***DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a hairdresser, and I do not claim to be a professional when it comes to coloring hair. THIS IS JUST A VIDEO OF MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE when I colored my hair myself. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, or you have never colored your hair yourself, I definitely suggest that you not try this at home, and go to a salon!!! :)

Hi guys um, so today I will be coloring my hair, and that is what this video is going to be on. I will obviously show you the process of me dying it. What I'm doing and everything what I'm using and then I will then show you the results, let's get into the video hi guys, okay. So since you can obviously tell by the title and clearly you can tell by just looking at my hair that this little experiment that I tried to ombre, my hair did not exactly go as I planned. Dena go as well as I wanted it to so. This whole process actually took me five full days. I started it last Saturday and last night was the last time I colored my hair. I did my hair and my extensions, so I'm going to talk through this whole video. I filmed each day that I colored my hair, so I'm going to just talk you through that explain all the products that were completely useless, the ones that kind of worked and also the extensions that you absolutely cannot bleach, because I learned that the hard way so That is what I'm going to be explaining in this video okay. So the first product that I used on my hair was the L'Oreal wild. I break it and I bought it actually like a month or two ago and I've been contemplating on whether I wanted to UM bring my hair again. I did it last spring and I thought I knew what I was doing, but I just used different products. Last time, I believe it used the Revlon highlighting kit, the one that everyone uses to ombre their hair. So I heard about the L'Oreal one and I was like okay, let me try it so I bought it had it sitting in my room for like a month or two and then finally, I decided I want to change it's a summer time. I want to light hair up a little bit, so I was look alright. Let'S do it. The saddest part about all of this is that it's not my first time on bring my hair, so I should have some idea of what I'm doing so um yeah. That just makes it even sadder. First mistake that I need was, I put my extensions in and tried to color my hair with my extensions in and that's what I did last time and it worked perfectly fine, but I think I put too much hair in my head. So when I went to color my hair, the color wasn't getting on my extensions as well, so that was my first film. So then, after I used up the whole um bottle from the kit that obviously wasn't enough dye for my all my hair, so I ended up finding some bleach that I had laying around from when I used to bleach my hair like two years ago, mixed a Bowl of that, and then I added that, on top of it wrapped it up in foils - and I kept my extension that again because I already had the color on my hair and my extensions and it was just gon na - be a whole mess. If I tried to take them out so that was day one you and after I've rinsed out my hair after the first day from using just the ombre kit and a little bit of the bleach, the results weren't exactly what I had expected. I was anticipating more like an orange, a yellow tone and what I got really was like a dark red, burgundy color. So oh and the color did not even pick up on my extensions at all. It just picked up about an inch of the tips of my hair and it was like a dark red color, as you can see in the picture. The reason why I thought that the color didn't take as well was because I used a low developer. I only had a 20 volume developer. I didn't have anything higher laying around my house, so that's all that I had and that's all that I'd used. So I thought maybe that was the reason why they didn't pull too, that yellow orange color. But I still don't know if that's the reason why or not so the next day what I did was just mixable of bleach with again the 20 volume developer, because that's all that I had and I figured I would try to go over what I had bleached. The previous day, hoping that maybe the color would lift a little more so this time I did not do my extensions in my hair. I did that separately um. As you can see. I laid my extensions out on the floor. I know not the most ideal way to do it, but that's all that I could do and I just lay them down on tinfoil and then just put the color on the ends. Then I did my bottom tips. I throw separately. I put the I love the color on my hair for about half an hour rinsed it out for the results that I got, and these are what my extensions turned out like the weft. That'S all the way to the left. That is my hello gorgeous. I think they're in the shade 1b. Those were the only ones that pulled to the color that I thought they would. The wefts in the middle, I believe, are the foxy locks and Bellamy's and those were like a burnt like a weird brown, gray, color and then the ones that are all the way to the right that looked like a silver gray, color, actually hello, gorgeous as well, Except they're in jet black, so I learned I could not bleach the jet black ones, even though later on, I tried again and they just ended up getting worse and worse. Okay so day three, I kept hearing reviews on this stuff called Color Oops and I definitely read up on it for saw videos of people that had used it, and I had heard that it turned people's hair orange, which is exactly what I had wanted. So naturally, I ran to