New Lighting, Rice Water, Boxy Charm Can Smd | Alana Greene

What'S up guys welcome back, so i got some lighting and it works really good. I'M like shook about it, because this was like i'm pretty sure. I spent like 25 on this ring light and i was like uh. It might work it might not. It might be a bust, but it turned out that it's not a bust and it actually works really well um. So that's the warm light. Oh there's, two different warm lights. I didn't know that i just discovered that so that's the cool light, that's a warm light, and that is just way too warm of light right yeah. I don't know it's between this one and this one. I really can't tell the difference between those two. So, let's just let's just leave it here: yeah, okay, so i ordered this ring light on amazon and i'm super happy with it. So that's what it looks like like a little remote control thing for you to change the light, and then it actually comes with a remote control. I think this is probably like a bluetooth um like selfie remote, so you can take pictures while you're, not by your phone, which is awesome so yeah overall, like so yeah overall, i'm really happy with this purchase, but the thing is so i do this thing where, Like when i have a lot of choices before me, it makes me anxious and i get overwhelmed, and then what i do is like. I make no decision, okay, and so that's what it was with lighting like i've known that i've needed to at least just get something to like. If i want to film videos when it's dark, i can't because the lighting absolutely looks like [ __ ] sounds like elena just order some type of lighting like order a ring, light order, something. But then, every time i would go to do that, i would have like 1900 choices before me. Different brands, different sized ring lights this and that and i'd be like. I can't make a decision. I need to do research like how do i choose right? So that's actually, why i'm putting this in this video, because i got this idea from another youtuber who had made this video, basically saying that this was like one of the best ring lights. So, if you're looking for a ring light, i'm gon na link this below. It'S cheap, it seems to work awesome so far and i'm happy with my purchase. So i really didn't even plan to film a video. I just got super excited about how well this worked and i was like wow i'm i mean might as well just like test it out and say hi. You know it's friday night, my boyfriend works till like 11, so i'm just chilling at the house with lola. I'M probably not gon na go out and do anything because i just don't feel like it. I am happy just being here at the house. Just relaxing tonight there's a couple things that i feel like doing, and you know what like there's just always things that i need to organize. Like i said this in the last video, but like feeling overwhelmed is something that i have to like work to not. I have to work to not feel overwhelmed, because i am always like my mind, is always just going like like a million miles a minute, and i'm always thinking of like all these things that i need to do and that i want to do to where i'm Like it's pretty easy for me to feel overwhelmed or like to get like what do i even want to say like down on myself, because i'm not doing anything right, because i feel like there's all these things that i need to be doing right now like right. Now i'm like even in my head, i'm like elena, like you need to clean the clothes out of your bedroom, upstairs elena, like there's some dishes in the kitchen. You need to do that. Um, i'm just like it's. Just always like you know, and so that gets to be overwhelming, sometimes does anyone else struggle with that? I think it's a part of anxiety. Okay, i mean, i think, those i'm not going to categorize everybody who has anxiety is experiencing the same things, but i think that the majority of people who struggle with anxiety struggle with the feeling of feeling overwhelmed, because you just are always thinking about what you need To be doing so overwhelmed in some capacity, but anyway we learn to just deal with it. Don'T we so i didn't plan to film a video, but i'm trying, like i'm thinking of a couple things now that, like i'm sitting here that i i want to talk about actually one of which is super interesting and i'm excited about. I can't wait to see like what happens. You know so what i did recently is, i was, you know, trying to find ways to help my hair, i don't know if i've ever really explained like what happened with my hair, but the last time you guys seen me on the internet. I was blonde like fully blonde really long, hair and uh, as you might guess, my hair became damaged from people that really didn't take care of it, and people who overlapped my bleach and my hair started breaking off and getting really like unhealthy okay, and so it Got to the point where my hair was really short, probably like i'd say around here. I'M really short - and this is how short my hair is now so my hair was short right. It was probably like here, and i decided this - was the dumbest decision. I'Ve ever made okay, i just want to punch myself even thinking about this. I decided. Oh i'm going to get extensions, i'm going to get hand sewn in extensions, and that will help me like, as my hair grows out from being damaged right, you thought [ __ ], so i thought that this would help my hair and you know the people that Are putting them in they're like yeah, it doesn't break your hair you're fine, like it's not going to cause any damage at all. So i got the extensions put in my hair and a long story shortened. It absolutely destroyed my hair long term, okay. So what i started out with and what i'm doing right now, i'm sitting here thinking like do. I have pictures in my phone where i could like put these pictures in and if i do, they're gon na be in here, so my hair uh started becoming like a mullet. Okay, like my hair, started breaking off