Hey guys so today I want to talk to you about my honest experience with hair extensions hair grows about hair variances. I feel like the system and really need to talk about. I'Ve done quite a lot of blog post about it. I'Ve never discussed this on youtube and I really think this might help a lot of people. So, first of all, when I was probably 14 a such fine hair extension and those worn ID were clip ins I was were actual like bonded extensions or them. I tried all of the extensions you can possibly imagine. I guess I was just addicted to having more hair. It made me feel ridiculously confidence yeah. It definitely will make a shield and trust me. I got that taken away from me. I lack confidence so so so much so here is my hair extensions story, so I use automatic tension that you can pour so together and put the clips on and it actually looks really good. I kind of look at that stage. I'Ll try these pictures, so you can see by what's up Phaedra. I was so addicted to her attentions that I could always tell when someone was wearing hair extensions and I literally addicted clip em bozos like they do not damage my hair at all, because they're clippings, but firstly, I think they do actually become addictive. I was literally addicted to my quickens, the point where my natural hadn't wasn't bad, but the other was so. You have neither long lashes flops when I took them out. It felt so weak and spin and horrible and scrawny in comparison to all of this day care that it means me self-conscious about my normal hair. So you kind of have to give yourself time away from them to realize that your actual hair after you find also clipping up engines, are acting. You number ones. They way it's the weight. They are genuinely really heavy, which and talks on the house and like these, it's here this week and it was really took on the mother's life. Iqbal touches our water quality and, and then also yes, oh the wave does that an eclipse already love your hair and I might do later plan for attentions cheaper. That mentions everything you can imagine, but you cannot stop that weight from your hair. So it's the weight that kind of really does damage to hair, and I even got one of those like wire ones that you still don't need to put much here because they didn't didn't go all the way to here have already tried absolutely everything you can imagine. Actually, this sleeping written, sometimes because my ex-boyfriend new things are so bad about myself. Very hateful short half was sleeping with him food ruined. My hair talked about how to brew in your hair, and so then I got to university and I got bombed out extensions and usual like actually bonded at Sundance, a team player, and they look absolutely incredible. I'Ve never been happier well looking about now. We all waited blonde, so don't judge me. It was back in a day, but it looks good in terms of like length and I just really really like them. I was really happy with them back then, but they still really damaged my hair because he was bonded to my hair like glued. I could not get them out of my hair. So, even though I'd like run my fingers through every night and kind of like trying, even as neat as possible, they still did get ridiculously mashed in my hair. So I have to get someone to take them out with after time and ghts, I'm actually filling them out of my hair. Why don't you eventually black my hair, my once at hours like combing, my hair, true generally back in it Co? I would like, with literally know how I had like one strand and obviously the bleached it contribute, or this as well. I have one strand the power absolutely destroy. I literally looked disgusting. My scalp was in agony. It was really weak here. So I spoke to had a something like any probably giving you an are very active alopecia because you had just not going to grow back and out, like you have made this happen by wearing out engines are too long now they're using your hair chance to breathe. I mean I actually think if you've been aware its engines, all the time and you do take them out, gives you a chance to breathe you really strict with your maintenance. I mean bondage once chooses. If I allows - and now I get a mic read and every six weeks or something they just mash in all my hair - completely ruin it like absolutely destroying it and even ridiculously expensive blonde attentions to buy like a celebrity hairdresser. I'M not saying it's all. I think just bond in that sentence. You are giving something to your hair, they just didn't slide out and literally makeup. We didn't touch my hair, so am I having from that and literally taken me years and years and years I have sought where I want it to be, but you know how to me. This is a lot of hair like I have thick hair. This is like for me and, like oh, my golly, had it was looking at back of past extended time like a balls loss. It was disgusting. I have absolutely no confidence for years and years and years, I've, basically what a first half and I wore my hands kind of clicked it up and I clipped it up for a year because my hair dress was like. Can they have to drop? Everything was that you have start from fresh and that's what I did. It was an absolute disaster. I do I put my hair down because I have my hair up pretty much every day for a year did not use heat on it. So yeah, I was talking like four years on now. This is where we're at so I go to suck so you're going to go to someone called meat cutter. He is incredible. He used to lead someone now he works in Manchester. I started going to him about a year ago when I first walked in and he looked at my hair and he was like and, to be honest, like it was from going to kind of a mixture of like some of the houses, because some of them were Bad, some of them did bad for each of someone be complete shop with their pensions as well. I need to sort one. I have a bike. Well then start from scratch, and I was like. Oh my god, I mean I'm a female. I feel like my hair. Just my life shield, I was devastated when he literally got everything wrong, but I really trusted him. So I worked with him in every single four weeks. I'D go back and a lot of it. I like, oh, my god. I'Ve been service research on her birth and most important thing is to treat your hair like a bed of soil like a garden when a weeds come you need to cook them, and it's such a mess that you can you'll have an ethnic very long and is The way to grow it, it's a sin. It'S growing going back week, it's just common knowledge that it's dead, it's better to cut it off and then let it grow back stronger and longer and then it's getting longer wise. It'S not you from LA to eat this. At the end, if you know a lot of people that never get their hair cut, but it's all kind of like dead at the ends, whereas if you just get regular trims and it's going to be better so I started treated my hair like flour, that or Like a piece of silks, I barely use heat alert, I always use heat protection and I'm just very gentle and careful with my hat and leave my hat every single four weeks and he's going by the growing patterns and honestly, I'm so happy with my hair. Now I was still working to grow, but the good thing in my hand the damage stage and is growing so product wise and so many blog post, my favorite product, I'll link them all below. But I actually didn't realize your comfort too much protein onto your heart. Had no idea, so it's really good to go to a really good haggis and talk to them about this, I'm so straight for how to. But now I kind of stick to someone that I really trust lightly, because a really fun experience, a experiences I have had in the past and emily is just so freaking brilliant. So my favorite products at the moment, I use all my carrot sauce, which is their thermal protectors in the silver bottle, I'll link it below and it's amazing. They could cream that you put on your hair before you blow drying it, and I think amuse that your hair and it's technically like 48 hours of mine, which is amazing, it might get them like all the time. I also love killed because I have natural. So I know that I like really go to my hair: another vedras love, so a really good natural friend fussing more to do really bit like treatments and stuff for kolitar. So I kind of thought on and LTL bleach my hair again, but I can't like it's blonde and I put blonde if I just don't wan na go like soup one but boy in Station Li. My hair is growing and I feel so much more confident. So much more happy, I'm totally over the whole meeting to have had outside them anyway. I just wanted like this lemons anyway. So I'm happy with that. I you eat on it now, but yeah. I guess just fine to share my story with you I'll be really interested, so if you guys have had any experiences with hair extensions, heat protection, I'd love to know your stories, because I mean I really struggled with confidence for a long time. I felt so shitty and I see like girls with amazing. You know hand, it just make sure oh crap, it's funny, because it is amazing that really can destroy your conscience. My mom's always said you should pay for a good hairdresser, because it is something people see every single day. So I'm really glad I kind of got out of the stains a few, and I can need it long hair and I was strict with myself. I found myself messages. Actually my hairdresser before me, she's great Jade. She was like you are bound to a tangent. You are not going there then and she's, I'm so glad. She said that to me cuz she was the one that was like you are like. I will literally never speak to you again if you put hair attention, then, because everyone you, how much kind of turmoil and trauma caused myself so yeah, let me know you enjoy anything similar loving. If you are attention and if, like a brief question satsang your favor hair products - and I will see you soon - thanks watching

