Live Hair Growth Q&A!!!

So crazy, I don't think I've ever been live on Tick Tock. Before I mean I'm saying, takes a child YouTube. Okay, let us see, let us see, I didn't say I was going live so that might be a problem here. Let'S see I'll chat, I can't see anything. I can't see anything. This is not working. Oh my goodness hold on oh okay, there it is y'all. That'S my first time going Live on YouTube, so I never been live with YouTube before so I was a little confused with. I was like I tried to do it on my computer, but it didn't support it. So I'm on my phone hi. This is the first time that some of y'all are seeing me like live because I've never been Live on YouTube, but I go live on Instagram and Tick Tock a lot, but I was like you know what we're in the middle of doing vlogmas. So why not? Um do a hair growth q a on here since I've done a hair girl q a on like every other platform. So the purpose of this is just to like, instead of posting a short today, because I usually post shorts every single day hi instead of posting shorts, I thought it would just be more fun if I did like a you, know: hair growth, q, a sort of Thing where you just basically ask me whatever you want about hair growth, any issues or problems that you have, and I just I just answer the questions. That'S it so typically what I like to do. Thank you particularly what I like to do is like if someone like, if the you know chat, is like a little dry. What I do is, I just think of like the questions that I've been asked a lot outside of YouTube and then um. That'S basically how how it goes. I get compared to chiropractor a lot, so that's nothing new, I think, might hold up. My camera is a little dirty wipe that off. Okay, do your whipped, hair butter smell good? Yes, I think they smell good by the way. This is a headband wig y'all. If you watch uh Vlog news day three, I think I took out my passion twist, so I'm going to wash my hair today while I was supposed to. I just have a headband wig on um with my hair, underneath that's dirty. So if you've been watching vlogmas, you know I've had issues with my air conditioner. So I just got somebody in here to check it, but they I don't want to start washing my hair while I'm expecting them to come back. So I'm just gon na wait till you know it's over um when you do the flow test, if your hair stinks and floats under the water okay. So I see the question about the porosity test. Um I'll, be honest with y'all. I don't do that. I don't know my porosity, I know it's kind of taboo being natural for six years, but I don't know anything about my porosity. I don't know if it's high low, based on what y'all said some I've had times when my hair is high. Porosity acted like it, and sometimes when my hair is low, porosity and acted like it. So I just go based off like what my hair likes. I don't really base any of my products from my business or any of my hair care tips on um that so yeah trying to see how I can see the chat, hey. I can't go back and see the chat hold on. How often should I moisturize my hair, I'm gon na try to do it on my other phone um? Well, I typically moisturize my hair once like a month, I only moisturize my hair whenever I uh wash it. I don't moisture like when I had those passion twisting. I didn't moisturize my hair at all like at all so um, that's just kind of basically. Oh there we go. Okay. I was wondering why I couldn't see it. Okay, I see it now. I have to scroll on the screen um, but yeah. I only moisturize my hair when I wash it because, like it's in a protective style, and so it's not getting dry or anything, it's just chilling when I took out my twist, if you go watch that video video you'll see how moisturized and like hydrated my hair Is so um I just moisturize turned in and that works hot in here uh? Did you ever use any hair growth pills to speed up the girls? I feel like my hair got super thick since I started taking better care of it, but it's still not as long as I want it to be. That'S a great question: hi new subscriber um, that's a great question. Okay, so I know thank you guys for over 100k, I've literally grown like 40 000 followers in like the past week and a half. So thank you guys so much for that, but that's insane. I wasn't expecting that, but um and I forgot oh hair growth pills. No, I don't take any hair growth pills. I mean, I don't think okay unpopular opinion, but I think you're just wasting your money by taking them uh I've never taken them now. As far as your hair, not growing as fast as you wanted to that's. Everybody feels like that because it takes time to grow hair and that's not just a black woman. That'S anybody like scientifically it's gon na take a long time to grow your hairs, so nothing can really speed up hair growth. I mean you can take as best care as you uh. You can take as best care as you can, but you only got the followers from the Dr Phil. Well, actually I didn't get any followers from Dr Phil because that happened in September. So, like I said, I just got a bunch of followers in the past two weeks and it was because of a video I posted the short that um got. I think it has like seven million views, so it was from my content, Dr Phil. Didn'T do nothing for me, but irritate me so um yeah and I'm actually gliding green followers from the Dr Phil show that just wasn't a great experience for me. So it actually means more that I was able to gain it from my platform, but you tried it, though that was cute um, listen! Let me go back and answer some of the older ones. How do you keep your edges from falling out with the protective style? So number one: this is a headband wig, so uh my edges aren't done. There'S no tension on my edges, we're just doing what we have to do until I wash my hair um. So that's number one, but with wigs my hairline is uh. So my my hairline, I have a heart shaped hairline, so I have a Widow's Peak and then my hair I'll just show y'all real quick. I don't care it's like this. Then it goes back up and then it goes back down. So for me it don't really make sense for me to put um wig glue on my edges, because I can't I don't have the type of hairline where I can just place a wig on my skin. It'S going to touch some of my edges. If I wanted to go straight across so I said all that to say that um I wear uh do like spray instead of uh, you know like the wig glue I'll do spray, and then I