$500 Microlink Fail | Ruined Boho Exotic Studio Bundles | Natural Curly Hair

I had a horrible experience with my microlink braidless sew-in. My Boho Exotic Studio bundles were ruined, and I cried REAL TEARS after wasting $500+.

This video was filmed on January 25, 2018. My original video consisted of me attempting to remove the sew-in with the help of my friends but the footage was deleted :(

Getting my new camera this week! Which means... no more low-quality videos!

Hey so I definitely have to work on my intro, but I just want to talk about the recent micro link. Braille is so lame that I got so. I actually tried to shoot this video yesterday actually did shoot yesterday and I shot it on this body. Cam camera because I, like the quality, a lot better, but it turns out that the sound was terrible and on top of that, while I was trying to import it to my computer, all the videos and pictures off my sd card deleted. So I'm reaching it now. So I was super interested in getting a micro like so, and I was actually looking forward to getting it in October November of 2018. So not that long ago I basically just typed in Instagram mark her Lake Chicago and I was looking through and I found a lady that I liked. Basically, I specifically asked because I wear my hair curly, so I I do wear curly hair from boho exotic studio. It'S my favorite place to buy hair from, and I was basically saying could you use my curly bundles? The woman assured me. Yes, I was trying to answer the question. She goes. Oh, we could talk about it after you pay the $ 125 deposit, which is also a consultation fee. I told her that I would pay her when I came back home for break so then I'm like okay cool, I'm gon na go ahead and buy my hair. So, instead of having to buy three bundles, I only had to buy two. So I'm like cool and boho exotic, so you had their sales slip, the sale for a 16 and 18 inch. I paid a total of 200 so adding the 125. I'M now at three hundred and twenty-five dollars for this style, without even getting anything done yet. So I go home of course, and I booked the consultation. She actually messaged me and says: oh, we can't meet in person. Is it okay? If we just do this over the phone, she says I'm not this unprofessional and I like the person. I am I'm like oh yeah, yeah, I'm just being so trusting I'm like it's fine. I sent her a picture of the hair. She knows this. I see their picture of my head. She said yeah, it's gon na work out, so I get to the shop I can get installed. Basically, she was like. Oh, I have to just blow dry her hair to put the links on I'm like cool, that's fine! I did condition with a hooded dryer, so I'm like heat whatever, and so then she does. She puts the links on and then my concern comes when she starts to cut my hair. What like from the right side, she cuts my weave without asking me, and this is not like a small amount of weed. It'S like hmm, like this much off my weave and I'm like, I would have just bought shorter hair like hair costs more when you get a longer length, so I'm like cutting my hair. I mentioned it. She goes yeah just to shape it. So then, I'm like well, she has to go ahead and cut the other side. Excuse me a mince, oh she does. Then I have another issue and she's not able to style my hair and it's state like it's curly state and I'm like you know what I'm just gon na style, my hair at home. So then cool uh. So here we go. I had to pay her another 125, so now we're at $ 450 and I didn't tip her because I wasn't happy with my service. I leave basically it's advertised that you can put this hair into a ponytail or this style into a ponytail. I guess it's only a high ponytail because even prior to putting my hair in a low ponytail, I already had like a broken track on the left side. So maybe I guess I was combing through my hair too rough. I can eat further, explain that because I don't think it mattered how rough I combed through my hair brush through it or whatever so the day, I put my hand to a low ponytail. It had been two weeks and well. The first track probably broke the first or second, the first or beginning of the second week. I had to hear it, but as soon as I slick my hair into a ponytail - basically I had it in for about like from maybe 9 a.m. like 8 p.m. so almost 12 hours, and I go home and mind you. I do feel like it is tension, but I'm like you know this is a so in so I wasn't thinking too much about it, but I go home and I take the pointer off and my whole left side like the tracks. The ends of the tracks are like broken, so I'm freaking out because I'm like I've literally had this style for a little over two weeks, and this is the style that is advertised to last from 8 weeks to 12 weeks. So I'm freaking out because that's why? I wasn't caring about the price, so I text her and she says you got to come in the next day. So of course I get there after you know I was told. Oh I know how to I could smell this with curly hair. She asked me, as I'm saying like like, let's string this hair and I have been wanting to show you my hair anyway yeah, so we shared the hair. I was happy with this. She fixed in time two tracks, I'm like cool and the next day I was leaving to go to Vegas and then I was gon na drive down to school. So literally I have the hair straight. She'S like you can wrap it. Just like your normal hair. I'M very happy with my hair. Actually I think I look very pretty the only thing is she mentioned since she cut my hair when it was curly, she was gon na have to cut it again, oh hell, no, which I forgot to mention. She cut my hair. Very uneven, so on the right side it was either the right or the left. One side was shorter than the other, so my track was uneven, so she has to cut it again to even it out once it was straight, of course, so yeah my 18h bundles. No longer 18, my 16 inch but is no longer 16 okay, and so then I go to Vegas the next day. I don't know what