Samantha Victorino: I am literally going through this right now!! I just took my extensions out two days ago and I have never felt worse about myself! My hair is gone.. it is SOOO THIN it just looks awful and my first insitinct was to put them back in because as a woman your hair is such a huge part of you and now I am soo insecure about my hair I wish I knew before what extensions did to your hair. Thank you for sharing so I know I’m not the only one.

Samantha: I just had tape ins done and night 2 my scalp felt like it was severely on fire, I had to remove them this morning. I felt like I was stripping my confidence with each one I removed. Thank you for your video, we Women really need to love ourselves more. ❤️

Megan Blakley: I just found your video because I'm at a loss as to what to do! I also wore clip ins for a long time because my natural hair was medium-long, but thin so I always felt self conscious that the clips ins would show so about 10 weeks ago I went and got tape ins put in by my hair stylist of over 2 years. I LOVED them but I did notice that every time I brushed them, which I did multiple times a day to avoid that knotting and matting, I felt like SO much hair was falling out. I just assumed that because I previously was quite a shedder, that with the extensions there would obviously be more shedding. I got them taken out so they could be re-taped, washed and toned, and then reinstalled a week later. However when I got home I realized I was missing about 3" of length and my hair is so much thinner! Towards the bottoms it looks like there's literally 20 strands around my entire head. I cried for days. went out and ordered the entire Olaplex line, collagen, biotin, etc. I wear my hair up everyday because I feel so self conscious with it down. Although I loved the extensions, it's not worth it in my opinion. Just go with what God gave you.

Smile it’s Mads: I’m addicted to hair extensions right now and my hair has taken such a toll but I don’t wanna stop

Rhianon Smith: I’ve just had an LA weave removed. Had it in for 3 months because of lockdown and spent all day crying yesterday today because my hair is so thin, brittle and I swear I’ve lost some length too. My hair wasn’t coloured and was really healthy before, I just wanted length. I’m absolutely devastated and feel so self conscious

JenZ Amaze: Thank you for sharing. I am a hairstylist but never deal with hair extensions too much. And haven’t really heard the negative side of hair extensions. I was considering getting some in because age does a number to your hair and you just mourn the hair you once had. But I think I will just stick with my natural. So glad I watched your video.