will basically, I just don't put my attention on my edges and I take my um wigs off like once a week and then like redo them so and then, when I take my wigs off, I'm very careful is to make sure that it's soaked on my hairline. So when I take it off, my edges are fine. I really think, like people do too much over protective styles hold on you guys, one second, because the person hi, oh, I came here outside with all the stuff going on you're good, who start finishing my air um. Hopefully they can fix it because it's hot uh, let's see okay, um, try to answer some of the older ones, because I know a lot of people commented at one time. I set it to where everybody's comments. I can see um. What do you think you should use on 4C hair as moisturizer and shampoo um? Again my hair grow tips. Okay, I have Type 4 hair very thick, curly hair. I will never claim that I have 4C hair because it doesn't give like that. I don't need a type of cloud. I think it's weird energy when people do that, but at the same time I don't like base any tips or tricks I have off of like having specifically like Type 4 non-4c hair, I just basically off having very thick coily hair. So with that being said, I made a shampoo that I know would work for a lot of women, including myself, that have very thick or like coily, uh, natural hair, or even like on the 3C side like in, like that hot girl, where you live. No, so if you guys watch vlogmas, which are not caught up on my air conditioner is broken in my apartment. It'S been broken all weekend. It hasn't gone below like 77 degrees, even though it's been the lowest setting. So today called the front office and they have somebody coming in here to fix it. So that's why I said it's so hot in here um, but I didn't want to start washing my hair because I know the person was going to come back. So that's why? I was waiting, I would have watched it like a couple hours ago. I was like you know what I'm waiting. I have nothing to do. Let me just get on live on YouTube, so that's what we're doing. Okay, let me go back uh. Oh, this little Jade girl Preston here y'all y'all eating her up, though so I'm here for it y'all rapping me heavy. I like that about y'all I ride for y'all, so I feel like it's nice when y'all ride. For me, I really go for so hard for y'all, like I really be telling people do not be telling my girls and my guys that they cannot grow hair and not be telling them that their hair is ugly and not be telling them it's okay for them To get discriminated against for their hair, I'm not! I don't play with y'all. I really don't like. I don't play about y'all y'all support me so much y'all do so much for me. I'M a ride for y'all! That'S why I will always be someone. That'S gon na say it how it is period, I'm not scared of anybody or any group, I'm gon na say what I feel. Some people don't like that. Okay, so I know I feel, like a lot of people just miss what I say as me, complaining or being negative just because I'm real and transparent. Like sorry, I make you uncomfortable, but you keep commenting. So it's your fault. I keep showing up. Okay, let's see which butter is better for high porosity. Okay, so again I don't formulate any of my products based on porosity. The difference in the hair Butters is solely the ingredients. It'S just your preference, because I had a lot of people saying that they wanted different things in my products. So I just gave you a bunch of options, but I use them all three or all four of them in rotations, like each wash there I'll just use a different one. So I think this one maybe I'll, use the original I'm still pressing. My hair, I'm not going to use it, but the next time I'll probably use the original, because I haven't used that one in a while because it's been out of stock but yeah, I'm so excited to press my hair. So my plan is today to wash my hair blow dry trim it I'm gon na film all that, for you guys, then tomorrow still press it and then maybe later this week try. I got an octopus curler thing that you get off of Amazon. If you know what I'm talking about, I want to try to do some heatless curls, I'm not even scared about heat damage. My hair, don't isn't sensitive like that. I just don't want to mess it up. I want it to look like Kamala. I really do miss Kamala, Miss VP camalo. That'S what I want my silk press to look like um, let's see um so shampoo, I recommend mine, it's good! Sorry, it's just good um and then uh for conditioner, depending it depends there's like 10 000 different conditioners for natural hair. If you want this is all on my um favorite products to help me grow waistline Hair video on here. But if you want to detangle Aussie boys say what you want to say: I don't care it's a good conditioner, um, deep, conditioner, shea moisture, Manuka, Honey, Mafia oil, literally the only shea moisture product I like and then leave-in conditioner. When I say as I am or Blueberry Bliss and again that's all on that video, it's in the description too. So, let's see oh y'all, can oh I'm gon na. Do the other hand all right, let's see more questions, the key okay Joanna great Point. She said that the key to Growing your hair out is literally consistency. Absolutely y'all. I'Ve been in this game first thing: almost six years, I'm getting old almost six years now. So it's like it's a work in progress. You'Re, not gon na get your hair down your back in a couple of months after just being natural, that's just not how life works and I feel, like people waste their time, their money and their energy doing all this other crazy stuff to try to get their Hair to grow and I'm like you just got to be consistent with a good, routine and just be patient. I, like the coconut and hibiscus shea moisture line, see I don't know I feel like ever since shea moisture stopped being black owned, they just their products. Just don't hit the same anymore for me um! I don't know how to stop hair from becoming dry. That'S the simple fix, so number one low manipulation, the like every single time. You touch your hair, you're, removing moisture. So if you are wearing a hairstyle, where you're not really touching your hair, that will help you retain moisture. Also, you want to make sure that you are locking in whatever moisturizer you're, using with the butter or an oil. I know that's controversial because people don't like those if you don't like butter