raid aid bought a box, got that and tried that out on my hair, and let me just tell you, actually, I can't even describe to you how god-awful this stuff smelled like it's. It was a mixture of rot like a million rotten eggs and sulfur mixed together, like I it was just disgusting like. I will absolutely never use that stuff ever again, despite the fact that it didn't even work and didn't even do anything to my hair. The smell alone is enough for me to never ever even want to think about buying that stuff, and just did it the same way that I applied. The bleach put it on my ends, wrapped it up in foil, and then I did it on my real hair. Just at the ends and this stuff, you can only um leave on your hair for about 20 minutes, so I had to act really quickly and then I rinsed it out. This is the results that I got okay, so we are now on to day four, and I don't have a Sally's near me, so I was really trying to avoid the drive there, but I was so fed up at this point that I just made the drive To Sally's and I ended up buying the beyond the zone, bleaching kit, which I again read up on, watch videos of people that really recommended it. So that's what I bought and then I saw that it came with a 40 volume developer. So I knew that from previous times in the past, when I bleached my hair, that legit turned my hair white, so I was like okay, this stuff will definitely work, so I was convinced that this stuff would work on my extensions at least extensions that had turned This disgusting gray, silver color, and if you don't believe me, I actually kept them. These actually were my hello gorgeous ones in like in the 1b dark brown color. So I'm actually shocked that they didn't pull to this color, but it actually looks more like a lavender color, but yeah. That'S what happen and the ends are totally fried, so those are going in the garbage - and this is the jet black hello, gorgeous left totally like. If you could, I don't know if you could really tell but like its legit grey and that you could just see like one of them. I tried cutting them to see if I could salvage a little bit of it, but it's going to be too short. These are my foxy locks ones that have also turned that weird gray color. I don't know why they look purple in the camera, but maybe it's the lighting animal but yeah the one one minute, unfortunately have to get rid of. So on this attempt, I got a couple more wax of extensions. They are the hello gorgeous in the 1b off black and luckily those I had a little more luck with them. Um it just sucks that I had to waste so much hair, that's really not cheap. At all, so again I did the same exact process. I did with the bleach with the Color Oops lay the extensions out on the ground oil colored. The ends wrap them up, left them in for about half an hour, and then I applied the color to my ends as well and left it on a little less, because I didn't need them to be on that lawn and once I rinsed it out the result That I got was actually not much different than after when I use the color oops, so I don't know how pointless that was, but that was not the end. Okay, so the fifth and final day uh. I actually ended up going to CVS getting more box dye, which probably again didn't do anything to my hair, and I originally wanted to get that super blonde lightening kit that I read a lot of reviews on and unfortunately they didn't have it in stock. So I ended up getting the Feria um bleach blonde highlight I don't it's a highlighting kit, but it was very a bleach blonde, something and um. I used that put that on my hair again didn't really do much. I didn't really notice the difference in anything. So, though, my hair did look a little light, it was a little too yellow. So I had the day before at Sally's purchased a color. It was a demi-permanent color and that was in a neutral light, blonde color. So right after I washed out the UM L'Oreal bleach blonde stuff, I immediately applied that other color on put that on, for, like maybe 25 minutes, I used that as a toner actually just to like tone everything down, so it wasn't so vibrant. I didn't want to go from like jet black to like plan I'm hair, even though I had originally wanted the ends to be a little darker. I wanted them say more of like a brown, but I mean I could always change that, but I really do not want to ruin any more extensions. That is the last thing that I had done and again my extensions didn't really come out and my hair didn't really come out as I anticipated it to so that was my epic failure. Ombre experiment that took me five days. That'S why I haven't posted up a video in almost a week and I'm actually leaving for vacation in two days, I'm just going down to the shore for a week tour our shore house, that we go to every summer. Oh, I hope you guys enjoyed my little journey with me through this and I hope you guys learned um. Just from my experience, things that didn't work do not bleach jet black hair extensions, and I also read that remy hair extensions um when they're made they are. They have a special coating on them or something that prevents you from being able to color them and bleach them. So I don't know why all these companies say that you can color them the only way you can color any type of extensions. If, if it's a hundred percent human hair, so definitely remember the axe, that's definitely big lesson that I learned so again. I hope you guys enjoyed this and I hope it was useful for those who are planning on doing this or would want to do this in the future. So I will see you guys in my next video you

