - and you will be golden now - next one is - do make sure to brush them before bed. Now we brush our hair in the morning, so that's you know good, but brush it before bed. I found that this helps them. You know at the end of the day, you know I kind of touch your hair do stuff throughout the day to get a little tangled, maybe just lightly brush through them. I like to try to make sure that all of I want to show you guys this. So that you can see what I'm talking about, I like to make sure that all of these bonds are separated from one another like. I want to make sure that no one's getting tangled there are no fights between my extensions on my head and, yes, there's a lot of them in there. There'S. Probably I only put 3 of the 5 packs in my bundles in my hair, so mines I probably have like 60 80. I don't know pieces in my hair, so I just I know it's a little bit of extra time, but just make sure that they're all separated, if you do start to feel knots, do not panic. I'M gon na touch on that in a second. So if you start feeling that and you're like getting nervous me like I'm gon na lose all my hair is gon na be in a knot, I'm gon na have to chop it off. No, I got you because I've been there. Ok, so then. My next point is: do not let your hair grow out too much before taking them out now we all want to ride out the days of lovely long, luscious hair, but there comes a day when they has to go because it has to go or your hair Is gon na go real fast? This lovely picture, which I showed you before was the result of me: why not taking care of them properly and to them growing out for probably 2 to 3 weeks too long, especially when I was in college, I had them. I had to wait till I came home or my sister came up to college to do my hair. I let them go a little longer had a maybe taken better care of him make sure. Like you know, every bond was separated every night and all that I would have been okay, but I learned that later on in life, so you know, live and learn when this happened. Well, the reason why is because, as they grow, it's gon na start getting farther and farther down your hair. This makes them a lot easier to kind of twist and turn, especially in the middle of the night, which why the braid is important and just like any friction across from your pillow and your head will just start to. You know like almost like a dreadlock like it really starts to look like a dreadlock. On top of your extension, it's a scary thing to happen. I thought I would like ruined my hair forever on what you do. You go and get some olive oil from your kitchen, and you just I put it all it on the from the root to the bond on my hair, and I let it sit if you have deep bonding gel, you can use that as well on the bonds, But definitely put the olive oil through your actual hair, cuz you're. At this point, it's your real hair, that's tangled, and that's the part that you're gon na be afraid to lose now get the de bonding job, oil or mines a gel whatever yours is put it on and take the tool. There'S a tool that releases these bonds and just gently be patient. I'M telling you you're gon na have sore hands by the end of this leg right here it starts to hurt and just on clamp each and every one slightly pull it down hold the top. Like sorry, we ran out of room on our card, but we're back and we're good so hold the top of your hair in, like gently gently gently, pulled the extension out now, you're gon na always no matter what no matter, how amazing you are taking out your Extensions there's always gon na, be I just spit, I'm so sorry, thank god, you're not really right in front of me, yeah, I'm there's always gon na, be some of your hair on it. Do not freak out your hair. Your head sheds hair. All the time like you're wrong cue fingers through your natural hair, you're gon na lose hair, but this time since it's attached like pretty much glued on it's just gon na hold on to that bond. So that's not all your hair falling out. Do not worry! We slightly pull it down and now, when you get them all out, you're gon na feel, like you had like you, teased your hair, like you're, trying to be like in an 80s going back to the 80s. It'S gon na be weird, but take like um like a bra. Any kind of brush like a comb, probably works best. It'S gon na feel all not it and you are going to just gently go like this. I got telling you it's small, strokes, small strokes and you like that, and eventually the hair will like relax and like just come back down like you'll, be able to brush it out. It'S a really long process so grab a snack. It'S a terrible thing to do. It'S not fun, you might cry. I should have few tears along the way, but your hair will be okay, then, after that, go wash your hair in deep condition. It like crazy, because your hair is probably pretty damaged at that point, and then I had to go. Get a trim from my hair stylist, because now I obviously I saved most my hair, but it was thin on the end. So I had to get it a cut. It'S okay because your hair will grow back and you can always put extensions in, but I recommend waiting, probably like two three months, so I will usually wear extensions from language October November December, so we're in through December take them out. I usually have them out January February. I couldn't for February this year. That'S my birthday, but I'll definitely take him out. For January, I at least give my my hair. Like a month, I loved you two to three months. I put him back in. I leave him in for the spring and then I take him out for summer because summer I like to swim and it's hot. He would. I don't want this much hair on me anyways and when you're sweaty you want to wash your hair law and that just doesn't work with extension, so you kind of have to work with your extensions. I mean if you live in a hot humid place all the time and you still want extensions go for it. You know I don't have the best advice for that, because that's not where I live, but you know try to keep washing it to a minimum. Do the best that you can you guys, if you guys run into a disaster, leave me a comment down below? Maybe I can help you up yeah, so if you guys enjoyed today's video, please remember to like and subscribe leaving lots of comments below letting me know. Casey Elizabeth: I recently had another HAIR EXTENSION DISASTER check out my newest video to find out what happened!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UD9vX5iQIZ8