and oil just use a heavy cream. You just want to make sure you're locking in your moisture um what else there's something else I was gon na say I forgot it, but that's basically it can. You show what you do to slow rating when you uh Bishop. Can you show what you do to slow okay to slow down your your I'm confused? Sorry, can you show me what you do to basically prevent your hair from reverting when you suppress it? Okay, so on transparency I never took brush my hair before I'm pretty sure. I straightened my hair like when I was 13, but that don't count because, like no one knew what they were doing at 13., but um I'm gon na try. I have a game plan in mind. Number one is like the weather it rained today and typically when it rains down here. That means it's going to be very cold the next couple days, so I try to time it with the weather. Also um. I bought a new book like the Revlon round blow dryer. I bought that to make sure I got all my curl pattern like out during the blow dry and I bought a new straightener to make sure I don't have to do as many passes and I bought everything I spent like so like 250 dollars on the still Press so yeah, I'm just scared to go to somebody is flat iron hood. For us I mean I just I grew up around flat iron. I mean some people say straightener, but that's what I say. I mini braids, a good protective style to wear yeah. Just don't leave them in too long because it just makes it hard to take them out I'll leave mine in for about three or four weeks um but yeah. Oh there's a sealant, not a moisturizer. Yes, absolutely. I agree with that. Yeah, I don't have indigestion, but I don't know. What'S going on okay um, let's see I'm trying, I'm gon na go back to some of the beginning comments. Um, do you prefer headbands or Lace, Wigs lace, wigs they just say different? I, like I, like I like it looking like it's my real hair. My clip is hurting hold on it's hurting me. I put the Clips in so my hair wouldn't slip back because I have a middle part and this one has a side part. I also cut it because it was like 18 inches. It was like down there, but I cut it because I was like I don't it just looked weird. It was awkward length but um. I like lace. Wigs again, I learned how to install them without ripping out my edges, so that that's me, but I I get the convenience of headband waves just to hit the same for me like I, wouldn't I feel like headband wigs for me personally, wouldn't be something I would Wear if I'm going out or trying to look cute, this is something I would wear on like a regular basis like when I was in med school, I wore a headband wigs a lot because, like it was just convenient for me to just pop one on go To class uh come back study all day. Take my hair down and I didn't have to worry about the lace, but now that I'm not in Mexico anymore, I'm gon na do that I mean I do work out now. I don't know why I didn't before I work out now, so I don't know someone really was like how the girl how'd you gain weight. I'M like what you trying to say like okay, I ate too much and now I'm trying to like lose it. I lost half of it, though, so we're good to go. Y'All gon na get a weight loss Journey, video like sometime beginning next year, but we doing what we can now Thanksgiving. Look. It took me a while to get back on track um. What'S your best recommendation for 4C to get long, bouncy, curls um? So, if you're, referring to like change your color pattern, I can't really help you with that, because that's impossible and decides like biology. I guess but um if you're talking about like just getting more defined here, number one, keep in mind that not everybody has a super defined curl pattern. That'S not just with 4C hair I've seen people with 3C hair and their hair doesn't Define very well just. Naturally me I have like the left side of my hair doesn't Define as well as the right, so that could just be natural, but I would say the best way to get. The definition that your hair can achieve is keeping your hair very hydrated and moisturized, and over time you will see a change in the definition, so yeah Joanna's over here, killing the game here for it um. Okay, so I have 4C hair. Okay, try to straighten my hair and it's really puffy. Do you have any days on how to make it less puffy? Okay. So again, unfortunately, I have not so pressed my hair. Yet so, once I suppress it, I will be able to tell you guys like what works and what doesn't now if y'all know who jujube is. I think she changed her name to Juliana. Palencia she's, like a natural hair influencer's, been in the game like I started watching her when I first went natural like five years ago. She has a hair, straightening video, and I am using that video to kind of help guide me because, like she was able to get her hair is looser than mine, but she still has a lot of like texture in her in her hair, and so I am Watching her video to kind of figure out how to get my hair straight as possible and keep it straight um she did. I love her yeah. I love um jujube natural 85, mahogany curls, uh African beauty, all those OG's they just. I love it. It'S sad, though, because I don't really watching no more, but I mean most of them don't really make like hair content anymore um. So, oh I don't mean to use my middle finger um. I love to see a weight loss Journey, I'm on mine, now girl being it together, because I want some Chick-fil-A right now, but I ain't gon na. Do it honestly it feels impossible to grow my hair out. I just feel impatient. I know you shouldn't, but I mean there's something wrong with that: it's you're human, so of course you're gon na feel impatient, but I mean think about it like this, the time's gon na pass it. I used to feel like that when I first started and then here I am four or five years later and I have long hair, it's gon na pass. So it's gon na pass now we'll say: maybe stop doing so many lean checks and taking pictures, because the more you look at your hair all the time to let the more impatient you're gon na get that's why I started protective styling because I could just like Leave my hair alone, so um, let's see edge control, does that break your edges um. I actually try to break my edges. How you take care of your wigs um. I put them in this box up here in my closet and I just throw them in the bag when I'm done to be fair, I did like 50 wig collaborations last year, but