Hey guys so today i'm going to be doing a micro link install on my cousin, deja's hair. As you can see, her curl pattern is looser than my little sisters, whose hair i did in the last video. So if you haven't seen that go ahead and check it out, we were able to find a pattern and texture that matched deja's hair perfectly. The person that we bought the bundles from didn't have the same length available. So we just went with two of the same lens and one that was a little bit longer and then we just trimmed it so that it all matched and was the same length. Now, let's get started on how to separate the hair. So, for me, it's important to make sure you have enough hair left out in the back, so that when you are putting the hair up in a ponytail, you do not see the micro links now. Obviously, because her hair texture is looser, when you do blow dry or flatten her hair, it is going to obviously get a little thinner. So you want to make sure you have enough hair out, i would say braid it to make sure it does not get mixed in with the hair that you are going to be putting in the microlinks so to get started with the install. I have super detailed videos on how i do this, but i'm going to show you guys in this video as well, i'm going to start off by using the metal loop threader and that's how the bead is going to get on each piece of hair. Each section of hair, so i like to go ahead and put all the beads on at one time and then come back and slide the eye tips through the beads before i clamp it down with the plier, get your eye tip, put it through the bead and Then take your pliers and then clamp down now. You do not want to clamp down too hard. I want to make that very clear to you guys, because you will cut the hair and then you will have your client's hair in your hand, so don't clamp down too hard. You will lose hair. It will come off in your hand. Instantly just want to make that very clear to you guys. I have learned from experience and then, when you're doing this, i also want to make it clear: do not put it tight to the roots. Okay. Now, when i do my micro links for myself or for my cousin or a family member, because i don't do it on clients, when i do it for us, i i don't do it loose and when i watch all those instagram videos and because i'm self-taught, when I watch all those instagram videos and everything i definitely see that they don't put it close to the root. You want to avoid that, because if you do that, you know you shouldn't really put it up in a ponytail right after i like to compare microlinks to um box braids, you know when you first get box braids, not not knotless box words. I mean regular box. Braids, when you get regular box braids and you try to put it up in a ponytail, there is so much tension there, because your braids are tight. So i would never recommend you putting your micro link straight up into a ponytail and keeping it there for a whole day. This process takes me. I would say about two to four. I would say about three to four hours. In total, it can be quicker um depending on if you can just move quicker, but because i'm still learning this is my third person that i've done. I'M still taking my time and trying to figure out my speed and everything. So i'm not really in a rush, but i have heard of this taken possibly two hours between two to four hours. To answer. Some of you guys questions um. I do want to do a video answering all you guys, questions on microlinks, based on my experience, my sister's experience and my cousin's experience. So if you guys want, please leave your questions down below and i will gather them all up and make a whole video answering you guys questions to make sure the parts are super super super straight. I am using edge control just like how you would, if you were doing you, know cornrows or box braids. I am using edge control to make the parts super sleek and straight, and then you can obvious obviously see that her hair is a light brown color. She went through a series of coloring her hair several times later on. She did dye her hair at jet, black and the weave jet black. So because somebody's gon na ask me this question. Yes, you can wash your hair, i washed and dyed my hair with the micro links in my hair. However, if your hair is super thick and super kinky, i wouldn't say diet. I would say: yes, you can do regular washes, maybe once a week or once every two weeks, you're washing your hair as you're styling, your hair, be super super super gentle. So if you would definitely put all your force into doing a basic ponytail on your real hair without micro links, take out that strength. Okay, don't put all your might into doing the tightest ponytail, because you're putting more tension on your hair and your hair. You know you might lose some hair okay, as always like i'd love to say with microlinks. It is a protective style just like any other protective style. So you do run the risk of damaging your hair. Because majority of your hair is out, you do run the risk of losing hair, depending on how strong your hair is, depending on how you take care of the length, depending on how rough you are with the legs. Depending on how long you keep the links are in so you do run that risk just like how you would with a sew-in with leave out in between tracks a braidless, sew-in, box, braids and so forth. I think one of the best things about microlinks is just being able to have the flexibility to do anything you want with your hair, while these are in it gives your hair fullness. So, even if you didn't want your your micro lengths to be long, maybe you're not about that long, hair life - and you just want your hair to be short. But you want your hair to be short and full microlinks offers you that that flexibility and that's what i love about it um you can put a wig on over this. If you wanted to, you know, you guys know, i'm always working with wig companies pause right here. You can see, i'm cutting the hair and just trimming it. We put the longest bundle in the back and then we started to use the short bundles going towards the top, not for any specific reason, but just because um it offers you a lot of flexibility. If you just a person that likes to wear your real hair. But you just want more fullness, i would definitely say opt-in for microlinks, okay. Now, if your hair is too thin, i wouldn't, i personally wouldn't say, get micro lens, because there can be tension added on to your hair. You also want to avoid doing super thick sections when you are picking up the micro link b, because the hair sometimes cannot fit through it with the actual eye tip. And then, if you, if you do, do two thick pieces, when you are trying to wash your hair, if your hair is super natural, if you're a 4c texture, your hair will definitely swell, and this could result in losing some hair, as you are taking out the Micro link tips, and yes guys i do have a video coming up where i will be showing you guys how to take out deja's micro link. You know i've been calling them micro link eye tips. At this point, it's so confusing to me, which one it is so i just call it both with a slash in the middle. So this is how the top of her hair is going to look. She has a nice deep part now keep in mind guys if you have to take out some take out some if you have to add in more add in more okay. So this is pretty much where we were at. I was trying to see if it looks good around this time. You want to kind of put it up in a you, know, a loose ponytail and see if you will be able to see any micro links. Obviously she was super happy and super excited about this whole entire hairstyle, so it was so funny because she is in love with it guys. If you see her in the street right now, you would never ever think she has any kind of extension in her hair. It looks so freaking good, like i'm, not even exaggerating, because i did it, but even when i i go to see her, i'm like girl, your hair looks so good. You still have it in and she's like yeah, so it looks really good. No tight. There is no tightness when it comes to this style. I mean there can be, if you put it tight to your root, but you want to avoid it at all cost, so she expressed for her birthday. She wanted to have her hair straight. She wanted to straighten so we went ahead and just went and did row by row now, because this hair is curly. I was honestly shocked at at how straight it got. I was amazed my own self, like you know i figured like yes, i can straighten it, but it got sleek guys really sleek, so just go ahead and flat iron and blow dry again. Take your time, don't be too rough, you don't want to pull out any links, i'm going to be using my keratis hair oil to just moisturize her hair, but add a little shine to it, not too much because you don't want your hair to be greasy, and I have in micro links right now guys and i literally oh. She also wanted a little mini trim, so i didn't trim too blunt, but i trimmed enough because she felt like her ends were just very dead. I was in love with it. I was like. Oh, my god like i wish she would have wore curly this day, so you guys could have seen it, but when she wears it curly today it looks so so so so good, and this was the end result guys. I have to know what you guys are thinking, please. Let me know down below. I think the entire look is seamless, even with her hair being a different color. It doesn't look like girl, we know you got clippings or sew-in or anything. I think it looks really natural she loved it. She was so happy with it. She could not stop taking pictures and i think it looks good it's comfortable. It'S easy um. The hair that i used was from studio tequila. They do have a youtube page as well. They'Re, oh my god. Her work is amazing um, but she is in the atlanta area. So we did go pick up the bundles from her. I'M gon na show you guys some slow-mo. This is it in a ponytail that looks so freaking good. Meanwhile, i look a mess. Thank you guys for watching this video. I hope you guys enjoyed it. I hope you guys love the end result again. Let me know any questions and concerns you may have i'm going to do a whole entire video. I'M addressing those concerns. Answering those questions and going from there. Thank you guys for watching and i'll see you guys in my next video and i'll be showing you guys how to take this out all right, bye guys. I

