Diy/ How To: Make Your Own Clip In Hair Extensions

This is my first voice over so bare with me. :P And yes I know, these hair extensions don't match my hair color. I tried my best to explain how I create my own extensions so if you have any further questions, please leave a comment down below! Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe!!

Hey guys welcome back to my channel today's video is going to be a DIY and make your own clip in hair extensions and I've been doing this for years. So it's a pretty foolproof way of making your own hair extensions, and it also will cost you less. In the long run, so I'm going blonder, the camera is picking it up a little bit more orangie than it is in person, and so I wanted to get some hair extensions to help match my hair they're a little too light for my hair. Yet because I am going blonder and I don't know how long I will be blonde or how long I'll like it, so I didn't want to spend a crazy amount of money on hair extensions. So I went to Sally's and bought a pack of one long weft, and then I caught him up and put clips on them. So if you want to see how to do that, then just keep watching. Ok. So to start you will need a pack of hair extensions and two packs of 12 large clips and then some crazy glue. I used to sew my clips on, but it took way too long and I always poked myself and then you will need some scissors. So I'm just going to take the little gold wraps off of the hair, so I can get it out of the package, nothing too exciting and fancy. Yet so I took all of the hair out and it is kind of a mess right now, because it's all folded up, so it's actually doubled that size that you see there. So first, I'm just going to measure where I'm going. To put my three clip left. My first three clip weft we're going to make two of those, so one will go right there, which is at the top of my earlobes and then what one will go right above that so I'm just taking where I measured and then I'm going to cut where That little seam is be careful not to cut the hair, just try to cut the left, which is the little threaded part that keeps the hair. So once I have my first three clip left cut, I'm going to take half of that and measure along the rest of the left, so that I can make my second three clip left because they will be the same exact blank and I'm just going to put That over there with the other one and then cut away so there's the second three clip left that we will do later and then I'm going to measure the four clip weft, which is probably right where my temples are around the back of my head and that'll. Go right above the two-three clip weft. So now that I have that measured, I'm just going to cut like I did to the three clip left. But I didn't film that so then I'm going to cut or I'm going to measure where the two clip weft will be, which are right on the sides of my head, which will help blend so any layers that you have. So then, I'm going to measure that and cut it to the rest of the left so that I can have another two-piece or two cliff left on the other side of my head, so it'll match the other side. I hope this is making sense. Okay, so here are all of the left's we have to to clip weft 2 or 3 clip weft in 1/4, clip weft and then a little bit hair left over. So now we are going to blue the weft together. So, first, just taking the first weft I'm going to glue only about half of it, because the glue likes to dry super super fast. So you have to work very quickly and then you want to give the wefts and I squeeze so you can ensure the glue. Is tight and then we are going to repeat the process and then taking the clips. We are going to start with the two clip left and you're going to do the same thing that you did to the left. You are going to glue on top of the metal part I like to put the clip down first before I glue it just so, I can ensure that it is in the correct place and I won't clip it the wrong way. You you there's one to clip. Left complete and I did the other to clip left off-camera, there's three clip left and I did the other three clip left off-camera as well, and now we are just finishing up with the forklift left, which is the biggest web. That are we going that we are going to be putting in our hair, so this is the finished product. I hope you guys enjoy this video and found it at least a little bit helpful. So thank you for watching.

Khichi Beauty: Perfect. Am going to try

IceBetweenEyeliner: I mean I was looking for how to cut off my own hair and make it into an extension but this is cool too.

Cat Jackson: You just saved me hours of sewing time. I'm marking a few clip in's highlights for my bangs. Thank you girlfriend!!

Devon Stone: Gorilla glue works great for this process. I find that krazy glue loosens after a while, especially with washing and using products on my extensions. great video XX

Alexandra: Love this video. Here I was wasting my time sewing every piece and clip...it was a full day process. You deff simplified it for me. Thanks!

Deborah T: This will be so time-saving! In the past I had spent hours sewing wefts together and then afterward added clips by sewing. Gluing will make the job much quicker. Thank you!