really up until like the summer, so I have a bunch of wigs, so they're. Just chill in there and when I want to wear them, I just take them out clean the lace off wash them and then like style them, and then I'll do like that. Have you ever felt self-conscious about your hair? Absolutely so. Are you kidding me? Yes, especially during my first couple of stages: well, really I told y'all yesterday, oh my goodness, people threw a fit on my Tick Tock about how I was at transitioned to high school people thought I was transgender clarified that I wasn't, and apparently that meant that I Hate trans people, because I said I was a woman, but anything anyways y'all - can go watch that if y'all want to see but uh in high school, I was very insecure about my natural hair. I um it was. It was I just I. I was insecure about a lot of stuff in high school. Wasn'T just my hair, I was. I weigh the same that I weighed in high school but like I carry it way differently. Now, like you know, thick or whatever, but that's that wasn't the case back then so uh, that's that, but I mean you grow out of it. You start to for me personally. This may be controversial, but when my hair grew longer, I got more confident because I like having long hair some people may grow confident the longer they're natural, even if their length doesn't change, but that was just me so just know that your hair is beautiful. Let'S see what can you do to minimize shedding okay? Well, first, I feel like it's important to understand. Shedding everybody has it. I think. The last time I looked at the statistics, it was 50 to 100, here's a day that you should and if you're, if you wear protective styles, like me, well number one think about it like this: we don't brush or comb my hair every single day, so those Shed hairs that come out of our scalp just get wrapped up and the hair is still attached to our head. That'S why, when we detangle a lot of our hair comes out right and if you protect us out, that's like 10 times worse because it has no chance to come out. So I feel, like don't freak out. I try to show my shade of hair whenever I do wash days so don't freak out, if, like you, see a lot of [ __, ] hair and you haven't washed your hair in like a month um now I have heard of like a green tea or Black tea rinse to minimize it, but I think a lot of people that think they have a lot of shedding. Don'T realize that that's normal, because sometimes people don't act like it's not as much as it really is. But I don't freak out about shading um now, if you have like a whole thing of hair in your hands like that, I usually have a ball about. Maybe like this big, maybe a little smaller pretty normal. Do you recommend short-term or long-term protective styles um? I don't think it really matters um, it's just a preference for me. I, like long term because I like to do my hair as little as possible, but as far as like the health and benefits, I think it's like just what you prefer. Um foreign recommendations that don't have any harmful dry ingredients. Look when it comes to the ingredients of other products outside of mine unpopular opinion, I don't care about sulfates, I don't care about silicones, I don't care about parabens. That'S just me personally. If a product works for my hair, imma use it until it's gone, but so I don't particularly like unless it's my products that I'm formulating, because I know people like silicone sulfate free stuff, which is why I formulate silicone sulfate free stuff. But as far as other products outside the ones that I use, I don't really like. Okay, I'm looking at it. That'S why I'm trying to knock it. This is the edge control that I use the Eco Styler. I don't know if it has something bad in here. They sent it to me, it was a PR thing and I used it and I like it, so I keep using that. I don't know what's in it, so that's kind of how I do like I know. A lot of people are sensitive about ingredients which is fine, like that's your choice, but I'm not so, but did y'all hear that study that just came out about how relaxer it shows that people that use relaxers are more likely to have cancer. Like I know, they've been saying that for years, but like an actual study, came out, it showed that what if you use relaxers regularly like in the past couple years, like maybe three or four times a year, you're like two times more likely to get cancer, it Was a study of like um? What like 33 000.? Thank you Katie Petty, like 33 000 uh, I don't know some products have too much alcohol. I mean true, but also I feel like a lot of people freak out about ingredients that they don't know what it is. For example, I'm gon na be transparent. I use an ingredient called acetyl alcohol in my hair Butters and someone may think, see that and then they're like uh. Oh my gosh, you use alcohol, I'm like no, I'm not canned too. That'S not the type of alcohol that that is that's just the name of the product. It'S actually something that's very common in hair products, it's very natural, there's, nothing silicone sulfatey about it and it helps to condition and soften the hair, as well as emulsify the ingredients and allow them to mix and not uh separate. So it's like um, but people will freak out if they hear acetyl alcohol right or cocoa betaine or diesel glucoside, which are sulfate for your surfactants, that I use in my shampoo to create a sulfate-free shampoo. But you see that and you're like. Oh, my goodness, I don't know what that is, that has to be bad, like no, it's made from all natural natural ingredients. Yes, it's a good product and it's actually yeah. It is so I mean I do my research on my products. I mean all my ingredients, but it's like people, don't people just see stuff and they're like oh, it's bad or also there's a thing in the natural hair community where, like people will say one thing and everybody just runs with it. I'M like y'all, even know. If this is true or not like, when someone's like you shouldn't be wearing braids anymore because they break your hair off, I'm like did y'all even check to see. If that was true or some was like rice. Water grows your hair, like 10 inches in a month. I'M like did you check to see if that was true or you just ran with it. It'S just like something becomes trending and you just run with it. I'M gon na try to adjust this a little bit. Something becomes trendy and then you just run with