so much around the crown and around, like my face that all of a sudden i just like, had a mullet, you know what i mean so when you're trying to put extensions in - and you have a mullet type hair thing Going on uh, it basically just looks like you have a mullet and then really long hair. So it just did not look right for me and you know i kind of knew, but also i was just like. I don't know what to do like. I can't get these out because my hair looks absolutely horrible and at the time i didn't realize like how it happened. You know um, but my hair was in much better health before the extensions and then after the extensions just no good. So so these extensions were painful. Okay, so because my hair was so damaged. I had a lot of layers of the extensions and what they do is they part your hair, and then they take these little pieces of hair and like bead them to where they create a line of hair, like kind of like that that they can, like sew. Other hair into so then they like sew these, like wefts of hair, like onto those rows, so i probably had like one two three four and then i had a couple on the sides and eventually it just started breaking my hair off and you don't realize it Until like a couple months, go by right or until like you, take them out and you're like, why is all my hair breaking off and then it's to the point where, like you, can't take them out, because you look like a freaking idiot right. So i was just like wow like this was a really bad period of my life, to be completely honest with you, um big struggle for me, something's in my throat hold on. Let me clear my throat, okay, so really struggled during this time right and i was still getting the extensions and they were painful man i mean like when you got them done. Your whole head felt so tight, like you, couldn't lay on them. You couldn't pull with them, they were just um. It really started weighing on me right. So i i was like you know what i'm done with this. Like i don't care. If my hair looks stupid, i don't care, i'm dying it back to brown and i'm cutting. I mean i really didn't cut much off like there was some length to it, but it was more just like uneven to where, like we just had to you, know uh, and i was like [ __ ] it. You know i'm just gon na i'm gon na rock this mom haircut, like i'm gon na carry it out, for i don't know like three or four months until it grows out and i'm just gon na roll with it. You know what i mean whatever. So that's what i decided to do and that's why my hair is really short. Now, like i didn't choose this, i'm not mad at it, like i'm, not like dying that my hair is short, but i can't wait for it to grow. Okay, like i can't wait for it to grow, and you know what i wanna, if i could go back in time and punch myself right across the face for doing what i did to my hair, because my hair was so healthy and so beautiful right around the Time i started dying it. I can't believe i did that. I want to absolutely punch myself across the face. It sickens me. It absolutely sickens me, but anyway i have really healthy, thick hair. My hair is going to grow back and i'm not worried it's going to be great and i can't wait so that leads me into what i was about to talk about, which that was like a whole tangent. But so i was looking through the internet like trying to find ways to help your hair right, like oh, like how can i help my hair, so i find the rice water thing right. I don't know if you've heard of this, but apparently this has been a thing for like a couple years now, but people will take rice. Certain kinds of rice are better than others, but basically just basic rice. Okay, excuse me, and they will put it in water and soak it and like rub the rice to get the nutrients out and then like simmer. It not boil but like heat it up and like so there's like this regimen, basically to get the nutrients out of the rice. You strain the rice out and then you put the water on your scalp and your hair and because of the high protein content and whatever other nutrients are in this rice water. It'S supposed to like really benefit your hair, make it grow fast, grow, really long. Healthy shiny, thick, the whole nine, so i'm like wow sign me up sis, i'm so down to try this uh. I could use the help so i go out and i buy the rice that supposedly has the most protein in it and i go ahead and i make this mixture and i do this whole thing and it's been fermenting for uh. Probably it's probably the day, like it's probably been a week now like it's supposed to ferment for a whole week right before you use it, but i got impatient and the next day after i made this mixture okay, this was just like a week ago. I put it on my hair for the 20 minutes. It says i massaged it in. I did the thing i went. I got a shower and i moved on with my life right. Well, the next couple days like i don't know if i'm imagining this or what, but i don't think that i am the next like three or four days and, like you know like right now, like the last couple days, i have noticed, like my baby, hairs are Going off this, like they're, going off um and like all these new ones, that i'd never really had before, like i always have baby hairs, especially since my hair is like growing out uh, but not like this. So i'm thinking to myself huh this rice water made my hair grow and that's why, like all these baby hairs are sticking up. So i start looking up information and, like a bunch of people, say that right that, like the first thing you notice is like your baby hair is going because, like your hair's grown back, you know what i mean or it's making your little hairs grow and i'm, Like wow like this is so great for me, you know um, so i was just so ecstatic right and not only that guys, but i did it one time and my hair um. It feels different. Okay, like it just feels better. It genuinely grew since i did it like i'm, not [, __ ] you so i was like wow. I need to share this with