Hey guys crystal from nova game beauty and welcome back to my channel, so i've gotten quite a few questions about microlinks and who i go to and what i think about the install. So i figured i would just do a video to answer everybody's questions. So i'm not kind of just regurgitating the same information to different people um. So in this video i'll talk about what microlinks are we'll also talk about the pros and cons of microlinks um and then i'll add a few little tidbits of my own opinion about the install um, but before we do that. If you are new here welcome, but i need you to hit that notification bell and that subscribe button and if you're, not new, here, welcome back. Thank you so much for joining and let's get right into the video hyperlinks, which are also sometimes called micro rings or micro. Beads are pretty much these small, tiny beads that are attached to your natural hair, um that allow a micro length specialist to attach either eye tips. I'Ll talk about that later or an actual weft of hair to your hair um. This install does not require any type of braid up or braids, or anything like that. Pretty much everything is just attached to your hair um, i'm going to try and show you guys, but without revealing nikki's secret sauce, but the extension is right here. Can you see that whole week and i'm gon na flip it up, so you guys can see. Do you see that bead right there yeah, so they it's attached to my hair and then um? She attaches the weft to the the bead. So, there's pretty much that that situation is going on all over my head that allows it to lay flat allows me that versatility of doing whatever i want with the install top of this is pretty much the size of the micro beads. So what they usually do with so these are the beads are in my hair right now and then the tracks are kind of adhered or attached to that um. So there's multiple or maybe even 100 of these in my head at the moment, but when they're do when, when we're talking about eye tips, eye tips are pretty much where the bead is like this and there's the hair is pretty much in this already like. There'S. No track so it's almost like loose hair, that's secured into the bead and then those individual strands are secured to your hair. Hopefully that kind of explained it um, but that's the best way i could think of. But in my opinion i prefer um the weft just because that's what i'm used to, but i definitely think i want to try the eye tips um eventually, but i'm still going to use the micro link. So i think the works perfectly for those who are beginners or i've never had this type of install. Let'S talk about candidates for microlinks, so it sounds all fine and dandy. It sounds great, but i'm gon na be real with you guys. This install is not for everyone um. When i first got my first install i and i um like i'm. I feel like i'm very capable of taking care of my natural hair, but i remember being very overwhelmed because it's like having your natural hair on out and then on top of it, adding more hair that you have to take care of. So obviously, you're going to be using more products, there's more maintenance, because you're gon na have to wash more hair condition more hair blow dry, more hair, the whole routine kind of doubles because there's more hair on your head. So if you're somebody who is looking for something that's low maintenance or you want something that is super easy and you don't really have to do much to. I don't think that this would be the right install for you just because you do have to put a lot of effort into it to keep it looking. Vibrant another thing to take into context is hair texture. Different hair textures will perform differently with the hair extensions or with the install i should say so. I really recommend talking to your stylist, getting a consultation done, so they can really decide or you guys can decide together if you would be a good candidate for it. Um, hair health is another thing that is very important, because if you have very weak damaged hair or the hair at the root where the beads would be attached to is broken or damaged or frail, this install would probably add more damage to your natural hair than Do any good, because, obviously that's going to be more tension on here if i can't um pretty much hold up more hair or secure the weight of the either eye tips or wet that you decided to do now. That said, let's jump right into the pros. So what i feel is like with microlinks they're relatively or the install is relatively fast in comparison to other installs. You know like. If you go get you go to get your hair um a weave done. First, they got ta braid your hair. Then they got ta sew, sew the braid together or whatever. Then they got ta in some cases put on a wig cap or they got to start sewing in the extensions with this install it's pretty much when you go in and she has your natural hair blow dried and and uh or washed and blow dry. She can jump or your stylus can jump right into installing the hair right away. There'S no braids! You skip that whole braid apart. This install, doesn't require any type of heat, adhesives chemicals. Anything like that to pretty much be put onto your head. It'S just silicone beads and these beads are real they're, they're, very tiny, but i'm in the middle of the beads there's these grooves that allow them to pretty much attach to your hair in a way that there isn't a lot of tension. So i found that it's a lot easier getting this install versus the weeds i've had over the years, it's to the point where i'm like. Why are we just getting this now? This is a bit much bit ridiculous, but um when there's less tension on your hair. Obviously, then, there is less damage overall, hair, styling and maintenance, for me is pretty easy because i've i i know how to style my hair. I know how to manage my hair when i'm not um sitting in a salon chair and i think that's something i picked up on, not only just from my own knowledge, but just talking to my stylist and finding out okay, what products you use on my hair, Especially like, if i leave this lawn, i absolutely love the way my hair feels i'm gon na ask her okay. What what tools did you use? What product is this okay? What does this do? It'S very, i think a lot of us should ask questions. That'S why we have stylists. That'S why it's important to utilize those people um just so that when you do want to manage your hair outside of the salon, it's not so scary, styling and maintenance is pretty easy if you're capable of doing that. I don't think this would be super difficult. I feel like it would be a breeze, but do keep in mind that you will have to get them re-tightened um. I believe it's the four to six week mark just because, as your hair starts to grow out, the bead isn't going to stay attached to, like, i guess, right at the root of your hair. It'S going to grow with that hair. So pretty much when you go in for that four to six week, install they're, just gon na slide that bead right up and then