Aurélie S: 1. Sleep in braids. 2. Don’t use products with oils on your scalp or bond area. 3. Don’t wash your extensions too often. Dry shampoo and pony tail is your best friend. 4. Make sure to brush them before sleeping. 5. Don’t panic when you notice knots. 6. Don’t keep them for too long - remember to fix them 7. Remember to buy an extension remover. - gently brush your hair and deep condition. 8. Give them a extension free time for one-three months.

Linda Kirsten: Hi! I have extremely fine and thin hair. I am getting mixed reactions from everyone about getting the extensions just to get a little more body in my hair. The cold fusion extension looks the least damaging, but what do you think about getting extensions if you already have very little hair to begin with?

JessiYates25: Hi! I love your videos! I’ve had u-tip extensions for over two years now but learned a few new tips from you! I have two questions for ya! I do wash my hair every other or every third day but I’m experiencing a lot of dryness and friziness in my extensions! I do use the Matrixx sleek but also Olaplex. Any suggestions on other products I could use to keep these from getting frizzy and dried out? Second, is there a certain brand(s) of u-tip extensions you would recommend? I have highlighted hair and was using highlighted Moresoo brand from Amazon because they match perfectly, but wondering if there are other brands out there that are better. Thanks so much for your time!!! And I think I saw you in a Penn State shirt in another video?? I’m a PSU girl too and miss it so much! ~Jessi

Abbie Roderick: I had bought those micro bead extensions and they initially looked great. They did however, get tangled up fairly quickly (this was a couple summers ago) I didn’t do any research basically I looked up how to install them and then winged the rest . I’m buying some UTIP ones this go around and because I ended up with that giant rats nest. I’m actually doing the research and I feel like this video probably was the best one because you explained what to do if all else fails. So now I know even if I mess them up a bit i can look back at this and not rip all the hair out of my head in a frenzy. So thank you !!!

jennifer: Hey girl, I just came across your video and so glad I did. I have had the keratin hair extensions three times, and usually go through hell towards the end and now I know why after listening to all your tips LOL oh, so thanks for that. I do have a question though I have thin hair and I find sometimes with those extensions you can see it at the crown of my head. Do you recommend something different for me to do? I'm pretty sure my hairdresser only does this type but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks a bunch

Naomi McGrath: I've only had my nanos in for 3 weeks and they're already looking a bit matted near the roots, but my biggest issue is how ITCHY they are. They're so so so unbearably itchy and even though I washed them today I looked in the mirror and my roots are absolutely covered in dandruff. It's just uncomfortable. I don't know what to do. Obviously spent a lot of money on them but regardless, if I get them removed im scared im going to be left with no hair as it was already very fine before the extensions were put in:(

Posie Pocket: This was SO helpful, thank you so much!!!!

EierkopfFuchsgesicht: Great video. I too learned the hard way to get to these tips. I have another one. Actually never wash your extensions, only your scalp, even if you have oil in them. Wash them with conditioner only. Thats going to be just fine. The shampoo rinses through the extensions a bit anyways when you wash it out. So oil and conditioner on extensions, thats it. But no oil on the scalp

Evelyn Zaragoza: I recently took off my ktip extensions I had them in for about 6 months and I have 2 bad matted hair spots. I’ve tried a few methods and so far I haven’t been able to detangle them It feels like super knotted balls of my hair that’s going to be impossible to detangle What do you recommend for that?

Laura Meives: Hi, I am thinking of getting the extensions.I was wondering if they wont damage your hair as long as they don't get tangled or are there other risk of damaging the hair? Also what hair brush and shampoo should I use? And will it work with hair just at the end of neck?

Tania Milovanovic: I am about to get 70 keratin bonds in on Friday ... researching like a mad woman. I hear satin pillowcases also helps. You didn’t mention how you manage it after you wash them? Do you dry them with a hairdryer or just air dry? Cheers Tania

Haley Dashon: Thank you soooo much for making this video. Definitely helped

ALEXIS: Currently having a hair disaster. looks exactly like your pic. Currently standing in my bathroom with every comb and oil and alcohol in my house. Send positive Vibes my way

Alejandra Herrera: I hope you still reply to this video I got extensions a month ago and my stylist told me to cut the hair when it becomes loose at the bonds. Can you make a video showing us how to do that

Teresa Haven: It is funny....growing up with long hair I was always told my grandmother, who had hair down around the back of her knees, ALWAYS brushed her hair out at night and braided it. In the morning it was brushed out and put in a bun/knot. Also she never cut her hair. She used a candle and singed off the ends. I braid my hair at night, normally braid it during the day or put it in a knot unless I had it in rag ringlets then I wear it down and wrap in a satin scarf or a cap to preserve the ringlets. I rarely use heat or products on my hair......except argon oil lmao!!!! I will have to stop that once I get extensions!!

