The doctored locks, elastic matrix thread has become my new best friend. This stuff is great. I use it any place that I would use a rubber band and they also use it for Brazilian knot or fiberglass extension. It comes in several different colors to match your client space, color and you're just going to unwrap it from the Roll cut off. However much you need, and then this is going to wind around your application and then get tied. This stuff is great because it really has a lot of stretch, but it doesn't break this professional-grade elastic matrix thread is perfect to have in your bag of tricks for all of your rubber banded and Brazilian, not installation.