it and I'm like y'all doing too much, and then you get mad at other people for not wanting to run with the trend. I'M like I'm not about to waste my time putting rice water in my hair when my hair already grows fine and that's just extra work for me um, let's see how do you feel about some hair products having perfumes in it? Okay, my thing with that is, I think, my best friend's in here. She just text me this way: okay, um, but my thing with that is: are we gon na act like smell? Isn'T a big thing that makes like a huge difference in our Cosmetics, like you want to use a lotion that smells good, you want to use hair products that smell good, because you don't want to keep smelling your hair and it stinks right. So it's very important that your products smell good and so the best, and so my price have all natural ingredients, but they don't smell good, they don't stink, but they have a very natural earthy scent and that's not something I personally want to put in my hair. So, of course, it's okay to, I feel like it's okay, to use fragrances or things like that as long as they don't irritate your scalp or your hair. As long as you - and this is part of formulating - you know the percentage you're supposed to use so that you use just enough to make the product smell good without causing any irritants or anything like that. So that's just kind of how I feel and, of course, with fragrance free options, not enough people ask for it for me to formulate it. So it's like until I get like a huge demand for it, I'm just not gon na. Do it now. My you know the original hair butter and my oils and my shampoo. Those are all fragrance free in the sense that they don't have any fragrance oils, but they do have essential oils. So it's like it's okay to put essential oils and products. Just say that uh. So perfect, timing, so yeah. I think it's perfectly fine. As long as you put the right amount like you, don't want to just put straight tea tree oil on your skin because it will burn your skin. I had a scar, it's still a little bit visible right here from doing that a couple years ago, but if you dilute it in a carrier oil, it's perfectly fine like when I before I had my own shampoo. I would take the shampoo that I used hi uh free Missouri and I would drop a couple drops of tea tree and peppermint oil in it same thing with my like skincare, I would have this thing of vitamin E oil and I would drop a couple drops Of it into um a tea tree oil into my shampoo, I mean into my oil because it helps to dry out your skin so that it's not acne prone. So I think a lot of people are just uneducated about ingredients, if I'm being honest, and so it causes a whole lot of drama. That'S not really necessary, like I'm, not gon na steal, y'all. Something - and my thing is also - I use it in my own hair. So it's like I'm not gon na make a product that I know is terrible, but I just want to make money from it because I'm I'm. I use a lot of my hair for my content for my business, so I'm not about to make a product. That'S bad for your hair and then use it on my own hair. If that makes sense so um you can get my products on our website. We'Re all sold out right now, but we'll be restocked on Friday. So that's not nice. What'S not nice um! I'M really! Thinking about just chopping it off now that I'm older and just protect the styling honestly, that's what I would have done in high school. If I was allowed to wear weave, I would just chop my hair from the beginning and then just wore braids or something until I grew back but um yeah um, someone said something about. Oh sorry, natural hair draining is a learning process. Absolutely my hair is not longer than the influencers I followed here when my hair was shade patient consistency, understanding hair. Is he okay? I I hear the shade I ain't gon na. Take it personal though, but I I get that like sometimes we we do. We doing the most reviews and engagement - I I can. I can be the first to say that, but um I don't know, I mean I'm glad your hair is growing, but uh yeah uh. What made you start, your business y'all so did my first viral video ever on Tick Tock, they got like four million views was on um, one of my hair product recipes and then y'all, like literally asked me to sell it for months, and I didn't then before I started med school, I did start selling it and now that's what I do full time with also being the influencer okay, I see a little bit of debate about the relaxers. This is my thing aside from the health issues and consequences, I mean I get why people relax their hair or still do it like it's a lot of work, it's not difficult, but it's a lot of work. Uh, yeah man oh hold on. I got you. Oh. I was just letting you know that I found what a leak was, I'm shooting over how you straight by the end of the day. Thank you so much appreciate you, no problem. I'M about to die. It'S gon na get hot in here cause I'm about to go. Get the heater, okay and then kind of flame it up, but after it's all done, you're gon na be back all right, appreciate you! Thank you. Why don't he do it y'all it's hot, like I'm telling you I'm burning up. I don't know why I kept this shirt on um. He'S polite, though he's not it's kind of. I know I'm like in my closet and I closed the door, so he wouldn't like get annoyed with me talking. So it's kind of awkward uh, but let's see uh how you make another girl feel better about her hair. My best friend, a trivia, pretty name always tells me her hair is ugly makes me feel terrible, because I wish I had hair like hers honestly. At the end of the day, you inside of yourself have to be confident about your hair, but of course I feel, like maybe words of affirmation, maybe try helping her learn different styles or things she can do with her hair. Maybe you know y'all get matching braids or matching Styles, or something like that and you know just continue to encourage her. That'S very sad though, but I mean it sucks that we've all been there. We shouldn't all have to go through that, but that's something that's very typical for us to go through um, because Society teaches us that we're ugly well study teaches us that our features are gorgeous, but just not on us. Let y'all want to talk about that. Do y'all, okay, um um? Let'S see someone said my opinions on okay, my idea on a business versus marketing. I say advertising is like the number one