Video Details: Brandi showcases how she styles her Microlink extensions.

Hey y'all and welcome back to brandy, beauty tv today i am the model and i'm gon na be doing my micro links well i'll, be styling. My micro links, i've already shampooed and blowed them dry because y'all it takes so much effort and energy to shampoo. Your own extensions, especially when you have to like lean over so i was like. Let me just go ahead and just go ahead and do that part because nobody needs to see me struggle. So, of course, i'm gon na go ahead and start with applying my heat protectant. Even when i'm wearing extensions, um or any type of you know anything extra, i always still apply heat protectant because you know just because you're not wearing your own hair or even if it's just a blend of your own hair. You still want to always make sure that your hair is protected from the heat. Even if it's minimal heat that'll be applied, you don't want to take any chances with that. So i'm going to be doing that and then i'm going to press it out and apply these really beautiful will not apply. But i'm going to be curling my hair and doing like these really pretty kind of like it's going to be a beach wave situation. Kind of sort of thing you know when it comes to my own hair, i don't really do have put that much effort into it. Um, i'm really just like a wake up and go kind of person like the quickest and easiest option. I have that's normally what i go to um. So that's what i'll be doing today and i was really feeling myself with these macro links, y'all, because i don't change my hair very often because i don't really have the time to, but i rock these for about two months. I actually like just kind of took them out and yeah. I feel i was. I became a whole new person, the entire two months. Okay, so yeah we're just gon na have a little chat and y'all. Just gon na watch me like pretty much just style it and, of course i'll. You know, be answering questions that i normally get here and there so guys my micro links they're sewn in basically, i don't have them attached just by the bead. Only because my hair is really really thick uh. What well i see that back, it's not really thick, but it's dense, like it's thick from root to tip, but as far as how much hair i have on my head, it's more like kind of just medium and my strands are medium as well. So that meant that for me, since my hair is so full from root to tip that i need to um, i kind of had to build a whole new kind of hairstyle. So, instead of just adding links to what i already had, i kind of put my hair in beads and then wrapped the weft around that row and just sewed it together like a sandwich. So i kind of just sandwiched it like that, and i had i didn't - have any hair between um in between my rows. Maybe none of my natural hair was left out between, so it was literally just stacked one after another, and i left the perimeter out and i also left the top of my hair out. So i could have access to flip my part, but i didn't flip it at all. Actually, i actually could have added more hair, because the only thing i did was just wear a middle part, the entire time um, which is actually not my go-to, but it just naturally just kind of fell like that. So i went with it because it was pretty um and so yeah, that's kind of how i have mine and of course you know, as i've mentioned before in my other micro link, videos, um micro links are not for everybody and it's definitely more on the luxury And kind of more upscale, um upscale group of like hair extensions because of the maintenance it requires like any single time. You know someone gets extensions, i always mention you might wanna. You might wan na know about that maintenance, more so than the actual install, because the install that's one, you know that's one day, but are you gon na be able to maintain it and get back in the salon to maintain that? And so for me, i know i don't have that kind of time, so a double micro length it was for me. I didn't have time to be fooling around with all those beads, so yeah um. Just keep that in mind when you're um opting for extensions and stuff. Let me honest with you sometimes a traditional sew in is the best way to go, because there's no maintenance really with that. Once it's sewn in you're good to go, you can shampoo it a couple times while you're wearing it and that'll. Be that, but any single time you start talking about the more versatility you have with extensions, the more maintenance nine out of 10 times it's gon na require also y'all. I need to mention that i did not install these by myself like i am not that skilled. I don't know anybody who can install micro links, i'm sure it might be somebody out there, but it ain't me y'all just ain't, so i had my sister installing for me and i just kind of just you know directed her and she knows how to do hair. Anyway, but she don't like to do it on other people, if that makes sense, so she hooked me up and i just uh styled it and kind of face framed it myself, and i had me some micro lengths, because that's what i wanted and um, i probably Won'T be wearing them for actually i don't know when i'm going to install them again if it'll be a long time, that's how long it'll be. I can't even tell you when, because uh, when i do wear things of this nature, i don't normally do it more than once or twice a year. I normally wear my hair, probably eight months out of the year. I don't really wear a lot of um braids and extensions and whatnot, because y'all they really can be very, very, very damaging, and you always want to make sure that your hair is getting the the treatment that it deserves. You don't want to skip out on caring for your own hair, any single time. You have extra things like that in your hair. It'S you're not protecting it. You know with the protective styles and stuff you're actually harming it, but that's a whole nother video. We will get to that in one of these upcoming videos, but yeah um wearing your hair. That'S the best way to go so i view extensions more as an accessory than something i live in. You know now for people who have to live in it, i that's. That'S totally necessary, i'm not talking about those kind of people. Sometimes if you actually have hair on your head and it's essentially healthy and you don't really have complications and stuff wear your hair. You know like find a way to wear your hair, because extensions can be extremely damaging over time. It'S normally not the first time, i'm not the second time, sometimes not even a third time, but keeping your hair in extensions and tied up throughout the year. It'S it's! It'S damaging, okay, y'all, so with micro links, you do not want to wrap your hair. Instead, you want to maybe flexi rod it, because if you wrap it, you can loosen the beads like prematurely and you don't want to shift them, because you can also take your hair out. So at night i'm going to section my hair, like a pie and i'm going to use about six flexi rods like a one and a half inch and being that my hair is long it'll be easier for me to wrap it. So i'm gon na just twist. It around my flexi rod at night and then it's going to create these beautiful beach waves and i'm not going to be too concerned with the end some of the ends being a little bit straighter because to get beach waves, you kind of want it to be A little bit more uniform, you don't want it to be too perfect and then, when i take it down tomorrow, i have these beautiful, beautiful waves and i'm going to add a picture so you'll be able to see what it looks like the next day and it Actually turned out even better than today so yep, it's gon na be simple, easy and quick, okay y'all. So we are done. I told y'all look. My middle name is sheree. Okay, as i always say, if you ever see me dolled up and made up and just a little more extra trust me, that is, charade live in the flesh: okay, brandi up there on the shelf somewhere, but cheray that girl she's, something else. So i feel like that's, who i turned into when i got done doing my hair and um. I feel like it came out so pretty if i set it on some um flexi rods. Like i mentioned earlier it'll last and i should be able to get a good while out of it. So thank you all for watching. I appreciate you guys um subscribe like comment. If you have any suggestions or anything that you want to see, put that in the comment section and i will see y'all next week -

Dewana Johnson: WOW I love this style on you. I hardly see you much in your videos. Good to see you. Love your voice btw. That's some niceeee hair. I agree microlinks are very high maintenance to me but they sure make any hairstyle look so natural. Great video. Your sis did great on the install.
