Hey lovelies welcome back to my channel. I am the basil mercy in case you don't already know and if today's is your first time stopping on my channel. Thank you so much for stopping by and if you're a returning subscriber. Thank you so much for coming back. So lovelies in today's video we're going to be discussing braided wigs. Alright, I'm going to be listing out all the tools you need to start your own braided wig at the comfort of your home. I'M also going to be leaving down description in the description box. I'M going to leave the links you need for this. You know to get each of these items, I'm going to leave as much as I can, and I'm also going to be listing my favorite stores. You can get this on Instagram all right. So if you don't want to order from Amazon with the links, you can check Instagram if you're in Nigeria all right. So I'm going to be dropping that if that sounds like something interesting make sure to keep on watching love you so lovelies in this video. I'M going to put dealing more with the ventilation braided wig. If you're new to my channel, you don't know, I deal more with ventilation, braided wigs, I like ventilating, my own braided wig, so I'm going to be discussing more on the ventilating items. If you don't want to ventilate, that's fine, I'm still going to list out the items you need to create your own braided, wig, alright. So the first item on our list is your lace. All right. The list is very important, especially if you're ventilating, you have to get your lace all right. This lace comes in different size, like I always say, there's 2x6, all right, so the 2x6 is normally like two inches here then six down right. So you have two by six: you have four by six, you have six by six and you have different shapes and different sizes, actually not shapes, but different sizes. Obviously - and you can also get your yard lace, if you think about this kind of cheaper, but then you have to work on it, you have to be able to you. You have to use that, regardless to kind of create whatever size you want all right. So it depends on what works for you. I have a tutorial, I'm going to leave it up here for you to kind of make your own closure yourself all right. So, if that's something you want to venture into or you can just buy the already pre-made lace, whichever one works for you actually so guys, I'm using this in no particular order. All right. So in number two on my list is your measuring tape. The measuring tape is so small, it's so cheap. You can actually get it anywhere and it's very important when it comes to braiding. Your braided wig is very important because you need your measurement and you need them to be as accurate as possible to be able to replicate that exact same measurement on your wig all right. So you need that in taking your wig measurements, you need that um kind of um spacing out your braids when you're making your wig. You need a measuring tape, very essential, so number three, and at least the metallic marker all right. So if you need this, for you can actually get an eyebrow pencil, it's cheaper actually and it works all right. You just need something. You can get a chop chop metallic, Maca or a fancy. This will work fine. This is for when you take your measurements, you need something to kind of place it down to kind of know that, oh, this is where I measured all right, so you can use a metallic marker for this. You can use a pencil like I said, or you can use a chalk whichever one works for you. The chalk removes faster. The metallic marker might not remove in my remover, it can't clean off, but it takes a bit of struggle. The pencil will remove when you actually use a dish, soap and just kind of wash it out a little bit very carefully, especially when you mark on your lace. You want to just quickly brush brush it off and it will just come out. So, whichever one works for you works for you so number four on my list, which is very important also is your scissors is actually a very common item you can find at home. You need a scissors, you need a scissors when you're trimming your ends. You need your scissors when you're trimming - let's say you're done with your sewing and you want to cut off. You need the scissors. You need a scissors to cut your extension. For so many reasons. Scissors is very important, so I'm going to list that among the things you need so number five on your list is your pins. You need pins to hold down where you measure you need pins to hold down your wig cap to your canvas head all right. So you need pins all right, so this could even be your tea, pins or very little pins if you're ventilating do not use t-pins on your lace very important, it's going to cause a dance, it's going to cause that it's going to cause a tear and when Your ventilation is going to affect it so make sure to get the very tiny pins that will work best for you when you're ventilating. You just need your cheapings for your wig cap and for other, like minor minor painting, but when you're ventilating, I advice, you get the very small things. So level is number six on our list. Is the ventilating needle alright very important if you're ventilating, if you're not ventilating? Obviously this is optional, but if you're ventilating you need a ventilating needle, you can either use the normal one, which is it's not hard per se, but it takes a kind of you need to get used to it to be able to use it all right