thing when it comes to Growing your business, because you got the best product out there say it all the time you could have the best product, but if no one knows about it, you're not gon na get any money Or orders or sales so grow a social media platform. I don't pay for average. I lie I pay for Facebook advertisements, but I just started like two months ago, but I mean, if you be consistent as in uh with your social media. I I'm mainly on Instagram. My business, I grew 20K with my business Instagram in just a couple of months so, like I get a lot of orders just from advertising on there and I just make sure I post every single day and it's not hard it's just whenever I make products, I Just film what I'm doing - and I just put it together like with my influencer content and there you go, and sometimes what I'm posting as the influencer will work. As my business like, if I'm doing a wash day routine using my products I'll post, that on my business Instagram or I do like the collaborator thing with my Instagram since my personal Instagram has like 100k - so yes, probably ship to Apo um. If you weren't an influencer, what would you be doing now? I would be a second year mess I'll be a second year, med student and absolutely miserable with my life and probably about 40 pounds heavier by this point. So I'm very blessed. You know when I started as an influencer. I remember telling myself. I would never do this full time. I was like I ain't gon na. Do this full time, I'ma be a med student and then I got to med school and I was like I don't like this and it was like. I just can't a million on Tick Tock in November last year November. I like making content, I feel like I could do this I feel like. I would be much happier just doing this running my business and God said: okay, we'll do it. I was like. Are you sure he's like yeah you're gon na suffer for a couple of weeks about a month or two, but you don't do it, but once you once I build up your faith, then everything's gon na be fine because he had me who y'all I was living Off of my savings, I, it was not good, I, the the but nothing. I wasn't getting no views. I was losing followers on every social media platform consistently and then he said. Okay, you had enough. Okay, now you're gon na trust me with your life, and I said: okay, I am, and so once I started trusting him with nothing. He gave me everything, so I got signed to an influencer agency. I hit six figures on my business in just six months. I you know, I just thought y'all here when I first went full time. I was at 20 000 followers on YouTube. I just grew for like 40K in two weeks, it's insane um my Ig. I grew to 107k. It is um, the Lord. He does it when you became an influencer. How did you feel so again when I first started, it was like full time so, like okay say like this, I started as being an influencer. Well, I started getting a platform during my Gap year before I went to med school because I graduated college a year early, so I graduated college at 20 and then like from August of that year, all the way to August of that next year I was at Home, so the the beginning so January of 2021 is when I went viral and then from January all the way until August. I just did like you know, creative content and stuff just for fun and then like right before I went to med school in August. I started my business since I had my own place and then I started growing a lot in med school realized. I didn't like med school. My business was doing very well for the fact that y'all I would just y'all remember this. I would only be restocked one weekend out the month and I would tell like I'll get like ten thousand dollars in sales off of just that one weekend, so I was like my business is gon na be fine and then the second. I did it full time. My business dropped so bad, but then it paid it picked up after a couple months, but it was low, y'all I'll be getting like one order a day. It was bad. Now I get like 30 or 40 a day which is incredible but yeah. So it's definitely very scary. I got this headband wig. I do not remember, I want to say you niece, but I'm not sure I did cut it though it was about 18 inches, it's probably not like 14., so I did cut it, but were your parents upset when you quit school, um, yeah, yeah yeah and I Think part of this is because my parents are very traditional. Oh my light went out. It'S okay, yeah, I'm gon na say how ghetto this thing is. It'S like taped to the thing, but um my parents are very traditional, so they don't really understand like the whole. Influencer thing they're like just stay in med school for another three years, and then you cannot practice if you don't want to just get the degree and I'm like, but I don't want to look I'll get it assistant they're supposed to go on the bottom and then Clip on but it broke, so I tape it to the anyways, but it's dead, but yeah. They were pretty disappointed, but I mean they ain't disappointed now I feel like they started changing for them. When I said I was going on a Dr Phil Show because they were like oh so you actually can make a career out of this, and I was like yeah. I try to tell you so now: it's not it's not that big a deal like even uh over Thanksgiving. I was saying how um I don't want them. My family, like Mike Sanders family to ask me about, am I still in med school and my dad was like wow, just tell them that you left and you have your own business and, like your family's, proud of you and I was like okay, so they supported Now my dad even he's he even commented on my uh YouTube video of me leaving med school. He was in them comments defending me, so it just took them a while to adjust it's hard when your children live their own lives and it's different than what you wanted them to do so. Um, let's see, do you learn all the information you know about hair throughout your whole hair journey? I actually learned most of it during the first six months, because I just like I said in the my hair Journey video that I posted like yesterday. I am a nerd, so it's like when I get set and focused on something I do everything I can to learn about it. That'S how I was with lifting weights during my Gap year and as I am with what that's, how it was with my hair with skin care everything I just get obsessed with it, and so I read so much stuff learned so much stuff. I had notebooks full of just like natural hair