How To Get Rid Of The Bad Smells In Your Weave.

I use this on a regular basis to keep my natural hair fresh when weave for long periods of time. I mis it in my conditioner and then rinse well. If your hair has a mildew smell try adding some of the softener directly to your scalp just a tiny bit in between tracks. If your using this for your hair weave allow the hair to son in a capful or two or three and water and ensure that you rinse well after because this leaves a film on the hair so it MUST b rinsed well. This is something that I do...I am saying that this should be done at your own risk.

Hey guys, it's me Qi, have you ever guys? Have you guys ever got hair that came from China or the beauty, supply or someplace else, and it kind of smelled kind of reached of just chemicals, and you just couldn't do anything to get rid of it after cider, vinegar, rinse, baking, soda, rinse, vinegar, rinse. All these expensive shampoos, with the special scent tea tree oil, trying to just mask the smell of the chemicals and stuff well um about maybe ten years ago, when I was about 22 23, I had a weave and it was kind of curly and I had went To this lady, to kind of get the kinks out, because black on matted and dry and just was horrible, so I'm leaning back in the bowl and I'm wondering what this beautiful smell is. She was putting downy in my hair, guys like downy like real live downy. Not only did it conditioned the hair somehow, but it removed the tangles and my hair smell great. So from that moment I was like okay, I'm, but I'm gon na take that and she tried to hide it from me like I wasn't going to know what was that in that blue bottle like come on so anyways about maybe six seven years ago, when I Started wearing lace, wigs um, I you know - sometimes your weights kind of get nasty and old, and I started just like washing my wigs with regular shampoo and then kind of soaking them in um in this right here um. What do you call it fabric softener? This takes away the smell. This is my favorite one. It'S like a Mexican brand swap it's a swap it's al, but I love it. It is the best thing to do to get rid of any odors in any of your old hair. When you take your hair out, you're kind of stinks and stuff, because it's been installed for so long, your wigs from being on for so long wash it and condition it and let soak in science and in this fabric, softener with water. Only use like a cap. Fool because this stuff coats the hair, real thinking it makes it really heavy. So you don't want that. You just wanted to give it a nice in so after the hair dries. You know your your, your friends and a man will be like what is that? Oh gosh, your hair smells so good. You know you hug somebody and it just you, leave a nice laughing impression. Cuz, your hair smells great. You smell good it just it's the best! So try it. If you have any new hair old hair, just put a cap full in some water allow hair to fill rinse it well and be on your way. It works.

Fi Ona: I am always shocked by the hatred in the comments section. This lady is just trying to share helpful information. If you do not wear weaves, then why would you watch this video in the first place? We brown people need to stop hating eachother so much, it is a very disturbing reality.

Bored Creative: straight to the point... thank you for this concise and informative video!

Kammy Davis: You are officially on my top ten list. I have been using Downy since I was about 17 and especially for curly hair its perfect. Just caution your viewers not to use just any fabric softener. Some have a high alcohol content and don't do much conditioning. If you really hate those factory smells always try to ask if the hair you are purchasing was dipped or sprayed when processed and or treated. Thanks again :)

Junette Mirlande: I swear I love you Diva, that is one of my favorite fabric softner, and I use it for my home made air fresher to save money. Thanks so much for this informative video love. Peace & Blessings

vixxy02: So you were 23 10yrs ago.....you STILL look 23! You are good inside and out, that's why GOD has turned back time for you! Stay Blessed!

Belinda Joy: Great tip Meechie, I use to use fabric softener in my wigs all the time. But one bit of advise to all the ladies....Don't use the new "Ultra Downey" or anything like that because it has an added chemical in it that for some reason damages the fibers of plastic (for your synthetic wigs) I used it on a wig and after it dried it was fried! Best to stick with the generic, simple fabric softeners, nothing fancy.

VintageFab: I can testify to that ... I've been using downy on my wigs for years. Great tip :)

tammydshine: I have a sew in with synthetic hair. I workout everyday and sweat a lot. My hair started to smell like feet...with the combination of the thread, hair and wefts it was bad. I just tried this and hour ago and it works!!! Thanks for the tip!!!

Monebyrd: Hey Meechie! Thanks for the tip! I only used suavital! Lol, I luv that softener, thanks again for the tip.

ZERO TO MEXICO: I use this for all of my wig and weave hair...both human and synthetic!!! IT WORKS!!!

Yvette S: Meechie2cute excellent tip. I bought a little bottle of Downey at the dollar store and added a capful to a little spray bottle of water. Spritzed my installed weave and the smell was gone. You're genius. Thanks for the tip.

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: OMG Meechie, what a great idea, I'm gonna give it a try. Thanks Beautiful!

Tina F: Great tip thanks, I only thought this worked on synthetic hair. How long does it work in terms of making it tangle free - do you need to redo it often?