Laila Padulo: after all these years not once did i think of crazy glue! always spent hours and hours sewing. Thank you !!

Maria Yamilet Triminio: Great video! Could you make a video of you putting the extension in place?

Christy Gonzalez: Is this the best brand you have found? It's from Sally's, correct? I so love the idea I made my first extensions in feb. But due to my short hair I was unable to get the look I wanted. I've spent so much time looking at reviews. An with 4 children it's not affordable for me to threw money away. Can't believe most reviews since they are sponsored by the company they are reviewing.

Gabriela Alcocer: this is sooo much easier then sewing them in omg thank you!

Brandie Baxter: Wow this is actually an awesome idea and a great tutorial! I was totally going to go and spend a bunch of money on hair extensions but this is so much easier on your wallet. I was just curious as to why you glued two pieces of the weft together instead of just having one piece of weft? Is that personal prefrence to have them thicker, or does it make them look more natutal, or what? Loving your channel, by the way ☺

Tasia Johnson: I’ve been a zala customer for years and every hair colour change or different hair mood my first thought has always been gotta grab new Zalas then :) Where do you get your extensions

Jenny Branson: Thank you! This was GREAT and I appreciate your tutorial! It worked well!

Kris Andrich: I am making my own extensions for the first time & after watching a bunch of videos, I think I'm going to try to glue the Wefts together 1st but then still sew the actual clips on. I am a little nervous about using super glue tho & I just read a comment that mentions using a hot glue gun and I wonder How well that works and if maybe it would be better than using Super Glue? *but still a good tip that has led me to some other great ideas! Sp Thanks for sharing.

Sharon Cross: Why have I never thought of that?!?! Using glue for the clips!! Thanks for the tip!! Xx

Dragon Alchemy: DO NOT use super glue, as it is not meant to be placed against the scalp/skin. Instead try latex bonding glue for the gaps left open between doubling wefts, AFTER the clips are sewn onto the wefts using a C shaped needle. The tacky feeling left behind when using latex glue can be removed by lightly gliding on arrow root powder when sealing off the edges of your wefts to prevent shedding after cutting, that greatly extends the life of your extensions. There is a very high chance of permanently damaging hair wefts using super glue that will slowly break down the hairs bond. Leading to shedding, stiff tracks and scalp burns.

Claudia Herrera: Thank you! I converted my old tape in extensions to clip ons lol

Yoli Reals: Thank you so much for showing this!

Yezzi Yezzi: don't the extension pieces harden & become hard to conform to the head? I feel like they would be stiff where the glue was applied & would stick up a bit instead of laying flat

Ana Santos: Thanks! It was so much easier than sewing ;)

Tayuyya Uchiha: this made me so excited to see how quick and easy it was to make cx im really ecited about trying this thank you so much

Chan Tilly: I've been waiting for WEEKS! for someone to help me make extensions and now i can do them myself thank you so much!!! I had no idea how easy it was to make them❤

Paula Pancake: I really wanted to focus and remember each step, but as soon as you layed the hair down on your pants to glue them together, I was lost, because i am dumbfounded on how the hec you just SUPER glued all that together, using your pants for support, with no gloves, and didnt seem to drop or get any glue on anything except the hair. My extensions would be glued to my pants, and my fingers glued to the hair. Wow, you have talent, for DIY clip ins, and some home improvement tasks to. Loved the video, how you got to the point, didnt talk about your dog, or job, etc. Just a clear instruction on what the video was intended for. A+

sugar sedative: im so glad i clicked on this video first!! i was totally gonna try to sew my clips in, and didnt think super glue would work. this is gonna save me a ton of time

Cherish Chavez: Oh my gosh, this looks so easy! Thank you so much! I made my own extensions a few years ago and sewed them! Now I can’t believe I wasted all that time!!! I can’t wait to make myself some new ones now! THANK YOU!