WooDnHooks: Thank you for posting! You provided a lot of useful info. Even though it didn't turn out like you would have wanted, it still looks gorgeous!

Assault_N_Spice: I think it's important to share the Times that something didn't work out, so we know what to avoid or do differently. Soo thank you for posting! I'm sorry, hope it worked out your hair looks incredible now!!

Noire Beaute Company: The reason your extensions turned out the way they did is because the extensions are not true virgin unprocessed hair. The extensions were previously dyed. The dye used typically is not the same quality dye that is used at a salon which is why when you attempted to lift the color it, it wouldn't work right away and after the 2,3 attempt it turned grey. Please check us out. We have great extensions that you wouldn't have any trouble coloring

Tyara Walker: Love this video !! But did the bleach damage your hair a little afterwards ? If so, what did/do you use to fix or help that out

Laura Wallis: I actually think your hair in the end looked amazing despite ruining extensions. Your hair now looks gorgeous you really pull it off.

Rachele Garcia: It actually looks really nice, to be honest. I like the coloring. I think it came out pretty cool.

Jordan Farr: Thanks for sharing your wild hair adventure... sorry you had to deal with all that but your hair looks fabulous now:)

LMH: Girl...don't care what the haters say. Thanks for making this video, I've been contemplating getting my hair ombre'd but I may decide to go for it after all. You rock xo

Sun Seeker: The expensive extensions can come with a silicone layer on every single strand, which means it resists bleach or color. There's a long process to remove said layer, which can cause some pretty annoying tasks, which can, as you said, stink when it mixes with bleach or color.

Ashley Murphy: i used the same product for my ombre! i wish i found this video like three months ago

Ellenor Caller: Your hair colour looks really nice, Ive got bleach blonde hair and I'm thinking of going this colour for winter x

Rob Caldwell: Candy underneath has it right :) Extensions can be coloured the company we use for extensions 'balmain' can be coloured but only darker not lighter like you tried.

hunnybee1z: I bought blonde extensions and dyed the top part darker... makes it easier then bleaching ;)

mamitalindax3: Beautiful hair , you are perfect ! <3

Ashley xo: I wish I could dye my hair with this dye because Marzia dyed her hair with this ombre kit and it came out great. But I feel like mine won't come out the same way.

R B: Color Oops is for stripping dye from your hair, it is not a bleach. I dyed my hair dark brown and then decided to go back to my natural color. I used Color Oops to strip out the dark brown dye and it did just that. It removed the dye and returned my hair to its natural shade of medium brown.

Faaea Letuli: Bellami extensions are the hardest to decolorize...I actually had the most luck with decolorizing the 18 in extensions from Sally beauty which I think are about $130

monicatubesalot: Next time, just do a strand test with the bleach on your extensions. That's what I did. If they don't change color in 30 minutes then they can't be bleached. Also I like the way she talks. It makes me relaxed & puts me to sleep.

Nadine Schumann: Thank you for sharing this video :) The end result of your hair turned out really well. shame you had to waste so much time and money :,(

Shannon Victoria: I know the Bellami extensions are a little pricey but they have a Guy Tang range which is like the perfect ombre and balayage extensions

shawna rocks her feathers with hoops: omg girl I wish you lived near me, I have doing my own hair for almost 15 years now I would of hooked you up, even though you had some trouble I love your hair regardless! doing ombre in my hair tonight :)

callme me: And:if you want to ombre your extencions:PLEASE!PUT THEM OUT!!TAKE BLOND ONES AND DARK THEM!that always works:-)

eellie: Your hair is so beautiful, oh my god!

Alix Gibbs: It will definitely lighten it more, but prob also damage it a little more too. Just use a really good deep conditioner! :-)

Alix Gibbs: Yes bleach will always damage, I used the Moroccan Oil deep conditioner

Lori L: I used that Feria ombre kit last Summer and it was disastrous. I had the ring of fire around my hair. Horrible orange crazy color. I bought purple based toners to calm it...nothing worked. It took about three bleachings to get rid of it.

Beeber Taylor: Your NEVER supposed to bleach extensions. You can buy them lighter and go darker and or low light them w a demi permanent color. You can make your natural hair look less damaged w good treatments but once you dehydrate your extensions there is no going back. Good luck ladies.

Anna Hernandez: idk why she seems upset it came out gorgeous even tho she messed up a lot of extensions

Becca Payne: I love the color oops. It's meant to take hair color out of your hair. I had been coloring my hair red for a year I used the color oops and it took all the red out. So I could color it brown. It did smell god awful. And the smell stayed in my bathroom for like a week. But it got the color out and that's all that mattered.

Anne Hansen: you should buy Your Extensions the color you want Your ends to be, and then just buy the black color that your own hair is - and color the top. Then you can mesure how far you need the dark color to og Down :) and then you wont ruin Your Extensions With bleach :) just a tip btw...