Jennifer Bibi: Short hair is awesome. Honestly, it's amazing how much we tolerate when it comes to romantic relationships. I would like to think I'd dump my hypothetical boyfriend for shaming me for my hair but who knows. I will reiterate that short hair is sexy :)

Vanessa Di Cenzo: I’ve had bonded extensions a few times over the last couple years and my hair is totally destroyed. This last year I had two sets in back to back and just had them taken out about a week ago and I look like I have no hair. Ironically I was never all that self conscious about my fine hair but just wanted thicker, longer hair. Now every time I look in the mirror I want to cry. I think I might also try not using heat and just clipping it up - it grows so slowly I need to do everything possible to get it back to where it was.

Natasha P - The Singing Lawyer: Brilliant video. I'm at the stage of trying to recover my hair and I think the main part in someone's journey is to start feeling comfortable in your own hair and knowing how much you need to take care of it. I've gotten rid of all extensions, stopping my bond extensions now and just trying to get my hair back!

Hare Life: My hair gets so knotty and I had tape in hair extensions and even though I was doing everything reccomended to help keep them healthy they did the same thing as your and just ended up matted! Luckily I only had to cut a few out which are now growing out stumps, but I've had to have a couple inches cut off to start the healing process off again! I'm determined to get my natural long luscious locks back again this year! Xx

Linda Hally: Thanks for sharing your story. I had keratin bonded extensions in for 2 months and just took them out myself the other day (due to lockdown). I put them in as I was trying to grow out my own hair and thought they would get me through the awkward growing out stage. They have grown a little but my hair is so wispy and thin. When I compare it to photos before I got the extensions in, it’s clear to see how much thinner and lifeless it is now. I’ve been using Olaplex the last few days to build it back up so I’m hoping over the next few months it will strengthen. I’m also going to go brown from blonde when hair salons reopen (in Ireland) as I think highlights really thin my hair. Needless to say, I will never be getting extensions again! X

Aloha Sisters: Thank you for sharing your story! I used to use clip-ins and it totally ruined my hair! I already had thin hair but it was a million times better than what I’m left with now The Jessica Simpson clip-in’s causes bald spots on the upper sides of my head. I wish there was a way to grow the hair back, but now I’m left with shorter hair that I hate. Soooo sad!

Lexie Taylor: I have literally no hair on the back of my head from extensions. Thank you for this video!!!!

itsvally: Im so humbled an overwhelmed that you share this story with us! It was a horrible time for you, so I appreciate that you want us to be careful and share your experiences with us. Xxx

Jessica Jayne: Used to use clip in hair extensions all the time even to the point where i would sleep in them! Ive gone two years without and the difference is amazing. My hair has grown so much with the help of coconut oil and is much healthier! I still have the odd section of hair at the front thats thinner but hopefully after time!

Moonraker ASMR: Clips ins made me bald, I wore them through my teenage years and I still even 15 years later have permanent bald spots where my clips were when I was younger. I have worn nano rings for about 5 years now and they have saved my hair. Every time I have them maintained (every 8 weeks) and have them removed, my real hair has grown more and more. I had hair above my shoulders when I started and now my real hair is 25 inches down my back and is healthier than ever. I would never have anything with glue or anything heavy like clip ins in my hair, but the nanos have allowed me to keep my super long locks whilst my hair underneath continues to grow and is actually protected by the nanos wrapped around it. Recommend 100% for those who want extensions but don't want to damage their own hair ❤️

Sierra Ryder: I just got mine taken out and I lost half of my thickness I am so sad right now :( my hair looks awful now

Jane d’Arc: Thanks a lot for your honest talk about hair extensions, I was just thinking to have it done to get more volume but after watching your video I have a change of mind, thanks again

Nicola Phillips: I had hair pre bonded hair extensions in 2 years ago and it ruined my perfectly fine hair which I had grown out and was so happy with, my confidence was destroyed when I had them taken out as all my hair had broken off and I was left with uneven thinning hair I've just had another set of hair extensions taken out and trying to let my hair grow and become healthy but it's so short and thin I hate it, currently wearing it up every day! X

Prince55Galia: Hiya love this video I have been told by 2 hairdressers (yes I got a second opinion lol) not to have anymore hair extensions- I have been getting them done on and off for 18 years!!! My hair has been chopped to a long extremely thin bob and I did feel really depressed. I explained it to my mum the same way you did it was a shield, it made me feel confident and I felt very exposed without them! I have not had them in for 2 and a half weeks now and I am starting to get used to the idea. Focusing on treatments I can do to improve the condition, volume and re-growth but I do miss them.... I hope I can get hair that looks like yours naturally eventually. I have been advised to use Nioxin 3 step treatment but any other recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks for this video made me feel better- my husband thinks I am so stupid even caring what my hair looks like x