the world and let people know that this might be it okay. Now. One thing i do want to say, though, like don't: if you're gon na try this make sure that you don't do it a ton, because the protein overload can break your hair off. It can have an adverse reaction like an adverse effect on your hair right. It can make it fall out and like get brittle if you overload the hair with protein, so i decided that i'm gon na do this for one week or not one week, i'm gon na do this once a week, for i don't know, like maybe a couple Months and see what happens, but i wanted to start out. Well, that's like what this video became now like uh. Now, i'm just sharing with you guys, like my rice, water journey, and this will be the first video into what we can can elena get it out. This will be the video that we have to compare to when i progress with this rice water, so i'm super pumped to see what happens because um, because i need something to happen with this hair i need i need. I need to fix this, so i know that it's going to take time, but that's what happened with my hair and it was absolutely like the worst experience of my life and uh. I don't know you know, i'm pretty sure that, like doing extensions and just having like one row in your hair, you know just doing one row or and just to add like a little bit of length. I'M sure that that's fine right. But when you have things sewn all over your head and it's heavy long hair it's pulling at your hair, it might like it might not break right away, but that is adding strain to your hair and in the fragile state that my hair was in. I don't understand why somebody didn't tell me the truth right. Why didn't somebody say hey like we probably shouldn't do this on your hair, because your hair might break off right, but instead they just wanted my money. So that's a little discouraging. If you know anybody who gets sewn in extensions definitely like, let them know uh that they can thin your hair out. Okay, you're putting them in to add thickness to your hair, but you're like it's being counterproductive, because you're literally thinning your hair out. By doing that. But anyway that was traumatizing. It was absolutely traumatizing and another reason why it was traumatizing like. I know that that sounds like dramatic, but literally it was okay because they would like fall out of your hair or, like you would be able to see a track right. Like because my hair was so short up through here, like mullet like they would put it in there and then like i, have this cowlick in the back of my hair. I don't know if you can see it, but there's a cowlick like right here. So my hair would do its calic thing and then you could see the track in my hair and that [ __ ] made me so nervous. All the time like, i was anxious. 24, 7, like wondering if my tracks were showing - and i just i can't live that way. You know what i mean like. I just cannot live that way. I'M anxious enough, so i can't have things that add an extra layer of stress to me. Do you know what i mean i got something else. I could do right now, i'm just thinking about this um. I got a couple packages today and they were exciting to me. So i'll show you what i one of them's boxycharm and you know what like i'm, not really too happy with it. If you want me to be honest, uh, actually, actually, no, i'm gon na i'm gon na i'm gon na. Tell you how i really feel i think boxycharm is [. __ ] trash you wan na know. Why here's why, when i signed up for boxycharm, i was like wow, i'm excited for this. This is really cool. You know. I'M gon na take this quiz and it's customized and they're gon na send me like things that i actually want, and so during this quiz, if you don't well, first of all, let me just stop. If you don't know what boxycharm is it's a makeup subscription box like ipsy or those other subscription boxes, they will just you know you pay a monthly price and they send you like random makeup. Okay, but when you sign up for this, you take a quiz and it asks you all these questions like. What do you want? What do you wear? What do you like blah blah blah and one of the actual questions was was? Would you like what type of eye products would you like to receive, and i literally put in this quiz i don't want to receive eyelashes and i don't want to receive liquid eyeliner because i get fake eyelashes and i cannot use those things i'm. I wear eyelash extensions, so i do not need mascara eyeliner. So for those questions about those things like, i stated that i don't want them at all. Can i please tell you like i don't know if boxycharm is doing this to be like a [ __ ] [ __ ], but they literally will they? The last two boxes from boxycharm have had fake lashes in them. My first box had fake lashes in them and liquid eyeliner, like some some cheap made in china ass. Like never heard of the brand ass eyeliner, and i was appalled i was like. Are you serious? I sign up for this makeup subscription box and i literally tell you guys that i don't want eyeliner mascara or like eyelashes, and that's literally what you guys send me like wow y'all suck. So i was like you know what i'll give it a few more months and see what boxy charm has to offer. So now that i've told you how i really feel, let's let's see what's in this box this month and if it sucks, i might [ __ ] around and just cancel the subscription like right now, because, honestly, every time i open a box - and it has fake Eyelashes in there or like eyeliner, i'm like what i literally said that i don't want these things like it's in my profile like it has to be right like. Why do we even take the quiz? What'S the quiz for boxycharm, if you're gon na, send me exactly what i tell you, i don't want like get it together. Okay, okay, let's see here the [ __ ] is this. This is [ __ ] trash like this is like boxycharm, saying: okay, like we got all this, this trash ass product from this company because they didn't sell