#MICROLOCS #FINEHAIR #SISTERLOCKS

Hey guys before we start today's video, i am so excited to announce that i have started a facebook. It is called locks, so fine um for all of us, with fine low density, hair and even high density hair. If you want to come on come on girl join the join our group, you can find it on facebook i'll leave the link in the description below i. It is a growing group. So so far the only person in it is me, but i would love for you to join my group and i'll. Be there active in that group. Answering answering any questions. It'Ll be a good place for us to discuss our micro locks sister locks, regular lock, especially as we deal and navigate with our lock journeys on low density and fine hair or just fine hair in general. So i hope you will join me there. In my facebook group - and you can find it in the link in the description below hey guys, it's danielle welcome back to my channel happy almost halloween in today's video. I'M going to be talking about something really scary, really spooky for a lot of people, and that is frizz. So frizz, i don't really mind frizz that much, but i know a lot of people do and even though i don't mind it, it's not like it's. You know like my best friend, so i still try to do some things to eliminate frizz from for my hair as much as i can, and today i'm going to share with you a few of those things. These are things i've been using for the last seven months since i've been locked, some of them are slightly less time than that, but they're all very affordable and some of them won't cost you anything. So, let's get started item number one that i do to reduce. Frizz in my hair is that i actually dry my hair with a t-shirt instead of a towel. That is a very old school natural hair thing to do back from, like you know, natural 85 and the chic natural and all those people 10 years ago started sharing things about how towels will cause your hair to frizz up more and have less definition and the Same thing with our locs, the towel, the friction rubbing against your hair right after you wash it and it's wet. It'S not really going to help you in the frizz department. So what i do is, after i wash. I still do. Brandon band after i wash my hair, i wrap it up in a t-shirt until it's pretty much like not sopping wet anymore, and then i take the t-shirt off. I actually unban the bottom of my hair and i put a roller on it instead, and so i can have kind of a braid out with the curly style. So that's. The first thing i do is that i use a t-shirt to dry my hair instead of using a towel next thing that i do is that i always wear one of these that i have right here. I actually have two different ones, so this is the first one. Everybody knows what this is. This is a bonnet. If you ask my husband, i don't know why, but he always causes my sleeping hat. I think he just does it to get on my nerves, but sleeping hat bonnet satin bunny, whatever you want to call it. I actually prefer a bonnet over a scarf, but you could also use a silk scarf if you want to i'm fairly certain. This is like satin polyester, but it's just softer on my hair than my cotton pillowcase is, and so this will keep your hair from having that friction, when you're sleeping and rubbing and another thing that it'll do that's an added bonus is that it will actually help Your face as well, so all those oils and all the things that have been on your on your hair all day, won't be rubbing into your pillow. Then your face will bend on it after that. So it's absolutely essential thing for me is a bonnet to put on my hair at night or you can use a scarf as well. I do not like tie my hair up or anything under the bonnet. I literally just like, take a headband off or take my hair down, and then i put the bonnet right over my hair. That'S just what i prefer honestly, i'm pretty tender headed. So i like to let my hair be loose a little bit at night. So i just put the bonnet right over top, and that is that, and i will link the bonnet below it's super cheap, i'll, put an amazon link below to where you might be able to get a bun similar to this one, and it actually comes in multiple Colors, another thing that you can use is a different kind of bonnet and i use this less as a bonnet and i use it more as it's like a cute little hat, especially in the winter. So this is that grace ilie satin line cap this one. Actually, okay, so this one is more like a loose and then it has a little rim around the outside of it. This is not an oversized one, but if you have a lot of hair, you can get a bigger one versus this one, where it's silk. All the way almost to the rim of it, so you guys can see that it took almost all the way to the rim of it, and then the elastic is kind of hidden in there, and the entirety of this inside here is made out of satin. Oh yeah, this is a medium, so this is a size medium, but they do come in a bigger size and they come in multiple colors. So i wear this to sleep every once in a while, but i mostly wear it just like as a cat. You know like, if i put it over my hair like that, and it would be kind of you know, like a cute little thing like that or to tuck my hair in another way that i use this. A lot is, if i just washed my hair and i have somewhere to go