JaxxieT: I've had hair extensions for ten years, the bonded ones. I've never had Matts. I'm ready to take these out since the last time I got them redone my real hair looked pretty decent and short hair is making a comeback! I also love having the long hair and kind of feel like I'll feel "ugly" without them, but I know I need to make the change and I look forward to scrubbing my scalp! Lol good luck with your journey and thank you for sharing, you look great.

plmrcn: I appreciate this video very much because it is an excellent example of what not to do when considering extensions! You can't wear one type of hair style or treatment continuously, you can't go to a bad hairdresser and have excellent long term results, you can't overuse extensions without switching it up a bit and allowing your hair to experience a break from the technique, you have to know how to care for your hair while wearing extensions and most of all, you have to be familiar with what your hair can do! If you have fine stringy hair you have to be careful about how much weight is being applied to your strands. Anything and I do mean anything that is overdone will result in a negative outcome! This video is an extreme example of using and abusing extensions. I have had extensions for years and it has grown my hair very long. I am now getting ready to try i-tips for the first time and will remove them at any sign of trouble. When we say all extensions are bad we are being overly negative. I just want to offer an alternative perspective.

Liz Hale: Yup I bought myself foxylox clip in 18” hair extensions because I felt like I really wanted long hair while my real hair grew out. And it is now 2019 and my hair is about one inch longer (which is NOTHING in two years) and literally the thinnest most brittle hair I have EVER had in my life. And I’m finally ditching them and taking the HUGE confidence hit in order to have my real hair freaking back again and I had to cut my hair to shoulder length last week and I’m having to do castor oil treatments like every other day (which by the way is THE holy grail of hair products that I have found) and it was the biggest mistake ever because it was indeed an addiction. And it would be a lot easier if I didn’t have two beauty queen models for sisters with long thick hair to stand next by for the next two years so that’s what causes the confidence hit for me but it HAS to be done. It has to. I actually am glad I figured this out now so I will never be wondering about it ever again and I can give many girls with short hair advice NOT to wear hair extensions like me. It’s more than ok to wear them like a few times a month but NOT every day. And I never slept with them in once either. It’s just a shame that google says they don’t damage your hair at all because they do.

annatasha101 aaa: I used to wear hair extensions every day for about 7 hairs and it made.my hair fall out and prevented it from growing. It damages your hair if you constantly wear them everyday for years but it won't do any harm if you wear them sometimes for special occasions. It took forever for.me to grow my hair out.

Cheryl Ardis: Clip ins aren't too bad of you add more clips. It takes the weight of the few that they come in. My 3 clips have 5. My 4 clips have 7

Naomi Z.: I am so sorry:( Thank you for making this video !

Georgia: I had micro rings in for a week … they were so painful I got them removed. I’m still shredding over a week later

Nathalie Burnett: Please help. My hair has always been my pride and joy. I figured since it is pretty damn healthy, it could deal with some bleach damage. And I figured the master stylist who did all the color-corrections would know how much would be too much. I was wrong, and now I want to burst into tears every time I look at my hair or touch it. I just don't know what to do. My hair has also NEVER been shorter than this and it breaks and falls out. What should I do to regrow hair?

YGiann: your hair looks great now!! 4 years to restore is a long time though and im starting to see that it takes a long time myself.. would you please consider sharing some pics of the progress from damaged hair on the sides etc to now? thank you for the vid!

Jordan Garrison: I just had the exact same thing happen to me. I took my extensions out yesterday from my wedding and my hair is ruined. I am afraid I am going to have to start all over as well. When you said you had to cut your hair short, how short are you talking? Thanks for sharing all of this.

Tilly Hawkins: Hun I wish I had seen your video 4 years ago I have lost hair with clip ones ,, I feel I am at the stage I wish I could complete get my hair cut VERY Short but’s no it would show my Bald spots . Thank you so much for your video,,, you look fantastic now. X

Deb Watson: I’m going through this right now! I got easilocks and they ruined my hair so went for great lengths and my hair is shorter than ever. I’m now at the point where I know I need to get these out and start again. I’m absolutely devastated as well because there really wasn’t anything wrong with my hair before I just wanted it longer. I’m dreading them coming out!

