When I would go to the hairdresser, I was full of anxiety, because how your install is gon na look is heavily based on that foundation. So if that Foundation is not flat, we're having a problem, I'm going to be upset for like a month and welcome back to my channel my name's Gwen for those of you who are new here. Today'S video, we are going to be talking about hair and I'm going to be comparing the braidless show in with micro links versus a regular braided sew-in. So I am not a hair stylist, I'm just someone who's. I'Ve been doing my hair for years. I'Ve been learning a lot of different techniques. I also have a lot of sewing videos on my channel. I have a micro link, video on my channel, and I am someone who I would say I personally like more natural installs. So that's what I sort of gear. My hair videos to on my channel, but I do run the social media page for a salon. So I see what kind of extension methods the girls, love and, of course, A lot of them love the wigs. But I have noticed a shift and normally around this time when it starts getting cooler, a lot more people start to go to sew-ins with leave out. So today we're just going to be comparing the two I'm going to. Let you guys know a little bit of differences between the two and then which one may be best for you. If you're deciding oh, should I get a sew-in, or should I get a braidless sew in so let's go ahead and jump into it. Braidless sew in is basically when you micro, link the hair, and then you sew the tracks onto the micro links with a regular sew-in. You would braid the hair down for the base and then you sew the track onto the braids. So the difference between the two is basically what you attach the tract on with the braid to sew in, like I said it's attached to micro links and then the regular sew in it's attached to braids. Now there is another way of doing micro links, but I would not consider them braidless micro links and I'm not going to really talk about that in this video. But I do have a micro links versus tape in video that I will link below, and that gives a little more insight into the actual individual micro links and then also the way that I like to do. My micro links, which is not showing down you're. Just attaching the bead to the hair, so I will go ahead and Link both of those videos down below, but this particular video we're talking specifically braidless showing versus the regular sewing four calls. I went to Google and maybe that wasn't the best thing to do, because Google says that sew-ins range from one to five hundred dollars and braidless sew-ins start off between 300 to 500. So because Google was pretty much broad, I'm gon na go ahead and go to one of the girls pages that I run their social media for and I'm going to give you her price point. So she has here that micro links are three hundred dollars starting out and that is without hair included and for her sew-in, her regular traditional sew-in, it's 175.. I have noticed this myself too, that normally uh people who do braidless sew-ins or the micro link installs. It'S normally more expensive than a traditional sew-in. In my opinion, I don't really know why they're more expensive, braiding the hair and then sewing on the hair to me takes a lot more time, but that's because I think I kind of go OD with my versatility. With my sew in like I need need a five part sew-in, I need to be able to part it this side that side middle part update, like I like for my sew-in, to look like my natural hair. If I have a show-in and people don't tell me, I thought that was your real hair. I look at that as like a loss. Whenever I have a sew-in, I need people to not be able to tell you know so anyway. That is the average cost. Both can last up to eight weeks now I know with the sew-in the lady who I run the social media, for she does a Titan at the four week Mark. So you can schedule an appointment to get a Titan with micro links. They say that they also last about six to eight weeks now you can come in and get the beads moved up or to get a Titan with that as well. So now, let's leave Google alone and come to my personal opinion with the maintenance. So the reason that I love a sew-in - and I'm talking to sew-in with the braided base is because the maintenance to me is it's so much better than a regular microlink. So, starting off, you should always be getting a hair texture that is similar to your own hair, texture in case you're, doing a traditional sew-in with one middle part and a perimeter right. Even if you're doing like one side part, you can kind of get away with. Having a hair texture, that's not super like your natural hair texture, but anytime, you start going with in between sew-ins, or you start going with micro links in between the hair, clip and tape and whatever the texture needs to be either the same texture or it needs To be the same luster, because once you start blending the hair and you have your hair throughout you're, going to be able to tell that there's two different textures. You can get away with flat ironing your hair to blend. In with the weave. I do not personally recommend that, because I've seen so many girls who have that heat damage right there, because they're trying to blend the hair with the weave - and I totally get it - I was that girl I had heat damage. That'S why I came up with the ways to finesse it and put little tracks right here to kind of give me a little bit of length in the front, but I learned over time like when just get a raw, Indian, hair or raw Indian curly hair. Not the one where they're you know giving their hair to their own Gods, regular, Indian, raw hair or raw Vietnamese hair, and it's because the luster is the same. So when I go out - and I step out in humidity and my hair starts to poof up so will the weave so I'm not having to all the time press my hair so straight to blend going back to the maintenance when I wash my hair with the Show it because most of the hair is braided up when I go to have a wash day, I really only have to either re-straighten or you know, put flexi rods on the part that is left out versus a braidless sew-in. All of your hair is left out. Okay, some people do prefer all their hair being left out. I was one of them. I used to really like clip in hair extensions, because I, before I found out how to do the super versatile showing I was like. I need some versatility and I need it to be super flat like before I started doing my own show-ins when I would go to the hairdresser. I was full of anxiety because how your install is gon na look is heavily based on that foundation. So if that Foundation is not flat, we're having a problem, I'm going to be upset for like a month whatever. So when I learn how to do my sew-ins myself, I was like oh my gosh. I have full control over how flat it is. I didn't really worry about wanting to leave all my hair out for the flatness I was like I can achieve this with having my hair braided up cool, let's braid it up, because me personally, I have very curly hair right and when my hair is super curly, It is a lot to manage managing all of my hair plus I get weave textures that are similar to my hair. So now I got two heads on me, which it sounds a little weird. Okay. Now I have so much hair on me that I have to manage, and the point of me getting sew in sometimes is so that it can cut down on my processing time literally like so that I don't have to worry about. Oh, my gosh styling doing all this stuff. I could just be out the door so sticking on that we're going to jump right into which one is better for you. Personally, if you are someone - and you have incredibly short hair, I will recommend the regular show-in only because with the braidless showing all of your hair is left out. So, depending how short your hair is, you're, basically going to have hair throughout so you're, going to be able to see those short pieces with your hair. You know what I mean and it's just not a good look having those short hairs throughout you're, better off. Getting all those short hairs as long as it's long enough for it to grip, you braid down everything and you lay the tracks on top of it. Now the only hair that you have out that may be short. You just got to worry about blending that little portion versus worry about blending all your hair throughout it's going to be a nightmare. So if you have short hair - and you want to get extensions, I recommend a regular show-in over the microlink sew. It now jumping into versatility when it comes to versatility. The bracelet sew-in to me is more versatile. Now I have mentioned. I do five part sew-ins myself and I have broke the code to where it's super extremely versatile and if you're going to ask me okay Gwen what is more, versatile, you're showing or the braidless micro link, I'm going to tell you they're both the same. However, I do not know of a lot of people who do that, even when I would go to get my own hair done. I learned to braid my own hair down because I just wanted it so versatile, and so I would do my own braid downs and she would basically just sew in the hair for a lot of hair stylists. I'M not sure that they do the five part. But I have seen hair stylists, who do the three-part sew-in, which is just as good and then also some do the Vixen sew-ins. But when you talk about just a traditional sew-in, if you wanted to compare traditional middle part sewing with a braidless sew-in microlink uh, the braidless show and microwing is going to be more versatile and so keeping on that. Let'S talk about the flatness of it because I kind of touched on, if you are going to someone who, maybe they like bulky, braids, okay, the micro, the braidless showing is going to take the the cake hands down. It'S going to be the flattest. But if you go to someone who braids the hair in such a way that you're like you, are born to do this, you know now the brainless sewing is still going to be. It'S still going to be the flat. It'S still going to be flatter. Put a majority of installs that I've been to I've been to a few hair stylists. They were never able to get it as flat as the braidless installs and that's because when you have a braidless sew-in you're, not braiding your hair down. So when you go to braid your hair down and then you attack to track to that, that braid is almost like adding on a little bit of height and then you go to attach the track versus the braidless sew-in. It'S a bead, that's flush, and then you attach the track. So it's going to lay a little bit flatter. So if you're someone who you're like the flatness is the main important thing, I don't care about the maintenance. I don't care about needing to always touch my hair, the braidless showing is going to be your friend and last but not least, if you're someone who you're wanting a protective style, the sew-in is going to be better for you. You because, even with the leave out showmans you do have majority of your hair is braided up, as I stated, with the braidless sew in all of your hair, is left out so you're going to have to manipulate all of your hair, which will kind of contradicts. Sometimes the purpose of having a protective style, which is to kind of tuck your hair away, to kind of give it a break okay guys. So that's pretty much it for this video. I really hope that it was helpful to you if you have any questions. As always, leave them down below I'll be sure to answer. Also, if you want me to compare any other extension method, go ahead and drop it down below. I am a lover of extensions, alright, bye guys. Thank you.