i'll, go ahead and i'll do my braiding band. I wash my hair dry it off as much as i can, with the t-shirt and i'll put this on, because it actually looks like a cap. But i know it's going to protect my hair on the inside and i can go about my grocery shopping or whatever, and maybe even leave like a couple of twists or whatever at the front, but this right here works really well for that too, when you got Stuff to do it's just a little bit less tacky to walk around in this than it is to this. If you need to go to walmart and your hair is not ready to take down out of your braiding and bandy another thing that i do to my hair to protect from frizz and also from the elements as well is, if you know me, and a lot Of you guys do know me: i live in a ball cap. I love a ball cap moment, i'm from i'm from the south. We we're football people, we are bobcat people, you know your son's playing t-ball or whatever, and you got to keep the sun out of your eye, and so i was really sad when i got locked and i noticed that those regular ball caps were rubbing my hair. So so i actually received this one. It'S also the grace elia brand and i hope i'm saying her name right uh, but that's the side. The little tag that's on the side of it. This is just in black, it's adjustable on the back of it. So you can see it's adjustable on the back of it. You just kind of open this little clasp right here i have a really big head, so i had to adjust it out pretty far. The top of it is like when i first got it. It felt kind of like a one of those like trucker hats, but it's not really. It gets like softer over time and then, as you can see, the inside of this guys look at this, i'm like loving it. I just man. I wish i had thought of something like this, but the inside of it is saying even like this. They have like something covering the stitching and everything. Okay, so the only part - that's not saddened is actually this banded part back here, but that doesn't really bother me. So that's the only part that's not set. So this is the look at this hat. It'S something i use to kind of reduce frizz in my hair and actually still be able to do stuff like work out. Here'S a look at the front. It'S just plain: you could get embroidered. I guess if you wanted to have something on there and it came in different colors, but my best friend bought me this for my birthday and i've been wearing it like. I wouldn't try to inside some pictures, but i wear this thing all the time to the part with my kids and everywhere. Okay, so in the very last thing that i do to reduce frizz is i actually made myself a cover for my hair rest in my car, so i made up myself a cover for the hair rest in my car. It was so easy to make and so cheap like if you know how to sew it all. You know how to measure some things. I made it in like five minutes, but i basically just got some satin fabric. I think it was like 4.99, a yard at joanne if you have a joe in or hancock or hobby lobby, or something like that, and i did black because of course all my stuff is black and i cut it. I measured my the head rest of my car. I sewed the sides i put elastic at the bottom and that just is a slipcover over any seat that i sit in, especially in the winter months, to help protect my hair from breakage, but also protect my hair from getting frizzy right around the back of it. The crown of my hair tends to be more fragile and it's actually quite a bit shorter, as you guys can see, it's quite a bit shorter than the rest of my hair in comparison, and i think part of that has been in the past from rubbing against Things like the the back backup, seats and stuff, so i just carry that with me. It'S easy to take on and off. I take that with me and put over seed. So if i lean back on something, then it's not going to rub my hair and cause me to have a frizzy spot, but it's also not going to cause breakage on my hair and the very last thing that i do to reduce frizz on my uh. My micro locks is that i actually make sure my hair stays nice and moisturized. I think frizz over time comes from a lot of friction, and so most of the things that i told you guys have to do with friction. So you know your bonnet. So it's not rubbing against your pillow and using a t-shirt. So it's not rubbing against a towel and my headrest cover. So i'm not, you know, rubbing my hair against the back of the headrest, but when you keep your locs nice and moisturized by drinking a lot of water and then i also spritz my hair with water quite a bit, and i use a a hair milk to Keep my locs moisturized when i notice that they're getting dry, i notice that they're a lot less frizzy. Those are my tips guys if you're interested in the satin line ball cap. I put the link in the description below the same thing about the this bonnet as well, and i know she has other products, but these are like the only two that i've ever had. So i hope this video was helpful to you guys, if you're looking for more videos to help you on your journey of having micro blocks or sister lights, with fine low density hair. This video might here right here, you might find helpful. This is about what i've learned so far on my microlife journey with find low density hair and what it's really like so give it a click.