N Faulkner: You are a stunning young woman. We all have our bits we are never happy with and want to improve. I have body envy of ur fab figure!!! Which i know you work out for. Your hair looks beautiful now so dont let anyone tell you different ☺

Cassidy Louwerens: I feel this in my soul. My natural hair used to be so beautiful. Almost down to my waist from the back. But I wore such long, thick extensions that I felt like I had no hair. If I could just have that hair back... can’t believe I covered it up so often. I’m watching this to convince myself not to go back to hair extensions

Lauren Miller: I needed to hear this. I have been wearing all kinds of extensions since probably the same age aboht 14 I’m 29 now and I just got keratin extension, I decided I didn’t like them and went to take them out and my hair is all coming out with it and I know when I take them out I will be left with nothing. I actually considered just putting tape ins over the broken part but I’m def going to just go to a hair dresser have it cut off and start from scratch. It’s really really hard for me right now but I know my hair is just going to get worse and worse if I continue the way I’m going

Christine Lauren: omg thank you for this video! x

J G: I did tape extensions and lost half my hair. It was sad. Never again

Becci Hollis: Ive never been one of those people who are blessed with thick hair, my hair is so fine and naturally very curly which I stupidly straightened from the age of 14. I started to wear clip in extensions from the age of 15, had glue ins at the age of 17 which totally ruined my hair, getting them out is just the worst thing EVER! I now have the most amazing hairdresser and I have a "Micro Weft" which is extensions but they have minimal damage on the hair, it has improved and grown so much since I've been having them. I can't bear my hair without extensions but I am glad I have found a good hairdresser and technique that is not ruining my hair! Still nowhere near being able to go without them though - like you say, it is a shield xxx

Bitchin' Blonde: Love this lipstick on you it's stunning! Smash box? Xx

Ibos Toys: I had same experience and was wearing them for years it definitely boosted my confidence i felt naked without it but thai time I realized my hair was thinner then ever amd i need to stop so I removed my tape ins and did a fair chop i also decided not to bleach my hair and im letting my natural hair grow im done with extensions and bleach im also doing heat free challenge and trying to wash my hair every 3 days opposed to where before i was doing it every day pretty much

sheena macleod: Thx for the share. This unfortunately has happened to me twice. My hair was ruined..I had to cut...finally grew out nice then I put bleach in it....it broke, and a family member started doing a new technique of extensions that apparently doesn't hurt your hair....well it hurt my hair...broken, thinned, bald patches. Cut short now and starting again yet again. I want to cry!!!! I'm not sure there really is a good kind of extension out there for my kinda hair.

DanceLover14: My sister has the most amazing long hair but my hair is thin and about the same length as yours. It used to be a bit longer and I'm trying to grow it again but it hasn't been the same since I got ill and lost loads of weight. My hair looks healthier now than it did but it just doesn't want to grow, haha! Your hair looks amazing btw! xx

Polina M: Ive had extensions for 2 years now and i will be taking a break and removing them in few months time. My natural hair is very thin but i dont think its damaged in any way. My worry is how long it will take me to get used to my natural hair. Im scared already. I bought hair vitamins and will start taking them now. Hopefully it will all be ok

Courteney Noonan: What do you use to film main channel vids? Love this video by the way Em xx

Don't Belong Here, From Another Planet: I think women in general, want volume, extensions help, but can be damaging if not used properly. I stay away from them and embrace what I have. Thanks for sharing

A person who has a Google account: I have trichotillomania. If I don't wear hair extensions, I will pull all of my hair out strand by strand. I can't just stop. That's like telling someone to stop breathing. The only thing that would help is medication drs will not prescribe to anyone due to the abuse of it. So I have to wear extensions to stop myself from pulling my real hair out. Instead I pull out the extensions, strand by strand.

Tenacious Dee: I feel the exact same as you . It sounds pathetic but I don’t even want to go out without some form of hair extensions as my hair is so thin it’s like a two year olds and I also am so obsessed with trying to be happy with it I’ve bleached it so many times to change colours .. never happy tho . Ahhh it’s literally the bane of my life . And funny u say that my other half said he hated my hair when I had it all cut off once ( think posh spice ) I actually loved it for all of 5 mins until he make feel like shit about it ! Ahhhhh it’s literally hair dysmorphia. The bane of my life ☹️thanks for video xx nice to know I’m not alone

Dani M: Omg I had the same thing happen and its been a year! My hair kept breaking off as it has grown and so whenever I see my stylist she cuts more and more and so my hair has stayed the same length for like a year lol. Ugh I wish I never got extensions I really regret it! It’s just now getting to a “short healthy hair” phase.

N M: you should of included pictures

Pammy M H: just took out my matted tape in extensions and feel very bare... But they were beyond repair. And my hair is really fine compared to what it was before I got my tape ins. I am never getting them again. Flip in extensions for me till it grows back.

Ali Drapos: Was it keratin bonded? Thanks for this!