day was, but I know that I had to contact the stylist again on Sunday, because basically, all I did was wrapping my hair wrapping, my hair with a a brush in a comb, and then let me go back down and within one of Those days between Thursday and Saturday on the right side, a track broke on the side or the thread holding the track broke, and so I text her. I literally said I'm dissatisfied again because mind you when I got the hair straightened, oh you're, so dumb you are really bone, which is where we're at five hundred and five dollars mind you. I got my hair done on December 22nd. I went back to get my hair, like I guess touched up. I would say On January 9, so it had not even been a month it had. I took obviously took this hair out yesterday, but Tuesday January 22nd would have been me having the hair in for a month. So today I should have had the hair in for a month. In three days, just coming to LA when I first got back to school was very rainy, so of course my hair did not last. So it's very sad about that. Definitely so I had to end up washing my hair and, like you know, wearing it curly again, and this track is hanging even while the hair was straight. You know, as I started pooping up it wasn't that the hair was curly and I was combing through it. Hard that the tracks are breaking, it was just me, combing, through the hair period like the tracks over, it's like the tracks kept loosening. So I'm like okay, like what is happening, the tracks is loosening on this side. I got another track that broke and like I'm like this is supposed to last a month with the hair straight. It was very low manipulation. So I was just very confused to like what was happening like why this wasn't lasting and so then I go to wash my hair mind. You I'm very upset because I take this is the first track that actually I was trying to take my tracks out. I had a video of me attempting to take the tracks out which didn't work and actually, when I was trying to take it out myself, I did get it. I had to order pliers off of Amazon because you cannot take these links out without pliers and I was pulling my hair out. I actually stowed on a recording, like the hairball that I had, because I couldn't see per se, trying to take it out. So I was just pulling down my hair, like my hair, is probably all broken. That'S not a good piece, but definitely broken at the back of my head, definitely and um yeah, but the track I'm about to show you was originally 18 inches. This is what it looks like now and even yeah. Okay, it's curly. Okay, it's it's supposed to be curly, but this is not 18 inches because matter of fact, I don't have any 18 inch hair left because it was all in my head, but this piece of hair that I didn't use it's 16 inches. This is what it looks like 16 inches mind you also. The hair is damaged as well, but this is 16 inch air compared to the 18 inch head. So I paid you three hundred and five dollars for style that didn't even last me a month and I spent $ 200 on my boho exotic studio here. That is supposed to last me a year and it's he damaged, I'm very upset because I actually I wear this hair all the time and I people asked me like: oh, is this your real hair? I'M I love wearing curly extensions that look natural. I would definitely say from all of this that I learned I would never get a marker link, so in ever again, or even just a micro like so in Braille, is so in. However, you call it, but I wouldn't give my collegues period even if us to get like the eye tip extensions or just whatever that gets connected to my here. I realized, unless I can use the tool and tighten it myself. I I will not hit it or maybe it was just a person I went to. I don't know, but I honestly had the worst experience with this hairstyle and I have sores in my head. I forgot to mention: I literally have sores all through my head from these extensions pulling. So I'm just very unhappy with my experience. I don't see many people speaking about their bad experiences with my curling extensions. I have seen bad experience as I was looking at how to take out my extensions. I saw bad experiences in the comments people saying: oh, it pulls out your hair. Definitely once my roommate and some of my friends came in and take the extensions out, less hair was being pulled out, but my hair was definitely getting pulled out. While I had the extensions in because literally my hair was getting tangled with the tracks themselves, because all of your hair is left out and I had a even had to throw away a one whole part of my 18 inch tracks, because once I did that little Ponytail my hair got so tangled with the track, and the track was tangle that I was like you know what I'm saving my real hair over this track. I just also want to say I have no problem with boho exotics to do hair. This is my favorite hair. It is low worth the money. This is the eight millimeter Kurt, not a movie girl. This is a six millimeter curl and prior I had to a millimeter curl and I'm really sad. I'M gon na try weight on another sale to try and order some more hair from them. If anyone has any questions, you can definitely ask me, and I hope that anyone that was considering it in this style consider my experience and also consider other experiences, and there definitely are better stylist than the person who did my hair and thanks for watching. I feel that I feel that

LaToya Boggans: Its sounds like it was a poor stylist that's your issue, not the micro link style.

Jaianna: I just don’t get my hair done by anyone other than myself anymore. I’ve wasted so much money on stylists that don’t know how to work on natural hair.

Angel Martin: I love that you're smiling while telling this horrible story

Devine Elegance: Oh that stylist was definitely the issue! So sorry. I’m a stylist and this made me cringe at how much you paid for this not to last when it should have. Hope you find a better one near you.

