Handtied Extension Method For Thin/Fine Hair //Wholy Hair

Hey beauties! I almost didn't upload this video because I didn't feel like I got the best after shots, and also my arm was kind of in the way of the camera during some parts‍♀️ I was 9 months pregnant, and SO exhausted when I filmed this, BUT I decided to not be so picky and share this handtied extension method with you because it's amazing for your thin/fine haired clients who need extensions with ZERO damage!

Let me know in the comments if you've done this on any of your clients! I would love for you to tag me in some before and afters on instagram!

What'S up beauties welcome back to holy hair? I know what you're thinking i am like, not all dolled up today. I do not have any makeup on and i look a little bit like a bum, but this is the reality of being uh, nine months pregnant and being exhausted, and i just didn't feel like getting ready today. But i wanted to film this content for you guys, like i said if you guys have watched my previous hand-tied method, videos you'll know that i am self-taught and i am just kind of like growing and learning as i go just like all hair stylists. Do i feel like we all kind of just tweak things as we do them, and you know especially color like we're always doing that differently and haircuts, and all that stuff so similar with extensions um. I'Ve obviously been kind of trying out new things and tweaking my ways of doing extensions, so i'm really excited to share this method with you guys. This method is for someone who has finer hair that you don't want to cause any damage to their hair. You don't want to be sewing the weft to their actual hair you're going to be sewing it to the yarn in between the sections i'm going to be, showing you guys all my little tricks to get a very flat tight sew when you are sewing in the Hand-Tied wefts gon na be doing three different rows of hand-tied extensions and i'm gon na do one in the back two on the sides and i'm gon na show you how i go about sectioning. Let me know if you have any questions. I really hope this video is helpful for you and you take away some awesome tips. So let's get right into the rest of this video. Let'S go okay, so we are going to be adding in um a total of four wefts in her hair and two are gon na be on one row in the back and then we are gon na. Do one on this side and one on the other side. Um, the ones that we're doing on the sides - i am folding them in half, and so i'm gon na sew them in fold it in half and then the two wefts in the back is just gon na be laid flat, two wefts on top of each other And then this is the other one. That'S gon na go on the other side, so i'm gon na get her sectioned and get everything all set up. So i'm going to be doing the back first and i'm going to get this all sewn in and then i'm going to show you guys my method of beading and sewing when i do the sides. So i'm going to do the back first. As far as sectioning goes, this is how i have her sectioned. I have her down as low as i can go without being too close to her ear. You still want to make sure you can at least have two fingers above the ear, so i have her as low as i can go without being too close to her ear so that i have room for the wefts on the sides. Okay, so i have the back all sewn in and then i'm gon na go on to doing the pieces on the side, so i'm gon na bring this down and they are going to be on top of the weft. That'S in the back. Okay, so i have her sectioned and she's going to be parting, her hair in the middle, which is right there and so we're about three fingers from her middle part and i'm kind of at a little bit of a diagonal here, diagonal back and so how we're Going to lay the extensions is they're going to be a little bit further back, so we're not going to put them too close to the front, because this hair around the front here, especially right at the temple, is so fine. So you don't want to anchor extensions in that close to their face, so we're going to anchor this one in right here and in relation to the weft. That'S underneath it's right there! So it's about, i would say three fingers from the weft. That'S underneath what i'm going to do. First, is i'm going to clip this on and measure where the start and end is and then put a clip in that area, so that i know where to start and end my beads okay. So i've marked, where we're going to be starting and ending the beads, so i'm going to take the weft down and i'm going to start the beading. So i got off my yarn and i just have a single string strung through the um needle. That is a hook, and then i have my beads on my beading tool and then my clamp. So what i'm going to do is get my first section with the bead, so i'm taking pretty wide sections, since she does have really fine hairs. This is how big the section is going to look and then i'm going to string the bead through and i'm going to take my yarn and i'm going to string the yarn through the bead and i'm going to go all the way until almost the end. You want to leave a little tail on the end and then i'm going to loop it through again and that's just going to make it nice and secure on the bead. So it's going to look like this and then we are going to clamp it down. So you want to make sure the bead lays flat to their head when you clamp it down. Okay, let's see how that just lays nice and flat. So then, what we're going to do is we're going to take this string that we have strung through and we're going to go underneath the bead and come up through so that on your next section the string will be on top and not underneath and that'll. Give you a tighter stitch when you're sewing the hair in, and i'm going to do that same thing until i reach the end of where the weft is going to be so taking the bead through and then we're going to string this through the bead. We'Re going to pull it all the way through once and then run it through again, and that is just going to make it a little more secure. Then you want to make sure that the string is tight in between the two beads before you clamp the bead down. So i like to hold the string as i'm holding the hair and clamping the bead down and then we're going to take this, lift this up and string this underneath the bead. And then when i go to sew the weft on. I'M only going to be mainly sewing the weft to the string, that's in between the beads and that's going to give us the least amount of damage, and i feel like it's a really secure way to sew the weft in. So you want to leave a tail off on either end and this is going to be what you're going to tie the weft to on either side when you're tying off your sewing. So here's what it's going to look like now going into my sewing. I have the same needle and i just have it knotted single string for my sewing, and so when i go through to make the first stitch i'm going underneath i'm going underneath her hair there on the outer side and then i'm going to go so on the Ends i'm securing it there and then throughout i'm going to go in between the beads so pulling it through the first stitch, i'm going to pull it almost all the way and then i'm going to tie this string to this string and that's going to secure your End i like to triple knot it. You can double knot it if you want i'm just going to trim it all right now we're going to get into sewing the end down, and you want to make sure that the end of the weft is very flat towards their head, because you do not want Any of the ends to be like sticking out so i like to do about three or four stitches on the end, and i kind of do two that are like regular and then one that's kind of at a diagonal here, so that when i tighten it, it Flattens down that edge there doing that with one hand, i don't know if you guys can see it but trying to make it visible, and then i'm just going to continue sewing the rest of the weft when you're sewing you want to go underneath the string. That'S under there and then you want to go through these two strings, so you want to go through the middle of those two and that's going to make your knot there and then, when you tighten it, you want to pull it upwards to tighten. I am not sewing underneath the bead i'm just going around the beads, because on this method, since we are sewing it to the string, that's going to be where our security is so we're not going to need to go underneath the beads okay. So i've got the end all sewn and after i go all the way to the end, i like to go back two stitches um just because i feel like it just secures it in really good and then all i'm going to do to secure the end is Cut this string and then i'm going to tie it off to the other string that we had left out from the beads and then we'll just trim this, and this is what the weft is going to look like after it's sewn in okay. So this is what her hair's gon na look like afterwards. We just mainly do these extensions in her hair for fullness. So, as you can see, the ends look so much fuller than they did before, and she can do so much with this. She can curl it wear it straight. I love it when extensions look good straight, because it's always, let's go

RachDolly11:11: Pro tip: Instead of cutting the string that you tied to the other string on the top layer beginning corner, lay down the extra string on top of the already strung beads and sew on top of that with the rest of your sewing for extra security!