Drippy Tv: U have to know how to manage fake hair to make ur hair grow, it also depends on hair texture, some people with silky hair like urs cant take the weight of hair extensions, but ppl with like a more rough hair texture like 4C hair it works because 4C hair is stronger because there r tight curls that r more rough

Yella Hawk: I've already read your blog post on this, still loved the video version! I hate that there are still hairdressers who want to convince you to get extensions. I had problems with my hair through stress and hormonal caused hair loss and a hairdresser's advice was to get extensions, of course I didn't do it. I think it would have been horrible for the weak roots..

Melissa Ribeiro: This is so me I’m so addicted to my clip ins

Leighann McGowan: Your hair looks beautiful ...

Kathy Ostman-Magnusen: I am sooo frustrated! HOW do you find a good stylist? Reviews don't seem to matter one bit. I've had different kinds of extensions for 4 years now and cannot imagine taking them out. I would have nothing in the back of my head. The last stylist I went to did tape in and I am dealing with that now. She put the extensions up too high. The tape she used is for shit bc I have lost at least 10 of them. I was at the store one day, felt the back of my hair and two extensions were coming out. I noticed a woman looking at my hair. At that point, I realized it was NOT bc my extensions looked natural! It's so expensive just to buy the hair and to lose even a couple in a store of all places makes me angry. I have been through at least 5 stylists now. I know.. take them out but I just can't.

Michelle C: When I was 15 I got some GHD's (which are amazing and I still have them) for Christmas and it kind of went downhill from there. I was constantly using heat on my hair to the point where the whole back section would break off and would be so much shorter than the front. I really tried to get my hair cut regularly but I just couldn't afford it. I've had the same hairdresser since I was 13 (I'm now 24) and I got to her every 6-12 weeks for a tidy up (now I CAN afford it) every time she cuts it she says how much better condition it's in. I'm like you Em I think I've accepted the fact that I'm never going to have super long hair and I think I'm okay with it, just going to keep getting regular trims and see what happens really

Amy Wilson: Thank you for this video clip ins have frayed my hair

Lexi Lexi: Sounds more like you abused them as opposed to they damaged you hair which for a lot of people they don’t...

M2Kay: The hardest part is to actually stop using hair extensions. I was extension free for 1 year and my hair thrived but I missed my full hair so i got them again for a trip this year and I HATE them. They feel just so foreign now and uncomfortable.

Eli4shawt: I'm glad that you know that its not healthy to be addicted to extensions I get addicted to all kinds of things like that I totally felt that

Susannah Walsh: Like you, I’ve always had somewhat fine , thinner hair, but still pretty, and it was able to grow long as a teenager, just was on the finer side. I started wearing extensions at around 16-17 years old. First glue ins, that completely destroyed my hair, then clips ins, then micro-beaded, which were also my favorite and looked beautiful! However. I didn’t take them out every 6 months to give my hair a break, nor did I get then moved up as often as I should have. So a lot of this is my mistake. I had them in for almost 3 years. I was horrified when they took them out, and again, caved, and got tape ins after hearing how “non damaging” they are. They definitely damaged my hair further, however, my hair was is terrible condition before hand as well, just wish the hair dressers would have been honest with me after taking one look at me and told me “NO”. After those were taken out. Again, I couldn’t except my hair at the state that it was. So, I got fusion hair extensions at one of the TOP salons in the city, I was told my hair would be fine and they were similar to the beads I had before; what I had previously were dream catcher hair extensions. These extensions couldn’t even hold for a week in my hair, they all started slipping out and breaking off. My scalp was so red, and sore after this, and although it killed my pride to do this, I went to a wig store and purchased a topper. I really hated how unnatural it looked and felt though in comparison to my bio hair. I never minded my hair being thin and fine. I just hated how thin and fine it eventually got. And how wispy and broken it was to the point where it wouldn’t even grow. I stopped wearing the topper, got a halo. I also really disliked how thick and course it was compared to my incredibly thin hair. Even after getting it thinned out. It looked unnatural. I knew this was the only way to help my hair heal though. So I wore the halo for a little over a year, and the topper for about a month, didn’t see too much of a real change at all, so I then caved again and got tape ins again, but only for short time. About 6 months, then went back to the halo. I did also see a hair specialist about 2 years ago and he didn’t think I had traction alopecia. He just assumed my hair was extremely thin and fine. I told him that it wasn’t ever like this before the use of extensions, he then assumed that I had a vitamin deficiency, so he gave my paper work for a blood test. Everything came back normal. I also have taken a full thyroid panel blood test including hormone levels by an endocrinologist. Everything also came back fine. It’s now been a little over a year that I have not had any type of permanent hair extensions, I have been eating extremely healthily for 2 years, use heat very minimally, use organic shampoo, take nutrafol, sleep on satin pillow case, and even use a laser hair cap, and wear clips ins or a halo very seldom and for only 8 hr periods, tops, I never sleep in the clip ins anymore. (I used to sleep in them everyday and also never left the house with them). I also got my hair cut very short, although it was already very short due to all the breakage, and I now am getting it trimmed every 6-8 weeks, and even though it looks slightly healthier. I am getting discouraged..anytime I get any length going, it still looks so terrible and wispy, like it can’t ever grow long again. I don’t know how many times I’m going to have to cut it short, just for when it finally starts growing again, it’s still so wispy and fine that it looks terrible down. I’m starting to think I may never be able to grow it long again like I used to, and my family keeps telling me I just may not have the same hair ever again I had when I was a teen, but I really hope that’s not the case, especially since I’m only 28 years old with no medical conditions :/ And you ended up with GORGEOUS hair in the end, is this give me hope. I just really hope this can be my future as well if I keep it up. ❤️ Fingers crossed Sorry for the huge long story there, but it’s so nice to find someone FINALLY to relate to that had a similar problem and story with hair extensions, since you ALWAYS hear the opposite, where people’s hair was completely fine and, or, actually grew longer with them in. Not saying that what those people are saying isn’t true, for them, just everybody’s hair is different, and I truly believe some hair cannot handle hair extensions without at least SOME sort of damage. My question for you is, and hopefully you get the time to respond or even see this, how long did this take for you to get your hair to where it’s at now after stopping the extensions? As I said before, any time I seem to get any length at all, I have to continue to cut it off due to how fine and wispy it looks. So I’m just getting worried it may never turn out like it once was. and am thinking about maybe just resorting back to permanent extensions if it doesn’t get better..