Vivian Allen: I do my own micro links so can I just say, that the stylist you went to did not know what she was doing. Your first hint should have been when she cut the hair without your permission.

Monica: I'm so sorry. I've had the same experience. It's the worst to pay all that money and the service they provide is straight horse manure.

Oriana: I’ve had microlinks/micro wefts in for 5 weeks no slippage no problems and we have almost the same texture hair. For sure a stylist error. Plus I wash and deep condition weekly with no issues. Sorry this happened to you.

Grace: I think the stylist didn’t know what she was doing

The Pink Apartment: $125 deposit is so crazy!?!

Monique Falu: I'm sorry this happened to you. I can definitely relate to your situation. It may sound frivolous to some, however it's really stressful to spend money on a service that someone says their skilled in just to have it ruined! I would have been pissed too! Your a Gracious Beautiful young Woman, most would have put the Stylist on BLAST! I'm about to try ML for the first time. After watched your video I'm making sure whoever does my installation is knowledgeable. Thank you

Bri Lee: MICROLINKS ARE NOT SEW INS I REPEAT ARE NOT SEW INS!!! IF SHE TRYS TO PUT IN TRACKS RUN!

Marissa Williams: Girl I am from LA and I have a stylist that can provide you with microlinks if you want to try again... I am sorry for your experience.

Lucy Edmonds: I agree, this process takes time. That’s bad business...don’t get discouraged

Adrienne Yt 22: So sorry to hear about that terrible experience. I've never tried the micro braids, but have been intrigued. You are definitely changing my mind. Although I do firmly believe you were completely taken advantage of. That person is very unprofessional and a thief. You should share the name of the stylist. Good luck in the future. Happy hair journey! Btw. Did you ever break down and try again?

Zanobia: Yoo this same exact thing happened with me when I went to Just Extensions in L.A.. And I came in with 20"boho exotic studio bundles and walked out with the hair big chopped thanks to the dumb ass stylist. Smh. Some of these stylist be trippin

Shaniya Exum: Definitely the stylist!! I had micro links for a month (personally because I get tired of hair styles quick) and my stylist definitely didn’t pull my hair out putting them in or taking them out. I also had 18” raw Indian curly hair.

PRIVATE EYE: It's illegal for any professional to ruin your image or public image. I would check her background first to see if she is licensed then I would ask her for a copy of her policy. Then, I would get every thing up front for one set price. Then, I would tell her what I want and how I want it and what I do not want. I would then ask her if she could do that. Money is nothing. Business is everything first and you can not trust no one when you exchange money. Especially, if it is overpriced and under experienced. Petition all of your money back. You have pictures. It's time for a small claims case. Get your money back.

st4rr O: Oh my! It was definitely the stylist

Mai Milton, Esquire: Yep... I’m going through the same thing now. I had 3 beads come out by day 4. I’m just like ugggh.

Jasmine Marie: Wow. What an experience! I am definitely doing a huge amount of research before doing this style. The person has to have experience and great customer service. I don’t like going to consultations that cost so much money. Why are you charging so much just to talk to me? And I want to see your work…a GOOD chunk of work with hair like mine before you get my money.

Roz Acting Coach: Thanks for your honesty. On instagram Microlinkedhair shows you how to do them yourself. I have done it successfully.

Airraca Lee: I would look into I-tip kinky curly microlinks. Everything I’ve seen on those looks legit, it’s something I’m considering!

Yoldine. Imhere: It can last for 6 months with up keep omg she’s a fraud but there is a law for that ...I’m so sorry

Remilaku's All Natural Beauty Salon and Spa: It's the stylist not you. I do that style all the time. No problems with anyone

chickitie34: Naaaww! I hope you got your money back or most of it from that stylist because she robbed you!

V Richards: Sounds like you got what you paid for. I’ve never heard of microlinks for less than $450 just for the install. And that’s on the low end! So her pricing would have been a red flag for me.

Hannah Thomas: I got straight microlinks and I am looking a mess with this natural 4c hair coming out my head

Hair Krush: I hear a lot of problems. So for one this style can cost anywhere from $500-$1000 it can be costly. Also on the stylist end the communication should have been very clear from the beginning. The style although is meant to last for a while does require maintenance.

cindy ragin: Sounds like the stylist couldn’t deliver what she promised. Sorry you had to go through this! If you want to try again, I suggest contacting @metowi on Instagram to find a good stylist in your area. I’ve been very pleased with my microlinks and have had no issues with breakage, or damage to scalp/hair. I have friends who’ve worn them for years with no problems. I wear ponytails and buns—low and high—several days a week and have never had torn/broken tracks.

