There might be lots of reasons why you would want to alter your wig and I'm going to show you a simple way to do it using wefts.. You can use this method to take a wig from short to long or just to add in some simple highlights.. Most wigs are built with a wefted construction.. What that means is that it has rows of hair that have been sewn in like a garland.. So we just need to find one of those. And you can see that on the construction here., The easiest way to add wefts to your wig is just to simply stitch them over where an existing weft already exists.. So we'll just clip this hair out of the way. We're going to hold up the weft that we're going to add. In this case we're going to be changing this wig by adding highlights. I'm going to figure out how much weft I want to put in there And cut it to fit. I've prepared my needle and thread. Just going to give it a couple starter stitches into my weft., And then I'm just going to go around the weft on my wig base.. If you're adding length or if you wish to add thickness, you can double up the amount of wefts that you're using and sew two in place of the one., If you're using wefts to create, highlights or color panels, simply place those throughout your wig, wherever you'd like To see that color pop through., If you're using wefts to change the length of your wig, just know that your wefts are going to be much thicker than the wefts that are used to create the wig itself.. So if you're, using them to change the length, make sure that they're distributed throughout the wig evenly and you're not trying to mimic every single line, that's throughout your wig. Being able to alter your wigs with wefts will give you unlimited styling possibilities.

Doctored Locks: I use a curved needle now for most applications but I used to hate curved needles with a passion! They aren't for everyone. :)

Vicky B: Thanks for getting right to the point.