Joanne Yelich: I so relate to this girl its insane. I am going thru this now. im stuck with extensions that have grown out and during the pandemic noone can remove them. I am removing on my own and the glue is ripping out precious hair. I have bald spots everywhere. They rip very easily and are quite damaging. They look amazing and give you instant confidence but over the long run i believe they do no good for your natural hair. I had the longest, thickest, mosts amaZing hair until someone damaged it and burned it to the point it was crumbling in my hands. I decided to get tape in extensions. I now regret my decision and am still stuck with some very grown out. I am scared to take them all out because i will have very raggedy shorter hair and will probably cry. I truly in the middle of this. I truly feel this deep in my core. I wish I never did this. But when I reincarnate, I am going to come back as tape in glue strips, because they are some Strong Bitches!!!!

Casiana: How long did you keep your extensions in that it damaged your hair? I just had LA extensions put in my hair a day ago and I’m in so much pain (where the baby hairs are and at the back of my head and it’s itchy) I don’t want to ruin my hair again, I’m wondering if I should just take them out before it’s too late?

Donna Nix: Man this girl did a number on me My first time ever My hair was already long Needless to say It’s up to ears now n horrible

Krystle Lenth: I just took out my tie in extensions and my hair is incredibly thin I am so close to cutting it all off :/ i don’t know how to recover from this...

Oguz: I have very thin hair quite damaged too because of bleaching. I just took out my keratin hair extensions and there doesn’t seem to be much damage at all (a bit of shedding but I think that’s normal I had the extensions for 4 months- a bit longer than I should have but I didn’t have the time to take them out) I think it depends. Also you didn’t need heat to take out the bonds, you just use the solution whether you choose acetone etc (olive oil works too) put some on a cotton wool soak in on the bond get pliers and press down on the bond and then the hair should slide of. It worked for me I feel bad you had such horrible experiences

Jade Maclou: Your hair looks great babe, I need to detox!

Kirissa Moorer: This is my first time getting extensions... so one time won't hurt right?

Amanda Aube: You should try olaplex no 3 it helps my hair so much

Laura-Beth Lifestyle: I had the same problem with my bonded extensions. They matted like crazy and I lost so much hair because of them. I'm sort of lucky that I had super thick full hair when I got the extensions so I still have nice hair now but it kills me that my hair was in amazing perfect condition and now its lost half its volume. So my mission this year is to not use heat or very very minimal and try and grow it out again and hopefully I can get it back to how it was x

Fatima Xo: I asked my stylist and many other stylists if tape ins are safe and they’d all tell me they’re the safest, except one person who told me to use halo extensions since they’re best. I didn’t listen to her and got tape ins because I wanted to wake up with long hair... I took my chance and I’m regretting it bad! Despite being reassured that it’s safe I barely have half the hair I used to. Keep in mind I had very thick hair in fact I would get them textured because I couldn’t style with so much weight in there. When it was time to remove them, I used the adhesive remover which was honestly very gentle and the just glided right off. I removed them myself because I didn’t want to sit a whole hour with the stylist for this plus being a cosmetologist I knew exactly how to do it. But my Hair is very thin now. Sadly, it also grows very slow. I want to advise all the ladies to please invest in a good set of halo extensions they are by far the best thing you can do for yourself. I only got tape ins for length, not thickness and I traded up something good there are so many videos on how you can convert your clip ins to halos on YouTube, or you can just buy them. Good luck