or You could either use a crochet hook, which is like the very small crochet hook. You can use this for ventilating, I'm going to put the one I use on the screen right now for you to see and just see how tiny is it comes in three sizes. This is a crochet hook. I would always advise anybody to get, because it's really strong, it's really sturdy and it gets the job done. It doesn't rip the laser part because some crochet needle claim to actually do that. But then, when you start using it, it either breaks or it rips your lace, and you don't want that. You don't want a situation where your Lids keeps tearing up when you're ventilating. It makes it frustrating it makes it really hard all right. So these are the two I recommend is that you're using the ventilating needle, which is the normal one or you're using a crochet lash hook all right so number seven on our list is a canvas head guys guys I advise you. I had advice, you just invest in a good canvas head. Obviously, if I didn't mention you can use a mannequin head right and you can use a mannequin head and but then you have to there's a way you have to measure it and kind of tape it to kind of give your head, the mannequin heads a head Shape right, but canvas head is already there. You just have to find the right size. If you don't know how to measure a canvas head. You just kind of wrap the tape around your head from one to the end and then that the canvas head you're going to get they come in different sizes. I think from 21 to 26, if you're, a professional. If you do this for business, obviously you cannot get one canvas head. You can go ahead to get two three right, but one is a No-No. You can get the middle right, the middle one, the smallest one at the largest one, if you're just starting two. Three. All right just kind of play around with that kind of get the ones of the video, so you can work with that. All right so canvas head very important and with canvas head, it's easier to choke your pins in or to kind of stick your pins into to stick your pins in this very easy when you're using a canvas set. That'S why I always advise the canvas head apart from the head, shape it's easier to use, but I mean whatever works for you. If a mannequin head work for you, then I mean that's fine. Number eight on our list is the wig cap guys you need a wig cap if you're not doing a full lace, a full lace. Wig, you need a weave cap if you're doing a full lace. Wig, you don't need a recap right, but in most cases you need a wig cap for your braided in most cases right so for Wig caps. I always advise to use a mesh. Don'T cap right a matched on cap, so we caps comes in Spandex and comes in mesh all right. The Spanish one is the kind of full one. Then the mesh has like holes the mesh, because it allows your hair to breathe and I just find that it works better honestly, because you can actually pass your needle through the through the wig cap easier right. So there are two brands that like using a lot, we have the regular one which most people always use and then there's a second brand. I use a lot. I can't remember the name, I'm going to show you guys. I love it because it comes in different sizes. The other one doesn't really have sizes or needs you just find. Whichever size you get, you kind of manage it. If it's big, if it's small, you kind of manage it, but this one I use they have the sizes and it's always mostly accurate. If I'm using a medium, I don't have to do any tacking. I never use a small. I sometimes get a large in that one and I just do a little bit of tacking right. So, if you don't know, if you get a big wig cap, there's a way for you to kind of tap that in before you use it on your clients. If you don't know how to measure your wig on your clients, if you don't know how to do that, I'm Gon na Leave a link here for you to check that out for you to be able to know how to weak prep how to recap: prep right. I'M going to leave a link for you up here and down in the description box. So number nine is gon na seem very it's gon na seem very small, but I mean you need your track and needle it seems very small, but it's very important and if you're getting a needle, I will always advise the curved video just see needles when you're Working with wigs, it's very important because it just helps you be faster and if you're, using a straight needle you kind of have to, I don't know how to explain it, but when you're using the company it just does the work for you. You don't end up. Cheeking or you don't end up hurting somebody, I don't know I'm very used to the word chicken, but you don't end up watching somebody when you pass the needle through okay, this kind of Curves for you right. It just works easier when you're making a wig. So a sea cup needle and then your thread for Threads. You can you obviously most times you use a black thread, that's most in most cases, depending on what you're working on, if you're working with the blonde needle you're you're going to need a cream thread. I mean if you're working with a blunt Weave, you're going to need a cream thread. It'S not advisable for you to use black, so it depends on what you're working on and also you want to invest in An Invisible Thread. All right, invisible threads are very good when you're working with your lace, because if you, if you get a lace yard - and you want to prep that list yet you're not going to end up using black threads, so