them on their own, so like, let's put them in our boxes, we're canceling this [ __ ]. I cannot what is this? I'M sorry, i'm blown away by this bye uh, let's move on ph balancing, moisture milk toner with vegan, probiotics and prickly pear extract. Okay, all right! We can make a comeback. We can make a quick comeback now this product feels good. Okay. This feels like they didn't just pick it up at the dollar store or something like what was that wow like very thick lid? You know this. Just it's glass, um milk, dew milk, do what the [ __ ], i'm sorry, milk do yeah. Let'S excuse me hold on, i need to go. Put some milk do on my face. I can't ph balancing moisture milk toner. I'M sorry, my i'm about to make some really [ __ ] up jokes, so we just got to put this one away. Okay, anyway, this is me you think i have time no we'll just rip it over, and it's like. I do that with everything my boyfriend hates me for it he's like. Why do you open boxes like this? I don't know i just do. I love that when you sign up for these, they like show you all of like the good brands like nars urban decay and like brands that are actually known, and then they send you some [ __ ] like violet voss, i'm sorry who is violet voss. What is what you know what i mean like bye, okay, um, i don't know it's just pretty neutral, i'm not mad at it, but also like i don't know not impressed either. I guess anyway. So what is this this packaging so shitty that i can't even [ __ ] see what it says. So that's always fun. It'S a [, __ ] mystery! Let'S drive in what is this? What the [ __ ] is this? Oh, my god. This is plastic and feels like a literal um lip gloss from the dollar store. Okay, so it does say that it's cruelty free. We like that that it's also non-toxic it's weird, that they have to say that they're non-toxic, because why the [ __ ], would it be toxic if i'm putting it on my lips, i don't know 100 vegan. Yes, we like that, has a list of things. It'S made without okay yeah, maybe it's plastic and feels like cheap, but maybe the products just astounding. Let'S try it. Oh my god, this applicator sucks! Oh my god, it's like what a few finders over here [ __ ], it's one of those like flat ones. I wish it was focused, but this is my phone. You know, because that's how i roll oh, my god, it's like one of those flat ones like not even like the fuzzy fluffy ones like do you remember like the ones you had as a kid, i'm not mad. At this lip gloss. I don't like the applicator at all like this to me is it would like piss me off to use that and it's like bending as you're trying to put it in like very cheap product, but i don't really think i hate the lip gloss. It doesn't feel sticky, you know what i mean like how lip gloss feels sticky, that sucks um, that one's okay, i'll, probably just like, throw that in my car or in my gym bag, or something for like if my lips get dry like i stay with aquaphor. So no one is going to replace my aquaphor um, i'm sensing a vibe here, goat milk, yeah. That'S exactly what i want to put on my face: kate, somerville moisturizing cleanser, made with soothing goat milk and nourishing manuka honey to gently cleanse and remove impurities. This cleanser leaves skin soft, smooth and supple. The word supple makes me laugh when i hear the word supple. I just think of a titty, i don't know am i am i the only one sulfate free. Yes, we like that clinically tested to be safe for sensitive skin. Everyone must have the same sensitive skin, so they must be able to determine that, but again, like goat milk. What'S with like the milk, i don't know, it doesn't leave a good vibe inside of me and that's it. So i got some [ __ ] earmuffs a violet voss palette. I don't even really [ __ ] with eyeshadow, like i use very neutral eyeshadow. I just don't really like it. I don't know i like makeup, but not i don't know. What am i trying to say i like makeup, but i don't i don't. I like natural makeup, like i like makeup that looks natural. I don't like. I don't know you get me so all in all, i will probably definitely try this toner, give it a shot and i'll try the cleanser. The palette is probably going to sit in my cupboard or sit in my thing, unless i use like those three, maybe that guy maybe that guy the rest of them for the birds, this would be a good product if this wasn't so like plastic. This is like this is the worst, so that's kind of discouraging, but i don't hate the way. The lip gloss feels so that's kind of cool um, all in all, probably gon na cancel this subscription service, because i'm just not i'm not really, i'm not impressed by it. It almost just seems like they send you like a couple good things and then the rest of it's like garbage and i'm just like. Okay um, i don't know not really my vibe. I love scent bird and i also do the succulent subscription box, which i talked about in another video, which i also love. So i like subscription boxes, i think they're fun, but this one's kind of a letdown yeah. So the other thing that i ordered that i actually ordered myself, it's just really simple, but it's this little moon and star ring like i saw actually what i was doing is i was on youtube youtube. I said that's so funny i was on. I don't know if it was actually youtube or instagram now that i'm thinking about it, but i saw somebody with this exact ring and i loved the way that it looked. I was like, oh my god, i love that ring. I need that ring, so i got on google and i was like moon and star ring and what did i say i was like separate or space between or something just to like, try to find the ring, and i literally found the exact ring. So just a little star, it doesn't. Why isn't that focusing that drives me nuts? So it's an adjustable ring, but they are sterling silver. So i hope that it holds up okay and then it doesn't like get ugly soon. You know what i mean, but we'll see, and the company that i got it from is called alex and annie yeah.