Onlyfans NadiaTiger: He girl, have u ever tried wearing wigs? I have thin hair myself naturally, was thinking about extensions but never got them done cause of the possible damage. I do have lot of wigs and u can always take them off ;) more protective style

hilda hiatt: I had easilocks fitted in July. I paid £350 for the hair and another £193 to have them fitted which included doing my roots. I had to go back eight weeks later to have them removed and refitted, plus roots doing again. I was shocked at the amount of MY hair that was on the floor, plus I’d got a blinding headache as I felt they weren’t easy to remove. I bought all the recommended products and brush and was dreading going back to have them removed again and refitted at that particular salon, so I’ve been somewhere different. Cost me £20 to have them removed, PERMANENTLY, but I’ve been told I’ve lost 40% of my own hair. I’m utterly devastated and seven hundred pounds out of pocket for hair that is now a bloody mess. Don’t have EASILOCKS, take it from someone who knows what they’re talking about

GO HARD GIBBY: Same thing happened to me when I had bonded extensions

jessicasglamcorner: Really great videos and your instagram page is amazing !

L Lambert: I've worn pre bonded extentions for over ten years with no issues...

StormyWeather: You are so pretty. How misguided you are/were to think you needed any of that.

NotYourAverage999: omg. I had bald patches from clip ins too!

Kate Douglas: Can I ask how you styled your hair (clipped it up) when it was at its worst point? I just had my extensions removed and I have less than half of what I had prior to extensions. I’m devastated and don’t even have enough for a ponytail (it’s just wisps). I want to clip it up but since I can’t do a bun or ponytail I don’t really know what to do with it.

A Van: Felt exactly the same about extensions. From 15 up until around 2 years ago I was obsessed with extensions and couldn't go anywhere without them in. Recently, I've got it cut every 8 weeks, avoid putting heat on it, use olaplex, use the best quality products and my hair is growing so much longer already, after years of it breaking off and just staying shorter. I still wear extensions now but only for special occasions, which has made getting ready in the morning A LOT quicker and I don't have to worry about whether my clips are showing etc. x

Pinnaple cakeliveson: try viviscal that helped my hair :)

Beth Eager: I hate bonded hair extensions I trained in the and hated them they’re damaging. I only do micro and nano rings now as weaves and bonding damages the hair from the weight etc

Zahavah Cara Capello: i really needed to see this video. i looked at other photos before i got extensions i had such nice hair, CLIP-Ins made me lose half of my hair i think. Did it grow back, i am so sad now because of this. i am thinking of taking it ll off now and starting over.

Laurie Gagnon: How do you explain the videos that say that hair extentions damaging the hair is a myth? Cuz im sure a lot of women and girls believe those type of videos going on youtube

Evy Wolf: I just to out my tape in extensions and no hairs loss at all just feels light cause you used to so much hair

Leanne Adams: My stylist stole half of my extensions!!! When I seen her for a follow up. SURPRISE she had long hair in same color as mine and I needed to order more extensions the app after !!! Gee I wonder why !!!

Angelica Carbajal: I have hand tied extensions and I have zero fall out, no bald spots. If you have bald spots from extensions then it is 1. Application 2. Maintenance. My extension service is expensive but, you get what you pay for.

Audrina Ganio: Just get a full lace wig and you set

Jasmine Kianfard: Have u tried hand tied wefts?

Jasmine Lynn: Do wigs damage your hair too?

R: Are beaded extensions bad?

YSANROCA OfficialYoutube: You are falling for the stupid sh from all hairdressers who just want to pull you back to their salons.

Michelle Ward: I had micro bead hair extensions for 9 months, I have bleached fine hair, I had my hair trimmed every 6weeks and by the time I had my extensions removed totally my hair was in bits best condition.

Keksey Cheetham: What is your natural colour ? X

Laurie Gagnon: Before i could not find much videos like this maybe youtube inscreased the popularity of this video because of all my work to explain the horrible result of hair extentions

Kavita Gupta: Too much hair fall after extension

Hawa Shire: OMG POOR THING! IT'LL GET BETTER! IF ALL FAILS U CAN WEAR A SCARF!

Tarryn Pongracz: I literally have combed your blog for the link for the silver kerastase you’ve mentioned in your video and I can’t find it it’s not linked “down below” either

Linda Puertes Deals: Im going through same thing, the weight of the clip ins tugged on my sides now i have bald spots:( sooo bad...no one talks about it....now i have to cover my bald spots with eyeshadow!