that's um, less! No! No! No! No! No you're! Not going to use that you're going to need a transparent, I'm rather An Invisible Thread. That'S what you're going to need for that. So number 10 on our list is a wig stand very important guys. You need something for your canvas heads to be on top, while you're walking all right. So there are two types you either get a standing tripod, which is like the normal know. You get a table tripod or where's. A triple type pot or a table stand right. So you just attach it to the table. You hook it on the table and just put your canvas hair. That'S a lot more cheaper than a tripod. I think it's around four, it's around four thousand they're about four thousand. There yeah it's around that, but a tripod comes in different sizes and it comes in a lot more more like more sturdy than others right, but guys see if you're getting a tripod anyone, but the GX. That thing is a scam. I got that for 40K. 40. 000 and it didn't do what he was supposed to do, he wasn't giving it was shaky and I'm like I thought when everybody was talking about this, is like the best tripod in the world. Well, it wasn't it so I'm just trying out the advice. Do whatever you want to do with that, so number 11 on our list is a moose. You need a moose when you're done putting your braided wig in hot water all right, so you just needed this for starting all right. I just decided to include it there because it's necessary so number 12 on my list is a and this is for style. You know, so you need your glue. You need a glue. You need an adhesive right, a little bit guts baby. It'S everyone wonderless, be in bed head spray. It'S not very essential to always lay your wig before you kind of use them, but I'm just putting it up there. So it's optional! You need a list adhesive. If you want to - or you can go ahead to make your wheat glueless and that will bring us to our number 13 right, so number 13 will be elastic bands. You need an elastic band. If you're going to make your wig glueless, you need an elastic band. If you're going to tie your wig down, you need an elastic Bank. This just you can. Obviously, if you have a normal and what's it called now a normal something that will melt your list. You have a normal lace letter. You might not need the elastic band, but in most cases you need an elastic band for glueless Wing elastic band, to lay your wig to melted, elastic band so get an elastic band, also so number 14 on my list. If you're, if you are this channel, if you always, you know you'll be consistent on my channel, you know I love this product, so much shine and jam. I had to put this on its own category shine and jam if you're bridging advice, you're with your shine and jam. I just liked it. I like it, I like how it the look she gives to my wig when I'm braiding with it. If you have not seen me use it, you can go ahead and check my videos. I have a lot of braided with two and tutorial guys. I'M gon na link a playlist. I have a lot of gradient videos. You can check out after this video amazing amazing. If I do say so myself all right, so you can go in chance to check it out. I always use shine and jam or I use it mostly most cases, but most cases. If I have China drama, I'm going to use shine and jam because it gets the job done so number 15 on our list, which is optional. If you're not ventilating but number 15 is you need hair extensions? Obviously, if you buy a lace, you're going to have to ventilate it and you need the extensions to ventilating so for this extension, it's very it's very it's kind of like to itchy zone right. So for me, I use cannoli hair at the back of my wig. I use the normal attachments to ventilate and then, when I come forward, I kind of go into human hair extensions, just to kind of give it a realistic because it's not sun and cannoli hair, or I don't know if I'm pronouncing it as well, but they're. Not that normal attachment give is kind of a little bit more bigger and more visible compared to human hair, so I always use human hair in front and obviously for edges, you cannot come and be using attachment for edges. I mean that's all shading from in my opinion, in my opinion is so, if you can't do that, so I always use human hair in front or even not even in front just for the baby hair, it's very essential so for human hair extension for your hair Extensions that has to get your human hair if you're interested in that or you can go ahead to get some cannoli hair. Oh just go ahead scale, whatever works for you, actually, the hair that works for you, depending on the colors you want. So you want to keep your your minds in you want to keep that in your mind. You need to get your base color all right and the extensions you also using you know braiding all right, so it can be different, colors, very much that you do black here and do black on the hair or you do blood there. It'S your choice! That'S the one thing I like when you're doing your own wig, you kind of get the choice to kind of customize it wherever, however, we like, if you want to do blue here and do black on the braids, why not? If you want to do the base, if you want to do it blonde, then do black. I mean it's very customizable, and I love that for me, because once you learn this, it's going to help you a lot. I hope me listen out. These tools will help you upgraded with journey. Thank you so much for watching all right. So you see me with this cute hairdo.