you're back to normal, and this also helps with making sure that the style stays undetectable. And my favorite part. When i say your hair is on flat, your hair is on flat, so let me just show you guys i'm going to turn this way, so you can see - and i should have brought my comb in here. Actually i will brp i'm going to go. Get my comb okay, i have to get a proper brush so when i say this installs on flat flap it's on flat yo, so you could literally a bun. If you wanted to show you guys from all angles, you can do a ponytail. How do we do a high ponytail, so you guys can see. So i want you guys to see the back the sides and i'm going to put it in a messy ponytail, so you guys can really see when i say versatility, that was a line versatility. This is a messy ponytail, but you can see you could do whatever you want with the hair. You can put it up, you can leave it down, you can do half up half down, you can do ponytails, you can pretty much do anything um and that's what i absolutely love about it um. Just because you have that versatility like when i say versatility. I'M talking about birds that sell it like i'm, not kidding um, so pretty much, even when i like, and it's the point like when i have this install. You know like when you first get a weave like you, like your weave for the first day in the first week and then like first like maybe or maybe it's just me after a week and a half i'm just like i'm sick of this hairdo. I don't have any more makeup ideas for this hairdo, i'm just kind of done versus when i do this hair. You could go on eight eight weeks, nine weeks and because i can do so much with it, i don't really get that urge. So i just prefer. I just prefer micro lengths like i. I don't think i could ever go back to extensions ever ever ever ever so, let's talk about the cons. Now, i'm gon na be real with you guys. This ain't, cheap, so micro links is going to run you about on. Why am i sure, you're going this, probably on the low end about 500 per install all the way up to a thousand dollars? But let me explain to you what that should entail. That should include the hair and the hair that i have is um double drawn hair. So pretty much it is hair that is the same thickness from root to tip. So you know when you buy weave it's like, usually you, let's say, for example, by 20 inches. Really truly you're only getting like 18, because the last two inches are just like raggedy, and you know you got ta cut them off with this. It'S like you, don't even have to do that. The hair is just thick from root to tip y'all, so the hair will be included in that price in that price. It also includes a six week. Um the six week touch if i spoke to you guys about or tightening sorry um. So that's really good. So when you think about it this way - and this is how i've broken it down to people, because every time people have asked me the price and i told them, they think i'm absolutely insane how much money do you think you spend on your hair? In let's say a nine to ten week period, like really think about it, think about how many times you buy hair, how many times you maybe go to get your hair done, just everything, i'm pretty sure if you calculate or if you're like me, if you calculate How much money you spend in that time, if you're a girl that wears weave all the time, you probably surpass that 500 or 600 700 mark and what's great about this install, is yeah the first time you you get it done and you buy the right hair For the install it's probably gon na be one of the pricier ones, um or pricier installs, just because you have to get the hair, but when i first did my first micro links install in july july 2019, i think i retired the hair i bought from that. Install and maybe let me realistic here, maybe may or june 2020 um, so i had it for just under a year uh and i plan to do, and i just bought this hair as well. So i plan to do the same thing. If you take care of the hair, the hair will last and you can continue to keep using it in an install and then obviously, at that point, you're only paying the stylus for an install versus for installed hair. So i definitely think it's up there in price. Y'All, but just for how much you get to do with your hair and the fact that you can now take care of your hair. Like i take care of my natural hair, like no other, i sit down at night, i have one of those little head scratchers. I rub my hair. I massage my scalp with oil because having this hair makes you just want to be different, like you want to have a different routine at night, you want to have. I bought soap pillowcases for the first time in my life. You know i want to sleep on a silk pillowcase, along with myself bonnet like i just want to do the most but yeah, so it definitely is pricey but, like i said, if you really think about how much money you spend on hair in a six to Ten week period, you probably would realize that it's not far off from the cost of the install um and i'm going to say this again. Micro links is not for everybody. People think it's easy peasy and it's not like it's your hair out, there's no covering there's. No tuck this in don't show my edges. I don't want there's none of that everything's out everybody's, experienced a bird and then we're going to add extra hair. On top of that, so you have to take care of all the hair um. So yeah like wash days for me, are i mean i don't hate them, but i don't like them either because, like i know, it's gon na be a whole process to blow dry, this a whole process to flat iron, it or or braid it or do whatever It is, i need to do, but i like the after results, so i deal with it, but if you're somebody who you don't like doing that or you don't think that you're capable of maintaining, if you you don't you're, not even capable of maintaining your own hair, I don't think this install would be for you, because you're going to be super overwhelmed, because it's a lot of hair um, and that's that i do want to give a shout out to my stylist. Onyx rose hair um. She is the greatest microlink specialist in the gta and that's on period so hit her up for your install. Tell her. I sent you and drop me a note or a pick or something on my instagram when you get yours done, i promise you guys. If you do this, you will love it like there's no going back. I have a few of my last clients that have gone to her and they literally came back with their extensions and they're like crystal i'm, never doing one yet like they. You don't understand once you pay that money, you see the value. You see, you see your five six, seven, eight hundred dollar. You see it because you're like this hairstyle and this versatility is sick and when i talk about people, don't be knowing people don't be knowing y'all, they don't be knowing they don't know, and that's that guys. That is pretty much what it is about. My feelings, that's all i know i don't know anything else, um so again, don't forget to hit that like comment and subscribe and i'll see all you guys in the next clip