Vanessa Shaw: I know this is an old post but I do hope you got some sort of reparations. I cannot stand rip offs or at the very least incompetent.

Travis Armstead: I do apologize about the hair but you the most attractive YouTuber ever . Keep making great videos, you have good content

Felicia Boston: How tf does a track break? That is the hair companies fault....that must be terrible hair....a good company to purchase them from double wefts the hair....so appalling ...I also HATE when they cut the expensive weave without permission...I really dislike when a stylist gives you what THEY want instead of what YOU want....soooo annoying

LaChelle Sweets: When she said cut I said

Rose tempel: GIIRL I HAD MY HAIR DONE NYC SHE IS GREAT.

Michelle: The stylish was definitely the issue. Next time get some references and save yourself some heartache.

AJ: I am getting curly hair extensions and getting them done in Chicago, I am nervous now lol! I was gonna get charged 1200 for the hair and installation.

nadia b: Omg I wish I had seen this video before I got my microlincs yesterday

Felicia Boston: A stylist is supposed to cut the hair to blend it duhhh...I’m not even a hair stylist and I know this

Olivia Butts: when you held the hair up i literally gasped

Iman Not Imani: Try a wig next time... I’ve been wearing wigs exclusively for about 3 1/2 years now and I will never go back to sew ins. They’re so much better for your hair especially if you have a wig that’s not sewn down

Lucy Edmonds: Please use a license stylist... not a YouTube professional...lol

EVANS: I say get braid in bundles from boho.

Jasmine Cumberbatch: Poor stylist

Charla Russe: I apologize that you had such a horrible experience. I have had a few bad beauty shop experiences in the past prior to getting a real professional hair stylist. This is the main reason that I only let my beautician that I have been going to for over 7 years now do my hair. My mom once had a beautician who left her almost bald headed. She went from almost mid back hair length to ear length. Now that she no longer get her hair done at a salon, her hair has grown back to its original length.

Buss IT: Then track with beads do not last 8 to ten weeks. They last 2 to 3 weeks... You talking about micro link strands. You misunderstood.. That bond isn’t the best.

EVANS: WHEN WAS DAT SALE??????

Felicia Boston: Ummm why did you tell us about issues with your camera or whatever in the beginning? We literally don’t care we came to see you talk about hair not your life story ...I seriously dislike when you tubers do this

Alia Steele: Get ALLL your money back frrr

Alexis Smith: Getting microlinks is not cheap. I have been getting microlinks for 9 months. I’m from Jersey and drive to Brooklyn to get them done. On my way there one day I questioned “why am I spending all this money just to do my hair myself everyday” lol this is not a low maintenance style AT ALL. Yes I loved the fullness and versatility but honestly this style is a waste of money.

Lil Jgil: well...it really seems like a mixture of both ..you an your stylist made mistakes....first off you really can't wash your hair everyday with the sewless track micro rings.....second if you experience problems with your hairstyle...a good professional hairstylist would..should have called you back in to correct the issue ...if you could not make it back in at that time..due to whatever reason reason...should have offered you a later date...or reimbursement ..so can maybe find someone else to correct the situation... ok now back to the wrongs or rights with micro ring tracks..when you come your hair out you should use some leave in conditioner...water..wide tooth comb n brush...

Maya Ellis: God loves you and wants to have a relationship with you. Talk to Him like you would talk to a person. Read the Bible. You can download the Bible app. You can start reading from Genesis, Matthew, psalms or proverbs. You can watch this show called the Chosen to help you understand the Bible better. Spread His Word (Stories of the Bible and The Coming of God). Live for Him ( obey the rules set out for you in the Bible, learn from stories in the Bible and try to be like Jesus) . It’ll be hard but God never said it’ll be easy 2 Corinthians 4:16-18. You will gain eternal joy. Joy is being hopeful in good and bad times because you know WHO (GOD) is in control

Mattie Gilliam: Why are young ladies spending that kind of money on such thing that has no value. Save for a home.

Regina Payne: Tell me y would u get hair and u got hair 500 dollars to waist it could have been donation to feed a family. Thats crazy. Ur hair is very pretty itself. I guess if u got it like that do what u do.

Truth Prevail: Your stylist isn’t all to blame, you also make some mistakes. First, you have to go in to tighten them every 2weeks & don’t take off the extensions at home. Check @metowi on IG to see what I mean. FYI when curly hair is straightened it becomes uneven and frayed on the ends, that’s why your stylist cut it to even it out to get that long bob look. Next time I suggest doing large barrels curls to camouflage the unevenness. Mishaps happen when hair unravels, just communicate with your stylist. I won’t recommend anyone to DIY micro links, improper installation & removal can cause bald spots (alopecia). Women of all ethnicities do micro links, let’s enjoy the trend beautiful ladies. ❤️