Mocha Mommy: I have never had a sew in or weave of any kind. I was always kind of afraid that I would not be able to maintain it. I feel more informed after watching your videos

Motivational_Strongwill D: I'm new to your channel but I just did my own traditional sew in last week and I prefer this one oppose the other ones because I have thick to fine hair and I think my hair would break

CiearraB: Great video ! I’m definitely going back to my braided sew in this winter☺️ hey I would love to watch a video on the best hair to buy including brands. I’m mainly a Amazon buyer so I would love to hear about Other brands/ company’s . And Congratulations on 5k sissy!!

Nadia : Love the video: what about maintenance of how condition/moisturize, wash and dry hair with a sew in etc. I think that’s important especially when trying to protect natural hair or trying grow it out natural hair. I’m going throw hair troubles last year all my hair fell out and thinned out. It might have been because I bleached it,first time doing knoteless braids and stress from wedding planning or all three. But by the grace of God my hair is back now and thick amen. I miss my length though and do half wigs or sew in while I wait for my hair to grow. But I have no idea how to manage sew ins and I am worried I will damage my natural hair since I don’t know how to take care of extensions. ❤

Shane Nolan: Oh and your hair looks lovely always. My late beloved grandmother's advice to her grandson, always notice a lady hair ? Weather she is 6 or 60 . , you dont need to understand the details, just notice something is different,