content, so I learned most of it during then and then over the next couple years. I would just pick up things along the way, but that's why I say dedicate a couple months to learning your hair. You won't regret it most of the stuff that I do with my hair. Now I learned during those first six months and it still applies um. This guy I got rewards is for seeking and putting her absolutely 100. Absolutely you ain't told no lie. That'S I mean I said I posted that uh short, where I said like what happened when I started putting God first, like legit y'all, think I'm playing about that. I'M not and someone's like well, isn't that just your hard work, I'm like baby the stuff that happened to me, I can't explain. I didn't do nothing to deserve it like I'm like, like. I can't explain, okay, how do I explain this to y'all like I didn't? Do nothing to deserve 40 000 followers. In two weeks. On this platform, I posted a video, because I was irritated with black women like not being confident in themselves, and I posted it. This video got almost seven million views. You see what I'm saying like I didn't deserve to grow. 70. 000 followers on my Instagram in just like two months. Who does that me? If y'all know me in person, if y'all knew me in high school me, everybody be like you're, the last person who would think would be an influencer and actually successful at it. I'M like you're telling me uh, it is legit. Okay. How do you get the motivation to go to the gym? Um? It'S not really motivation. It'S just that. I got tired of looking at myself in the mirror and feeling unconfident. I got tired of not being able to wear all them pairs of jeans behind me. I got tired of literally only feeling confident in leggings and large t-shirts, and I started looking at all my old pictures from when before I started med school and I was like dang, I was finally confident in my body. I could literally wear whatever I wanted, because I've been overweight, my whole life. So for me to get down to that size, I was like 140 pounds and it was perfect um and now I'm like 150 something so I was like almost 170, so we we calm that down real quick, but so it's more so like I didn't like where I was so I pushed myself to do something to get to where I am and the more consistent. I was the more I wanted to go so now it's like I like going to the gym. I feel bad. If I don't go - and I mean life gets in the way like last year, I mean last week, I only went like three days, but she was gon na try to go about four or five times, and I just pushed myself when I go and I count My calories and then also I eat right, no prepping, really that's in the video I posted today um but yeah um. Let'S see another question. This really got so far from here uh. By the way I will be turning my hair. I don't know if I said that, because I need to turn um not six to eight inches like last year, but definitely it's a trim also I'm still so mad about that she would have cut my hair off. I'M like if you didn't. I don't. I don't know I didn't get up. People were like. Why didn't you just get up when she noticed when you noticed I'm like I don't know, I don't answer that uh. I know it has nothing to do with the question, but have you ever questioned God? I'M not really think like I'm not really like. Is he real or is he not? I just think I'm not ready to go duh yeah and Christians that tell you they have and they're lying I'll question him, especially when it's like one of those things where you don't feel like he shows up, but it's like he really just he working just behind The scenes - but you don't know that and like God, he would just like show me what you're doing I would be okay, but he doesn't so you just have to kind of just sit there and trust him um. So I've definitely done that. So it's more! So just pushing yourself to trust him and, like I would just catch myself like in my daily routine, like every time I would doubt I'd be like nope God's got it. What did I say? I said um I'll say something like no, I'm not going to worry about this God's got it. I'M gon na leave it alone, something like that or like I post a video in the 13th video in a row. It tanks I'm losing followers and I'm not making any money in my business I said nope thank you, God for what the orders I did have I'ma trust you to push me through to the next month and it happened um but yeah definitely question God, I'm like I'Ll be like God, what are you doing? Hey come on bro like in the most respectful way possible. Can you not like it's? Okay, that's why I feel like it's important, to have a relationship with God. I talked to him like he's sitting right there, because I'm like God now you know you was wrong for doing that, but you're not wrong, but I feel like you're wrong, but I know you're not wrong, so it's just more of a um. They, like you, respect God, but it's also a friendship thing. It'S okay to be real, like it's! So pretty it's okay, to pray to God and be like God, I'm upset with you, I'm mad at you, you're irritating me. Why aren't you showing up, I know you're there, but I don't feel like you're there so like what's going on, can you not like I'd be talking to God like that and he's like? Okay? First of all, you got too much dick on your chip. That'S my saying: you got too much dip on your chip, you to calm down. I got you just keep going. Okay, I don't need you to tell me what to do I'll, be like okay. You have to check me like that, but I understand and then like a couple days later, something like works out. So it's just one of the things the stronger you get with God by just praying constantly reading your word constantly um. It will get easier to deal with life because now it's like anything that happens to me, I'm not gon na, say I never doubt God or anything, but it's like I really just like slap myself in the face, I'm like because I'm like Britney, you know good And well, you were in the same situation two months ago and God worked it out. So why are you freaking out now like in October? I barely made any money with my business and I was like, oh my goodness, I'm not making any money freaking out all the time, and I was literally like you were just like this in May, and then you saw what God did for you over the summer. So why are you freaking out now and then lo and behold, I make almost 40 000 in my business uh in November uh, which more than