Monica Cabrera: Should you comb above the extensions every day? Or leave that part alone

Poppy333: VERY VERY VERY VERY HELPFUL No joke. Everything you just said about the dreadlocks and long process omg. Yezzz. This is all correct. Except I didn't know about putting olive oil on the knots. Boy If I knew. Thank you. I'm about to get my next set on. Take care.

Becca Williamson: What length do you get your extensions? I’m looking to get 18 inches and wondered if 18 inches is short in hair extensions xx

Jeanette Cruz: Thank you for keeping it real

Zoe S: Hi, i love your video! I have had my extensions in since the end of February and i have not been able to get to the salon due to Covid -19 and the salon is closed and will be for months to come. I can feel tangles in my hair above my bonds. Can you give me some advice on what i can do until my salon reopens? Thanks,

Jane Barton: Loved your video I got extensions for the first time in October and love them. I have one question...as careful as I am..and I do all of your tips...I find extensions coming out quite frequently on and off. mostly during brushing...Especially when wet...and I am so careful and slow. Since I got them in I paid for an extra bundle to be put in because I was afraid I might be looking shy ...I initially had three bundles put in. I am due at the end of January -- 3 months to have them all replaced. Will definitely do four bundles. Did you have extensions come out during the three months?

Dawn Fox: Hey I love this , is it normal for the extension to be twisted , I mean it looks like it’s twisted at the top of the bond !

R Noor: Omg i didn't plait my hair with tape in extensions & i had the worse matting/tangling ever! I had to cut off loads of my hair. ☹. I have been put off extensions forever.

Irene Vertullo Gersch: I have tried tape in extensions and was back and forth to my stylist bc they kept slipping out . They were a great quality but never took right to my hair. They were expensive. Is there anyway to covert tape in extensions to kertain bind extensions?

Tina Best: How long does it itch and hurt after getting these extensions. I love them, but they just feel weird. Only day 1. Already feel like I went to wrong place. I pray my hair doesn’t get ruined after 3 months of these.

Becky May: Hey - i’m from the UK and can’t find any bond remover online to get mine out- they’re fusion bonds. Will just olive oil work? thankyou in advance x

Jessica Cocks: Hey, I have found mine have shed individual hairs, a few a day, is that normal? I can notice there’s less volume but it doesn’t look bad at all, I can just tell there’s a bit less from the shedding. Or have I washed it too much and broken the bonds down too much? Thanks!! X

Lyssete Sanchez: hey girl! Question Im takjng very good care of my hair with the ktips, I've had them in for 3WKS and after every time im brushing there is soo much hair shedding, is that normal? Is that something that i could prevent or how my girl applied them?

xo xo: My hair is super thin, fine and I have deep curls. It never passes my shoulders. My hairdresser wants to install handtied extesions and she says it will help it grow. My app is for Monday but I'm so nervous, thinking it will damage it more, it will fall out more etc etc... I don't know what to do. HELP!

Taby Tay: Thank you for these they are so helpful

Jaime Marie Richardson: you are sooo freekin cool, thank you im getting fusion tomorrow and found this very informative

Alexandra Ravan: I have a question about sleeping in braids to prevent tangled above the bonds; wouldn’t it still tangle? You’re still moving your head and the hair above the bonds still moving around as well. Especially with a loose braid?

hb: No fights between extensions. Any recommendations on shampoo and conditioner for extensions?

Taby Tay: Thank you for these they are so helpful

Albany Owens: ANOTEHR TOP TIP: my hairdresser always tells me to take a painkiller before removal!

Sarah Milner: Because of lockdown ive had mine in 7 months.. I now have 3 secrions of matting and im terrified ill lose my hair.. Going to my hairdresser next week but help

jodie radoll: Thank you I will do this save my hair lol fantastic

Mari Waller: Hey girl, I have tape in extensions that I've had on for about a 2 weeks now and I wash my hair every third day and for some reason they keep getting matted and tangled what am I doing wrong?? I'm always combing my hair , I use really good shampoo and conditioner, I use a little bit of oil on the tips and I i've been trying to take care of my extensions good just not sure what's going on.

sonia akram: Hi iv just had hair extensions for the first time its been 5 weeks i thought i was looking after then how ever i have massive tangled knots in my head tried conditioner and slowly splitting them but its like im breaking my actual hair and chunks of hair are glued together it seems pls help me