Modelchickny Luxury For Less: Wow never heard of this before, but it makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much for such a great tip.

Fashion786 xx: I use that fabric softener on my clothes.....LOVE it.

sushigall: Thank my sister, that was a good tip, I'm going to do that the next time i wash my wig.

luckylady75091: Thank you, baybee for that secret. I received some weave and although it's not an obnoxious smell it does smell like "doll hair." Suavatel is the business, ok! Thanks again!

Tracy Ross: How grateful am I to find this?!? It works!! Thank you!!!

Deborah Lewis: 2020 and I needed this....Only wished I looked last night. I don't have overnight time to soak and dry...

Amber Elizabeth: I love that fabric softener!

ScarlettLime: Ladies - please try a natural DIY fabric softener (you can easily google this or find it on youtube). Its incredibly simple and you won't have to worry about a film, the chemicals in the fabric softener (they are dangerous). The ingredients are few! :: Water, white or apple cider vinegar, baking soda, and a few drops of an essential oil (like lavender, cinnamon, or something citrusy). Try it - it has worked for me.

itsJoshV: Wow I never thought about the hair showing up smelling. They do travel a long way. Good tips. I just did a video on hair too. Go watch it for a laugh =D

Omg Giiirl: Soak in milk for 3 to 5 hours. Rinse. Repeat. Rinse. soak baking soda 1 to 2 hourse, Rinse. Then vinegar, rinse shampoo and condition. Casein, the protein in milk binds with formaldehyde, the cause of the smell in the human hair, and pulls it out so it can be removed. Baking soda and vinegar will neutralize anything left over.

Bella Noir Beauty: Will try this! Thanks a lot!

El Jai Thunderheart: Thanks for the tip... you rock!!

MyLovee044: would you recommend this to get rid of the burnt hair or flat iron smell also?

Being A Good Human Being Brings Great Things: freaking amazing. What she said makes sense based on how it makes your chlothes. I will use it.

meechie2cute: Girl, it works!

ILoveToScrub: good to see you again Meechie, and thanks for the tip.

Beatface82: Great share.....been doing it for yrs cause i hate smelly hair. i also bring my synthetic wigs back to life by swirling them in woolite.

AbitofSparkle1D: Thanks for the tip!

Lex: why are yall hatin on her she's just trying to help .

TheRealMrsPitt: Great tip...THANKS!

Mary: Can you do this if the hair is already sew in?

Meika B: Some people fail to realize that some individuals wear weaves/wigs/extensions bc of conditions/ illnesses they cannot control. Some people are unable to "just grow it out" or "be happy with what you have". Hair contributes to a persons confidence & self esteem. As long as an individual feels good about themselves, do not worry about what they have or don't have underneath it all.

Mbana N: This is amazing how I was jus searching up how to get rid of lace frontal scent & seen this vid omggg I was like wow 9 years ago lemme see if it’s still the softener trick & it was sooo thought that was coooooo that in 2020 a trick like this from like when you 1st seen it in like 2001 then tried it 9 years ago still works!!! Love this thank youuu

mscocagrul: I am trying this out on some of my hair and so far it felt extra soft but the hair is still wet...The moment of truth will show once it dries.

AKA The Queen B: The young lady that does my braids, puts Downey in the water before she dips the braids........and it makes the hair soooo soft and smell so good.

MSEBONYSEDC: Can you show us the process sometime soon?

Datrianna Meeks: How long do you soak it?

Jennyrocity: how long do you let it soak for? and how often

Nasheka Medley: Great info! Going to the store now. lol

247zeezee: Great tip i would have nvr thought to do that...Thanks 4 sharing!

kkimberly2004: love the tip, makeup and hair!

Drea Busch: This works. Used on some ext got daughter. When it arrived it reeked of smell this was the only that worked.

Ninaforever17: I miss you on yt girlie! you were the very first person who taught me this trick. Come back soon

dorothy betts: Thanks for the tip.

callmetheDreamer: I love how all the hair Nazis like to come on these videos (which they clearly have no business watching anyway since they hate weaves so much) and attack people for not wearing their natural hair... like, who cares? What difference should it make to you whether someone chooses to wear THEIR hair in a natural style or purchase a weave? Some of y'all are so concerned with other people's scalps... stop spending so much time online shaming women for wearing weaves and worry about your own head. If you don't like extensions, don't wear them and move on with your life. Simple as that. (And no, just because someone decides to change their hairstyle does not mean that they "hate themselves" or their natural hair. Where do y'all get this stuff from? Have several seats.)

diordiva: thanks for the tip!

keeshaja: I heard that before from a friend of mine and I thought she was a lil crazy ya know tryna be funny but wow it really works ...great video diva thanks so much for sharing ; )

Evilkitty64: Great tip! I did not know that

Lumari: put your weave in a bucket filled with hot water, a half a cup of oxyclean(make sure it dissolves before you put your hair in there), doctor bronner's castile soap, conditioner and fabric softener. let it sit for an hour then rince thoroughly. The scent will be completely gone. just deep condition to detangle it

TheJazzie6: Thank 4 the infro girl my old synthetic wig was smelling over the summer and I wash them with conditioner it help some what,I will try this soon. Tina.