made up for what I didn't make in October. So it's just like sometimes I'll, be like you're, an idiot, because you see what God has done in your life and then you still have the nerve to question him like. Are you stupid yeah? I am stupid, anyways um, so yeah, I'm a Christian. I struggle! I'M not gon na be afraid to admit that, like it's, not a bad thing, there are certain things I struggle with certain things that I do. I should not be doing and all type of stuff um so don't feel bad for questioning God it happens. Um. Do you eat meat? Yes, I love meat, I'm a meat eater. If I could choose between being a vegetarian and a carnivore I'd be a carnivore hello, see. There was a point where I've been like a whole year without eating red meat or pork. But then I went home and my family eats red meat and pork, and I don't like to cook so. My stepmom was cooking everything, so I just ate what she had until now, I'm back to eating everything. I don't really eat a lot of beef, but I do like bacon because I like breakfast, so I'm always making eggs and bacon. That'S a super good, low calorie. You know meal idea for me. Well, he went lying. He said it's gon na get hot in here who child I'm gon na have to wash my hair tomorrow, because I can't take no cold shower and I wash my hair in the in the shower. I think today I might film, like me, reacting to my controversial tick tocks, because that was a video idea I had. I might do that today. Just react to that. Like all my clothes appropriation stuff because I like to like you know, make people like uncomfortable because it's fun, so I might do that um I've been so jealous. You didn't found out you're a Christian period here for it. I was doing Bible studies every Wednesday. On my Ig, but then I like fell off of it so, but I'm gon na find a way to do it across all platforms. Maybe I'll do like a little 10 minute Bible study. You know throughout the week on each of my platforms, because I like doing Bible studies, I like having you know, like Christian us together it's hard to find Christian people out here. You only see them on Tick Tock. I don't know no Christian people like me um. I know a few, but not as much as people make a scene. I think I'm gon na try to go to a church for the first time in like two years because of Kobe on um this Sunday, okay, what kind of the girl my followers on my platform, I'm a beginner! Do you have any advice for me sure, um! So what I do is number one: okay, it's kind of a long answer um, so I feel like the type of influence you want able to will determine the type of platform you want to grow on first me, I learned very quickly that Tick Tock was not The platform that I wanted to be on for longevity and really the center of my career, because Tick Tock is very temporary, very up and down. Sometimes you have a good video. Sometimes you don't it's not really a lot of stability versus YouTube and then under that is Instagram. That'S where I really want to grow, especially for like a beauty type influencer that my lovely self is but um, I would say the main thing is being consistent in following Trends, whatever Niche you're in see the people that are popular in that and literally copy their Videos, but with your own spin, so mine, like I would say, I'm a decent hair influencer right so see the way that I make my videos and then copy that see how long videos are the type of music that I do do I do voice over. Do I talk in my videos um, my angles: do I get close far away um? This is my filming Studio, yo right here. This is how I make all my content right there. I need nothing, fancy I'll, do nothing! Fancy now for YouTube. I do have a camera, I did buy a 600 lens, but that's after having my YouTube channel for like a year, so I was like. Let me just invest why'd. I mess this up so yeah. That'S that um! Let'S see what is your IG account? It'S in the description of all my videos: uh, let's see where's my boyfriend at I don't know you don't have to ask God, because I ain't got no idea. Um I'll, say it because I don't care. I ain't never been in a relationship and I know like that's probably like so weird at 23, but I don't care it's not that I had to have opportunities. I mean, have you seen me, I'm just kidding, but it's not how I haven't had opportunities. I just I'm not playing around with people. That'S one thing, I'm not tempted by is well. No longer is like just being with someone just to be with somebody like I'm good being by myself and saving myself from all the drama I see y'all going through and then, when God wants me to be with somebody I'll just be with somebody, and it won't Be toxic and all this type of stuff y'all like to say it's cute, my little brother he's 17 he's almost 18. he's grown up too fast. He likes that he'll talk, so I'm like that is not okay. I was like you want to be arguing with someone all the time he's like that means that you know that they love them, I'm like no he's like. Otherwise, it's just boring. I'M like okay, you're gon na learn, You're Gon na Learn it's hard for me to get my give me to trim my hair because I, like my hair, honestly think about it like um you're doing it now, so it will pay off later. If you don't trim them in you're, gon na have to trim out way more than you wanted to at that time versus. If you go ahead and just trim the ends it'll be back before you know it, and you won't have to worry about extra breakage.

ηιккι ρσρε🦂: I don’t know you but I’m sooooo proud of you young lady. Keep up the excellence love

Tennille Bowens: This live was awesome! Thank you for sharing so much about your journey. You are so right when you say that putting God 1st is the way to success. Nothing is possible without Him! And you're giving me the motivation to start selling my own hair products. I'd love to speak with you about marketing. I know you're busy. But an email would be awesome! I've been making my own products for about 2 months now, and it's really helped grow my hair out. I've cut, not trimmed, my hair several times because it's gotten too long for me to handle. I'm disabled, so I can't physically do my hair as fast as the average person. Wash DAY is wash DAYS for me. I prepoo the night before and let it sit overnight. I wash and deep condition the next morning. And the day after that I style. I use protective styling to extend my wash days and retain moisture.