Megan montgomery: Thank god I only tried this on the very end of my weft, the crazy glue makes the weft so incredibly hard, I couldn’t even imagine trying to get these things in my hair properly if I had have crazy glued all of them! Not too mention, whatever they treat the hair with reacts with the chemicals in the crazy glue! So the hair close to the weft literally started smoking! Once dried you could see the glue and the hair was hot to the touch! Take the long road and sew them!

remy 323: Thank you for the tip of the crazy glue I would always sow them and it would take me FOREVER! Thank you sooooooooo much what a life saver lol

Kim Mattew: Love your hair so much !!!! thank you for the awesome hair clip in tutorial!!!! for 100% human hair, check out the soft and silky CLIP ON 7PCS on http://www.thehairrock.com/ http://www.thehairrock.com/hair-pieces/clip-on/clip-on-7pcs-100-human-hair.html Don't forget to get the ROYAL REWARD POINTS!!!

Tammy Dang: Do we have to glue the ends of the seam that we cut so that the sides don’t frey or so that hair does not fall off?

crystal davis: Thank You for this ❤️❤️

Mumma mea: Here’s a good tip...glue on a table so your jeans won’t get stuck

Hailee Harrington: Thank you for this! I made my first ever extensions along with this video and they are PERFECT!

mai: Can you give me the link to the wefts you bought? I really love the color and want to try it out. Thanks. :)

Jodi: Omg! I've been wearing extensions for about 35 years...probably before you saw white girls with them! I have always sewn the clips on. I would love to try it your way but I'm afraid the glue wont hold. I wear really long hair-26". Do you think it'llhold? Also, how do you take them out and does taking the clips off mess up the weft/hair? THANK YOU!! Jodi

Kyra Harris: Great idea thanks for sharing!  I will be trying this tomorrow

Heather Ginn: Glue the wefts then sew on the clips as you wear and wash your extensions the crazy glue will soften up at this time glue them back together but do not stretch flat and glue. Glue as they have formed.

Pleuni Felter: Love my Zala 12inch ponytail - Itis sthe perfect item for work everyday or for a half up half down style look i pretty much never leave the house without mine

K A: Yes! thank you for a no sew tutorial! yay!!

Sara Stark: this is awesome, I've wondered about making my own. maybe to make them last longer glue first then a quick stitch on both ends of the clips to secure them longer? is sewing them messy?

Theresa Roussell: great idea with the supper glue & helping me know the measurements for each weft.

SUGARBEAR911: THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO THAT I HAVE SEEN ON MAKING CLIPS

Terry Marie Hester: I really liked your video. I would like to know can you do six clips for the whole head Not half a head, but for the whole head.

beautiful T Rachel: i know this was YEARS ago..do you have a video on putting them in and styling them?

Erin Baade-Lemire: Ahhh! I know it's unrelated but that shirt is awesome! Where did you get it?

Lissa Retromancer: What a great idea to glue the wefts onto the wig clips!  I've always sewn mine too!

Carla M: Best video ever. U rock girl!!

mellcamp: Genius!!!!!

Chrisby Calderon: Video was so helpful ! You deserve so many subs

brooke grant: about how long does the glue last? does it need to be re glued often or stay?

Wiki Koraline: Thankyou for this video you saved my life!

Jessica V.: Am I the only one who uses Velcro instead of clips? My hair is very fine, clips are heavy and painful. I tease my roots and attach with hook/loop Velcro. Plus you can get the self adhesive Velcro at the dollar store and the adhesive works great on the weft, and soaking in coconut oil breaks down the adhesive on the Velcro if you want to put the clips back in. Although I do put a couple stitches in because I keep the loop part of the Velcro to place over the hook when not wearing so they don’t tangle in the Velcro. The stitch makes it easier to pull off the Velcro loop. DO NOT superglue your extensions. Good rule, don’t put anything on your extensions you wouldn’t put in your own hair.

Josh Jackson: Using hair glue to glue the wefts together works soooo good and then super glue the clips!

flanmaryj: I'm trying this. When I have time, I'll sew over them with fishing line.

