Boho Goddess Braids On Natural Hair With No Extensions//Boho Braids On Curly Hair

These boho goddess braids are so pretty on natural hair! Goddess braids are great for summer styles or even when you're just in the mood for boho braids. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out :) I'll definitely be doing these goddess braids more often. Let me know in the comments below whether you've been wanting to try doing them without adding extensions! I think there are so many cute ways this can be done even on shorter natural hair.

Welcome back to another video guys, my name is gabrielle dannell if you're new here, if you are not new here, you're already part of the family, welcome back i'm here with another hair video. I thought it would be really interesting to try something different that i've never done before, which is trying goddess braids on my natural hair, without adding any extensions, my hair is pretty long for natural hair. I'Ll show you guys it is pretty long, so you guys can see that it is doable with my hair, i'm thinking of doing thicker braids rather than thinner braids, which i've seen a lot of goddess. Braid looks do because of the fact that my hair is really prone to tangles. So i don't want to make my braids too small and end up causing a lot of breakage when the time comes to remove the braids. So i'm thinking of doing like a chunkier braid that reflects the goddess, look without adding extensions, so i'm going to start by parting, my hair into layers and starting from the bottom and going to the top. I want to really make sure that my parting is okay. I'M going to be more precise with my parting as i reach the top part, the more visible part of my roots. That way, i'm not like you know, spending way too much time parting. My hair, i'm just gon na braid, this normally just a three strand braid, to set my braids, i'm gon na be using the kinky curly curling custard, which is a great gel for my hair type. I don't want something that has too strong of a hold, because again, like i mentioned, my hair is very prone to breakage and because i'm just doing this on my natural hair and being that it is braids that i'm doing, i really don't want to add something. That'S you know super strong because for me, at least in my experience, it's caused a lot of breakage in the past. I want to braid that really tight, because this look is not meant to be like a super pristine kind of hairstyle. It'S more like a boho kind of look. I don't need my braid to be perfectly braided. You guys can see like i have little hairs. Sticking up and whatnot, but for me like that's completely okay, so now i have my first braid and then i'm gon na do the next. I apply more gel, as i see fit more so when i don't feel that slip anymore, and i want my ends to hold well. So that's why i'm just going in with the gel when i feel like. I need it. Okay, so now we're done with the bottom, i'm going to pay more attention to the parting, the more closer i get to the more visible part of my hair. So i'm just going to go ahead and start parting on the rest of my hair, um and again progressively get more exact. The closer i get to up here so i've just parted the next layer of my hair, so for these braids that i'm doing towards the front i'm going to leave a little bit of the end unbraided. So that way, my natural curl can form the end of each braid. So i'm just gon na have some gel on the bottom and i'm just spinning that at the end, so now i'm towards the top of my head. So i've made sure that my parts are pretty crisp. That'S not as crisp as i would have liked, but it's okay. We won't be able to see that well um, and so i'm going to start with this hair at my crown area. This is honestly the most tangle prone of my hair. This part right here, so i want to be careful to braid it in a way. That'S not going to leave it tangled do do so. I'M really making sure that that gel is saturated on my ends. Okay, now i'm going to leave out one strand, a strand of my curls from this braid to start letting some curls out and leave that strand out and i'm gon na keep braiding. So you guys can see my ends are pretty curly. Then we have our loose curl here and i'm just gon na put some gel on bam. Okay, guys! So i'm all done with these natural goddess braids. You guys can see that i left out some strands of curls just towards the front, not much because i didn't want it to look too bohemian. So i kind of left most of my hair in braids, while just taking out a few strands out of the braids. I'M sure this kind of hairstyle can last maybe around for my hair at least maybe a week. I think anything over that might cause a little bit of dryness, especially for my hair type. I think it's a super cute summer, look especially one that's not as put together. I guess you would say it's more of a boho kind of look. This is again for my type 3 curls and my length. I'M not sure how this kind of look would turn out for maybe a tighter curl type or maybe a looser curl type or even just hair, that is shorter than mine. I just know that, with my hair type and my hair length, it did work pretty well. So let me know in the comments below, if you end up trying this look and what kind of hair type you have. I'M curious to know what this kind of hairstyle would look for a hair type and a hair like that is a little bit different than mine. aloma :]: Thank you! I've been looking for a video like this for sooo long. I refuse to use any type of weave on my hair so this came in handy! <3

Alicia Moore: Gorgeous!

Makiesha Kaatz: Love this! How long did this take you to do?

Prophetess Lady Of Wisdom: Wow, your braids came out gorgeous. Especially, for your texture and length. I'm mainly in single braids under wigs. My hair is probably between 4a,4b, slightly fine and around mid back. I'm just recovering from a big chop above ears at the end of 2018 due to severe breakage and damage. Child, if I attempt that. I'll be known as knots city for sure. .

Stella Rose: Depending on the curl pattern and texture of your hair this could be very cute or a major fail

Elandra Lewis: I have mostly 4b but a little 4c in my hair. My curls are tighter at the back of my hair than the front. I wanna try this but I'll definitely have to do what you did and take the small pieces of hair from the front since my hair is loosest at the front.

h3llgrl: Was looking for a tutorial w/o hair added!!

My'Kell McCoy: How long did this style last for you?

Sincerely Leshawn: i want to try this omg my hair is a little shorter and Im 3c 4a but i think im doing this today! wash day lol

Doxxie: Thank you and btw you are beautiful

Kelly Haskell: Gonna try

Lamya S: what's the intro song? sounds familiar.

Evelyn Molina: As a Latina would it be okey if I tried this bc u I think it’s black culture?