I think this might be my next hairstyle, im soo burnt out on the wig look and weaves that don’t last for no longer than a month or two. I love the fact that you can wash the hair and style again thanks for all the videos on this look and your hair looks great as well

JRCcandleco : You did such a great job!!! However, I’ve seen some microlinks sticking out badly if not well covered by natural hair. I prefer a sew in weave lol. But you did an awesome job!!!!!!!

Cheryl Clarke: Excellent job, and great details given in video. It was so interesting and informative. She looked fabulous and the hair installation was so natural. I am sold ‍♀️

K X: Thank you boo. This was sooo helpful. I’m so doing me some kinky curly links

CJ: You did that! I’m self taught too.. I love it!

Sheree_b B: Good jobs - It looks really great. I just noticed you said it is a protective still but you Hair runs the risk of breakage. I would say this is not a protective style, even if not flat ironed daily as you said added tension and your Hair is completly out. A lot of my white friends who have been using this method for years are now wanting to find a new method as it has thinned their Hair so much. (Some might be down to a lack of maintenance and care) but I’m not sure about this method for continual use if trying to maintain long /thick hair

At this moment: This looks great! Flawless i do think the curl MAYBE harder to blend with a 4c hair texture though

It’s Me Kiara Tee: I loveee this look, but I would never do it unfortunately. The only person I would trust to put pliers near my hair is my beautician but she chargers like $410 & UP for this style. The longer/thicker your hair, the more she charges. I’d be in the $500 range easy I’m wayyy too frugal for these prices! ‍♀️

Fancy Moore: You did an AWESOME JOB!!

Verin1000random: such a good video, you also did an amazing job

Chuchi Trains: Looks so natural I definitely want to try some

Miss Yum Yum La’Alacia Sessions: You did amazing in this install. I ordered some hair from her after watching this video. I wanted this same hair but she sent me some other texture that was wavy and assured it was the curly hair and all I needed to do was wash the hair and it will curl. It didn’t curl she apologized and said she would refund my money when I sent back the hair in December let’s just say she has been ignoring me and hasn’t sent my money back. I been communicating with her via email and on PayPal. I was really looking forward to trying her hair but it’s ok I found some from somewhere else.

Torya Hewlett: This is exactly what I want thanks for the upload

Kyafa Middleton: You did a beautiful job, her hair looks good

Pao Acosta: You did an amazing job.

Unbreakable Strength 3: Thank you finally a real video with my hair type ... Love it .. I m practice first .., then install on myself it’s looks real ..