Isabel Valdez: I had my hair red dyed it black the next day i bleached the bottem part not all the way to the roots nd it came out good! Just left it for 10 min

Alix Gibbs: Thank you! :-)

SickLucifer: Damn, seems like you went on quite the journey..Just a quick little suggestion, if you ever mess up extensions, instead of throwing them out you can just cut them into clip on bangs!(:

rockinpoison89: Actually looks good, i like the color

JusttJordan: Actually, the purpose of color oops is solely to strip your hair of any color pigment that's in it, not including bleached hair. It is completely normal for Color Oops or any other type of hair color remover to cause your hair to turn orange or brassy because it contains hydrosulfite which is essentially the same thing as bleach. The purpose of Color Oops is just to get any previous pigment out of your hair so that you can re-color it to the color that you want with out packing on more pigment.

joni sala: Most hair extensions are colored with metallic dyes,,, very very difficult to bleach

Alix Gibbs: I use ion color brilliance creme color from Sally's in #2N Darkest Brown :-)

Ariin Alan: Your hair must be proper damaged, you need to wait 4-6 weeks after you've bleached/dyed it, it's not good just to keep re applying it everyday.

Koko56767: A lot of people on YouTube tend to buy the lighter shade extensions and then dye the top end black/brown and leave the lighter shades at the bottom, I'm thinking about doing this, maybe you should try it this way in the future.

0169littlemonster: Btw they turned out like that bc some extensions have coating on them so they won't lift like normal hair

Alix Gibbs: Thanks! <3

Alix Gibbs: Thank you!

callme me: Why dont you guys dont buy allready ombre hair extencions?? They are awesome and blend beautifully

Yary Seabrease: Girl for all the money you wasted on box dye you could of gone to a salon. I learned the hard way a few years ago. And now i am finishing my ombre tomorrow. Ive been doing it with less bleach and i have took two months. The healthier way is patience and barely use bleach.

Ashley Aguilar: Hi! I'm getting Foxy locks in cocoa and wanted to know if you were able to lighten them? I would appreciate your response. Thanku.

shay adams: If you got your extensions in black, there's a good chance that they dyed it with fabric dye which is pretty hard to remove. It's easier to get light extensions and just dye them dark.

kittensx6: Color oops, is to remove already dyed color. Which is why your hair was lifted but not the extensions. Color oops. Fixing the oops from your color.

Alix Gibbs: Aw thank you :-)

Megan: thank you!

EDITH LOPEZ: lil tip from a hair dresser.. 1- if you are going to dye hair extensions try to buy a light blonde something like a 613 and if your hair is black its easier to dye them black than the other way around 2-if you are going to bleach hair extensions buy unprocessed hair like BOBBI BOSS BONELA BRAZILIAN  HAIR they are not that pricy an '18 its about $69.99 3-when bleaching do not repeat right after u just bleached wait about 24-48 hrs  4-be realistic you cant possibly go from a 1b natural color to a bombshell blonde in a day it takes time and last the higher the developer the brighter the color   hope this helps in the future for anybody ;)

Rachel S: And if you want ombré extensions, start with blonde extensions. JC..

Tyara Walker: Oh okay thank u ! And where can i buy the morrocan oil deep conditioner ?

SA J: If I've bleach my virgin black hair to achieve ombre once before. The result was a red bronzey color but if I use this over my bronzey hair will it lighten it more or just dry it out?

Paty Mendoza: Its actually quite funny how popular your hair image became after all the struggle cx

MsBeautyBee: I actually tried this with one of my luxy hairs and it wouldn't bleach as well. Luckily I tested on one strand first so I only ruined one 1 clip weft. Hello gorgeous sells ombre extensions now but they r quite pricey n I don't really wanna splurge since they don't take returns. :(

ogcoldangel69: it probably would've been easier to just buy a higher developer after the first time

laurap702: I got my hair dresser to bleach my extensions 3 times and they won't go past a brassy pink colour lol

Tierra D: I really like how it turned out to be honest. Lol

Dagmar Janschová: so beuty,, hair  :-)

Janice Shin: Why do you need tin foil??

Yary Seabrease: Girl for all the money you wasted on box dye you could of gone to a salon. I learned the hard way a few years ago. And now i am finishing my ombre tomorrow. Ive been doing it with less bleach and i have took two months. The healthier way is patience and barely use bleach.

