How To BOX BRAIDS for Beginners

#howtobraid #boxbraids #beginnerbraids

Hey, I was up it to me in this Ruby today, I'm going to talk to you guys about how to achieve the perfect braid. If you want to see a full tutorial on this style, make sure you subscribe to my channel, as I will have the full tutorial for this look up very soon, but for now we're just going to focus in on the braid okay. So what I like to do is have a size chart and a size ring. This is basically because I can show my clients what their options are now. This particular client requested a braid in between two sizes, so usually, what I'll do is I'll hold the braids up, try to get an idea and estimate make sure that the size is correct and then proceed. This is vonti. This is actually very popular product. That'S used for braids, I usually like to put it on top of the hair just to help it add some like shine and sleekness to the hair, but she does already have a hair cream conditioner in there. So right now, what I'm doing is separating the hair. Make sure that you get the right amount of consistent amount every time make sure you stretch the hair as such, so that the ends are frayed so that when you get to the bottom of the braid, it's not blunt now. How I achieve the perfect braid is with a method I like to call separating at the root, I'm pretty sure, I'm not the only one who does this, but I've noticed that a lot of people don't do it, so I want to share it with you. I just attached this hair over her natural hair and, as you can see, every time I'm twisting and turning I'm separating piece of the synthetic hair and a piece of her hair so that it blends together. I found that when I separate all of the hair to even it out at the root I'm able to achieve a clean braid from start to finish and then I go in and add some vonti when necessary. The Vantaa is really good to help lay the hair down, especially natural kinky hair, that's still in its natural state. That'S not used to being straightened out. Vonti works really good. Make sure that when you're braiding down anytime, that you encounter feel that it's not even that you go in and you borrow hair from other strands, there's nothing wrong with it unless you're borrowing huge chunks at a time you see how small that was just make sure You grab little tiny pieces and criminally as you move down the braid. So that way you can maintain a nice sleek look and everything looks even without it being knotted up another benefit of separating out the root is that you're able to grip the hair together? Really tight because now you have three strands of the natural human hair, mixed with the three strands of synthetic, so there's grip all the way around now I could just go in and grip really super tight, but what's the point of being extra painful to the client When you can help lay their hair down in an alternative way, my clients usually say that my braids don't hurt, but for some reason they stay in a long time, and I think it's because I'm separating at the root I'm going to show you. Lastly, what I do once I'm finished braiding the hair down just to clean it up, and that is going in with some shears and nipping off any of the loose ends that might be hanging out. I know that some people say you can dip the hair and that will lay those down and in a lot of cases it will, but sometimes you'll see like just really large pieces hanging out and that's just ugly, so make sure that you take care of their Braids and go in and nip the excess pieces away, as you can see right here, I'm kind of like twisting the braid to give you guys an example of how she should be able to pull these braids up into a ponytail wear them down. Wear them to the side whatever, and the hair should move, that's another benefit of separating at the root. A lot of my clients have reported to me that, even if the braids look good, sometimes when they get them done from someone else, they're not really able to be this flexible, and so this wasn't on purpose. I didn't like try to develop a method. This is just kind of how I learned to braid throughout the years and it works for me, like I said I hope it works for you make sure you guys subscribe to this channel thumbs this video up and share it. If you like it, and also, I will be doing a full tutorial on this, look so subscribe to the channel and look forward to that. Video god bless you bye, bye,

Wendy H: Your video on how to braid with extensions was very good. It was clean, concise and to the point. Now I am going to braid my hair!