CBSkyGirl: thanks for the tip hun...your face looks fab!!! is that a cranberry eyeshadow? real cute

Susie Carmichael: you just saved me 200 + dollars, money is kind of tight but I really wanted new weave hair because mine was old and smelly but if this works than I'm definitely trying it out.

Tia Andrew: Can you do this with your weave already installed ?

Manda: i tried this.. it does make the hair softer, but my extensions still smell bad..ahhhhh!

mrs.alcampbell: soooo glad your back. was lost without you, lol!

Coconut buttA: Great tip..thank u sweety!

Karen J.: Definately gotta try this!!!

Sincerely Prisca: omg great tip hunn.. i'll try this. Thx for stopping by my channel. bisouu

Mimi: Lol I have that same brand of fabric softener. I use it to soften the fibers of synthetic wigs. I have a synthetic yaki almost kinda kinky straight wig that I've had for 2 months and I use it to make the fibers soft and straight again. I'm about to order a human kinky straight LF. I just gotta find a good vendor.

meechie2cute: @CBSkyGirl It is a orange red blush that I use as an eyeshadow....I love it.

Jessie Tidwell: AMAZING IDEA

NAEE3K LYFESTLE: Can it be tide fabric softener

Ashley Reina: OMG I WANT YOUR HAIRCOLOR!!! PLEEEASE TELL ME WHAT COLOR/BRAND YOU USED TO DYE IT

tsharna45: This is awesomeeeeeee ive had my brazilian weave for 9 months i always wash it and it come out beautiful but i wanted the smell to stay so ima try this.. for anyone wondering i got my hair from w w w mysimplyhair co uk

Weave Wipes: Great Video!!!

Bree Shaw: Can I use it on virgin hair?

Mz_Coco77: would this work on human hair from the beauty supply store as well? and if so how long do you leave it on the mixture?

Iamdeborahbarnett: I happen to sell weave & lace wigs. And I wear lace wigs simply because they can be shampooed every other day if you choose to do that. There are women of all colors who use extensions. And everyone doesn't let theirs get to that point of reaking, if someone does get to that point. I suggest purchasing more. I use regular shampoos and conditioners& that does the trick for mine. You can't speak for ALL white women, just like I can't speak for ALL black women. You just happen to have seen some black women who happened to wear weave.

christinacreations1: I am most def gonna try this!

5001Isaac: I use those new crystals because those are the same type of crystals that it used to condition water.

Coyotl: "Suavitel, suave como el olor a mamá.. and for washing your weaves girld"

Tanika Hardin: can i use this method with the weave already installed..if so what should I do?

99SweetCheecks: are you sure you canuse fabric softener for synthetic wig too ?

aLiciaLokita512: I have this stank lace wig, it smells like cornchips. I have colored this hair, and washed it 6 times, one time cowash and 5 regular washes. I tried fancy smelling shampoo, Febreeze, and today the thing has been soaking in a plastic bag with Downy for 7 (SEVEN) hours! I opened the bag up just now, and the first thing I smelled was CORNCHIPS! :o/. I don't know what those Chinese do to hair, but they need to STOP!!!!!

meechie2cute: @ElJai52 Thank you for watching!

meechie2cute: @Gbaby779 I used that a few years ago, but got more shedding than I would like. But I may try it again in a small amount of course and then mix a bit of my FS in....

Gbaby779: Hey Beautiful 1 have you ever tried Silicon Mix??? the smell isnt all that but it condition the hair. Maybe you can mix both.. I will try your fabric softer lol

ThAChanelWAY!!!: So off subject but can you do more ootd's??

hannah banana: we wear weaves because it's easier to handle AND because it helps our hair grow and become healthy as it isn't exposed and being messed with all the time.

meechie2cute: @MZHUEY100 Girl it works!

makeupaddiikt: I love suavitel! Thankyou so much

Back To Life: Interesting....research says that b/c synthetic hair is basically a fabric and "downy" or the equivalent is a fabric softener it makes sense that the smell stays in the hair and it makes it softer. This makes me question some of the hair in beauty supply stores that say human. you should be able to use hair conditioner to soften real hair... it should smell good too.

meechie2cute: @mmone1178 I love that brand it is hella cheap and it smells great.

TheGoldenArts: you look sooooooo pretty in this vid :) xoxoox -Britt <3

Bonita Brooks: Glad to see U back on here! I miss ur vids :(

NRSx: Ur vids are always very informative, gotta love em. Loving ur hair and make up too, where's ur hair from?

SILENT HILL: it WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!