Lashuna M: were the extension synthetic

Jazmine McAlily: color oops takes away permanent and semi permanent hair color like box dyes or manic panic and returns your hair to its original color thats why you didnt see any change and its not supposed to change your hair to orange whoever video you saw failed at color oops. if you bleach your hair and then use color oops it wont take your hair back to brown but to the bleached color. hope i helped :)

Thalia Aliyah: 20 vol developer won't lift your black hair at all. the best way would be to use 30 or 40 vol in the future, it lifts right away!

Angelica Violette: well I mean, your hair looks nice + it smells bad bc it's bleach, and a lot of hair dye smells pretty bad too

Yesi Arroyo: i love your hair <3 tho ....

Anna: So the Bellami didn't lighten at all? I have Off Black Bellami and I want to use 30 developer on them with the L'oreal hicolor hilghts in magenta do you think it would do the same thing and not lift? I'm so annoyed that Bellami claim to have 100% remy human hair but yet it cant be lightened, grrr

supportrtroopz: I think It looks good, I noticed you didn't saturate your hair enough with the color, your wrecking your hair coloring back to back,

Rachel S: Why throw them away. Just dye them black and cut them

Monnia Love: pretty

Crystal Mora: You should have bought your extensions the color you wannted the tips and dyed the to black then with yur natural hair lighten it to same color

Alondraa Vazquez: were can I buy a rack like tht to put nail polish

La Maria Bake: i saw your hair at tumblr :D

Guaidi Morado: i thought the gray looks lavenderish

Nicole W: Omg you must have gone through so much foil lol, why didn't you just go to a salon?

Randi Nicely: So what worked the best? My extensions are as dark as yours..

Shai Loveless: I like the color. O.o but yeah.. Bellami is a scam from what I've seen and heard. The hair sheds badly..

Jenna Duff: Hello hate to say but your very lucky after day 3 not to mention day 4 & 5 that u still any of ur own hair!!(& I say with all do respect & professionalism-I did graduate Cosmetology & went on to get my my State Board License) HAIR+CHEMICALS=TO BE VERY TRICKY & THEY MASS PRODUCE FOR AVERAGE AMERICAN HAIR, WHEN ENACT WE ALL ARE VERY DIFFERENT HAIR TYPES, TEXTURES, & OBVIOUSLY COLOR. AND MOST IMPORTANT "ALWAYS"....no matter A-L-W-A-Y-S make sure u perform a 2 thing's if ur insistent on DIY hon. #1 PERFORM A "SKIN PATCH TEST", (behind ur ear or on the back of elbow at least 24 hours preferably 48 hrs prior, this will ensure u have NO ALLERGIC REACTION TO PARTICULAR CHEMICALS. #2. PRETTY MUCH SAME TYPE PROCESS (TIME & EVERYTHING) BUT PICK OUT SMALL AREA OF HAIR takes SMALL STRANDS (enough to see brush color you've selected-obviously if before time then u must ABORT IMMEDIATELY U PROBABLY HAD A A ALLERGIC REACTION.) As to ur Tutorial sounds in my Professional Opinion-YOU REALLY OVER PROFESSED UR HAIR & THE EXTENSION (& IDK Who told u..but REMY HAIR is usually ONLY 100% Human!! & high quality.. experimented with all types. Although they say u can color/bleach. ..WHY?? there luxurious as are. U may be able howeve to salvage them by using semi/demi permanent color choice before permanently!! BLESS UR HEART BEEN WRONGLY GUIDED IT SOUNDS...JUST THOUGHT WOULD TRY & HELP-HOPEFULLY DID!! Can also find me on Twitter jlynn_dd Best Regards :)

Paola Huerta: Ur hair is black that's why but it still looks good

sarahi lopez: Do a give away on those extensions you are going throw awat

Its VerosLife: I'm surprised your hair didn't fry

Kirsten Coahran: U should give me those extensions :)

Tabatha: I think it's pretty

Sara Vargas:

okinawa13: Your extensions that went that horrible color must be a mixture of human hair and synethic hair (synethic hair wont take any color at at all) many hair companys use a mixture and try to pull them off as 100% human hair which is wrong. OR the extensions have been colored black and then treated so the black color doesnt come out. The chemicals that they  treat the hair with coat the strands to lock in the color and so when you try to colour or bleach it just doesnt work! I hope this helps, not just for you but for others wanting to do this! It turned out lovely in the end! Pretty girl!

Shoal Anderson: its katy perry from roar. ;)

Alejandra a.: Como hablasss , no pusiste nada :/

sarahi lopez: Away