Leah Quinlan: Please help I only have mine done about 3 weeks and the hair is already gathering at the root how do I stop this

Tina Smith: Can I reuse my extensions? I loved it but u r right about how knots were in my real hair. I thought I was gonna go bald lol but with comb I slowly untangled my knots. Now I want extensions again lol

claudia meehan: I took my bond extensions out last night by heating the bond and taking them out but now the keratin wax is still stuck to my roots I dunno how to get it out any ideas I’m freaking out !! My hair looks horrible and knotted

REBECKA VIGIL: Don’t brush/comb while wet

M A: Can I get my hair highlighted or bleached/dyed with these extensions in? Is it best to get this done before having a set of keratin extensions put in?

Michaela Štěrbová: Ive had keratin extensions for couple of years now, and tbh - i dont really do anything extra in terms of care, that i wouldnt do with my natural hair. The only few things I do are: I run my fingers through them when im watching Netflix or smth to sort of prevent early knots, I use shampoo only on my scalp and the rest of the extensions i only wash in conditioner and when i go swimming i put my hair up. I dont always tie my hair for sleeping or use any other extra stuff. I comb my hair more often with a tangle teezer and use masks on them like once a week. Other than that, nothing extra. If the application is good, they will stay in good condition for 4-5 months, before you have to have them corrected :) I even had them done when my hair was super short (picture Emma Watson pixie), so it is possible.

Vivien Seres: Hey girl I’m taking out my extensions now and I am crying lol it’s all tangled and it feels dread locky If that makes sense? Pls help I am crying thank you

Maria Kozah: Any detangler gel and tool you suggest? I am having a disaster

H2B visa information: Thank you!!

Dana Pollard Moving Up in Texas: I love your extension videos!

Robyn Lykins: What’s your favorite shanpoo and conditioner and dry shampoo would you recommend

Chiru Adams: what you prefer.. keratip or itip extensions and why ?

Amy Adkins: about how many pieces do you put in?

Bondeappetite: Sulphate free shampoo and only conditioning ends. I have my bonds in for 5 months no tangles and I don’t braid them. When you get a bad batch of hair they get matted and too many for your head. Just my opinion ❤️

LaLa Reeves: Hi, this comment is for anyone to answer if they have any information I am new to infusion extensions and I just bought a package of 20 I tip fusion extensions but I'm confused on if I'm supposed to use a bead with it or I can just use a flat iron and fuse it to my hair like that because at the store I bought it from Sally's beauty supply they never told me I had to have a bead for it but I've looked at other videos about fusion extensions and they are shaped to fit around your hair and then you twist them whereas the ones I have are called I tips. Can I still use those with a flat iron?

Lee Loo: what shampoo conditioner can you use? i cannot find sulfate free-oil free shampoo/ conditioner.

RUTU PATEL: Pls suggest how to use dry shampoo as am so new to that product and i just got my bond extensions for very first tym

Alyssa Ramirez: I had mine maybe 1wk or 2 and right away they got super tangled & ugly... and they were coming unglued off of my head, & that’s cause they were like glued in pretty hard... they glued the full strips of real hair extensions in.. Layer by layer... so it would look full... I paid like $80 for extensions that just got super ruined with my first couple baths.. it was super hard to brush them.. & I had my mom literally just rip them off my head with alcohol because of how bad they were... Been terrified of extensions ever since..

gillylilly1984: I’m going to stick to clip ins after this!

Vivian Fuentes: Hahahahahaha omg!! I always thought why the f do my hair extension fall out!! It’s the fricking conditioner! Hahaha they feel out of me liters everywhere

Sophia Thomson: can you swim with your extensions in? cause i wear a wig cause my hair is very short at the moment but i want to go swimming in the summer with my friends

Phantom Of The Shoes: What about using MONAT products ?

janette Bratcher: Can I wash keratin u tips with purple shampoo?

Sharna dot com: Hello. I want to apply to permanent hair extention. But i have tensed is it will be Heavy? I have head pain also that's why i dont understand what can i do. Pls suggested me. I Don't know what i do???

Annette Cinelli: Had new hair extensions in brunette color put in and it doesn't look good how do I go blond again I'm guessing I have to have the extensions taken out and go blond all over again

Jen: Do you ever itch like you wanna scratch them

Alicia Bell: Thank you so much for the tips! You sound like Nina Dobrev btw

enternameherenow: Why dont you just wrap your hair at night

Casey Elizabeth: If you are wondering what my must have products are for extensions check out my newest video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjqaxSMQY8c

Salwa Mokbel: Why do they call it keratin hair extension and not extension only ?

Al-Zahra Xara: Okay