CasinoGal: I have these also. It feels so much better than a sew in! No itching, no wefts poking the scalp! But it's expensive! Very versatile and light feeling. Great video beautiful!! Thanks!!

Tatyona: I've been wanting an install done like a sew in or lace front but recently came across microlinks. Would you recommend them for a first timer and do they appear more natural as compared to sew ins and ect. ?

K Farah: So pretty!! is this method comfortable/more comfortable than other extensions methods? Also how many rows/wefts do you have in your hair?

OnRecordWithOni: I have had micro links before and loved it ! It’s definitely a lot to maintain. Interesting you said all those Servives come with yours . I calculated the cost of the itip service I want to get , the hair is not included and is going to run me about $500 plus the service another $400 and the touch up is a about $200 . And the $200 is about every 2 months . Who ever you are going to , if you are in the la area I definitely would love to know who you go to lol

Nikki Dunn: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for this! This is the best review I've watched so far!!!

Maria: Love the video! The best about microlinks on YouTube! Thank you!

Keyara A.: Your makeup is so flawless

Larissa Calvin: Ugh it hit hard when you said it’s not for people who have trouble managing their hair. I’m contemplating on whether to get these or not bc I’m tired of braids but I also don’t want a lace front bc that glue really messes up my edges. Idk do you still suggest to someone like me to try these out or to just wait a while longer?

aligned ring pop: can we workout with these? i run often and i don’t want to lose my progress or worse damage my hair!

Gwendolyn Hagler: How much does it cost to have your hair tightened without paying for hair? How often do you give your hair a break and for how?

Lia Upchurch: My hair natural grown hair 3c is the length of your install (waist, 18inches) Do you think it would be too heavy for me to get something 24”? My hair doesn’t feel heavy to me . So idk ‍♀️. My hair is also very thick but super fine strands. Can I lay it down in the GA heat? Will it survive a partner and child who pull and play in my hair daily?

Patrica: I know you say 6-8 weeks for tightening but in how many weeks did you retighten?

hannahmariahhhh: Do these damage your natural hair or cause breakage?

LaToya Boggans: so is your hair relaxed or did you find hair that mathes your natural curl and then straighten it all...?

Dawann Williams: Pretty l am considering this but l have really thick 4C hair that l really don’t want to perm. Even with a silk press my hair will not stay straight 4-6 weeks. I am tired of braids and wigs. Since you said my natural hair is out l’d probably have to really really blow dry and flattened the hair when l wash it. I like more curly hair using flexi rods. Thanks for sharing.

KekeBankss: Thanks for sharing, how do you manage your new growth with this style ?

Te'Neika Henley: Would you recommend Tape in extentions for people who dont want to get microlinks?

mikaTOOfancy: Very informative! And you’re soo pretty

blahhhhhhhhhh: Thank you SOOOOOO much! Awesome video.

Alana Kutama: Do you recommend having micro links in high school. Especially because of schedules.

Deidra L. Thomas: Is this a good option for those who suffer with migraines?

Jarra24/7: Can you swim in micro-links? Also how long your natural hair must be to use micro-links?

ashten Bash: how long do you go before washing your hair?

Shanika Turnbull: What hair companies do you recommend

Msglamorous215: Where did you get your eleylashes from they are pretty .. and I am looking into micro links myself but my only takeaway right now is that for maintenance I would have to be washing and styling it myself which seems like a lot for me to do on my own . Because the install from the stylist would be in another state and I know I cannot travel every two to three weeks to get it done. Do you think I could go to just a general stylist to get maintenance??

Da Shaun Baldwin: Hey can you part and braid your hair like French braids?

Precious: Do you workout with microlinks?

K Reed: How many bundles is this? Is this 2B?

Pat Fussy: Thank you so much

Erin Royal: Is that painful? Tight?

Shania Vincent: Can I get it if my hair is relaxed

Ravyn Reese: Where did you buy your hair? How do you wash your hair ???

Warnella Bryant: What kind of hair is it

Amma Nimo: How many inches are your bundles?

besassyxo: you’re so cute!

nkechi85: you’re so cute @13:00
