All right, so these feather hair extension, hair extensions, they've been very popular. These days, I've seen numerous people with them. I'Ve seen my friends with them and I thought oh cute. I won't mom, but then I thought I don't want to go. Spend like $ 300. In the salon to have it done DIY and I thought was actually very possible, so I'm going to show you how to do it. Here'S my little materials here I will link to where I got some okay, ceptin, okay. So, ah, before we were rudely interrupted and test screenplay, Bernadette has a really good screams. She could be a poor movie actress. I was telling you about my feathers and I got some of the stuff online and some of the stuff I got from a local like hair extension to paste or, yes, those exist, and so here are the materials, feathers well stripeys on them, and then this one Is a clump that already came made like then they glued it together with special glue, but you could use individual ones as well and make your own clumps by just putting together like three into your little to be. You can already see one that I did earlier right here, that's a little tunnel and then I'm going to put another one. I think right next. What I also did one over here - and this is where I think I'm gon na - do a clump alike - black okay. So you decide where you want, to put it just remember that the face of it is a little clip, so you could see it, so you don't want to put it right in your part. You want to put it in a like a lower layer. Then you need a threading tool, there's different kinds, so this one has a can here. So this line is like a cheap one. It'S kind of annoying actually cuz your hair get stuck in it, there's other ones that are a little bit more expensive, but makes you grab the air, but essentially you need this in order to thread your little tube. This is a little tube thing. I'M using this color safe blonde hair, and I also got for my dark brown friends. So the size of the piece of hair is probably around like an eighth or a quarter of an inch. If you were to measure it, you put your little tube down at the bottom of your threader loop, the hair through, and then you pull it through. It'S like a needle threader. You push the to be up, and then you pull your hear through and now the two V's all smoothly on your hair. Then you take your little feathers are taking this clump because it's nicely in a clump already with some glue and you stick. It hold it. Yes, okay, so it's stuck it in the hole and then you want to push the little tube up pretty much close to your scalp, but not so close. If it's painful and then you take pliers, I'm just using my jewelry pliers because I happen to have Flyers. But there's also special crimping pliers. You can buy but not necessary, and then you just squeeze it all the way you can use a pair of manicure scissors to trim the base, because sometimes the little feather has that pokey thing that sticks out. So there you go. Okay, one last thing: in order to take it out, all you do, is you take your tire and you just squeeze the little crimp bead the opposite way, so basically you flatten it to open it. You just squeeze it basically, just just pop it open slide it off.

Mr. Kate: @letsflyfaraway13 glad it's helpful! Depending on how fast your hair grows will dictate when you should take out the extension. If you style your hair a lot it may start looking a little sad after about a month to 6 weeks. You can always open the bead and re-apply the extension with a new crimp higher up in your hair if it's grown down too far. Let me know if you have any more questions! xx -kate

Rhea E: I would really love to get some of those, but I can't seem to figure out how to put them in my dreadlocks. Do you have any ideas how to attach something like that to dreads? I don't have hair to put the beadthingy around.. :(

Savannah Rose: if you squeeze it one way to put it in, turn it 90 degrees and squeeze it so that it will open because it will want to close the new way. when it opens you can take it out

Sheena Eileen: @beautywithin1234 eBay is a good place to shop online. I've ordered the links, pliers and hair threader under $3 with shipping on there. The feathers natural and synthetic can be a little more, but still a lot cheaper than specialty hair suppliers.

Abby Darel: @Queenofmeanjennajard They're not, they're plucked from live roosters. If you want it to be cruelty-free, you can take a thin strip of a ribbon, decorate it yourself or get a pre-patterned one and do the same thing. Except where the feather is, you put a ribbon! Make sure both ends of the ribbon are tapered!

fashionistaagt: my art teacher used to put these in for 5 bucks... they last pretty long if you dont get them tangled up in your brush.....