Gaby A: thank you so much for this video!!!!!! good idea with the glue, does it hold good??

virgo blonde: love the idea of super glue but how long does it last instead of sewing the clips? and wish you would've put the extensions in to see how they looked.

Stephanie Garza: Can I still wash the extensions after using this technique?

Amanda Nettles: hi if my hair is really short and dark blonde would it look weird if I get extensions that are reddish with blonde highlights. i have never warn hair extensions and I'm thinking about getting some. they are on sale at sallys right now.

Renfri Kusikepa: Cool, my friend ... Really presents interesting content .. I am waiting for your next video and God bless us.

A D: Did the ends need weft glue? I was afraid to cut mine because I thought they would unravel.

April Jones: Love that idea about the super glue ..... how long does the glue last before you have to re-glue them again.....

Georgia aka Gin: This is so helpful!

Women's Impowerment Network: Brilliant!

Brooke: I wished I saw this last night as i was sewing extensions :(

Joyce King: Thank you!! For showing me a easy way to do this.Cause trying to sew the hair extensions and the clips on 2 much work.I will try dis hair style next week.once again Thank u. :) :)

Cheyenne Truelove: WTF I’ve been sewing every weft omg thank you

Jessica: Omg like nails to a chalkboard watching you SUPERGLUE YOUR HAIR EXTENTIONS TOGETHER. girl, no!!!

Valentino Valentino: Love it

Haley: Great idea!

Lina G.: Good to know, I will have to try next time crazy glue, that would be great if it last longer then the hot glue. Thanks Sarah for your reply back.

YariGlows215: Thank you very much! you went straight to the point in an easy step by step way...Cyber hugs from me to you ha,ha..i will do all the step with the glue ect but i will sew the clips also just be on the safeside,Great tutorial! you have won a subbie.

Skylar Worley: how many wefts and whats the width and what exact brand from sallys?

Hannah Truesdale: holy shit thank you. I cannot will not sew.

Gricel Arzola: so you showed in your video that you cut 2 for 3 clip and 2 for 4 wefts. so in total there would be 4 for the 3 clip since you are gluing them together? a bit confused!

Yasmine Vine: What? With glue? This makes it sooooo much easier! I use hot glue to make costumes everyday! I didn't think I could make hair extensions! This is a game changer for me!

Monica Tamble: Very helpful! So glad I found your video.

America Bless God: How long did these Sally's brand last??? And what specific kind??? Did you find any better since??? Any complaints???

Emaleth Burns: I know this is probably a dumb question but How do you know how much to measure/cut for the whifts like the two clip whift how do you know how much to measure?

Misty Collins: Thank you!!!!❤

The Shade Room: You guys are great

Princess Zayath: totally way easier. how long does it last with the Super glue?

Mary Pasternak: I Get my zalas tapes custom cloured u have a very ehavy set of highlights that i get done a certain way, my hair dresser loves how well they take to dye!

Haitian Divaz: Where did you get the glue? :) btw I love your videos

kasztankap: wow great!!!! Sarah, why do you make it double, why do you glue 2 layers?

Ms. Oliver’s Life: May I ask what color the weft is? Looks perfect for me.

makeup with jessi: How does the glue hold up when you wash them?

Yas A: Great job does any crazy glue work ?

Dahlia Destruction: but i have a little question, i bought hair extensions yesterday and they are so heavy on my head and my strands, is that a solution for them? and if i want to cut them to shoulder length would that make their weight less? and can i divide 1 piece extensions to like 2 or 3 pieces?

Amanda Hill: My hair is brown with blonde highlights on the top half of my head and the bottom is brown. What color extensions should i use??

Lacey Ann: this is such a good idea.. not only will you spare your hair from damage and being ripped out by using glue but it's also great for hot nights/days when you just wish you could take all that off aaand also you can take it off before bed so it doesn't get ratty if you can't afford the good real hair

GodsLorrainbow: I've been hair stylist almost 30 years and have colored clip in many times and got 99 in HE sewing and girl in store made me think it would be so hard to do this and talked me into buying pre made!! Never again! What a waste of money!
